Mother has lost her only daughter to suicide -or that is what the police say. Is it her own fault? Is it her husband's fault? Her boyfriend, or her friends, or is someone else guilty. Like the cover art but have decided these psychological reads are not to my liking. A copy of this book was provided by Bookouture via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

I thought this book had a good storyline with some really interesting characters.
Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.

This was Sarah Denzil’s best book yet! It was well-written, well thought out, and perfectly executed!
The book was heart-breaking, exciting, gripping and a whole load of other awesome adjectives!
The funeral scene had me in tears as it was just heaped with emotion and articulated what I’m sure we all worry about. How will we be perceived? Are we sad enough? Are we grieving enough? Am I wearing the right clothes? (Although I’m sure when reality hits and we are faced with the death of an actual loved one none of these things matter!)
The twists at the end were exciting and unpredicted, but no matter what the outcome the fact remained that Grace was dead (this isn’t a spoiler as it is in the blurb and confirmed within the first couple of pages!). It didn’t matter in the end how she died or if anyone was responsible, Kat had still lost her daughter and this thought remained with me the entire way through the book. The book held onto this grief and sadness whilst Kat was fuelled with anger looking into Grace’s death.
Absolutely brilliant and without a doubt a five-star read!

This was definitely one of the must read psychologically thrillers of 2019. Very chilling throughout, with a topic that can’t help but jerk emotions from most. Well written, in a suspenseful, riveting, and chilling many, which delivers the amazing shocks, twists & turns, and of course chills most thriller fans love. A bit disturbing, but in the oh so good way.
Will be using in a challenge and making sure the members of Chapter Chatter Pub know about how much I recommend it!

Tricky psychological thriller .We lurch from drama to drama with the main character as she struggles with the death of her daughter. Surprising delegations show who is doing the manipulation.

Wow ! I pretty much ignored everything and everyone when I was reading this . When Kat and Charles discover their daughter is dead and she has committed suicide they are devastated , they soon realise that there where aspects of her life and personality that they knew nothing about . Kat refuses to believe Grace killed herself and tries to find out who murdered her , even though no one believes her . I loved Kat her thirst for vengeance and dark sense of humour really endeared her to me and I was rooting for her to find the truth . A brilliant read . Will certainly recommend .

Only Daughter is a twisted tale. Kat's daughter dies of an apparent suicide, but as she probes into her daughter's death she discovers her daughter was not whom she thought. First, Grace was pregnant and told lies and also did drugs, Kat has an unsavory past that she wants to forget, but turns out it is completely connected to what happened to her daughter, I figured out who was responsible for what was going on halfway through the book, but even I didn't see the ultimate twist at the end. Most of the characters were just vile and unlikable.

Only Daughter is a clear 5/5. I was hooked from the first page and had to cancel my plans for the rest of the day since I couldn't put it down! I don't know if Kat is supposed to be a likeable character but I loved her, she felt so real and while some of her actions could be seen as extreme I think most people would do the same. This is how thrillers should be, twisted and feel of suspense. Have already recommended to friends and will continue to do so!

Wow, just wow! I have only just recently started reading this authors books and think this is the fourth one of hers I have read. They have all been gripping reads but none more so than this one.

Right from the very first page, I was hooked. I pretty much read nearly all this book in one go as that was how compelling it was. Kat is not an overly likeable character, but as a mother, I totally connected with her and what she was going through.

No parent wants to believe their child has taken their own life. I was fully behind Kat in wanting answers and believing there was more to her daughters death than first meets the eye. As the story goes on, along with Kat, we find out more about her daughter and who she actually was. It really makes you question how well we truly know our children.

Only Daughter is a highly addictive read with so many twists and turns. I absolutely loved it! It had me questioning everyone and everything and I loved how much it messed with my head. It’s one of those books you want to rush and tell your friends about so they can read it to so you can talk about it, as that’s how much it blew my mind. Brilliant!

The writing is superb in this compelling story and the characters are totally believable as it the storyline, full of suspense and tragedy it’s the story of a daughter’s supposed suicide and her mother’s desperate bid to find out the truth and secret’s behind what really might have happened. First I want to send a huge thank you to Netgalley & Bookouture for my ARC of Only Daughter by Sarah Denzil!

This psychological thriller had me hooked from the very beginning. The characters were incredibly flawed, in their own ways, yet were relatable and kept you wanting to know more. There were jaw dropping twists and I truly felt like I was on this emotional roller coaster with Kat.
No parent should have to bury their child but when her daughter Grace is found dead Kat’s world comes crashing down. On a mission to find out what happened to her daughter Kat must dig through Grace’s life in order to get the answers she needs. In the end will Kate be able to uncover the truth & can she handle the answers if she does? Will she find out who her daughter was & what her final moments were like?

I have to say I would definitely recommend this book. Sarah Denzil has a way of writing that not only pulls you in but makes you think you know the answers before dropping another twist . I truly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more by this author.

Seventeen year old Grace was an ideal daughter. Her parents, Charles and Kat, are wealthy; they live n a 7 bedroom mansion. Grace attended private school and played violin for the school band. Her best friends, Alicia and Sasha, also played in the band.

Grace is dead. The coroner had called this a suicide. However, Kat was sure that her daughter had been happy and refused to believe that her daughter would take her own life. Kat has a history of being a bully and a "bad" girl twenty years ago. Therefore, she hesitates to go to the police. (She also has a mental illness and priors that make her credibility shaky.to the police)

This is a well-thought-out, exciting read. The characters are well-developed and the story is full of drama and lots of suspense.

The reader finds out that there had been many players involved in Grace's life. Grace's life is unraveled and we find out about some shocking details.

Was Grace's death a suicide or was she, in fact, murdered?

Another MUST READ! Twists galore that you don't see coming!!!

Many Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for a great read!

Another winner from one of my favorite authors.
This is a pacey psychological thriller with lots of secrets and twists maintaining a high level of intrigue and suspense from start to finish.

This novel also stands out with its believable plot and characters, so the situations and reactions feel authentic and like what could happen in real life, and this is a very positive aspect of a successful plot. Highly recommended.

Thanks Netgalley, Bookouture, and Sarah A. Denzil for a chance to read this exciting book.

Compelling psychological thriller from Sarah Denzil. Well constructed tale of unreliable witnesses and tragedies from childhood that stain who we were meant to be. Kat suffers a parent's worst nightmare when she loses her 17-year old daughter to a supposed suicide. As Kat tries to understand and unravel her daughter's secrets, the story becomes so twisted and diabolical. Will she survive the truth?

I've been a fan of Sarah A Denzil for a few years now, having read and enjoyed almost all of her fabulous books. Only Daughter is another example of Denzil's skill. Her characters are flawed yet relatable, utterly human, warts and all. Kat is a unique character - her background and her internal battles are, sadly, so very familiar to me, but it is refreshing to see through the eyes of such a strong, if dark, character.

Only Daughter gripped me from the beginning, that enticing prologue that managed to say so much in just a few short paragraphs. The journey Kat goes on to find out what happened to her daughter, Grace, is thrilling and emotional, and the twists are brilliant. A thoroughly gripping read.
