Joy has been a devoted single mom. She has set out to make the best life for her son Jack after everyone in her life turned their backs on her when she became pregnant. She decided she didn't need anyone, but overtime the people of Cooper's Charm, the RV park she has worked at since before she had Jack, start to work their way into her heart and become family. But when a hot new guy comes to town and buys the drive in, is she ready to let love in again?

Reece comes to this small town hoping to make a life for himself after spending most of his life taking care of his ill mother. What he doesn't expect is to be so attracted to the entertainment director of the RV park, Cooper's Charm. But Joy and her son Jack quickly crash into his life and take a hold. Can Reece and Joy get over their pasts in order to move forward and have a life and future together?

As always Lori Foster does not disappoint. This is a well written contemporary romance with characters that you immediately fall in love with and cannot get enough of. Sisters of Summer's End leaves me wanting more. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

"Family is what you make of it, and who you choose to make it with... "

I immediately fell in love with Joy, Jack, Royce and the rest of the RV resort family. I loved how they each had different backgrouns, but at the end of the day they all had each others backs.
Sisters of Summer's End is most certainly a book you wont want to put down and one you will want to last forever. I had a special sweet spot for sweet little Jack.
I was given an ARC of this book, these are my honest thoughts and opinions.

Another great book by this author that will leave you with all the good feelings. Joy has started working at the drive-in after her divorce and she and her young son are getting by and rebuilding their lives. Maris has ran the camp store at Summer's End and she and Joy form a strong and binding relationship like sisters. Now they both have a chance at romance, even if it not what either is looking for. Royce is the owner of the drive-in and perfect for Joy and Jack and when you add in the puppy, who could resist that. Maris, oh, she tries to deny her feelings but Daron is something special. This was a slow starter but once it got going it was hard to put down! Definitely worth a recommendation from me.

Joy Lee left her old life behind when she found out that she was pregnant. Her parents disowned her and the baby's father divorced her and left way before he was even born. She finds herself at a lakeside resort, the owner giving her the chance she needs to make it on her own and she hasn't looked back since. She keeps everyone at a distance though, her son is her main priority and she doesn't have time for a life of her own. Even though she has spent her whole time at the resort basically keeping to herself Maris another worker there breaks through and starts up a friendship that they both end up needing. She challenges Joy to step outside her boundaries and give the new man in town a chance. Maris herself has spent her whole life working in hopes of making her dreams come true, now that she owns her business at the resort she is saving for a home that she can call her own. She doesn't have time for relationships either and is constantly denying herself a chance at happiness. Follow along as these two new friends help each other work through the pitfalls of not only their new friendship but also the relationships they are both trying have but avoid at the same time. This was a wonderful read that shows you what true friendship is about and what all it can truly be. Follow as these two friends both fall in love and look out for each other in the process.

Home is where the heart is and family is who you allow in your life, not necessarily blood relatives. Joy is a single mother who left her family when she was disowned due to a decision she made as a young woman. Finding herself in somewhat dire straits, she wound up working for a resort that afforded her the opportunity to raise her son, Jack. Royce is a man who is dealing with some personal demons of his own when he purchases the drive in with the idea of restoring it to its former glory. Joy heads to the drive in to discuss having the resort use its facilities for their campers as had been done with the previous owner. When Joy sees Royce, she is instantly attracted to him but holds herself back. When she heads back to the resort café, her friend Maris is there encouraging her to go after that man. Maris should take her own advice as another resort worker, Daron, has had his eyes on her but she has been keeping him at arm’s length. Can both women get past their feelings to learn to trust in love? This is one well written, emotional and touching storyline that feels as if the reader is actually there with the characters. The pièce de résistance is the adorable puppy Chaos who will melt your heart.

I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book provided by Netgalley.

Perfect beach read. While this is the second in the series it can be read as a stand alone. But be sure to take it along to wherever you go this summer because it is a perfect book to take on vacation.

The characters are light hearted and sweet, there are so many emotions scenes in this book but I don’t always mean sad or heavy. A lot of fun, kindness, love and enjoyment are in this book.

And for any woman who has a unbiological sister this story will go straight to the heart… like it did mine.

Lori Foster has given us a sweet, lighthearted two-for-one romance. As we see both Joy and Maris find romance, we also get to see them build a friendship. I think this budding female friendship adds so much to the book! Joy is a single mother that has a hard time trusting people, so even letting Maris in is a big step for her. I think it also makes it easier for her to explore the potential with Royce, even if they both say that it's just sex. And Maris is a total hard ass, but for good reasons. Seeing her and Daron come closer is such a treat. This book is a wonderful journey of building bonds and letting people in.

