This book was not what I expected. The subtitle and title led me to believe it would be about emotional intelligence and the importance of that in leadership. While that was an element of the book, it is definitely not the full picture. The book talks more about the practice of "focusing" and listening to an inner voice. While some of the book's premises and ideas were helpful, I'll admit for me, it was a little bit "out there" and its practices aren't ones I'll regularly use.

Very interesting read and also quite insightful in the topic of inner evaluation.
The book touches on reconnecting with your inner voice, intuition, or however you want to call that hunch that we all have on certain occasions. The author also calls this our spirit guides or guardian angel, a concept which is present in various religions and spiritual practices.

The author claims that by focusing inwards, we can access and be able to listen to that inner voice.
For this purpose, the first section talks about focusing. 5 different exercises are available so you can practice focus.

The following section goes on to talk about listening. And another collection of 5 exercises are featured in this segment.
