I loved this return to Cooper's Charm where we get two romance stories, a budding sisterhood between Joy and Maris, and Joy's lovable son Jack. The support that Joy and Maris showed for each other as the story developed is what true friendship is about - from listening to each other without judgment to encouraging each other to be honest and discuss their feelings/thought with their dates. There was also a true sense of family among the workers of Cooper's Charm as shown by their support for each other.

Sisters of the heart, not blood. Two romances. One young boy. Back stories of which some are divulged eventually. A few tears may be shed. Oh yes, and a dog. A new-found pet always enlivens a tale.

Royce is the new owner of the next door drive in . Joy’s friend,Maris encourages her to take a chance at happiness with Royce .
Thank you Lori Foster, Harlequin, and Netgalley for an ARC for my honest opinion.

Sisters of Summer's End is the second standalone in Lori Foster's Summer Resort series. It's a wonderful feel good read for a cool summers night or a day at the beach. A lighthearted romance with a single mother, an adorable 5-year old, crazy puppy and kind handsome man.

The story line of Sisters of Summer's End has two women creating a tight bond and both finding a man who loves them for who they are. Maris and Joy are both hard-working and strongly independent woman who learn to lean on one another and once they open up to each other they become fast and true friends. They encourage each other to step out of their comfort zones when it comes to the men around them that show interest. Maris' other half was in front of her nose the whole time and just needed the extra nudge to acknowledge it. Joy needed the wake up call that it was about time she looked after her own needs instead of just that of her sons.

The friendship was fantastic and the romances in the book were even better. Joy and Royce had sexual tension galore and electric chemistry. Royce was supportive of Joy and absolutely amazing with her son Jack, they formed an instant bond. Their willingness to be in an actual relationship was hesitant and it took time for them to be completely honest with each other but it was worth it to watch their fling quickly turn into more. Then we have Maris' and her man (who I won't name because I don't want to spoil it :) ) , they were fun and angsty. The banter back and forth and explosive chemistry was perfect.

Sisters of Summer's End was another great Lori Foster book and I look forward to more adventures at this cozy lakeside resort where the characters have become like family.

Lori Foster delivers a wonderful book filled with friendship, the bonds of sisterhood and the idea that love always seems to be found in the most unlikely places. I was hooked by the first chapter and hope she continues this series in the future.

Once you get into the story, it draws you in.

Joy is a single mom with a past that she doesn't want intruding on her present. Royce just wants to live for himself after caretaking for his mom for so long.

Maris wants to be that independent person who doesn't rely on anyone, especially playboy Darin.

As the both stories go, you see the love of the RV park and the family atmosphere that carries through them all.

I was in a pretty big reading slump before starting this book and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself coming out of that slump after reading this book. Although I enjoyed the first book in the series, I expressed by slight disappointment because I felt like the book was more of a Contemporary Romance rather than a true Women’s Fiction novel. However, I definitely feel like Lori Foster has stepped up to that and created a story that is more fitting to the genre.

In this book, we have two characters, Joy and Maris who find something that they never expected to. Both are at different points in their lives, but are feeling as if something isn’t right. As they encourage each other to step out of their comfort zones, they both discover something about themselves.

I really enjoyed this friendship and this was the kind of thing that I was looking for in this novel. While the romance is also a major part of the book, I really prefer there to be a focus on something else other than the romance when you are writing a Women’s Fiction novel. This distinction is really what makes it different from Contemporary Romance, which I felt the first book focused on the most. So I’m curious to see if Foster will continue this style and if so, I will definitely be looking forward to reading it.

Truly heartwarming, emotionally engaging, sweetly sexy and engaging journey filled with intriguing and wonderfully written charters. This story pulls you and and sits you down for a beautifully lazy and highly entertaining good time. Loved this adventure and the charters I got to know along the way.

Sisters of Summer’s End was a feel good, light-hearted addition to the Summer Resort series. I’m still on a quest to find a real Cooper’s Charm so I can pack up and move, because how awesome would it be to live and work in a place like that?!? Granted, you’d probably get tired after a while of being in such close quarters with your coworkers, but the friendships you’d make would be worth it!

That’s one of my favorite things about this story- the friendship that developed between Joy and Maris. It was nice that it was just as much of a focus of the story as the romances between Joy & Royce and Maris & Daron. Neither Joy nor Maris were in any hurry to get involved romantically, but when they found themselves doing just that, they had each other there for support, guidance, and their own personal cheering section. I loved the persistance of Royce and Daron, and appreciated how they knew just when to push and when to pull back.

I really enjoyed how Ms. Foster integrated the two storylines together, everything flowed so well, without any awkwardness as the points of views changed. Joy and Maris's stories mirrored each other, even with their differences. Joy, the single mom whose sole focus is making sure her son has the best upbringing possible, and Maris, whose past has colored everything about her present. These two were such strong ladies, and I just loved their friendship.

