There was so much to love about this story. Full of second chances and new beginnings along with the friends to family of the heart theme and romance. Joy is a single mom who was basically disowned by her wealthy parents years before. She is managing the RV resort where Maris runs the cafe and store. Maris came from a poor family that provided love, but not much else. When they are all gone and she is alone, she finds her way to Summer's End. Both of these women are leery of romance and are guarded with their emotions. As the story moves on and they begin to open up to one another, they become sisters of choice.

Along come two romantic interests and it was fun to read about this development. Royce has not plans to get involved until he meets Joy and her delightful son Jack. The interactions between Royce and Jack are wonderful. This little boy is looking for a father figure, but does not fall easily for any male. For some reason, he latches onto Royce and melts Royce's heart. Maris is also not looking for romance, but has always notices Daron. He is handsome and a womanizer, so she has held Daron at arms' length. He has made it clear many times that he is interested in her, but with her baggage, she just is not ready. As well, she has never been intimate with a man before, and she is sure that is what Daron is looking for. It takes Joy to convince Maris to take a chance, and Maris to push Joy into a date. Can these women, with all their baggage, find love at Summer's End.

I loved the characters and their relationships. Jack was loved by everyone in the story and it was easy to see why. This sweet, loving and trusting boy was so open with his feelings that he touched everyone. Of course there is the requisite dog that is rescued and taken in by Royce, that is loved by Jack and brings them even closer together. All four of the main characters have flaws, but that makes them more human and relatable. As the baggage is shared with one another, the characters are well-developed and I began to think of them as friends. The secondary characters flesh out the rest of the story with their relationships. The story is well-paced and I raced through it in one day. My only complaint were the two relatively descriptive love scenes. It is not that they were unexpected, but the story was beautiful without the details. Overall, this was a wonderful story and a great addition to the Summer Resort series. This book can be read as a standalone with no issues, but the first book is so delightful as well, I would recommend reading it as well as this one.

This is a cute romance and is book 2 in the Summer Resort series that is set at an RV resort/camp. Book 1 (Cooper's Charm) was released last summer, but I think you can read this as a standalone.
What I liked about this one:
-The main characters are strong women who don't NEED a man
-The setting is perfect for a summer read
-The men are sweet and secure
-This series is body positive
-There is a puppy!

This is a light and cute contemporary romance from a queen of romance reads. Its not too steamy if that isn't your thing. 3.5 stars!

4 1/2 STARS!

You just can't read a book in this series and not walk away smiling! With the follow up to her beloved feel-good romance COOPER'S CHARM from last summer, Lori Foster brings us another trip to the homey RV resort to see a few more of the family of employees find their happily ever afters. Like the original book, this one also encompasses two couples and spotlights a close-knit friendship. We saw several familiar faces as we touched base with the couples from last year and brought a new character into the fold. Really enjoying the down-home feel of this vacation spot!

Single mom Joy Lee loves the life that working at Cooper's Charm resort has brought to her and her young son. She's not all that big on taking chances and shaking the boat, but when her knew best friend dares her to take a chance on the attraction she is feeling for the new drive-in owner Royce Nakirk, she decides to throw caution to the wind and lives a little!

Maris Kennedy isn't all that good at practicing what she preaches. She lives and breaths running Summer's End, her country store/cafe at the RV park. She came from a life of having little and she never wants to let her guard down and open herself up to being in that position again, but when Joy takes her advice and takes a chance on love, she feels like she has to do the same and finally give Daron the chance he's been wanting for awhile now!

Joy and Maris have worked at the same RV park for years. Maris has slowly tried to get Joy to open up more and be a friend to Joy. Finally it starts to happen. Turns out Maris needed that friendship too. As they become close as friends each finds a love interest. Royce buys the Drive in Next door and takes a interest in Joy. Royce and Joy each have their own past baggage to deal with but tentatively decide to explore their interest in each other. Each promising they don't have time for a serious relationship and their not in a place to explore anything that serious. Daron works at the park with the ladies doing all the maintenance among other things. He's had a thing for Maris for years. Maris though has had a hard upbringing and that has taught her to always put her self first and to plan plan plan. Nothing outside of the plan. With help from Joy she finally opens herself up a little for Daron and decides to explore their attraction to each other. This was a lovely story. I enjoyed both couples and watching them figure out that it's OK to open up and let others in. Be it friendships or more. I loved how Royce interacted with James Joy's little boy. I liked how the two clicked and became more like father and son and Royce accepting him immediately as someone important to him. A great summer read!

