I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

4.5 stars - How far will a mother go to find the truth about her daughter’s apparent suicide…

Kat will stop at nothing to find out the truth about her daughter, she will exhaust every avenue, even if it kills her…

The book is definitely more character development focus, which I can find tedious sometimes. However, this one kept me on my toes! The story included misdirections which made the book quite unpredictable and contained multiple surprises!

Such a great roller-coaster psychological thriller!

5 Stars! Only Daughter is the second Sarah A. Denzil I've read and it was just as good as the first one I read! This psychological thriller is about Kat that finds out that her daughter has died and when the police tell her that it was a suicide, she does not believe them. Kat starts her own search for answers into her daughter, Grace's, death. She finds more than she thought as she searches through her daughter's things and the journey into her past is filled with shocks, secrets, twists and turns!

A good read with an interesting plot but unfortunately it was a little too slow paced to hold my full attention.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for my advanced ebook copy.

I enjoyed getting to know Kat and even though she had been diagnosed with a personality disorder how fiercely protective she felt towards her daughter. You follow Kat as she investigates what happened to Grace realising that she hadn't known everything about her life even though they were close. Had these secrets killed her? Was she now in danger? I had to keep reading as I needed to know as much as Kat did about what really happened. Grace wasn't the only one with secrets.
I love a plot twist that shocks me even if it's tough to face.

A good book group choice.

Couldn't put it down! I just had to keep reading and devoured it in a few hours. I didn't expect the twist and it was cleverly done. Looking forward to more from the author!

I really enjoyed this book, though occasionally I did find myself getting distracted from it. It was quite a slow build up but once things unravelled, the pace quickened and I couldn't put it down. I'll definitely read more by this author again.

What a rollercoaster of a book! Every book I have read from this author has been gripping.
The story is about a young girl Grace that commits suicide, however her mum Kat does not believe that her daughter would do this and was intact murdered. Kat begins her own investigation which takes her right back to her own troubled past.
A truly brilliant read with lots of twists and turns along the way that kept me guessing right up to the explosive end!

I would give this book 3.5 stars.

This was a really interesting thriller.

I really enjoyed the psychological aspects of the novel surrounding the main character's diagnosis vs her love for her daughter and slowly discovering more of the main character's back story as well as more about her daughter's life.

This was such a page-turner. Sarah A Denzil really makes you question everyone and everything. A perfect thriller. I adored the depth of the characters and the realism of conditions. Fantastic world-building and original. Off I go to devour the next one.

This was very hokey to me. Everything seemed too poetic and the writing was just decent. I wouldn’t recommend this to friends.

Dark mystery that sucks you into a different place. A nightmare where no one wants to be. Good read. Can’t put it down. Wondering where it’s going to go And which way to turn

Parents only see the side of their children they want to see. The good student that volunteers may not be what the rest of the world knows. Sarah Denzil has built a story based on this fact. When Grace is notified that her daughter is dead from a suspected suicide, Grace refuses to believe the child she knows and loves would do this. The story moves quickly from this point as Grace has to reconcile her own past with the life she thought she'd built for her family. With characters the reader can easily identify with and a story line that is not quite what you expect, this was a good read.

Many years ago, Kat buried her secrets and restarted her life as a wife and mother. When her 17 year old daughter Grace is discovered in a popular suicide spot, she knows it was murder and she'll do anything to prove it. Through her investigation, she discovers her daughter had secrets of her own, and perhaps she really didn't know Grace like she thought she did.

This thriller was a surprisingly emotional tale of grief and revenge, and though you don't really know much about most of the characters they were all fleshed out in a way that made the dark subject matter easy to read. Not my favorite book of the year but still a stunning psychological thriller.

This was a psychological thriller, but so much more at the same time. There were some real layers to this book and I was enthralled the entire time.
