I really feel like it's been equally no time at all since Silence Fallen and forever since Silence Fallen. It's not until I start reading each new Mercy Thompson book that I realize how much I've missed Mercy in my reading life.

This time around Mercy is dealing with some mysterious witches who have a penchant for leaving zombies in their wake (miniature zombie goats anyone?). After attacking the family of Elizaveta (the witch on retainer for the Pack) they seem to set their sights on thwarting upcoming talks between the Fae and the government. Since declaring the Tri-Cities under the protection of the Pack, Mercy and Adam have no choice but to meet this new opponent head on.

Like I said above, I love being back in Mercy's world. Especially after the events of Silence Fallen that happened outside of the Tri-Cities.

Over the course of the series, we've seen Mercy come up against other werewolves, Fae, vampires, indigenous magics, and unsavory humans, but she's never faced off against witches before. It was strange when I started reading Storm Cursed and this fact started to dawn on me. I mean witches have been in existence in the Mercy universe from the beginning. Elizaveta is called upon in the very first Mercy book Moon Called. They've always been on the outskirts I suppose, but I really loved getting more depth to the witch mythology.

One of the things Patricia Briggs does really well, and has done really well throughout this series and it's Alpha Omega spinoff, is the way that she seamlessly continues to give depth and character development. I mean even Mercy's powers have been developing over the course of the series. Sometimes slowly and sometimes in huge bursts, I love it. Patricia Briggs is also particularly good at doing so with the secondary characters. Sherwood Post whom Bran sent the live with the Pack - a wounded wolf who suffers from amnesia - proved to get such treatment in Storm Cursed. The pieces of his story are slowly coming together, but ever the master, Patricia Briggs isn't one to reveal all too quickly. Instead she'll parse it out bit by bit until the end result can have the most impact. There are a few other such incidences throughout that I'm eager to see where they'll lead to down the line in the series. I mean even the main conflict, of sorts, can be traced back to Book 7 in the series [book:Frost Burned|13413589], which at first felt a little clunky for me as far as plausibility, but the more I think on it, the more I see the connections and appreciate the long-game that Patricia Briggs plays with her storylines and readers alike.

I loved the closeness of Adam and Mercy in this one as well as seeing Mercy interact more with Zee and his son Tad. It was nice seeing Mercy at her garage again. I'll admit I enjoyed how Silence Fallen switched between Adam and Mercy perspectives. I understand it's usage as a plot device, but I love seeing things from Adam's perspective. Maybe it's something that'll be revisited down the line.

Patricia Briggs has never disappointed and fans of the Mercy Thompson series will find plenty to like and mull over in Storm Cursed. With so many ties to previous books, this isn't one I'd recommend if you were new to the series or behind on a few. This has been a very solid series so if you're new, starting from the beginning shouldn't be any kind of hardship and if you're behind, you'll appreciate catching up so all the connections and repercussions from previous books really hit home.

I'm done with the book already and can't wait until the next one! I think there's a re-read of this series in my future!

Storm Cursed is the eleventh book in the Mercy Thompson series and can only be read as part of the saga. Too much character and world building take place in earlier novels for this story to make sense to anyone who hasn’t read those tales. You have to really like a series to read that far into it, along with the adjacent narratives (Alpha & Omega) that make up the Mercyverse and their various short stories. I have read everything, which makes this a review by a fan for other fans. My grade reflects that.

This review will contain spoilers for the books that came before it, as well as a tiny bit of information about a new crossover taking place between the Mercy Thompson series and the Alpha & Omega books.

Ever since Mercy proclaimed the Tri-Cities under the protection of the pack, the werewolves have been called upon by the area’s denizens to handle all sorts of strange supernatural problems. Today’s difficulty is a bit out of the ordinary but still typical enough not to raise too many concerns: a goblin has moved into a local barn and of course the farmer wants it gone. Backed by two trusty lieutenants, fan favorites Mary Jo and Ben, and with a large assist from Goblin King Larry, Mercy is able to roust the annoying, murderous creature from its hidey-hole and advise the barn owner the area has been cleared. There’s more going on here but I’ll leave the reader to discover that for themselves.

