Review:
I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews about Sandie Jones and I was pleased to find out that they were all right! This book was easy to get into, was a quick read, and was thrilling from beginning to end. Some thrillers are so predictable...you know from the beginning what will happen in the end. This one definitely wasn’t that way. It kept me guessing til the end! If you enjoy thrillers with strong female characters, a good mystery, and a few people who aren’t who they seem, this is the book for you! Another highly recommended book!!!

This book is so good! I read it in a day because I could not put it down! I love the writing style of Sandie Jones, the book just flows really well which made it a super quick read that kept my attention the entire time. I really liked the way the stories of both Alice and Beth were presented because it had me trying to figure out how everything tied together. I was sure I had figured out about half way through, but to my surprise the twists just kept coming. This is one of those books that has you thinking “just one more chapter”, then 2 hours later you’re still at it. Definitely pick this one up if you’re looking for an unputdownable reads with twists that will keep you guessing until the last page!

A solid mystery that will keep you going, The ending left me unsatisfied, but overall I enjoyed the book.

Sandie Jones did it again! When I read The Other Woman (before it was Reese's pick), I was obsessed with it. I feel the same way with this one. The best part was the fast paced nature of the book. She jumps in with almost a chick-lit grab and then it just starts getting a bit more worrisome that Alice's life isn't as perfect as she thinks.

Then the reveals start happening. I have to say that I figured out a few things, but I didn't catch the big reveal at the end. I loved it and will recommend to all of my friends.

Thanks netgalley for this advanced reader copy for my review!

I knew I wouldn't like this book. I decided early on. I was wrong at every plot turn. I usually do unravel thrillers early on in the book. Not this one. I overlooked the extraordinarily well hidden clue.

Overall not a bad book. I couldn’t give it high stars like everyone else because I thought this book was just a bit on the boring side. 3/4 of the way through is when it really grabbed my attention and then came the twists and turns. At that point I think the suspense part of the story was rushed too quickly. Don’t think I would recommend sorry to say. Thank you netgalley for letting me give an honest review of this book.

5 enormous stars!! Sandie Jones has done it once again! Oh my goodness, I predict that The First Mistake will be one of the top summer reads of 2019! I adore suspense novels that shock me Sandie Jones has managed to blow me away with both of her novels. The storyline was brilliantly thought out and the pacing was perfect, Sandie Jones does a great job putting twists and turns in the absolute perfect spots! I found myself on the edge of my seat until the last page! I recommend The First Mistake to EVERYONE- a true 5 star read!

Alice: a mother and wife who lost her husband. She's trying so hard to overcome her fear of her children being orphans. At the same time, she's trying to keep her husband's dream alive with expanding her interior designing company.

Nathan: Alice's second husband who is always being compared to a ghost.

Beth: Alice's best friend. A single mother who is trying to raise her girl with what little she has.

The story line follows very much the same as Sandie Jones' last novel. It is twisted to the point on non-recognition. When you think you know something, it's not even the opposite but something completely different. I don't like Alice as a protagonist. She's weak and helpless all the way until the end. It's a wonder that she's even alive. It's frustrating. It was a great read.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this fabulous ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my goodness—this book literally defines what it means to be a page turner! I did not and frankly could not put down this book once I started reading. It was full of twists and a big surprise at the end which I did NOT see coming. I highly recommend this book and am so impressed with the author! I read Sandie Jones’ other book “The Other Woman”, which I also loved.

Great fast paced book! The twists and turns kept me guessing. I swore I knew what was really going on and I was completely and utterly wrong. I really enjoyed reading this and stayed up way too late to finish it. I really enjoyed this author and plan to read her other book (The Other Woman) now too.

(I plan to post this review on Goodreads/ Amazon once the book is published.)

