The “Matchmaker” in Last Stand, Texas, has Dr. Graham McBride in her sights. She knows the perfect match for Graham is Bella Benson. Bella has lived in Last Stand for the past four years and owns her own beauty salon. She has a crush on Graham, but knows that he would never be interested in her. Graham, who is a cardiothoracic surgeon, is divorced and doesn’t have time for a committed relationship. When Graham finally asks her for a date, she agrees and realizes that it would be so easy to fall in love with him. As they continue dating, Graham realizes that he is getting too close to Bella. He won’t admit that he could be falling in love with her. After his painful divorce, when his wife cheated on him, he doesn’t know if he could go through the loss again. Does he want to risk his heart again? His family all like Bella, but he explains again that they are just dating…nothing serious. Really? A very sweet romance with “sizzle” where you can just enjoy and lose yourself in the story and characters. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. What a great book. I love Eve Gaddy, her books are always so full of emotions & enjoyment. Bella & Graham are a dynamic pair, they’re strong, sexy, sweet, vulnerable & endearing. I enjoyed the humour & love that Graham’s family brought to the story, as well as the ever changing hair colour of Bella. Both have been hurt by love & both are sure nothing serious is what they want but reality has news for them, serious is where they’re headed. Mistakes are made because questions aren’t asked & feelings aren’t spoken. When light finally dawns, we see the real feelings come shining through & endearing steps that are taken to bring them together again. Definitely recommend. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was one of many on my TBR list, but after reading it I decided that I would not delete it because it was so good that I want to read it again. I can’t remember any other book that I’ve felt that way about.

I really liked the flow of this book and the strong female character (Bella). Graham definitely had to work his way back into her good graces.

This book was not for me. I felt that Bella's "Unique" qualities were contrived, and Graham got on my nerves.

Heart of the Texas Doctor is everything a lover of romance could wish for. A heroine who hasn’t always had it easy, but has thrived and made something of herself. Bella is kind, smart and the sort of woman you wish lived next door. Graham McBride has his own heartbreak he’s never really gotten over and he’s determined to stay single, but good manners dictate he be gracious when the local matchmaker introduces him to Bella. She’s unique in his experience and he’s drawn, in spite of his resolve to say uninvolved. Throw in a cast of meddling friends and family and a fun Texas town called Last Stand and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Grab a cup of your favorite brew, a snack or two and don’t plan to get up until you reach the very satisfying end.

I loved this first in series in Last Stand, Texas, a close neighbor of Whiskey River. Graham McBride is a successful surgeon with a painful divorce in his past. He meets the younger, lively Bella, a successful small business owner. She had a couple of cheating exes and finds it difficult to trust men. Both of them claim to not be looking for the long term but they fall hard and fast. Bella is worried she is not “good enough” for a successful surgeon from a well-established family - a concern that a woman Graham briefly dated in the past exploits. Graham missteps and has to earn back Bella’s trust - not an easy task - as he confronts his own demons from his first marriage and his fears about falling in love again.

For a smart successful surgeon, Graham is clueless. I feel so bad for Bella, and was so happy when he started his "get Bella back" scheme. Bella is perfect for Graham. She is so much fun, yet can be very serious when needed.

Easy to read story about a dedicated doctor who doesn't want to get involved with anyone after a messy divorce. He meets Bella who is his opposite and they eventually work out their problems with the help or Bella s cat. Enjoyed book.

Heart of the Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy was just such a delightful read that I simply could not put down. I love the feel of books like this, that are well written, have great settings and characters, as well as a perfect story line. Put in a lot of romance, family and town respect as well as pride in your work, you have yourself a great story.
This is the first book in a new series called "Heart of Texas" and I for one can´t wait to read more.

A great start to a new series, Heart of the Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy. Book one in the Heart of Texas series. Enjoyed the characters got a kick out of the cat. Great dialogue and storyline. I've enjoyed other books by author and I look forward to reading more of them. I can't wait to see what the other authors add with their books to the Heart of Texas series.

A friend with benefits story. Neither were looking for a long term relationship so it worked for both of them. They got closer than either intended and that’s when their relationship faltered. It was an okay read for me. I didn’t really click with the male character. Graham was older than Bella but to me, a lot more immature. Bella is strong, gets the trusts she deserves, and at the end she is the perfect match for Graham and just what he needs. I enjoyed the authors writing. The scenes, locations, characters, their thoughts were wonderfully descriptive. I liked the siblings of Graham and look forward to reading their stories.

I enjoyed this book and especially, the heroine! Bella and Graham are set up by the town's matchmaker. Graham is a cardiac doctor (although we aren't really given much insight into what he does) and Bella is a successful hair salon owner. She is quite a bit younger than Graham but acts older. I loved her strength in believing in herself. In fact she is the stronger and more dominant person in this relationship. She makes Graham work for her trust and doesn't give in easily. Overall, this was a great book. I would recommend this and I look forward to the next one in this series.

I enjoyed the small town setting of this novel, as well as the main and secondary characters. I liked that the community and kinship was believable. Even though the main characters, Graham and Bella, cared about each other and had attraction to one another, he had been hurt by a previous failed marriage and when his relationship hesitancy hurt Bella, she didn't immediately forgive/forget. I think that's understandable and I liked that Bella didn't fall over herself to get her man back; she was a bit relationship shy of him in return until his actions proved his sincerity.

A good story. Graham is a doctor in small town Texas. Bella owns the hair salon in town, and is a good match for the doctor. I liked the story, the characters, the cat Abby, but seemed to have a lot of sex, which is fine, but would like more balance of building a relationship besides just the physical one. Didn't see as strong of an emotional as well as physical connection. Other than that, I would highly recommend this book.

Graham is a man who knows his attributes, “believe it. Although, I am good at bull****ting,” he added modestly, as they left the shop." Graham is quite the animal man, “I like cats. And dogs. And horses. And other critters. I grew up on a ranch, remember?” Bella knows how to make her man work for things, “yeah. Anyway, she texted me three days later —three freaking days —and told me she’d meet me at the coffee shop.” I liked this book, I loved Graham.

The story of Graham and Bella.

Yet again the town matchmaker is trying to set them up. Graham is a surgeon at the local hopsital, shy of relationships after his divorce 10 years ago. Bella is younger than him and a hairdresser in town.

They are opposite in many ways, but good for each other, but will they let their differences drive them apart, and can they both learn to trust again after being hurt in the past?

I liked how it overlaps with other books, so the same incidents are seen from different points of view.

Looking forward to the rest of this series.

The first story in what promises to be another winning Tule Publishing series. In typical Eve Gaddy style, the characters are relatable and memorable, the dialog perfectly paced to keep the pages turning, and all encapsulated within a story that’ll steal your heart. I’m certainly looking forward to the remaining authors’ contributions to the series.
