First, thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read an e-galley of this book.

Maddie lives in a restored fire house. She is a single woman with a successful photography business. She has 3 grown children and several grandchildren. While her kids were small, their father died in an accident, and Maddie remained on her own. While the kids were growing up, there were a few men in her life.

One night, Maddie has an accident and falls from a ladder and breaks her ankle. After she goes to hospital and gets home and is resting, her assistant comes to work and finds her, resting uncomfortably. Maddie's daughter calls, and the two of them have a disagreement.

As a result of their conversation, and a box of letters and pictures that Maddie sorted through while recuperating, she decides to take a road trip and "drop in" on her 3 past loves to see how they have fared in life.

Maddie sees that her decisions in the past were the right ones, and this excursion has freed her from her past, and set her free for her future.

Maddie, mother of three grown children is a photographer who heads out on a cross country trip. A fall off a ladder, a broken ankle and a daughter who tries to take over her mother's life has convinced Maddie it's time to reconnect and reevaluate life. I love the way Maddie takes her life back and comes back home stronger and better than before. Although it took me a while to get into this book once I did it the story pulled me in and left me cheering Maddie on. Great writing, believable characters and a finding yourself journey make this a must read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Synopsis:

Maddie is a famous photographer who is very happy with her life the way it is. She has three successful grown children who are just as busy with their life as she is with hers. So she has gotten use to the lack of contact. One night at home while cleaning out a closet she falls off a ladder and breaks her leg. He eldest daughter is sure its a sign of old age and feels her mother should prepare herself for the changes that are sure to come. Maddie is hurt by all this and scared, what if her daughter is right. She sets off on a pilgrimage to see how some of her most cherished men are doing. To see if she was right in letting each go or if there is a flame still burring. She drives from New Your all the way to the west cost. She begins to find herself along the trip and maybe something unexpected at the same time.

My thoughts:

This book dragged out in the beginning, I actually didn't get fully invested till about the middle of the story. Even then I skimmed some parts because the repetitiveness of some of the points made thoughout the book.

However once the story got on I will say it moved me. I loved the blooming relationship with her children and her new relationship. I would say that if you love Danielle Steel you will love this book. Sure there may be a few spots that I feel could have been shorted or left out but it is a good read.

Third book I read of this writer and first in which the protagonists are in their fifties. Another challenge fulfilled to get out of my comfort zone in just reading romance and young adults . I loved every second, every page, every moment of reflection.

Maddie is a workaholic mother of three grown children who has always cherished her own independence and her children’s too. Living alone in a former firestation, she finds fascinating and rewarding the choices she made in life. When she falls down a ladder in the middle of the night and twists her ankle, she finds herself facing loneliness and when she hears from her daughter that she needs care because she is aging and the house where she lives presents many dangers, she decides to run away for a while and look for old boyfriends to know if she really made the right choices in life.

As she crosses the United States and re-encounters people who have been important in her life, she rediscovers herself and at the same time reconnects with her children in ways she did not imagine was still possible.

Maddie's journey made me think at several times on my own journey and on my mother's journey. At various times, I saw myself in the characters and began to question my behavior. Often, we say that we need to enjoy every second with people we love, but we let our lives goon and on and we really do not enjoy the presence of people that much. Lost and Found brings a touching and thrilling story about being lost and finding yourself beyond letting yourself be found.

The bonds that are gradually being retaken in Maddie's family show how essential in life love is either familiar or sexual. I found it very beautiful how smooth the writer presents Maddie with a new chance to love and to love herself and to realize that when one really is willing to love everything is possible in this life.

It is never late to restart .

What's the best kind of book to read when you're down with the flu and feeling lousy? Why an easy going Danielle Steel novel of course. A book where all the characters are gorgeous and talented and successful and lead fascinating lives. A book where you feel comfortable knowing what is probably going to happen (and hoping it does) and thinking back to times in your own life where you were in similar circumstances. OK - not as glamorous, but similar!

The story moved along well, the characters were interesting , and it's a pleasure to read a book once in awhile that doesn't rely on constant F-bombs. A fun read - perfect for the beach. Or for being down with the flu.

Maddie has an accident in her home. Her daughter frightens her with problems of the elderly. Maddie decides to reevaluate her past by visiting three boyfriends of the past. Maddie wants to make sure she made the right choice years ago.
Danielle Steel delivers again with a romance. This book makes people of a certain age look at issues that only people say over 50 face.

Danielle Steel at her best. Maddie takes a road trip to try and get answers about her past and in the process finds her real self. Good Read !!

Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed in this one. I read Danielle Steel for her predictability and her "formula" for writing good chick lit. But honestly, this was a bit too predictable, and the storyline fell together to easy for me to truly lose myself in it. I loved the characters, particularly Maddie. She felt like a woman and mother who worked hard all her life, put others above herself for so many years, did what she should rather than what she wanted. So I appreciated and applauded her need to do something for herself for once. And I enjoyed the premise of her journey back in order to move forward. But it all just evolved and wrapped up too neatly and too quickly. Boyfriend #1 is a jerk - check. Boyfriend #2 is still a playboy - check. Boyfriend #3 doesn't work out either - check, check, check. Two weeks later, she's let go of the past, moved on to the future, and oh, yeah, she suddenly, after all these years, has fixed her relationships with all three of her kids, including her incredibly demeaning and bullying (and annoying) eldest daughter. So, yeah, not my favorite story of hers, despite how much I enjoyed the characters. Still a decent read, but less than a lot of her other books.

Maddie is a middle aged woman who has not always had the easy life. After a fall that causes her to break her ankle she is decides to take a cross country trip.
I found the beginning of this book started off a little slow as you got to know about the characters and their relationships, but once Maddie begins her journey of self-discovery and I found I was captivated by the story.
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to provide my honest opinion.