Thank you so much to Harlequin for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Sweetly satisfying read. Joy and Royce overcome their own personal struggles as they find love with each. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The RV resort of Cooper’s Charm seems to be a place for healing and the is true for long term residents/employees Joy and Maris.

It was a pleasure to see both women embrace growing friendships and see the changes they make for themselves lead to new relationships. Royce and Darron are excellent romantic counterparts for the ladies and it’s fun to get to know them as well.

This is, as expected, a well written and enjoyable addition to the Coopers Charm series. The primary characters are appealing and the conflicts they face are engaging. While this is a complete stand alone, there are glimpses of previous featured characters in the secondary cast that allow readers to see their progress.

There’s just something about a small lake town romance to put you in the mood for summer reading, even if the story is set at the end of the summer season for the characters.

In keeping with the style of Cooper’s Charm the first book the  Summer Resort series, Sisters of Summer’s End is set in an RV park within a small town. Both novels also have a main romance with a secondary romance.

The main couple is Joy and Royce. Joy is a single mother who left her family about 6 years ago because they gave her the choice to leave her bum of a husband and not have their child or stay and keep living the rich life with them. For Joy, there was no choice to be made. She left her family behind to have and raise her son Jack.

Royce comes to the small town after losing his mother. He gave up his personal life for the last few years to take care of his mother who had dementia. Royce bought the drive-in theater and a fixer-upper house in hopes of settling down and reclaiming his life without any entanglements.

Joy lives for Jack, so she is a mom first, but she’s been lonely and when she meets Royce she starts having feelings. They have chemistry that won’t be denied. Trying to work out a time to be together for sexy times is hard because Joy never uses a babysitter for Jack. That’s where the other budding couple comes in.

Maris and Daron have been circling each other for a few years. Well, Daron more so since Maris won’t give in to him. She has an issue with him being six years younger than her, and because of the age difference, she is convinced he’s a frat boy jumping from woman to woman.

Daron surprises Maris by how mature he really is. He’s always laughing and joking around, but he’s more settled into adulthood than she is.

Maris and Joy go from friendly acquaintances to best friends to sisters over the span of the story. They help each other out with their man issues and pep talk each other into letting the guys into their lives and eventually into their hearts.

Daron and Royce both have their work cut out for them with strong and stubborn women. It’s sweet, funny and sexy to see these two couples get their HEA by the end of Sisters of Summer’s End.

If you’re in the mood for a romance with a single mom, great kiddo, sexy as sin newcomer with a side of a secondary romance between two fun side characters you should try Sisters of Summer’s End by Lori Foster. You won’t have to read the first book, Cooper’s Charm, to enjoy, but why not try both!  I look for to the next installment in the Summer Resort series.

I enjoyed catching up with the characters from the past book and learning about the new ones. I thought it was a nice heartwarming read. I want to vacation at this RV park! Sounds fun!

Welcome to Cooper’s Charm, the RV resort with everything even a romance or two.

The Sisters of Summer’s End, book two in Lori’s fantastic Summer Resort series is a great summer read even though it takes place in the fall. Set in Cooper’s Charm RV resort it brings back the characters of book one, but delves more deeply into the lives of Joy, Maris and Daron plus introduces us to new drive-in owner Royce.

As Lori unpeels the layers of her star characters for this novel she’ll focus on misconceptions, new beginnings and families whether chosen or born into while spinning two fabulous love stories and introduces an new fab four legged friend.

The plot is rock solid, the pace is steady and both the human and canine characters rock making this a must read for fans of romance or women’s fiction and a great choice for either your vacation or staycation This novel stands on its own but reading the books in order will fill in all the blanks

Joy Lee is used to being alone, relying only on herself to care for herself and her young son Jack but since coming to Cooper’s Charm the RV resort where she works and lives she’s found a sort of family, especially Maris owner/operator of the camp store, Summer’s End whose become like a sister. So when the new hunky owner of the Drive-In wakes up her libido she’s glad she’s got Maris to confide in.

Royce Nakirck has big plans for the run down Drive-In theatre he bought right next to a successful RV resort. He also needs to focus just on himself after years of caring for his dying mother. He’s not looking for love or a ready made family. But sometimes you get things you don’t ask for.

Maris Kennedy needs to be self-reliant because of how she grew up. She loves Cooper’s Charm and is very proud of the success of her camp store. What she doesn’t need is the park’s hot young playboy handyman sniffing around as she has no desire to be a notch on someone’s bedpost. But what if she’s wrong about him? Is she brave enough to take a chance? She’s just glad she’s now got Joy her new BFF to ask about it.