4 big stars for this amazingly sweet read!
No one does romance better than Lori Foster!
Sisters of Summers End is packed full of everything that is classic Lori.
Both Joy and Royce have plans and none of those plans include the opposite sex. Keeping things simple and doing what they need to do to get what they think they need/want is all the two of them think about. Sometimes though, life sends a gift that can't be ignored.
I loved Jack! He's sweet and lovable and full of energy. Everything a small boy should be. And dont even get me started on the fuzzy critter we get to meet.
I loved Joy's spunk and determination to make her own way, to become her own person. The fact that she found the courage to explore with Royce made me like her even more.
Royce is so sigh worthy. From the second he realized Joy is more to him, he doesn't hesitate to be Joy's knight.
The story shows us what can be found and appreciated if you just take a moment to open up to the people around you. The friendship between Maris and Joy was sweet to watch develop and turn into family of choice.
I also loved the secondary story between Daren and Maris.
Sisters of Summers End will keep you flipping pages and sighing out loud.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I just love going back to Cooper's Charm where everyone is family. Joy has devoted all her time and attention to her son, Jack. That is until the new drive-in owner shows up. Royce bought the drive-in and is hoping to get his life together - unencumbered. But, when Joy and Jack enter his life, he starts to rethink that plan. Joy and Maris have become close friends, like sisters. So after Maris encourages Joy to go after Royce, Joy encourages Maris to go after the man, Daron, who has been chasing Maris for a long time. It is time for both of them to find their happiness. Can they let go of their past heartaches and look to the future?

The second book in the Summer Resort series is as enjoyable as the first book was. This story revolves around Joy and Royce's love story. It is a heartfelt romance with strong secondary characters. This book is perfect for a summer read. I really like how Ms. Foster writes her male characters. They are strong and very loving. Would definitely recommend this book.

~~Reviewed by Amy~~

I love reading about love. After all, it’s what makes the world go round, right? So I’m always a sucker for a good romance. But I especially love when those romances involve stories of loving friendships. Those kinds of friends that become your family, helping you build your dreams, and picking you up when you stumble. Real friends who not only bring fun to your life but also encourage you to take risks. In Lori Foster’s newest addition to her Summer Resort series, a new friendship leads two women to learn to trust and open themselves up to finding love.

Joy Lee was a once burned never again divorcee. She’d devoted her life to raising her young son, Jack. She’d been content with working and living at Cooper’s Charm RV Resort. The few casual friends she’d made, her time with her son, and her work as a camp director had been enough. Until she met Royce Nakirk, the new owner of the local drive-in.

Royce had spent the last year caring for his mother and was ready to take time to focus on himself. He was restarting his life, getting his act together, re-establishing who he was and what he wanted. That was his plan. Until he met a kid who tugged at his heart and a woman who made him forget he had plans.

Maris Kennedy had worked tirelessly at the Summer’s End camp store for years. After the upbringing she’d had, financial security and independence were her number one goals. She had a set of rules she followed and relying on anyone else was not a part of her plan.

Daron Hardy worked maintenance at Cooper’s Charm. He’d been fascinated with Maris for as long as he’d known her. But no matter how much he flirted with her, she seemed to avoid him. Every time he tried to get closer, she seemed to push him further away. He wasn’t giving up though. If she’d give him any kind of sign she was interested, he’d be there in a heartbeat.

When Maris and Joy forge a friendship, a bond is formed. One where they look out for each other and challenge each other to step out of their comfort zones and take a chance on relationships. Something they’d both denied themselves. What follows is a heartwarming story about the sometimes complicated relationships between friends and family, love, the past, and figuring out what you really want in life.

I loved the overarching stories of Maris and Joy. Two women with their feet firmly on the ground who meet two men that sweep them right off those feet. All the characters were real and relatable. People you’d gladly choose as your friends. The story was perfectly paced and easy to read with some hilarious moments, aww moments, and serious emotional moments. If you’re looking for a juicy, funny, romantic, and uplifting read, you’ll definitely get love drunk on this one.

This book demands to be accompanied by a beach towel, a lounge chair, plenty of sunshine, and hopefully some sort of body of water. I say that even though half the book is set during the fall and winter. There is just something about Lori Foster's latest series about an RV camp in Ohio that encourages thoughts of summer days and good friends. I adored the first book in the series, COOPER'S CHARM, and was super excited to be back in that world.

Like COOPER'S CHARM, SISTERS OF SUMMER'S END follows two separate romances connected by the heroines. In SoSE, Joy, a single mom, and Maris, a hard working shop owner, make the conscious decision to support each other and become friends. I loved this plot point. Not only does Ms. Foster highlight healthy romantic relationships, but she also features strong, adult, female friendships. I enjoyed hearing about Joy and Maris beginning to depend on each other as much as I enjoyed the romantic relationships.

This book was a delight to read, and I love that Lori Foster hasn't allowed a change in romance structure to stop her from writing fun and realistic sex scenes. Each love scene was essential to the characters' relationships and development.

I did knock off one star because Maris' love story wasn't nearly as compelling as Joy's, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the book as a whole.

Overall, I really hope Lori Foster continues to put out books in this style. I feel like Ms. Foster is treating me to double the romance with a dash of female friendships, and I love it.