Lori Foster does it again! We get to see the beginnings of a relationship and fall in love with her real characters. Joy and Mavis get to develop an amazing friendship while being cheerleaders for each other’s foray back into the dating world. I could relate to both women and could see them being friends with anyone of us! A must read!

A sweet addition to the Summer Resort series. We get to catch up with the supporting characters from book one. We found out in the first book that Maris seem to not like Daron flirting with her but we soon find out why Maris keeps a distance from him. Most of the story is centered around Joy Royce and her sweet son Jack. I love the steady pace of seeing both Joy and Royce saying to each other their relationship will only be one of convenient but then how the author shows the progression of them falling for each other. We get a small catch up of the book one couple Cooper Phoenix Ridley(whose still pregnant) and Baxter. Review on goodreads and amazon.

I was hooked on this story from the beginning. It is a great follow up to Cooper's Charm where we are back at the park. I enjoyed the relationships between Joy & Royce as well as Maris and Daron. Joy was leery of relationships and always put her son first. It was so touching to see Royce bond with her son & see her little boy grow more confident. I was also happy when Maris decided to open up and let Daron in her life. It was great to see Coop, Phoenix, Baxter & Ridley again too. This is a must read!

We return to Cooper’s Charm to visit old friends. Ms Foster has created a resort I’d like to visit and sit drinking coffee with the characters. They’re all like old friends. Joy Lee single mother everyone has embraced meets Royce. They both are weary of relationships but are attracted to each other. We get to see Maris and Daron interact and learn more about them. Joy and Maris become closer as friends. This book is full of sexual attractions and love. Great book. The self made family at Cooper’s Charm is not bound by blood but love and respect. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.

Overall, I enjoyed this story with its blend of friendship, family and romance. Royce and Joy are such a sweet couple, and Jack, Joy’s five-year-old son, stole the show. I loved how Royce and Jack bonded, even while Royce didn’t want to get involved in a serious relationship. The theme of friendship and sisterhood is weaved throughout the book, with Joy and Maris forming a close bond. It’s a light, easy read for a lazy summer day.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.

Sisters of Summer's End is the second book of a series. I did not read the first, however I was comfortable and didnt feel lost. I enjoy Lori Foster books because she writes a strong, sexy romance, and this is no exception. Engaging characters abound, and the setting is beautifully drawn. As a bonus, there are two journeys to happily ever after in this novel. A great escape read. 3.5
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

This is the second installment of Lori’s Summer Resort series. This one is all about summer, friendship, and sisterhood. This was a delight to read. Lori has been in my top three favorite authors for years now and every single time she creates new or expands upon existing worlds I know why. In this book Joy Lee, a single mom, takes on a job at a lakeside resort in a management position. She finds what happiness is after taking this job and that is something that wasn’t easy to come by in her past. Happiness also comes in the shape of Royce Nakirk.
Joy never expected to find love and she wasn’t even looking for it. She had resigned herself to raising her son Jack and giving him the best life possible. Risking her heart wasn’t in the cards either. After her divorce she never expected to find what came next.
Meanwhile, her friend Maris, who is like a sister to her is also of the same mind. That is about the time Daron Hardy enters into her world. She wasn’t expecting to find love and wasn’t even looking for it. So, she hold Daron at arm’s length and builds barriers that they both would have to crawl over if they are going to find happiness with each other.
The two women are able to bond over this and other facets of their lives. The friendship between them are what true friendship is all about and makes this book (and series so special). Once again Lori has hit it out of the park and I cannot wait to see what she conjures up next!!

