Forgotten Legacy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️by Robin Perini

I did read the first book in this series Forgotten Secrets and I thought it was terrific. The first one I read with my book club this one I jumped on when I awesome the authors name.

Singing River a small community in rural Wyoming has had a multiple murder on the outskirts of town. This book involves the FBI profiler Riley Lambert and Sheriff Thayne Blackwood. These two were paired together as friends in the first book and now their friendship has blossomed into love.

Not to be distracted by them but to understand the talents of a profiler looking at the smallest detail and speaking to and listening to people when they give their encounters.

Thayne’s grandmother suffers from Alzheimer’s and her abilities and inabilities at to this mystery. As a member of a family that has had loved ones inflicted with this disease I can the author is spot on.

I think this book is so memorable as was Forgotten Secrets for me. I would highly recommend it.

This book took to long to be published since the first one was released to give the reader the full impact that it could have for those of us that read the first book years ago. I could not remember the back story and so I was lost and I was not going to go back and reread a book that I had already read so long ago. I wish that the the two book would have been closer together like the stores were and then maybe I would have taken more away from this book.
Overall, this was a good book with some gaps because I was lost because I was not totally sure about what happened in the first book.
I am giving this book three out of five stars.

Forgotten Legacy is the second book in Singing River Legacy series. I read the first one in this series a while ago and loved it. When I received an invitation from the publisher, via Net-Galley, to read and review, I eagerly accepted. My opinions are my own and are not influence in any way.
Robin Perini’s writing is thrilling, gritty and graphic at times. Forgotten Legacy exhibits all those characteristics, making it fast-paced, keeping me riveted throughout the entire book. I could not read fast enough!

Riley Lambert is an intriguing character. Her motivations are clear when it comes to her career goals, but cloudy regarding her romance. She’d torn between the driving force of her job with the FBI and her love for Thayne. She cares for her sister and feels a great deal of guilt regarding that sister’s kidnapping, which is what lead her to her career choice. Most of this is revealed in Forgotten Secrets, and while Forgotten Legacy can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the first book if you want to understand all the dynamics of her relationship with Thayne and why she’s so torn.

Thayne Blackwood is a fantastic hero. He’s an ex-Navy SEAL who has given that career path up to become the sheriff in Singing River, when his father becomes too ill to handle the job, and for his Alzheimer’s-stricken grandmother who loses more of her faculties each day. His loyalty to his family is commendable. His grandmother’s character is engaging, and a huge asset to this series. His love for Riley is strong, and while he understands her conflict, his pain for what he fears will ultimately separate them, is gut-wrenching.

While Forgotten Legacy is heavy on the thriller aspect, the love story between Riley and Thayne is strong. I truly ached for Thayne and wanted Riley to realize he is more important than her job. That part of the story is emotionally-charged and come through strongly.

If you enjoy novels with plenty of suspenseful scenes interwoven with a great love story, then you will love Forgotten Legacy. Hold onto your seat because it’s a thrilling ride! I hope this series continues because the characters are all amazing. Happy reading!

Always an intriguing read when you get a Perini book. She has personal connections with Alzheimer's and wrote both books with Gram, an Alzheimer's patient, as the center of the mystery. She holds the family together, along with the town. But, she's lived her own life and has her own secrets that eventually are revealed. Riley, an FBI profiler and fiance to Sheriff Thayne, is convinced in her gut that a fire was not an accident but murder. The story is woven intricately with secrets, mystery, intrigue and compassion. This small town comes together when it's threatened by a large influx of strangers and a relationship realizes its true potential. Although there are two books it's not necessary to read the first to enjoy the second, it helps with backstory but the reader will not be confused. My copy was given through Netgalley.

Forgotten Legacy was an enjoyable, engaging, well paced, well woven story That had a good blend of mystery, family and interesting characters. It also kept me guessing until the very end, and as a new author to me, I would certainly read more from Robin Perini and this series in the future.

I would happily recommend.

I devoured the first book in this series, and this one was just as good. It starts of just after the events of the first book, Riley is back on a case helping her old boss and is feeling torn. She loves her job, in a way she’s defined by it, after so many years searching for her sister, she’s unsure of who she is now, she longs to feel needed and her old boss needs her home. On the other hand, she loves Thayne and Singing River, but fears there’s no need for her to be there. It’s not the crime capital of the USA. You really feel for both Riley and Thayne as they try and workout if their relationship is real, or just steeped in danger and excitement. As a reader your invested in their love story and want them to be happy...

The case was really exciting and you were pulled along with our heroes as they try and solve a crime that seems to make no sense. But my favourite part of the book is Thaynes gram and her battle with Altzeimers, which keeps secrets looked away, secrets that can help them solve this case. It was heartbreaking watching her go from being lucid, to being scared, angry and lost, and the author portrayed the desperation of her family beautifully, you really hurt for them all

So glad I discovered this author...look forward to reading more books from her

I really enjoyed the book and would give it 3.5 stars. The details from Forgotten Secrets were a little foggy, since it's been three years since I read it. The book pretty much picks up where the last one left off. Riley is so frustrating throughout the whole book. I wanted to shake her and make her see what is in front of her, instead of running away. Riley finally has her sister back in her life and a loving fiance, but still isn't happy. I didn't love Riley as much as I did in the first book. It's suppose to be a romance, but I didn't always feel the love between Thayne and Riley. There were twists and turns. I loved the whole mystery behind the killer and couldn't wait to find out the connection he/she had to the Jordans. When the reason behind the murders was finally revealed, I just didn't buy it. The motive felt like a let down, I guess I expected something else. Of course there will be a third book, where Thayne and Riley will hunt down all the victims. Poor Helen is always put in danger, but she's one strong lady. I enjoyed the story, characters and writing style. At times I felt like the story got bogged down by Riley's back and forth about staying in Singing River or going back to DC. The problem was easily solved, but took so long for her to come to that conclusion. I wouldn't mind learning more about Cheyenne and Brett's relationship in the next book.