Just as she’s finishing tidying up that case Mercy receives another call: the Benton County Sheriff’s office is having trouble dealing with a marauding pack of miniature zombie goats. Mary Jo and Mercy head out to deal with this problem and discover it’s hiding a way bigger difficulty. A nasty band of witches have decided to come to town, bringing their cruel and appalling practice of black magic with them. They expect the pack to just let them take over, which shows just how little they understand about Mercy and her mate Adam.

Fans of the series will remember that an important group of witches played a role in the last Alpha & Omega novel, Burn Bright. In this one, we learn a lot more about that coven and watch Mercy, Adam and the Columbia Basin Pack tangle with this new enemy. We also take a joyous – not! – walk through ongoing political struggles between the U.S. Government and the Gray Lords, and discover a new talent Mercy has been waiting for just the right moment to use.

This story will make fans happy. We get to see our heroes kick paranormal butt, we hang out with old friends like Stefan, Sherwood, Zee, Tad, and Uncle Mike and old frenemies like Wulfe. We’ve got a nasty new enemy to hate and we find out about a new (to this series) mythical creature. Briggs’ world building is phenomenal and the universe she has created totally riveting. As always, I enjoyed the time I spent there.

The full conundrum the wolves and their allies have to deal with is intriguing and engrossing. I was completely engaged by what was happening and absorbed by trying to figure out just how a resolution would be reached. Naturally, I was equally invested in figuring out how various ongoing threads in the Mercyverse were progressing. It was all thoroughly engaging and I ripped through the book in a day.

Which means that the only reason this novel hasn’t received a higher grade is a problem that has cropped up in the last few books. They aren’t DIK novels. Don’t get me wrong, they are good stories and frankly, they are wonderful series books. Ms. Briggs has spent thirteen years creating an exceptional paranormal realm and peopling it with awesome characters and fascinating creatures. However, if Storm Cursed had been the first book in the series rather than the eleventh, I would have been far less impressed than I was by my initial encounter with the Mercyverse. These newer narratives just aren’t quite as compelling as the earlier works. That they are as terrific as they are is a testament to the author’s amazing talent but I just don’t feel the last few have been DIK quality. And again, this far into a series, I am not expecting that and am deeply thankful that they are as great and as much fun as they have been.

Additionally, Mercy is becoming too much of a Mary Sue. There is no challenge she and her friends can’t rise to, no enemy too great for them to defeat. The discovery of a new talent of Mercy’s is just one of the recent deus ex machina devices the author has resorted to in order to remind us how awesome our heroine is. I don’t need a character to be Wonder Woman for me to love her and I wish we were seeing more growth in other aspects of Mercy’s personality rather than just her awesome fighting capabilities and magical talents.

Storm Cursed is a must read for its intended audience, and will be a page-turning pleasure for fans. As stated before, it is definitely not the place to begin if you aren’t familiar with the series – that would be book one, the outstanding Moon Called – but I promise by the time you work your way through the excellent beginning novels and get to this one, you will be quite delighted with Storm Cursed.

I’ve been a huge fan of Patricia Briggs and her Mercy Thompson books ever since I stumbled across them at the bookstore nearly 10 years ago now so i was pretty excited to receive a copy of this book to review for the blog. Since I’m always a little bit worried that I will let my love for a an author or series blind me to any flaws in a book that I’ve been looking forward to like this I decided to read the book and let myself geek out about it for a couple weeks before trying to read it again so I can be a bit more subjective. So I think I can say with a pretty decent amount of honesty that I think I found Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs to be everything I expected it to be and so much more. I’ve managed to read the book a few times now and every time that I have started I’ve found myself unable to stop reading until I finished it.

Patricia Briggs is a great author and I think she’s created a fantastic world that is surprisingly realistic and believable for an urban fantasy series. If werewolves and the Fae one day came out in the real world the way they did in this series I can see everyone reacting in pretty much the exact way they do in these books. I love pretty much any urban fantasy series that is written well but I really think this one stands out with how great the worldbuilding is and how believable the world is.

Normally I would comment on what I liked and didn’t like about the plot of a book here, but so many important things happen in Storm Cursed that I don’t want to chance spoiling anything. All I will say is that Patricia Briggs has managed to completely surprise me once again with all the twists and turns that take place over the course of this book. Things in the Mercyverse have always been interesting but events are starting to spin out of control all over the place and I can’t wait to see how Mercy and Adam handle all the changes that are coming their way.