This was a terrific story of friendship and love. Both Joy and Maris have worked at the RV resort for several years. Each of them has concentrated on their work, preferring to keep people at a comfortable distance. But as this season winds down, both Joy and Maris feel a little lonely. I loved the scene where they drop their walls a little bit and reach out to each other. It was great to see how easily they connected once they allowed themselves to open up. Theirs was the sort of friendship I like to see between women, one where they encourage and support each other. There were some hilarious moments between them, especially when it came to their conversations about their men. There were also some deeply emotional ones as they shared the ups and downs of their pasts and presents. One of the things I enjoyed the most was seeing them give each other the push needed to take a chance on love.

I loved Joy. She grew up as the spoiled only child of affluent parents, then she rebelled and married against their wishes. When she got pregnant and her husband deserted her, they disowned her when she refused to give up the baby and come home. I was amazed at her strength and determination as she turned her life around to make a good life for her son, Jack. He and her job are her whole life; she has no plans to enter any relationship. Then the drive-in theater next door is sold, and the new owner stirs up feelings that have been dormant for six years.

Royce was great. He purchased the drive-in as a new start to his life. He spent the last several years caring for his ill mother, and while he grieves her loss looks forward to being unencumbered. He has big plans for renovating both the theater and his house. He didn't expect to have his plans upended by a pretty single mother and her adorable son.

The sparks flew between Royce and Joy from the start. With Maris's encouragement, Joy took a chance on reaching out to Royce. Both of them made clear that they weren't looking for anything permanent, but that a physical one was definitely on the table. I liked seeing that fall by the wayside very quickly. Royce won my heart very quickly when he came to the rescue of the injured stray puppy, and sealed the deal when he made the puppy part of his life. Joy was a little wary of letting Royce get too close to Jack, but he won her over with the way the two of them bonded. I loved the development of the relationship between Royce and Joy as they spent time together, both with and without Jack. Though both realized that their feelings had changed, because of their earlier agreement, they kept those feelings to themselves. When Joy's parents reappeared in her life, Joy found herself with some decisions to make. I ached for Royce, who had some insecurities flare up, causing him to pull away. I laughed out loud at the scene where all his friends ganged up on him to tell him what an idiot he was being. Royce's big moment at the end was great.

I ached for Joy and everything she went through with her parents. Her mother was a piece of work, and I understood why Joy had avoided them since Jack's birth. Joy had matured quite a lot in those years, and she did a grand job of standing up to her, especially the scene that Royce got caught up in. I loved seeing how all of Joy's friends at the resort banded together to support her when she needed it. Her parents did redeem themselves pretty well by the end, especially her father. Mom may still need a little work. The scene at the end, where they were all together at the resort was both funny and heartwarming.

I also enjoyed Maris and Daron's part of the story. Maris's life had been almost the opposite of Joy's. She grew up poor with a difficult childhood, which greatly influenced how she led her life. She worked and scrimped and saved, determined that she would never have to depend on anyone again. She tends to be a tad prickly in her independence and keeps people at a distance. Joy is the first person she allows herself to get close to. One thing on her "someday" list is a relationship, but there's one guy at the resort who isn't content to wait. Daron is the resort handyman, a friendly, cheerful, and flirtatious guy who manages to get under Maris's skin. When Maris pushes Joy to give Royce a chance, Joy does the same to Maris, challenging her to give Daron a chance.

Maris bugged me a little at first with her attitude toward Daron. He's a little younger than she is, and she looks down on his more relaxed attitude and believes that he doesn't take anything seriously. I loved his persistence and the way he would tease her. They joined forces to help Joy, and at the same time, got to know each other a little better. Maris completely redeemed herself in my eyes when she took a good look at Daron and who he really is and apologized for her judgmental attitude. I laughed out loud when Maris laid down her rules to Daron and then got all bummed when he actually followed them. The sparks flew when they finally gave in to the attraction. They still had a couple of bumps to get over, but it was fun to watch it happen.

I loved seeing these two women become sisters of the heart, and along the way, open up their hearts to love. I hope to see more stories at the resort so I can catch up on their lives. Now I need to go back and read the first book and see how Cooper and Baxter found their loves.