I love anything Danielle Steel writes and always look forward to new books from her! I enjoyed this one and enjoyed that is was a slower paced read from her. I hope that you would give this one a chance as well!

Maddie is a divorced mom of three grown kids. Things have not always been a piece of cake for Maddie raising three kids on her own, but she was determined to make things work and raise her kids on her own. Each child has their own personality and is into their own thing in life now so Maddie does not see them as much anymore. Maddie is now a renown photographer and still works very hard despite her age.

When Maddie decides that she is going to do some cleaning out/up one weekend, she has no idea the road that it will take her own. Maddie ends up falling from the ladder and breaking her ankle, but she is too stubborn to call any of her kids or her assistant to help her out. They all get aggravated with her when they find out what she has done. Maddie was getting a box down that had letters from her old boyfriends in it so that she could go through them. When Maddie gets back to the box after her ankle is in a cast for some time, she decides that it is time that she finds out what has happened to these old boyfriends and where they are in life now that it has been some time since she dated them.

Maddie takes off on a drive across country and loves every minute of it. One of Maddie's daughters is furious about it and calls her brother to tattle tale on her mom when he tells her that she should not worry about it and let their mom do what she needs to do. He knows from the pictures that Maddie is posting that she is happy and doing what she wants!

Will Maddie end up reconnecting with her old flings and getting back together with them? You will have to read this one for yourself to find out. I thought that this was an easy read and flowed really well. Sort of a different story line from Danielle Steel but I enjoyed it!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own!

Two live in different parts of California . Her oldest daughter lives in New York where Maddie lives But with there busy lives they very seldom see each other. So when Maddie falls off a ladder while cleaning a close Deanna acts like it's the end of the world. She wants her mom to sell her beloved house and move into a home for the elderly. Even though Maddie is only fifty-eight. But Maddie has other plans. She tells no one that she's up to ,but she does tell her Assistant that she Will be gone for while she rents a car heads off . I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Many feel Steel's books are "all the same", I disagree. Many have a similar context but the plot is totally different. I have read every one of Danielle Steel's books. They are an usually an enjoyable romance with some type of twist. Very easy reading from a fabulous author whom I hope writes many more. Enjoy! 📚

Maddie is not old- she's in her 50s- but oddly her daughter seems to think she's like 100. When she breaks her ankle, she finds herself thinking about what might have been and decides to visit three important men in her life. As someone who has had a broken ankle, gotta say that it's not the wisest thing to go on a road trip so soon. Bob, Jacques and Andy are all very different. I do wish this was a bit more well rounded as it skimmed the surface on her relationship with them and with her children. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's a classic Danielle Steel which her many fans will enjoy- good beach read.

What a dynamic story that I had a hard time putting down. Another gem from Danielle Steele.

Mattie is a world renowned photographer who embarks on a cross country trip after an accident leaves her with an injured ankle. After a contentious discussion with her daughter she's left feeling disjointed and upset. She heads out to visit three former lovers to determine if her life choices were the right ones. Along the way she finds herself and reaLizes you're never too old to find love.

She reconnected with all three of her children and enhanced her perception of the USA in her journey. Peace and tranquility in the flowers, sky, and scenery opens her up to a world of opportunity. Once she returns home and back to work, she realizes that her life is everything she wants now and not the danger from some of her assignments. Run out to get a copy of this one: I highly recommend it.

I received a free ARC eBook from the publisher and Net Galley for my honest opinions.

Another very good Danielle Steel book. A divorced mom of 3 who hardly ever saw her kids. She has made a life for herself but a fall and broken ankle gives her the chance to re-evaluate her life. I really liked how her children finally came to value her and I loved her relationship with William. A very, very good book that I will reread

When I heard that Danielle Steel now publishes seven books a year, I wondered what would happen to the quality of her stories. While she's never been a great prose writer, as a storyteller she's usually fairly reliable. She's always been prolific, but seven books a year seems like a bit much. However, instead of losing steam, her newer books seems more entertaining than some of the books she churned out in the early 00's. I've noticed that her new books are shorter than the older ones, and the shorter format seems to work for her. She tends to repeat the same thought over and over, which can get incredibly frustrating after a while.

Lost and Found is her newest book, and it tells the story of Maddie, a successful middle-aged photographer with three grown children. One day Maddie finds a box that includes some memorabilia of three important love affairs she had earlier in her life. When she falls off a ladder and breaks her ankle, she decides to track down the men from these affairs. The road trip is also an opportunity for her to escape the tongue-lashings from her controlling daughter, who wants Maddie to sell her home and go into assisted living.

Maddie's cross-country trip leads helps her to make peace with many of the decisions she's made. It also leads to a new love affair--which should come as no surprise, as this is, after all, a Danielle Steel novel.

I enjoyed Maddie's journey into the past, as she reconnected with her former lovers and with two of her three children, from whom she had grown distant over the years. The characters were unique and the emotions felt genuine. I was able to look past all the repetitive sentences because at this point, I know better than to expect great writing in a DS novel. It's her stories that keep me coming back for more.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

Lost and found by Danielle steel. I've always been a fan of Danielle Steel's novels and this one hasn't disappointed me. This is a story of second guessing yourself and not being sure you did the right thing.

I loved this story. I was instantly drawn in to this distant but loving family. It really shows that even though we may be related personalities within a family can be vastly different. I really enjoyed the journey Maddie found herself on. I did feel that most of the story felt predictable but in the best most comforting way. I really want a copy of this book for my bookshelf.

This was a good book about finding yourself after you are left with an empty nest. People talk about this a lot, but I never thought about what it would be like to be in the empty nest alone.