I wasn't impressed with the first book in this series, Cooper's Charm, but Lori Foster is one of my favorite romance authors. This is a twofer romance and it is very sweet, if you ignore the plot flaws, the angst and the insta-lust. It has a cute kid and a cute dog and everyone lives Happily Ever After.

Joy and Royce - Joy was disowned by her wealthy parents when she got married to a bum, got pregnant and got divorced. She works at Cooper's Charm RV Resort as the recreation director and the resort is home and the employees are her family. Royce cared for his mother with dementia until she died, putting his life on hold to care for her. He bought the old drive-in theater, a fixer-upper home and wants his life to be unencumbered. Until he meets Joy and her son Jack.

Maris and Deron - Maris is the owner of Summer's End, the store and diner at Cooper's Charm. She grew up poor and is determined never to be again. Devon is the maintenance manager and has been after Maris forever. She just brushes off his flirting because she thinks him nothing more than a player. Devon is a very levelheaded guy and knows that Maris is "it" for him.

I have been reading Lori Foster’s books for years and like her other books, this one DOES NOT disappoint!

Great story about how the friendship bond between Joy and Maris grows from friends to more like sisters.

Two romance stories which can have you laughing at times (Maris & Daron) but where you can also see the love and care they each have for each other. Also, the growing bond between Royce and Jack, how cute!!!

I can’t wait for the next book! I can never stop saying it “Another great read, Lori”!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.

I loved getting to see more of Maris in this story. The pairs really compliment each other in the book! I loved the little boy to pieces. I enjoy when kids and animals are added to the mix. You also get reminded that just because you "think" you know someone, they may surprise you! Lori has yet to disappoint, and this is no exception!! I can't wait for the next book! Grab this, you won't regret it! NetGalley provided an ARC for an honest review.:)

SISTERS OF SUMMER’S END is the second instalment in Lori Foster’s contemporary, adult SUMMER RESORT romance series focusing on the men and women who live and work at the lakeside resort Cooper’s Charm in Woodbine, Ohio. This is thirty year old, single mother and recreation director Joy Lee, and drive-in owner Royce Nakirk’s story line. SISTERS OF SUMMERS END can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. There is also a secondary romance developing between camp store owner Maris Kennedy, and handyman Daron Hardy.

Told from several third person perspectives including Royce and Joy SISTERS OF SUMMERS END follows the building relationship between single mother and recreation director Joy Lee, and drive-in owner Royce Nakirk, Six years earlier Joy Lee found herself pregnant and alone but hoping to make a new life she settled into Cooper’s Charm lakeside resort where she would become the recreational director and find a new family with the people for whom she worked and loved. Fast forward to present day wherein Joy will come face to face with the drive-in’s new owner Royce Nakirk that has her reconsidering her self-imposed life as a single mother. What ensues is the building friendship and relationship between Royce and Joy, and the potential fall-out as Joy’s past offers her a second chance- for a price.

Meanwhile camp store owner Maris Kennedy is oblivious to the attention of handyman Daron Hardy. Always serving the customers and the people with whom she lives and works, Maris is blind to Daron’s attention including the subtle flirtatious jibs and jibes.
The relationship between Joy and Royce is one of immediate attention but Joy tends to keep to herself as she is a single mother trying to make it on her own. Having been tossed aside by the father of her child, then her own parents, Joy struggles with opening her heart to another possible failed relationship. The $ex scenes are passionate but mostly implied.

The secondary and colorful supporting characters include Cooper Cochran and his wife Phoenix Rose, as well as Phoenix’ sister Ridley (Cooper’s Charm #1), as well as Joy’s son Jack, and her parents Cara and Wallace Reed. The friendships and camaraderie between the employees at Cooper’s Charm is sweet, loving and protective.

SISTERS OF SUMMER’S END is a story of family, friendships, romance and love The premise is entertaining and endearing; the romance is tender; the characters are energetic and spirited. SISTERS OF SUMMERS END is the perfect beach read for a lazy summer afternoon

Wonderful woman’s fiction by one of the best. Lori Foster has been a favorite of mine for years. Her stories are so real. The book revolves around Joy and Maris. Joy is a single mom, making her living running a lakeside resort and wanting to make it on her own.. Maris runs the Camp Store/ Restaurant, and having grown up very poor, and basically unloved by her parents, wants security and a home. They form their own little club, calling it the Sisters of Summers End, and the reader watches as they both grow into themselves, and fall in love. They encourage each other all the way. Loved the female/sisterly vibe. I thought the guys were well written, and although very different, both realized they needed these women. For me, this was a great read!

Another great read in the Summer Resort Series. This time a round it's Maris and Joy to find love and happiness. Both ladies are fighting the battle of I'm independent and don't need any man's help. They will learn it's not that the man takes over, it's that he is a partner. Jack is such a wonderful 5 year old little boy. Again Lori makes you fall in love with everyone at Cooper's Charm. This book will make you laugh, shed some tears, steam of the pages and just give you the biggest feels.