The only thing that really bummed me out about this book was that some of my favorite characters were either not in it, or only briefly mentioned. But I honestly expect that to happen at this point of the series — Patricia Briggs has created so many great characters that it would be impossible to stick them all into every book without really bogging the story down completely. I’ll just have to suck it up and wait for the next book in the series to see them.

Like always I would recommend this series to anyone who hasn’t read it yet, though I would recommend that you start at the beginning of the series since so much of the story requires knowledge of the characters and world to understand what is going on.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! I have to admit that I am a huge fan of all the books set in Mercy Thompson's world. Every time I get my hands on a new Mercy Thompson book, I feel like I have been given the most wonderful gift. These stories really are gifts and I cherish each one. As you may have guessed, I went into this book with really high expectations. This book was even better than I could have hoped. This book allowed me to escape my life for just a little while and I had a fantastic time with it.

Mercy seems to somehow attract trouble. Actually, her declaration a couple of books back that the wolves would protect their territory is causing most of the trouble. Early in this book, Mercy is called on to deal with some zombie goats and I wondered what the heck was going on. Seriously, zombie goats? I thought I had seen it all but I was obviously wrong. It was so much fun to watch Mercy try to figure out what was really going on.

I loved the direction this installment took. Witches are incredibly interesting to me anyway but witches in Mercy's world were even better. We learned a lot of things about several of the characters that have played pivotal roles in the series for a long time. All of the things that were revealed were eye-opening and some left me questioning everything that I thought I knew about the characters.

I love the role that Mercy and Adam's relationship plays in this series. It is really nice to see an established couple that is in it for the long haul. I think that Mercy and Adam's relationship only gets stronger with each book. I love the way that they trust each other completely and always have each other's backs. There were plenty of great moments between the pair in this story which I found touching.

I would highly recommend this book to others. This is the eleventh book in the Mercy Thompson series which is a series that really should be read in order since there are a lot of things carried over from previous installments. This was a highly entertaining story filled with mystery, action, excitement, great characters, and even a few zombie goats. I enjoyed this one so much I pre-ordered the audiobook so I can experience the story all over again in the future.

I received a digital review copy of this book from Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley.

5 Hearts, Recommended Read
SJ, Romance Junkies

Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series just keeps getting better, and STORM CURSED, the eleventh installment, is a 5 Heart, Recommended Read that I can't recommend enough! It does help to be invested in this series, however, and I'd encourage new readers to start with the first in the series, MOON CALLED.

In this riveting, fast-paced and rollicking well-crafted tale, Mercy is busy dealing with goblins and...well, suffice it to say the words zombie and miniature-goat come into play. The pack is present with some standouts (characters not focused on in previous books) stealing the show. Fans will learn more about the mysterious Sherwood. The goblins prove fascinating creatures, and an evil causing death on a massive scale is running rampant in the Tri-Cities, giving Mercy and her pals no end of grief.

I hesitate to say more, not wanting to spoil the book. But I will say that Patricia Briggs is a master at storytelling, weaving enriching plots and multi-layered characters together with astonishing skill. I've read this book cover to cover twice now, and I plan to go back and read it a third time to continue to pick up on details I've previously missed.

Every time I think I want to know more about one member of the pack, another does something that intrigues me and makes me even more interested! This is one series not to be missed. For urban fantasy and paranormal fiction fans, you can't do better. Pick up your copy of STORM CURSED today!

I can never get enough of Mercy Thompson stories! I flat out loved it.

Mercy Thompson is back home and now dealing with the repercussions for claiming the safety of the Tri-Cities by stating it was under the protection of the Columbia Basin Wolf Pack, Adam’s Pack. Now here claims are about to be challenged and with Bran’s excommunication it leaves them on their own.

Mercy and a few pack members are called in to take care of a Gremlin causing trouble. They call in for Larry the Goblin King to assist. Followed by the local sheriff calling Mercy and the pack in to investigate “zombie goats”… Well, I believe they were miniature zombie goats. Still dead, still reanimated but still mini. Of course her proclamation is causing all kinds of extra work. But if that wasn’t already enough, one of the pack’s lawyers made a serious error, leaving the open to the governments request for them to play body guard to the summit between the government and the Grey Lords.

