This is my first Tessa Bailey! There is a lot to enjoy about this book. Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey is a baseball-themed romance with lots of open door sex & lots of steam. Love that the audio makes it even sexier. I will say I thoroughly enjoy the moniker of Two Bats for the male lead. Georgie is fun & definitely immature & finding her way.

Even better, I think this may be my first foray into the friend's little sister trope. I dare say I really enjoy this trope.

One thing that about damn ruined the story for me is all the "baby girl" mentions. There is only one man that I accept that language from & his name is Derek Morgan.

Honestly, all the baby girl talk drove me nuts. I just wanted to take a shower. The thing is, Georgie liked it. I just didn't buy that. Truthfully, I can't get over this aspect of the book. I won't go on & on. Just know it was a problem for me.

THE VERDICT

I'm Into It. An easy read & overall, there's a lot to like here. This is a cute story with both characters finding their way.

Here is my initial reaction: why have I been teased and promised house flipping porn and instead got just actual porn with a side helping of super dominating male (like seriously domineering, y'all, verging a little on BDSM but just verbal and a little light spanking/threat of spanking).

I saw this book available for request and was like, ooh, a romance with house flipping work? My friends who are BORINGLY into talking about remodels will love this and I can recommend it and enjoy any interior design included and mostly the romance and we will have something besides their house projects to discuss. So wrong. So, so wrong. I am not sure I can in good conscience recommend this to them because I am not actually sure they would enjoy a male lead this sexually empowered.

On the other hand, I totally enjoyed it. Haha, it was super hot and the writing was great flirty fun. The romance was excellent and even if the male lead was maybe slightly dumb sometimes about the dreaded "relationship", he totally makes up for it in other ways. I also loved all the side characters and was delighted to see this will be a series with Rosie and Dom up next. And I cannot wait for Bethany's. I heart her lack of civility filter.

I didn't like this book. Didn't connect with the virgin heroine or the pro baseball player. I felt like the trope could've been done better.

I was waiting for a story to show up in "Fix Her Up" and it never really did. I was prepared for homes in need of renovation with maybe a little romance thrown in. There was little, if any, discussion of house flipping or romantically climbing on ladders in this book. I would have enjoyed a bit more substance and a lot less steam.

I thought this was really cute! I like Tessa Bailey a lot, so I'm not surprised that a rom-com book from her was a winner for me. This was a super cute story that I would have liked to see more of--if there had been more conflict or more world-building that would have been fine by me.

This book has been on my TBR pile (which is more like a mountain) for a while, and I'm ticked I didn't read it sooner! It is the perfect combination of funny, sweet, and saucy.

I read a lot of romances, so it's hard to give me something I haven't read before - this book delivered on several fronts: one, the characters were pretty unique. Georgie has a job I've never encountered in a romance before, and it was nice to see women empowering each other and lifting each other up.

Two, the way it was written was very different from most romances: the characters had explicit sex scenes, but the author didn't focus just on the scene. Bailey focused more on character development and Georgie and Travis' relationship than the sex, which is unusual for a romance. Focusing less on lust and more on how Georgie and Travis make each other feel like better, stronger people makes this a true romance and not just erotica.

I would highly recommend this book for romance lovers, and I'm going to suggest this for the romance book club at my library.

A sweet romance with a naughty side. I loved the characters in this book. Georgie was so off the wall in terms of careers. I can honestly say I've never seen a party clown lead in a romance novel. The push and pull of Travis and Georgie's relationship was beautiful to watch and oh so fulfilling.
I absolutely loved the dynamic between all the female characters and the empowerment you feel among the women. This is so much more than a love story. It's about these women finding themselves and the partners who make them better along the way.
The steamy scenes are insanely steamy and honestly it didn't quite fit the tone of the rest of the book. It felt like a regular romantic comedy but then the hot moments felt like they were out of a triple X magazine. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the hot stuff but it needed to be more comparable to the not hot stuff. All in all this is a wonderful romance and I highly recommend it.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this story. I freaking loved it. First, let me say that I kind of love the newish trend in romance novels of an illustrated cover. It is so charming and fun to look at. Second, I love a good brother's best friend romance.

Georgie is our female protagonist and she's pretty much been in love with Travis, her brother's BFF forever and then some. Travis moves back home after retiring from baseball due to an injury. To help Travis improve his image and hopefully get a fancy announcer's gig, Georgie and Travis agree to fake date. Of course fake dating leads to an actual relationship (relax, it's a romance, this shouldn't be a surprise). What I loved about these two was how they helped each other be better. Georgie is the baby of her family and no one ever stands up for her until Travis. He helps her get some confidence and learn how to stand up to her family. Georgie helps Travis realize that relationships aren't all bad and it's okay to let people in.