Daron Hardy is about out of options and ideas to gain a second look from the sexy camp-store owner. He just wants a chance to prove to her that he’s more than she thinks he is.

SISTERS OF SUMMER'S END is an amazingly poignant story of not only sisterhood without the blood ties but love that is meant to be. Author Lori Foster takes her readers back to the lakeside resort that so many of us would love to visit, Cooper's Charm, and gives us another chance to visit favorites.

It has been a while since I’ve read this author and her talent to weave a tale has not vanished. This is a heartwarming and somewhat tear jerking story about Joy Lee, a single mom who simply wants to protect her child and provide for them both after being abandoned by her wealthy family. Working at a resort in Summer’s End provides her a home and the safety of a small community. Also working at the resort is Maris Kennedy, a woman who came from nothing and fearlessly protects those around her. Together they learn how to trust again, enough to also begin to let men into their lives.

Just enough steam to be real but not enough to make you feel embarrassed to read in public. Requisite HEA of course but the journey to that point is well worth the read this summer.

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for the review.

A delightful read filled with the adventures of a single mom, an adorable puppy and 2 friends finding each other and men that they love. Sisters of Summer's End is the second book of this series. I found it just as entertaining as the first. Joy is a single mom to a fabulous little boy Jack. She is one that has been closed off to men and well even not one to get close to anyone. That is until Maris pushes her way in and they both help each other over come their past. Maris is simply lovely. You can feel the chemistry between Maris and Daron and Joy and Royce from the very beginning. This is a story of finding friendships, mending the past, finding family that isn't blood and the healing power love can bring. This is such a beautiful read that I couldn't put down.

Sisters of Summer’s End by Lori Foster
Summer Resort #2

What a delightful way to spend the day! I returned to Cooper’s Charm RV Resort in Ohio and visited with old friends while making a few new ones. I was able to watch two couples find happily ever afters and two women become closer than sisters. I had a smile on my face at various times in the story and have one on my face as I write this review. Joy Lee, recreation director, is a single mother that puts her son Jack first and gives him the type of childhood she did not have. When she meets Royce Nakirk for business to discuss cooperation between the campground and his drive-in theater they are both quite taken with one another. I absolutely loved the way this couple got together and pursued the relationship between them. Royce with Jack was a treat for the two of them and for Joy and also for me. When they found an abandoned injured puppy and added took it home...it added one more wonderful character to the story.

Marisa owns Summer’s End store and diner located on Cooper’s Charm. Everyone stops in daily for coffee and her delicious cookies and as the story begins she and Joy begin to become better friends. She encourages Joy to step out of her comfort zone and pursue some fun with Royce but isn’t so sure about doing the same when the tables are turned and Joy suggests she pursue some fun of her own with Daron. Marisa and Daron so deserved to be together and watching it happen was another part of the story that had me smiling once again.

Sure, there were some aspects of the book that were heavier…backstories and childhoods and dealing with parents but the strength the characters in the book derived from dealing with those hard times only made this story better.

I actually hated having the book end. Why? I would really like to return to Cooper’s Charm for another story BUT didn’t see any characters mentioned that might show up in book three of the series...unless...if I am lucky...there are people that come to visit, vacation or work at the resort in a future book.

Thank you to NetGalley, HQN and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Sisters of Summer’s End is a decent little story about two women who take a leap into bigger and better things after a lifetime of insular attitudes.  While the book pulls focus on one of the romantic relationships fostered by one of our heroines, the best part of the story is their newfound friendship and how they become nurtured by and rooted in it.

Single mother Joy Lee is trying to keep her head above water while raising her five-year-old son Jack.  She’s been working as an activities director at Cooper’s Charm, a lakeside RV resort, since he was in utero; thanks to the generous terms of her employment, she lives at the resort in a small apartment, and busies herself otherwise by centering her world entirely around Jack.  She’s comfortable in  Woodbine, Ohio, with her multiple work friends, but she’s still afraid to open up to other people and new relationships. Burned by her cheating ex and her disowned by her distant, rich parents for marrying him, she’s learned that it’s best to keep most people at a distance.

Joy’s been aware of the self-contained but incredibly kind Maris Kennedy for a while yet has never had a real conversation with her until now.  Maris has been working at the resort’s camp store, Summer’s End, for much longer than Joy’s been in Cooper’s Charm, and has been closed off from others from much longer than that. When the pair of them begin chatting over morning coffee, it’s Maris who nudges Joy back into the dating scene – and Joy who pushes Maris into reconsidering her own lonely, closed-off life.

