You can’t help but like (and possibly relate to) the lead female character of T.M. Logan’s new book, “29 Seconds”. Sarah works hard and hopes to be promoted and she’s a dedicated and loving single mother. And by the same token, you can’t help but detest the lead male character, Professor Alan. He is purposely blocking Sarah’s path to advancement because she won’t play “footsies” with him, and he makes it nearly impossible for her to have any time with her child. As Sarah continues to rebuff him, his threats and open harassment become bolder and more demanding.
Thru a chance in timing, Sarah saves a little girl from being kidnapped. The thankful father is quite the underworld and mafia type who offers Sarah, as payment in return for his debt to her, to “disappear” anyone she names. She’s aghast by the offer, but over the next few days, Professor Alan does everything but insist she name him. So she does.
The events unfurl at a rapid pace and are somewhat confusing, and at times you’ll want to scream at Sarah to be stronger, quicker, and meaner. In time, though, Sarah will not let you down.
(I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review. Thanks so much to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for making it available.)

This book has an amazing premise, although the follow-through is a bit shaky.
If you were given the opportunity, would you have a terrible person eliminated from your life? Following an extremely unlikely event, a young academic, Sarah, is owed a debt by a mobster. She is given 72 hours to decide if she'd like a problem (person) to disappear. She is torn--her older colleague, Hawthorne, has been demanding sexual favours in exchange for job security and her life would be so much easier without him in it. Could she really bring herself to make that call?
A fun read with a good ending, but it felt like it took awhile to get there. I was starting to get a bit bored of Sarah's ruminations.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read an advance copy.

29 Seconds is not a book that you can put down. I found that out the hard way. When I started reading 29 Seconds, I had every intention of reading a couple of chapters and then putting the book down. Yeah, it didn’t quite work out that way. I stayed up until 2 am reading this book. 29 Seconds is that good!!
Sarah is a professor who is being sexually harassed by her superior at the university she works at. Seeing what happens to those who stand up to him, Sarah endures his touches and inappropriate comments. After an unusually stressful day at work, Sarah witnesses and thwarts an attempted kidnapping of a young girl. Her father, a brutal and powerful man, offers her a burner cell phone and the promise to take care of anything for her. All she needs to do is to make the phone call and give a name. But can Sarah do it? Can she provide the name of the one person who is making her life a living hell? Can she live with herself?
The author did a fantastic job of setting up the main storyline. But I did have a hard time believing it. If the #MeToo movement hadn’t of happened, then I could see the situations that were presented in the book happen. But still, Sarah’s stress and distress over what was happening at work were palpable. I got upset for her.
Sarah wasn’t my favorite main character, but I also didn’t dislike her. There were times where she came across as whiny. But there were also times where she showed surprising strength. I liked how she took her life back after it seemed like she hit rock bottom.
I detested Alan. He was one of the vilest characters that I have read to date. He deserved everything that he got in this book. I felt like I needed a shower after every scene he was in.
The thriller angel of the book was well written. I was kept on the edge of my bed (I was in bed reading), wondering what was going to happen next.
The end of the book was excellent. There was a twist in the plot that I saw coming. But it still surprised me when it happened. I loved what happened to Alan. Talk about justice!!!
I do want to add that Sarah’s dad was the real MVP of the book. His advice was what convinced Sarah to do what she did.
I would give 29 Seconds an Adult rating. There is sex. There is mild language. There is violence. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.
I would reread 29 Seconds. I would recommend it to family and friends.
**I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book**

I was prepared to race through this book, more or less expecting the story. I was wrong.
While it starts is sadly typical fashion, asshole men, some at their worst and some only middle of the road dickheads, a stressed mom trying her best.
A chance event offers her an opportunity that at first seems resistable, but soon becomes too tempting to not use. I am not sure I would have had her restraint.
And the usualTelltale Heart guilt, and the usual careful what you wish for as you just might get it. But.....
This is the point where the story got more interesting to me. Now what?
The overall tone of the book gave me hope as the walls seem to close in and the ending did make me happy. A little engineered, but satisfying nonetheless.
This was more fun than it looked at the outset, give it a read, you will enjoy it.

I really really enjoyed this book. It was really well written and the characters are described well. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It was great.

I actually really liked this book. But his first book was much better. This one did keep me interested, but not glued to my seat. I would still recommend to others.

I wanted to thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for a chance to read this book....
29 seconds doesn't seem like a very long time but within that Sara had to make a choice....give one name...
This book had so many twist and turns it was amazing! Everytime you thought you knew what was going to happen it got switched up!

