Jake Buchanan is offered a job he can't refuse, so while flying to meet his new boss he encounters another passenger he feels he knows. Clara Stowe can't help but keep glancing at her seat mate because she feels like she knows him. They talk for a while and realize that although they feel they are familiar they can't remember meeting. Clara admits her reason for flying to her destination is to commit suicide and then she disappears in a crowd. This begins an intense roller coaster ride where no one is who they say they are and no one can be trusted.
The story grabs you and although sometimes confusing it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

This one got off to an intriguing starting. The Dead Girl in 2A isn’t about a dead person in an apartment as I assumed but the seat of a plane.

Jake Buchannan knows the woman sitting next to him on his business flight to Denver—he just can’t figure out how he knows her. Clara Stowe isn’t in Jake’s line of work and didn’t go to college with him. They have nearly nothing in common apart from a deep and shared certainty that they’ve met before. Despite their best efforts over a probing conversation, both struggle to figure out what circumstances could possibly have brought them together. Then, in a revelation that sends Jake reeling, Clara admits she’s traveling to the Colorado mountains to kill herself, and disappears into the crowded airport immediately after landing.

The Dead Girl in 2A is the story of what happens to Jake and Clara after they get off that plane, and the manipulative figure who has brought them together decades after they first met.

I figured there was a link between them and definitely someone who planned out their seemingly random meeting. The book is like a puzzle with random pieces that all come together. If you like the themes of childhood, flashbacks, and repressed memories, this is for you!

Two people meet on a plane. They both suffer from memory issues but know each other. At the airport, they separate and continue their journey.
I liked the plot - all eas explained to satisfaction. Suspense could have been heightened.

This was kind of a bizarre one, not at all what I expected. Jake and Clara meet on a flight and are both convinced they know each other in some way but can't figure out how. She also informs him that she is on her way to kill herself. Things take a pretty strange turn from there on, borderline science fiction. I don't really want to give anything away, but this is definitely not your typical "somebody gets murdered" suspense novel. It wasn't what I would normally read, and while it was okay, I didn't love it. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.

Thriller, creepy, manipulation, paranoia, fast-paced, suspense-If these words are what you like to read in a book, you should definitely choose this one.

The story mostly revolves around Jake & a woman he sat next to on a plane, Clara. They feel a deep connection, although they are sure they never met before. Clara confides in Jake that she plans on committing suicide. The story immediately takes off from there. You must read to fully comprehend the story-line.

My very favorite thing about Wilson and why I will continue to keep reading him is that his books are nowhere near cookie cutter plots! I read so many of this genre that I have picky taste now and it's refreshing to read a plot you've never read elsewhere. Man, I hate giving an author I really love a 2 star rating but this one from him just wasn't my favorite of his books. The beginning had promise - I was enjoying the writing style and couldn't guess what was going to happen. I was intrigued that there may be a sci-fi element to this book. But around half way through I find myself bored. Certain situations were drawn out much longer than they needed to be, there was a lot of filler that left me confused as to its purpose, and there started to be a lot of repetition when you were finding out about their past. I haven't felt this way about his other books so it left me skimming during the second half. Again, I hate giving these types of reviews on authors I highly enjoy and respect however this one wasn't for me. However I really love Comfort of Black, Mister Tender's Girl, & Revelation!

What a delightfully intricate and unique premise, written with clarity and insight into the human condition...the frailties as well as the strengths. What begins as curious soon becomes infuriatingly elusive, and the empathy with the characters was charged. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I believe you will, too. Read it!

I was first really intrigued by the premise of this book and was not disappointed. Not at all what I was expecting from it, but a good book nonetheless. The characters have real flaws that make you able to understand their motives.

What a surprise this book was. I guess I was expecting something different to read but I really liked how it turned out. Two people Jake and Clara meet on the plane and they have this feeling that they know each other from somewhere. They also suffer from memory loss. What else connects this two? This book is unique and definitely a page turner with a lot of twists.

Jake takes a flight to Denver for a work trip and sits next to Clara Stowe. They both feel an intense sudden connection with one another but they don't know why. Clara tells Jake she is flying to Denver to kill herself. This ignites the story into high gear as we learn about Jake & Clara's lost memories and where they go after their encounter with one another.
I typically don't gravitate towards novels in the thriller genre but this plot had me very intrigued. The concept was compelling, powerful and profound. I honestly couldn't keep from turning the page. It was full of twists, had moments of creepiness and left a cliffhanger at the end of practically each chapter. I especially loved the alternating POVs - the characters kept me invested in the story. The ending left me wanting a little more but the author did an excellent job wrapping up loose ends and addressing each moving part.

This is my first book I have ever read by Carter Wilson and it was terrific and it won't be my last book to read by this author. It is about a man named Jake and a woman named Clara who meet on a plane and are sitting next to each other. They both feel they know each other but cannot place where they have met before. They are in fact connected in many ways, I truly find this book hard to review in depth because I am afraid to give away any spoilers. Once I started reading this book I could stop till I finished it. It is one of the most unusual books I have ever read, truly fascinating and a true page turner. It had so many twists and turns and as the book progresses I finally see what is happening. I highly recommend this book and it is a true psychological thriller and I immensely enjoyed reading it. This was a crazy read, in a good way. one of those thrillers that seem too good to be true but you just have to get to the end of the story. I really recommend this book.

This book is very well written. It pulled me in almost right away and kept me interested until the very end. I will definitely be recommending this to the customers at my work!

This is my first adventure with a Carter Wilson story - and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip!  

It has happened to all of us.  You see someone in a store or restaurant, you are introduced to someone at a party, you sit next to someone on an airplane ... and you are certain the you know them - but you just can't seem to remember HOW you know them.  This is the story of just such an encounter.

Jake Buchanon needs money for his daughter's medical treatments.  When he is offered a ghost writing job at an exorbitant fee, he jumps at the opportunity ...  and jumps on a plane to Denver.  Clare Wilson needs to end her own life.  She is boarding a plane to Denver and her ticket has been upgraded to first class,  seat 2A, right next to Jake Buchanon.  Jake and Clare are sure that they have met before, but they don't remember where.  The Dead Girl in 2A is their story.

This book has the all the makings of an easy transition from page to film.

This definitely kept me awake at night and on the edge of my seat!

Scopolamine, the drug that figures heavily in the plot, was the drug of choice in childbirth in the 60’s. It was combined with morphine and called Twilight Sleep. The purpose of giving it to birthing mothers was to cause them to forget the pain and rigors of childbirth. Yes, it did that to me but it also gave me ongoing nightmares for over a year.

The reason I’m giving this personal experience is to validate and verify the effects of the drug cited in this book. Some of the elements of the plot seem a bit far fetched, but sadly, they’re really not.

The Dead Girl in 2A had my full attention from the very beginning and had me guessing until the very end! It was such a captivating and twisted ride. I'll definitely check out the rest of Carter Wilson's novels.