Joy is smitten at first sight with the handsome Royce Nakirk when he hangs out at Summer’s End.  Royce, who has been busy attending the deathbed of his grandmother for the past year, hasn’t had romance on his mind either; he’s trying to learn the ropes of running the drive-in that he’s inherited.  Royce and Joy try to keep things platonic as they work out a special event at the drive-in for the resort’s customers, but the more time they spend together, the deeper into love they fall.  Things threaten to change when Joy’s grandmother passes away and a stipulation in her will requires Joy to spend time with the people she hates the most. Can she do it?

Meanwhile, Maris begins a flirtation with Daron Hardy, the twenty-five-year-old camp handyman.  Maris has never put her employment before her personal life – a childhood filled with poverty has ensured that she values her job above all else.  When a dog named Chaos enters their lives and begins to pull them together, will she too have the courage to reach out and enjoy life?

Sisters of Summer’s End is a slice of warm and sweet women’s fiction, but it’s sometimes an awkward fit for Lori Foster’s erotica-heavy storytelling methods.  The story gets sporadically sacrificed for another sex scene the narrative doesn’t need to propel it along its winding pathway. The friendship between Maris and Joy ends up being much more interesting than the two love stories, but those romances also aren’t the most original things on the planet.  Yet the character work is charming, and the story engagingly told enough to earn a qualified recommendation.

Of the two women, I found Joy the more emotionally accessible, though Maris is a closed-off mystery for a little longer than she is for a good narrative reason.  Both are relatable young women who have years left to live but are so walled off it requires someone exactly like them to make a hole and let the sunshine in.  This does mean that they act in occasionally juvenile ways when they’re together; their lack of social experience in the romance department goes a long way to explain the way they react to the re-entrance of romance into their lives.  But the central relationships were all good, even heartwarming, to watch play out.

A few of the late-book conflicts didn’t work for me.  After all they’d been through I didn’t buy that Joy would think that Royce was after her for her money.  Meanwhile, Maris’ resistance to the realization that Daron’s sexually attracted to her – even after they’d made love – made a lot more sense.  There are also a lot of cute dog and kid antics, and of those I’d take Chaos’ gambolings over Jack’s; sometimes he felt a little too cardboard to be believable.

But in spite of my small quibbles with its storytelling methods, Sisters of Summer’s End is a fine summer beach read, and Foster’s fans are bound to love it.

The one thing I love about reading a Lori Foster book is how easy they always are to get into. I also enjoy the characters she comes up with. They are never perfect, they have the same faults and issues we have which makes them so...us!

Sisters of Summer's End has so much going on yet it doesn't feel too busy. There are two love stories. The first one is the main story, the ones that are most forward in the book is between Joy and Royce and the secondary love story is Maris and Daron.

Joy & Royce
I totally loved Joy. Not many people could come from the life she did and totally take care of herself and a young baby. She shows just how strong she really is. Through all the hard times she's a great mom and that's all a kid can ask for.

Royce is no stranger to taking care of people who can't take care of themselves either. He stepped up when he needed to and you have to love him for that.

What I love about these two are their caring natures. They put those who count on them ahead of themselves. Royce past ended with his moms passing but Joy wasn't so lucky. She had to deal with a horrible, controlling mother who thought she could tell you, adult child, what to do. I really disliked her. But I did love how Royce was there for her throughout her interactions with her parents. It was about time someone stood with Joy, not against. I also liked how much Royce liked Joy's son and how they got along. Kids should always come first.

Joy and Royce's story is very enjoyable. You'll like them and want them to get together.

Maris & Daron
I think all of us who read the first book wondered when this would happen. I mean, come on...we knew he wanted her. Maris was a different story, she kept everything close to her chest.

Like Joy, Maris had some issues in her past. Ones that really molded her into the women she is today. Where she is a wonderful, caring and capable women the child in her was very neglected. Sad to say her parents sucked. I almost think they were worse than Joy's in some ways.

I think the only person in the group who hasn't yet been touch by life's more uncomfortable aspects is Daron. He has a loving family and has really done well for himself. One of the things I like most about him is just how caring he is. He's a great guy.

Perfect for Maris. She needs someone like Daron who will just love her and need nothing from her other than her love. Someone she can count on when she needs them. It's what she's missed in life and I'm glad she's now got it.

Even though their story wasn't the main focus it was very well done and you felt it was just as important as Joy's and Royce's.

The whole book
As a whole, this book is very good. I enjoyed that the characters from the first book were there to tie the two stories together. They stayed in their lanes so they didn't overshadow the new couples. Well done.

I also really enjoyed the story between Joy and Maris. I love reading about how their friendship (sisterhood) blossomed. These two fit as friends and let's be honest here no other two people ever need a friend more than them.

This series has been perfect and I'm so glad I read it.