The Afterword was very touching. "We have learned to cherish and embrace the small moments of joy even as we navigate through tears. " Beautiful words on how Perini's family dealt with her mom's Alzheimer's. It must be devastating when your mom can no longer recognize you.

Definitely recommend the book and the previous one. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I just hope Riley sticks with Thayne and doesn't keep doubting herself. Christmas seems too far away for them to wait.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Montlake Romance through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

4 1\2 stars out of 5
This is the first I have read in the Singing River Legacy series. This story could be a stand alone novel but readers will feel like they are missing the connection between Riley and Thayne. Even though the author updates the readers quickly with what happened in the last book the romantic connection feel off as the characters are trying to find out what they want.

The murders, investigation, the love between all the different characters flow brilliantly though the story intertwining as the grandmother suffers from the Alzheimer with a secret everyone is needing to know.

The author brings to light to suffering and joy comes from Alzheimer. You can feel the authors pain that she has personally experienced.

It made the story heart breaking but as it came closer to the ending the story broke apart leaving readers wondering why the madman really was killing people. It didn't make since.

I wish the grandmother secret was the main focus instead of the killer who didn't quite make it believable his reasons for killing.

The author has a passion for her writing and her characters but the mystery fell apart as if she wan't sure what she wanted the killer to be and why he was killing lack focus.

Thank you to Netgalley ad the publisher Montlake for the advance copy of Robin Perini Forgotten Legacy.

I was so glad to see the author did a sequel in the Singing River series. I love Riley, Thayne and all the Blackwoods!!! You can't help but not feel as though they become your family. This series has everything I love about romantic suspense- just the right amount of romance , lots of suspense and just enough mystery to keep me guessing! From the very beginning when you try to figure out why Kim and her husband were set on fire the book just keeps you captivated till the conclusion. Absolutely love this series! I definitely would recommend this book it will keep you reading into the night!

Forgotten Legacy is Book 2 of the Singing River Legacy series by Robin Perini. Even though I'm sure a reader could follow along just fine without having read Book 1, I do recommend at least picking it up as it shares a lot of insight into the back story playing out this time around.

This is the only 2nd book I have read by this author and I must say I am impressed. This story is an edge of your seat, action-packed thriller with a dash of romance. Overall, it was a great story and I look forward to reading more of Thayne, Riley and the Blackwood family.

Thanks to Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review

I really enjoyed the story line and the characters. This book was full of act ion and emotion. This book really pulled at the emotions watching this family deal with dementia of an older family member. This is the second book in this series

FORGOTTEN LEGACY by Robin Perini tells the story of Thayne, Riley and a murder mystery. Thayne and Riley are already an established couple - to be honest, I didn't always feel the connection between the two but the mystery of murder was certainly a bigger factor in this story. The threats and danger were intriguing and held my interest - trying to figure out who done it and where they would strike next kept me turning the pages. Thayne's family was amazing - they are the epitome of a good family - loving and supportive. My heart hurt for them as they tended to Helen, their grandmother. This is book two of the series and I have not had the opportunity to read book one. I wonder if I might have had a better connection to Riley and Thayne had I already read it. Overall, this is a good mystery with a touch of romance too. (received ARC for honest review)

First I need to say this is not the normal type of book that I would rate 5 Stars. But after I read it and then read the Afterward by the author, I felt compelled to rate it so high. It is a secondary family saga story that spans several generations. The main story is about Riley and Thayne and their love for each other. Riley is a FBI agent with a special talent. Thayne is a former military man who is now sheriff in a real small Wyoming town. They definitely love each other but can Riley give up the thrill of working in a big city for the freaking FBI for Thaynes’ small town? But interwoven with this love story is a mystery-almost a thrilling mystery and I’m not fond of mysteries. For Forgotten Legacy I just might make an exception. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy for my honest review.

Another great book in the Singing River series. This book, like the one before it, is filled with action from the very start. It kept me riveted throughout. It was completely unpredictable; just when I thought I had things figured out, the author proved me wrong. I fell so in love with Thayne, and I wanted to whack Riley upside the head for even thinking about choosing work over him. ;-) Fans of romantic suspense should definitely check this one out. It's well written, well paced, and well balanced in terms of romance and suspense. What a gem!

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for providing an ARC for review.

The is the second book in the Singing River series.

In Singing River, Wyoming, a house fire claims the lives of 2 people. But was it an accident? FBI agent Riley Lambert. Riley doesn't think so, she received a call from the woman who died in the fire. She looks closer at the fire with the help of her fiance, Thayne Blackwood. The couple's daughter is the lone survivor of the fire. Could she have started it or could she hold the key piece to who is behind it? Thayne's grandmother holds a piece of the puzzle, but trying to dig the piece out is easier said than done. Thayne's grandmother has Alzheimer, so she doesn't remember what she knows. Can they put all the pieces together in time before someone else gets hurt?

This book is written as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading the first book in the series. I am enjoying this series. The character are well written and as well as the story. I had to keep reading to find out what happens, with the mystery and with Riley and Thayne.

This mystery is full of suspense, action, and love. This community is rocked once again and it's up to Riley, Thayne, and their family to figure out what is going on in the place they love. There are so many touching moments with just the right amount of humor added in. The plot is full of twists that will keep you guessing. The conclusion is more than satisfying but I still hope for more books because I just fell in love with these characters.
