Implausible as can be (a mad scientist doctor into cryonics) but entertaining. Stone has written a page turner.

I really liked this author and this book did not disappoint, it was an appropriately paced, page turner that will have me hooked throughout the story.

This was a bit of a slog to get through to be honest. A predictable, yet long-winded story about unlikeable characters, not for me, sorry.

Really enjoyed the book. The subject matter was very dark and disturbing but it kept me gripped throughout. Can't wait to read more from the author!

I tried. I read the first ten chapters but the beginning was so boring that I just couldn’t continue.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

This thriller wowed me and I loved the way that Stone kept you guessing through the novel. I recommend this one if you like a good mystery.

I really like this author's books. I recommend this book as well as all the author's other books. I look forward to more books by Lisa Stone.

I really enjoyed this book! It seemed to end a little quicker than I was expecting, and I was slightly disappointed because I wasn’t quite ready for that to happen, but it didn’t take away from the book. I was hooked from beginning to end and each chapter made me want to keep reading on. The plot was interesting and it was a story that I haven’t come across before which I think made it even more intriguing because I couldn’t compare it to any other books. Highly recommend.

I actually don't really know how to review this one. One thing I hate in books or TV is an unbelievable story line. Unless I know that is what I am going to read/watch. This story centres on a doctor who's wife and daughter has a genetic illness. Dr Burman is a doctor and he is determined to do his own trial of being frozen until there is a cure. This in itself is unbelievable. Then it was all about him killing pets and stealing elderly patients to achieve the knowledge he needs. Interestingly I listened to this as an audiobook and it made it more realistic in an odd way. I wonder if that is why I still enjoyed it despite it being a story I don't normally like. There is a little twist at the end.

This was a good, interesting and gripping read, although it was somewhat tedious in its delivery. The story was enjoyable, the characters were somewhat likable but the story had some plot homes that were too big to forgive.

Thanks to NetGalley for a chance to read this novel by Lisa Stone. I got to the end and I did find it enjoyable but a bit long winded. I would recommend this novel but not too highly up my list of all time greats.

Ok this was a really great unputdownable psychological thriller. The plot was good and I found it to be quite a chilling book. Very interesting. Highly recommend.

Well written and a fascinating subject I could not put this book down, it was immensely creepy and disturbing! The storyline was so intriguing and it was a fast paced and easy read. Cryonic preservation is real, and is a big part of the subject matter in this story which makes it additionally fascinating.

I did not hate it nor did I love it. It is a strange book with a unique story. I struggled to connect with the characters, none of them had much going for them and the story was far fetched and hard to believe. Certain actions seemed far too easy and in reality could not happen that way. In saying that though it was a quick read and different .

Emily and Ben live next door to Dr Burman and his wife Alisha. Emily is on maternity leave and tries to make friends with Alisha but she is very guarded and doesn't leave the house a lot. She seems afraid of everything. Behind closed doors the Doctor is abusive and controlling, not allowing his wife to have any sort of a life. She has a chronic illness and he is experimenting in his shed with cryonics, freezing bodies to come back when medical advances have the cure. He is not a nice person at all, having no limits to how far he will go for his research.

One of the most original psychological thrillers of the year!! Very interesting and entertaining concept of medicine and the search for the cure of a disease and the eternal life (the physical life, not the spiritual one). It kept the pages turning. Truly recommended!

This was an interesting premise. I really liked Emily as a character. Wish we had more Ben in the beginning. The writing was okay. It felt a bit too long.

I really struggled to get into The Doctor. I persevered but gave up in the end. This book was not for me.