This book was an absolutely page turner. This is my second book by Sandie Jones. The first one was The Other Woman which was fantastic but in this book, The First Mistake Sandie Jones has outdid herself. As you know from the blurb, about Alice and what happened to her and then there is this supposed best friend who definitely has another agenda. As the book progresses, you begin to understand more when you get to Beth’s story. This book has more twists and turns and intrigue and suspense which keeps one reading to the finish. I do not want to give away any spoilers but even in the last chapter there is another twist. I highly recommend this book if you love psychological thrillers. Bravo to Sandie Jones on a terrific, page turning book and thanks to net galley for this ARC I received for an honest review. This book was an absolutely page turner.

I liked this more than the Other Woman, but I still didn't love it, the ending felt really rushed and there were a couple plot holes that felt like a Three's Company misunderstanding more than actual ~drama.

I really loved the Other Woman by Sandie Jones and I knew right away I'd want to read her new one! First, let me begin by saying that I flew through this book. I had a suspicion I knew what was going on and I was completely wrong. This book was super entertaining. That said, I just didn't truly connect with it for some reason. I never really got a feel for the characters' true personalities and the ending lacked substance for me. I feel like it ended quite abruptly. I'm glad I read this book and I found it a good book to just relax and enjoy...I just wanted more from it.

Thanks to NetGalley for an advance copy of this novel. All opinions are my own.

I read The Other Woman and could not put it down, so when I heard about The First Mistake I knew I had to read it. I devoured this book in two days!! Alice is married to her second husband Nathan and running a thriving design business. After finding a few clues that lead her to think that Nathan is having an affair things quickly spiral out of control. This was a twisty, compulsive read!!

Sandie Jones second novel is as delightfully twisty as her first. Several years ago, Alice was widowed, leaving her to care for her daughter and the business she and her husband Tom started together. His death took her to a dark place, and that anxiety has shadowed her ever since.

Today, though, it seems like those days are behind her. She’s remarried a man named Nathan, who is a devoted husband and loving father. Alice’s business is taking off, with the opportunity of a lifetime just about to go through. And her best friend Beth is loyal, trustworthy and a whole lot of fun.

The shadow of anxiety returns when Alice begins noticing signs of infidelity in her husband. Of course, he denies everything… but Alice knows something isn’t right. And then there’s Beth, who after years of friendship, still hasn’t met Nathan, making excuses every time they have a chance to bump into each other.

What’s really going on? And why did Alice’s dead husband Tom just show up on Facebook with an update from yesterday? Once you start this book, you won’t want to put it down, so clear your calendar and settle in for a roller coaster of twists and turns.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is the second book I've read by Sandie Jones, it did not disappoint. This thriller had me staying up late and waking up early to finish it. I loved the twists and turns and the so many "I wonders". I truly enjoyed this book, will be recommending to friends and family once it's published. This is a must read!

Alice had a great marriage until her husband died- or so she thought. She met Nathan and while he wasn’t her first husband, Tom, she loved him and married him. Then weird things started happening with Nathan, but he kept gaslighting her with explanations. Should she trust him? She turned to her best friend Beth but discovered things Beth had done and couldn’t trust her either. Everyone and everything in her life was upside down. Lots of twists and turns made for a good story

Wow! There were twists and turns that I did not see coming. Alice has rebuilt her life after the devastating loss of her 1st husband Tom and is about to embark on a major work project with her new husband and partner. But things are popping up that have her questioning everything- her memories of her husband, her new husband, and even her sanity. Was Tom, her first husband the man she thought he was or was it all a lie? Can she trust her new husband Nathan? Will she survive this new business venture with her sanity and her life? A thriller that keeps you reading and guessing

The First Mistake, the latest thriller by Sandie Jones, is a twisting, turning tale of friendship, love and betrayal. I thought I had the ending all figured out only to have my theories turned upside down and tilted sideways. I thoroughly reading this. If you enjoyed The Other Woman, I think you’ll like The First Mistake even more.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Alice’s character. Hated Nathan (but made me love Alice more). I read this book in less than a day. It was fast-paced and engaging. I was surprised by the twist which, as an avid reader, admittedly doesn’t happen often for me. Thank you for the opportunity to read!