Sweet, Spicy with a large helping of Seduction! ♥️

A wonderful addition to the Cooper’s charm collection… Joy & Jack made the Cooper’s charm family just a little sweeter! While Maris brings a bit of sass & spice. One of my all-time favorites… loving the bond that develops between Joy and Maris bringing them as close as biological sisters. Simultaneously, Daron & Royce add a whole lot of seduction to the mix. Will they all find happily ever after? Read this page-turner to find out how the Cooper's Charm family grows. ♥️💜💙💜♥️

First off, I LOVED Cooper's Charm. I mean... really, loved. It was one of my all time favorite books of last year, and of all time. I actually bought two copies - so I could give it to my friend and make her read it and love it as much as I did. And I'll be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to The Sisters of Summer's End. I didn't think it would be able to come close to Cooper's Charm, but once again... I was proven wrong. I'm not sure it can beat CC out, but they're definitely tied in my book.

Lori just has that special magic touch when it comes to characters - They always feel so real and genuine. Her heroes are the type I can really believe in - good guys that could actually exist in the real world. And this book is no different. Sisters of Summer's End is just so... Heartwarming, I guess is the word I'm looking for. Maybe just warming in general. It's the perfect read for a summer's day, or a gloomy rainy day. I actually sighed when I finished it, and felt that warm happy glow that I get when finishing a truly good book.

Highly recommended.

I love this series. single mom Joy and the new drive in owner Royce, meet and by the encouragement of her co worker, Maris who runs the little store at the Rv park where Joy works, challenges her to step out of her comfort zone and live a little, but Maris is wondering if she should take her own advise and do the same. These two ladies become close and form a sisterhood bond. Great story. I received this arc for my honest review.

What a wonderful, wonderful story. A perfect summer read, it's a story of finding new friends and finding new love too. Add in summer camping, a small town and a dog and it's a great read for everyone. Well done.

Wouldn't we all love a tight knit community who supports each other, and loves like a family? We'll, Joy and her 5 year old son have found that in an R.V. park where she's the creative director. She meets the new drive in owner named Royce. They both seem to feel a connection, but are both wrapped up in their own lives. Maris is a very independent business owner who runs the general store and cafe. Daron has been trying to get her to go out with him for years, but Maris always turns him down. When Joy and Maris begin to develop a deep friendship, somehow it helps them both open their hearts to new possibilities. A really sweet, romantic read that I loved! Especially the friendship between the two ladies.

I have been awaiting Sisters of Summer's End since finishing Cooper's Charm last year. Particularly Maris's story. This sequel is about Maris as well as Joy. Both are employees at the summer resort and campground. Both have been kind of loners for a while. But they begin to slowly learn to open themselves up and find a deep friendship with each otherr. Oh and they find love along the way. It wouldn't be a roamnce without a little love, right?

I flew through this book. I absolutely loved it. Out of the two couples, Maris and Daron were my favorite. They were so cute and adorable and gave me such a smile. I loved how Daron ended up being so different from Maris's opinion of him. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy Joy and Royce's relationships. Theirs is a classic case of finding something when you least expect it.

Besides the romances, there were two other aspects that I loved about the book. I loved watching the friendship develop and deepen between Maris and Joy. We all need a friendship like that in our lives. Sometimes we have to just open ourselves to the possibility. I also loved the relationship that grew between Royce and Jack. It was just so heartwarming and sweet.

Ifyou are looking for a great book to get lost in this simmer, I highly recommend this one as well as Cooper's Charm. You all know this is a favorite author of mine, so you know Ialways count on her for a great romance. So check them out!

It’s been quite some time since I’ve read anything from this author, I read a lot of her earlier books. I wish I could say that I loved this one, but sadly it took me over a week to finish it. I personally struggled to get through a lot of parts and I found myself putting it down quite a bit. I think it was the characters. I had a hard time connecting with them. The dual plots were okay but it didn’t really blow my hair back.

This was definitely a middle of the road romance for me. I enjoyed the story but the characters drove me a little batty. While most of them were in their low 30s, they acted much younger. At times I found their behavior very juvenile and annoying.

It was a sweet story line and I liked how it all came together, but I couldn't love it because of how they acted.