T.M. Logan's 29 Seconds is a fun, twisty ride with a couple of big surprises that I did not see coming.
Our main character Sarah is in an abusive, HR-nightmare situation at work, with no positive resolution in sight. When Sarah is offered the opportunity to give up the name of any one person and have that person disappear forever, with nothing linking her to this disappearance, of course readers know what is going to happen next.
Or do we?
I hope you enjoy this stand-alone novel by T.M. Logan. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was eager to read this as I really enjoyed this author’s previous novel. However, there is something major I do have an issue with...
Let me start by saying that this is a great story. It’s timely and relevant. A young female professor experiencing sexual assault, blackmail, and threats from an older white male? Yes. Yes it works. But this isn’t Logan’s story to write. As a white female, I would never dare write a narrative from a POC’s perspective because that’s not MY territory. Women writers still face discrimination and hardship in the publishing industry. I just find it ironic that a white male feels this is his story to tell. That doesn’t fly with me.
Again, the story itself is good - but this wasn’t Logan’s story to tell.

What would I do,? This was the question I couldn’t shake. Had me hooked from the very beginning, Great read for those that enjoy revenge based books.

The book had some good plot twists, but at times, it felt redundant. I liked the book, but I didn't fall in love with it. It's a quick read and I'd recommend it if you like thrillers.

I really enjoyed the debut Lies so I was very excited to receive a copy of this novel. I enjoyed this book, not as much as Lies, but it was still a good page turner. Sarah's life is not without trouble, her husband has left her for another woman, she is now a single mom with a career that seems to be on the right track, except for the fact that her boss is an abusive sexist pig. When Sarah saves the life of a little girl, she is given the opportunity to rid herself of one person who will disappear with no consequences to her. A little far fetched, but still highly entertaining.

I received an free advanced copy of 29 Seconds by T. M. Logan in return for an honest review.
Here are my thoughts .... While the book was decent it often felt repetitive to me. It did have some plot twists that made me gasp. I love when a book will take an unexpected turn. I was able to finish the book in a day so it's definitely a quick, "easy" read. Out of 10 stars I'd give it a 6. It was good. Just not great. Where he kept repeating would get annoying and there were other times I felt that the novel wasn't finished I wanted to hear more from the characters and what they were thinking. If you are in to mystery and a who dunnit type book this will keep you guessing until the end.

29 Seconds was another captivating and emotion wielding page turner by T.M. Logan. Within the first few pages I knew dishes and laundry were going to take a backseat to this fast paced read. The multi-faceted intertwining plot kept me speculating up until the final pages.
Do yourself a favor and purchase 29 Seconds, and if you have not treated yourself to Lies, throw that one into the cart too.

T.M. Logan is a master at suspense building books with a thriller vibe. The writing is so good that it made me feel many emotions at what Sarah had to go through with sexual harassment: anger, frustration, sadness, fear, stress, powerless, entrapment. It definitely creates the #MeToo feeling.
The plot has a thought-provoking woman vs. herself struggle. I wondered many times what I would do in Sarah's situation. I rooted for Sarah to overcome her fears and insecurities, and become a stronger character. Not many men in the book are portrayed in a positive light with the exception of Sarah's father. There are a few likeable characters in this story but definitely more unlikeable ones.
This book is about harassment, power, decisions, regrets, justice, betrayal, revenge, and consequences. It's an edge-of-your-seat thriller and unputdownable. For most of the story I felt that Sarah would never get ahead of the situation, but the ending was very satisfying and gave closure.

I loved Logan's book LIES so I was highly anticipating this one, and once I started the first chapter I knew I was hooked and wouldn't be doing much but reading yesterday! It's a fascinating thriller about Sarah, an up-and-coming young professor who is constantly harassed by her boss, Alan who threatens her at every step until she is at her wit's end. But when one random good deed produces a promise: "I can make anyone in your life disappear," her life seems hopeful again. Nothing, of course, is as it seems though and this novel is so relevant in this era of the MeToo movement. Revenge? Redemption? Yes, please! I loved it all!

4.5 stars!
29 Seconds by T.M. Logan was a completely addictive page turner from beginning to end. T.M. Logan will lead you on to think that you know what is coming and then BAM, he flips the script and you literally saw none of it coming. I absolutely loved this and found his ability to do this while maintaining a realistic plot was completely worth it. I rooted for Sarah to finally deliver to Alan Hawthorne what he deserved. 29 Seconds may not seem that long... but...

After reading Lies T.M Logan's debut book i thought i would give this a try as well,i am glad i did as 29 Seconds is every bit as good as Lies.Sarah is having problems with her boss at the university where she works as he is a serial sexual predator who can get away with anything due to his position of power,on her way home one day she stops an attempted abduction of a little girl and as a thank you the girls dad offers her a once in a life offer of having anyone in her life who is causing her problems to disappear forever with no questions asked. What follows is a very good gripping thriller with plenty of twists and turns that had me turning the pages towards the clever ending,an excellent 4 star read i would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.

29 Seconds is a great book. I recommend if you’re looking for something entertaining and enjoyable but not overly complicated. I enjoyed this one and also the authors other book too.

I received an advanced digital copy of this book from the author, Netgalley.com and St. Martin's Press. Thanks to all for the opportunity to read and review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
The name T. M. Logan is going to become as synonymous with the thriller genre as Hitchcock. Again, Mr. Logan sets the reader on a path of no return and unexpected twists. Characters are real and fully developed. The ending will leave you speechless.
5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended. Add to your TBR list now.