Its been awhile since so many of my favorites characters in the series come into play but Storm Cursed seems to have them all. Zee, Stefan, Marsilia, Elizabeta… oh Elizabeta and her Adam fixation… and well you get the picture.

Storm Cursed is the eleventh book in and this series is still going strong. Patricia Briggs brings her A game, as always, captivating her reading audience with original, pulse pounding adventures with characters we’ve come to love.

I received this ARC copy of STORM CURSED from Berkley Publishing Group - Ace. This is my honest and voluntary review. STORM CURSED is set for publication May 07, 2019.

I have been a fan of this series since book 1 and some have been better than others but this was another homerun in the series. Things from more than 1 book are pulled in and resolved or hints of things we still don't know about are added to some characters, this series is a moving puzzle where each book resolves something and fits a few more pieces into a huge puzzle that runs through this series.

Death witches, politics, vampires, fae and a few other "things" are all involved in this one and you will love it and I can see future threads for future novels, glad to see Patricia Briggs back into exceptional form.

So without trying to write a novel or spoil any of the MANY surprises in this story I will just say if you have enjoyed ANY book in this series, you will love this one and as usual it is a great ending and a few threads thrown around to work into another story next year. 5 Stars and as always exceptional literary entertainment.

Three words: zombie miniature goats.

Or is it miniature goat zombies? It can’t be zombie goats—that sounds satanic. 😉

The goats are among the lighter moments in this book, which features black witchcraft powered by torture and death, as well as lots and lots of zombies. The Hardesty family of witches (from Burn Bright) turns their attention on the Tri-Cities, and having claimed the area as under their werewolf pack’s protection, Mercy and her family and friends have to deal with the fallout.

What else can I say about the story without giving too much away? The political situation between the US government and the fae plays a role in the plot, with the pack stuck firmly in the middle. Mercy’s fae friends assist as they can, including Larry the goblin king, Uncle Mike, and particularly Tad and Zee, who get to show off their many skills quite spectacularly. Readers learn more about the mysterious werewolf Sherwood Post, who turns out to be very special. Vampire Wulfe is back, and he’s “even more special,” or so he says. (I have to admit to being somewhat fascinated with Wulfe, and the way the story plays out has me even more intrigued. I hope he shows up again soon.)

For fans who were disappointed in the last book, this one is a return to form, with lots of action as well as banter and snark between the characters to lighten things up. You kind of have to love an author who sends Mercy and her band off to their final battle with the bad guys in a replica Mystery Machine, right? (Scooby and Wulfe share a seat! That was good for a giggle in itself.)

Have I piqued your interest? If so, my work is done. Go read it!

I was so happy to be back in Mercy’s world. I am always recommending this series as I just love it. In this latest installment, Mercy is trying to keep her territory safe, even if it’s from zombie goats. However, something bigger is waiting to take over, and Mercy is racing to find Death before it’s too late for her and her friends. I loved the action in this book, and I just loved all the characters that were front and center. One thing really stuck out for me and that was we got to see more about Sherwood’s past. I am hoping we’ll see more in the next books. I did miss the ones we didn’t get to see, but that’s OK; it would get confusing if everyone was in on the action! I do have to say, though, there was just a tiny spark missing in this book, and I can’t put my finger on it. Not that this wasn’t a great book; it definitely was. I enjoyed every minute of reading. There was just…something. Anyway, I am glad to see Mercy again, as I’ve already said, and I’ll be glad when the next book comes out. I do recommend this book and was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

When Mercy Thompson declared that the Columbia Basin Pack would take care of the citizens within its borders, she changed the balance of the supernatural community. Now, politicians and Grey Lords are coming to their safe zone to make deals. And other less desirable folk have come to town with no intention of honoring the peace.

Storm Cursed is book #11 in the long running Mercy Thompson series. As a reader, I’m always glad to visit the world and reconnect with the characters. However, once a series reaches this length, there are usually some stories that are good and some stories that are great. Storm Cursed is one of the great ones, causing me to read from cover to cover in one sitting and finish at 2:00 am.

What I really enjoyed about this installment was the way elements from Burn Bright were woven into the novel. It makes sense since it is the same world, but the interaction of the goblins, Grey Lords and witches made for an engrossing read. I enjoyed the revelations, was saddened by the trauma and was genuinely tense during the climax of the story. Zee and Tad as a fighting team was amazing. And the miniature zombie goats were fantastic!