I really liked the two of them together. I also loved how Georgie inspired a lot of people in the town, including her own sister, to be better versions of themselves. I am 100% ready for the next book in the series. I spoke briefly with Tessa Bailey at a signing this weekend and she said it's her first married couple (book 2) and she is excited about it. Me too Tessa Bailey, me too.

This was cute and enjoyable to read, but not one that will stick with me forever. Perfect for getting out of a reading slump if you need something sweet and quick!

This is a super cute book of how the best friends sister doesn’t get taken seriously but just needs a little guidance and help to get the man to stop seeing her as the little sister but see her as the beautiful woman she has become. Really likable characters and a lot of relatable situations. I enjoyed the opening chapter when she goes to his apartment and crazy breaks out, so fun! I love that she doesn’t give up on him, even after everything she still wants him and I loved that.

This book was really enjoyable. Tessa did a great job of weaving this story together. Looking forward to reading more from the author.

Read this book in a few hours, I just couldn't put it down and it was so good!!
Sweet, virginal Georgie has been in love with Travis Ford, the baseball king, since she was a young girl.
Georgette Castle, the youngest of the Castle family and Stephen, Travis' best friend's baby sister. He always thought of her as a silly little kid that watched him in the bleachers and cheered him on.
Travis makes it to the majors but ends up with an injury that ends his major league dreams, lands him back home and in a drunken funk.
Georgie's here to save the day, to make Travis realize that he's more than just baseball, a player and a punch line.
She tries not to fall in love with him in the process but some things are just too hard to resist and he just might feel the same way to this time around.
Would definitely recommend for a good rom-com.

I really enjoyed this one!! As a youngest sibling I could definitely relate to the main character. I didn't love how much he said babygirl but oh well!

I loved this book. Georgie was so sweet and fun....she knew when to stand up and when to be supportive.
Travis showed so much growth and the mantle....sigh....so romantic. I really loved their story amd hope we catch a glimpse of them in Rosie and Dominic.

This was not for me. I don't care for a lot of sexual content and this had too much for me, I also didn't care for the main romance.

This was a cute romance. Fans of Christina Lauren, Helen Hoang and Sally Thorne. I liked that Georgie and Travis helped each other become better people.

I’ve never read a Tessa Bailey book I did not love, and this book knocked my socks off, as usual. It’s a fake relationship scenario where the heroine has been crushing on the hero all her life, but he’s never seen her as anything other than his best friend’s kid sister. They pretend to be in love for the whole world to see, until there’s nothing fake about their feelings or how much they wants each other. SO SO sexy and even angsty at times, this was a book I read in a single day during my vacation, and I loved every delicious second of it.

I have been in a huge chick-lit, rom-com novels kick lately.
Fix Her Up was cute and refreshing. The ending left me wanting more and I’m excited that there will be a sequel with a character that was a side character in the book.
The only thing I didn’t enjoy with this book was some of the dialogue that was Travis’.
Overall it was good.

Romantic Comedy written by a wonderful author who knows how to make you laugh out loud and groan at the same time. Tessa Bailey really put a smile on my face with Fix Her Up. She wrote wonderful characters and a plot line that will have you laughing and hoping that Two Bats hits a grand slam.
Georgie was wonderful. She was funny, caring, loving and never taken seriously.
Travis was known as a playboy but had a kind, loving side as well.
Together they will take Port Jefferson by storm. What will they get out of it? Well, maybe Georgie's family will start taking her seriously. Maybe Travis could have a life without every woman in town pursuing him? Maybe Travis will look at Georgie as more than Stephen's little sister? Maybe Travis will find out that he's not him and never will be. Whatever the outcome, there is something there, something that could be exciting, real and forever. Georgie knows this … now it's up to Travis to grab the brass ring, get off the carousel and hit one out of the park.
This story was wonderful. Tessa Baily knows how to write Rom-Com and it really shows in Fix Her Up. She wrote a plot-line that had a little bit of everything. Her characters went from serious to funny, from unbearable to swoon-worthy. She wrote a flirty, funny story with serious undertones that will have you turning page after page wondering what Georgie will do next and if Travis will see what's been right in front of him forever.

This was a really cute premise, but I just couldn't really get into the book like I had hoped that I would.