A must read for fans of the series. Very enjoyable and highly recommended. 5 stars.

A solid entry in the Mercy Thompson series (which, increasingly, you need to read in concert with the Alpha & Omega series by the same author, in order to understand the full details). The action was nonstop, as fans have come to expect, but character development doesn't suffer as a result. This book ratchets everything up to another level, and there are several interesting developments for the series going forward. I very much enjoyed being along for the ride!

Storm Cursed was everything I wanted it to be and so much more. As a series grows, I always become hesitate with later books, worried that they won't live up to the hype but Storm Cursed more than delivered.
We had plenty of action, a small dash of continued romance between Mercy and Adam, the expected deaths and mayhem, and plenty of twists and turns to keep us guessing.
If you're a fan of the Mercy Thompson series, you'll find Storm Cursed highly satisfying!

Mercy Thompson’s declaration on the bridge that day has changed the balance of things. Now, the pack is embroiled in the politics between the US government and the Gray Lords, and Mercy’s husband and Pack Alpha, Adam Hauptman, has his hands full trying to maintain the peace. Unfortunately, things are about to heat up as another foe has arrived in town…

I think I fell in love just a little with the whole idea of miniature zombie goats! As Mary Jo points out in STORM CURSED, they just sound cute even with the word zombie in it. STORM CURSED has all the elements we love in a <i>Mercy Thompson</i> book. We’ve got humor (hence the miniature zombie goats), lots of butt-kicking action, political intrigues with the various species of supernaturals, and the camaraderie we expect from the much beloved characters. We’re learning about a lot of new powers and the witches play a very large role in STORM CURSED.

STORM CURSED is the eleventh book in the phenomenal <i>Mercy Thompson</i> series. I would strongly encourage new readers to start with the first book, MOON CALLED, and read through the entire series in chronological order as Patricia Briggs has been carefully crafting both her world and her characters over the course of the series. Besides, the <i>Mercy Thompson</i> series is one of the best urban fantasy series out there so why wouldn’t you want to enjoy each and every moment?

Patricia Briggs throws some interesting curveballs at us in STORM CURSED. Patricia Briggs is not letting her world stagnate but is instead expanding and broadening the horizons with each new entry into the series and oh wow, does STORM CURSED ever deliver! No spoilers here but I have questions on how things are going to proceed after the events of this book and it’s going to be so hard to wait on the next book to see where Patricia Briggs takes us next! If you love urban fantasy, then Patricia Briggs and the <i>Mercy Thompson</i> series are a must read for you!

In a long-running series, there’s usually at least one thing that stands out about each book. For example, in the Mercy Thompson series, Fire Touched is “the one where they fight the troll.” I’m pretty sure that Storm Cursed will be known as “the one with the miniature zombie goats.” There are actually other types of zombies as well, as Mercy and the pack find themselves facing a necromancer, but the goats are the ones we’ll all remember.

Meanwhile, Adam’s firm has been hired to provide security for a summit between government officials and the Fae. And, oh yeah, they want Mercy to plan the meeting. It’s fun to see Mercy being smarter than the politicians here! She and Adam are separated by their jobs through much of the story, but when they are together they are so cute!

I’m always a fan of Briggs’ supporting characters, but they really shine in this one. Zee and Tad are back in the shop and backing up Mercy in the field. Sherwood Post just keeps getting more interesting as Mercy starts to figure out some of his history. And I can’t wait to see more of the Goblin King.

Mercy has spent a lot of time with the Vampires and the Fae throughout the series, but Storm Cursed focuses on her world’s witches. We met Elizaveta, the witch on retainer for the pack, early in the series but this is the first time Briggs has really gone into the politics and history of the covens. It’s absolutely fascinating!

The stage is set for more witchy drama in the future, though it may not be any time soon. Briggs is a master of the long game, which she showed once again by tying in events from Frost Burned, book 7, in Storm Cursed. I actually think several elements will come up again in future books, like how Mercy’s powers affect zombies or the big change that happens for one of the vampires.

With so many interconnected elements this wouldn’t be a good place to start for a series newbie, but Mercy Thompson fans will definitely enjoy Storm Cursed.

"One by one
Two by two,
The Hardesty witches
are traveling through."

I don't know how Briggs nails it every time but she does. Mercy Thompson is a series I've been reading almost since it started, and though time goes by and my reading tastes change, this series holds its own and remains a constant source of joy for me.

In the previous book Mercy made the tri-cities area a safe haven for citizens in her territory. Now with that proclamation, she needs to uphold it. When a new coven of witches comes in and threatens everything, she must fight them to keep those close to her safe.

First things first, miniature zombie goats. Who knew that would be a thing and that it would be cute and hilarious? A very riveting book for me, most of it I couldn't put the kindle down. My only thing is I wish I had a character guide, because as I approach my 30s, I cannot remember a damn thing and didn't know who some of these people were because it's been so long since I last read a Briggs book.

Honestly one of my favorite books of 2019. If you haven't read this series, seriously get your act together and make it work. I can honestly say this series only gets better and better.

"I've learned that there are always terrible things, and sometimes it is very important to grasp what joy and beauty you can, whenever you can."

Thank you Netgalley for my free review copy of Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs, in exchange for my honest review.

Book 11 of the Mercy Thompson series was so good! I love the Mercy Thompson and I was so glad that we got a lot of Mercy and Adam moments in this book. When you didn’t know what else to explore we get to delve into witches!!! Such an amazing installment in the series.

Storm Cursed releases May 7th! I definitely recommend you check it out or if you haven’t read this series I hope you give it a chance it’s worth the read.

I love the Mercy Thompson series, so I was really looking forward to getting my hands on this new novel. I didn’t remember very well the last events of the previous volume, but it was with great pleasure to find all the characters.

If I had a little trouble at the beginning of the novel getting into the story that I found a little confusing, I finally managed to get into it and I was really curious to find out what was going on.

Mercy is facing the consequences of the previous events and must protect the city. When witches arrive in town with powers beyond comprehension, our heroine has a hard time managing all this. In addition to that, she finds herself having to negotiate a meeting between the faes. So yes, our heroine will have many things to manage and she will have to make decisive choices!

Despite a difficult start I really had a very good time with this novel once again and I am still very curious to see what the author has in store for us in the future.

What are the consequences to Mercedes' pronouncement on the bridge? How is the Alpha pack of the Columbia Basin navigating the responsibility of keeping their territory safe? Goblins, the government, and Zombies galore make this book a fun page-turner. I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend the latest installment in the Mercedes Thompson Hauptman series.

As with every book in the <em><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/series/40932-mercy-thompson" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Mercy Thompson series</strong></a>, </em>I love the excellent character development, and the complexity and layers of plot. There is also a touch of humor. Mercy is an amazing character with spirit, compassion and intelligence. (We are doing a Read-along of this series next year, so please join us starting in January.)

So to give you the gist without spoiling, we learn more about witches and goblins. There is an upcoming meeting between the fae and the humans.  Adam's company is providing security and Mercy is the liason between the two groups.  Coyote has some different ideas of what Mercy should do.  Some bad guys want to take all the power.  Oh and Wulfe, Wulfe!, ends up on the good guy side.

<blockquote>"What are you thinking?" I asked. "What idiot would put me in charge of a government meeting? I can't organize a pack barbecue without Kyle. Why isn't someone else doing it? Marsilia? Or one of the fae? Or one of the government people? I bet they do this all the time."</blockquote>

As is often the case, Mercy is on her own while Adam is busy with his work.  Their relationship is so solid and when they do interact it is satisfying (I'm not just talking about sex.)  Mercy is busy fighting fires of one sort or another with some pack members, Zee and Tad, with a bit of vampire on the side.

<blockquote>My cell went off again. But the caller ID was blocked and my policy was that I didn't pickup on blocked-ID calls just after I got off the hook for a nonpaying government job I didn't want.</blockquote>
<strong>Storm Cursed</strong> is incredible! There is nothing to dislike from the additional world-building, to character growth and development, to layers of connected plot lines,  and on to exciting action! It's no surprise this is one of my favorite series.  I'll be thrilled for more next year with <strong>Smoke Bitten</strong>!

I enjoyed reading the newest entry in the Mercy Thompson series. I especially liked the development of Sherwood’s character. However, this novel didn’t seem as well developed as the books that came before. The plot was interesting, but it seemed less detailed and complex than her previous books. That being said, it was a good book, and I would recommend reading this entry in the series.
