WoW! This book has everything I want in a thriller. It's unputdownable. Be prepared to be glued to this story! I won't give anything away so just read it!!
Fast paced and lots of twists. One of the best I've read.

While I recognize that the topic of sexual harassment is timely, 29 Seconds is a pretty creepy look at it. It was hard to believe that a university professor who behaved as badly as the one here, it's harder to believe that he would get a pass by the university given the prominence he brings to the school. Yet we know that situations of serious harassment are everyday occurrences. They just don't make for the kind of reading I like. Hopefully 29 Seconds details a case that is at the extreme. To think otherwise is pretty darn scary!
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

Fabulous premise and a totally ingenious plot. Really enjoyed the book and it was an unexpected delight. Would I have taken the challenge, probably, and halfway through I was thankful I didn’t. Tight writing skills kept me reading way after I needed to go to bed. And then it kept me awake.

Having a boss that is a sexual predator is not what Sarah wants, but she needs to keep her job to support her family. Sarah saves the life of a young girl with a very powerful father and he intends to repay the good deed. He has the power to make things and people disappear. Sarah is given a once in a lifetime opportunity to do something without consequences. The opportunity to eliminate her uncomfortable work situation. Just two words. It only takes 29 seconds to change her life, as well as the lives of others. But does anything really come without consequences. I won’t give away the ending. This is my second ARC book by T.M Logan and I will definitely lookout for his next book.

Essentially, this is everything I want in a thriller. It's unputdownable.
Fast-paced (chapter length helped!) and smart, I was glued to my Kindle screen, awaiting what would happen next.

Thank you to the publisher, author and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book.
This was a very enjoyable read. There were some twists and turns that I really enjoyed. There were times I felt the book was dragging on and wasn't getting to the point. I really did enjoy how the book finished. I will definitely read more books by T.M. Logan.

Wow you guys, just wow. So, over the weekend I had the chance to review a book by an author I've read before. Last July, I read Lies by T.M. Logan and thoroughly enjoyed it (you can take a walk down memory lane and read that review here). So this time, T.M. Logan is back in the thriller game with this latest book "29 Seconds."
I'd like to just say I practically devoured this book. It caught me right away. Sarah works at a university where she is constantly fighting off the lecherous paws of her boss who is praised within the university community. What everyone knows but no one acknowledges is that he is horrible to women and crosses the line constantly into sexual harrassment and worse. Reporting him to HR has proven to be a useless endeaver and telling him no, never works for any woman. Women who do try end up on the losing end. Sarah is his latest target and faces losing her career and everything she works for unless she stops saying "no" to him. This element alone made me want to read the book.
Add in this though. One day enroute to picking up her kids from school, Sarah does a good deed and saves a man's life. Thanks to that someone is in Sarah's debt and offers her the chance to get rid of one person in her life. No questions asked. No trace left. I'm sure you all know the dilemma Sarah is facing. What's the right thing to do?
This book grips tightly and doesn't let go. I loved the fast pace and the twists and turns. Each point felt like a roller coaster ride that I didn't want to stop. I really liked Sarah a lot and she was someone I could identify with. I can't believe I'm saying this but there isn't really anything bad that I can say. T.M. Logan has really proven himself to be a worthy thriller writer to me and without a doubt, I look forward to his next book. Actually, I liked this book better than I did Lies and I thought Lies was pretty great too. So kuddos T.M. Logan - you won me over with this one!
If you love thrillers, surprise endings, and a moral question that won't let you go, even at the end, then you will want to read this book.

29 seconds can change yours, and someone else's life, forever. Sarah Haywood is trying to work her way up the ladder to tenure at the university. Her supervisor is a professor with a lot of money and sway. He's also a serial sexual offender and for years has been by trying to blackmail female employees to have sex with him at the university . Disgusting to be sure, and sometimes true I'm sure in our current climate. It took quite a bit of reading, to come to the whole "29 second" part of the book. By saving a child, Sarah is given a "gift" of having someone "disappear". Want to guess if she does? Who she might choose to disappear? Just desserts of course, but the novel was rather disjointed and took what was a worthy premise and made it too improbable for me.
Special thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an ARC for an honest review.

I could not put this book down. I feel this type of thing happens more in real life than we know. An educated woman caught in the good ol' boys club who can't seem to get promoted unless she is willing to "take one for the team" and have sex with her supervisor. Everyone protects him and it seems like she makes a deal with the devil to rid herself of her troubles. Strange twists in this book.

I requested 29 Seconds because I enjoyed Lies so much. Unfortunately, 29 Seconds did not live up to my expectations. If you like a slow burn - this one might be for you? The plot moved at a painstakingly slow pace, like trudging through mud. It felt as thought we were hearing the same few points over and over and over again. Tack on some wildly outrageous story lines and I just can't get onboard.
Although 29 Seconds had a 5 star ending, the last 3 pages could not make up for the rest of the book. I will still keep an eye out for Logan's future work, this one just wasn't a hit for me.

This is a timely revenge novel that is perfect for the current relations of sexual harassment. The story has some twists and turns that keep it from becoming a story with an obvious ending. I did feel that the characters were not very nuanced. The single mom who has pulled herself from a middle/working class family to being an academic with seemingly promising opportunities on the horizon. She is thwarted by a lecherous senior professor, who is also a national television star.
We are sympathetic towards the main character but her character didn't develop through this traumatic series of events. The professor was a character that became more malicious and sadistic. He enjoyed the power and the game of terrorizing the heroine. This makes it easy to cheer for the impending revenge. The twist at the end of the book makes this better than the usual story but the flatness of the characters held this back from being a more powerful work.

Sarah finds herself in a nearly impossible situation in which there is no solution without serious risk. This book follows the main character as she fights a true evil and seemingly loses, repeatedly I might add until the thrilling and cleaver conclusion. Great job TM Logan I look forward to your forth thriller! Your writing makes me want to stay up all night at the risk of not being able to function the next day....and I love it!

I really liked this book. The characters were well developed and the storyline was excellent. I will read more from this author. Thank you!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of 29 Seconds. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
LOVED THIS BOOK! This novel provided a huge amount of adrenaline inducing anticipation and action from nearly the first page to the last. I rooted for Sarah, convincing and relatable, to rise up from a mousy woman to having the strength to fight back against the overbearing, would-be-rapist that was her boss. This narrative was so well described and played out so vividly in my mind that the fear I felt was REAL. The twists which deeped the terrifying experience were phonomenal! I believe this book would translate seamlessly into a very well received motion picture. This is an amazing second book from T. M. Logan, who is quickly becoming my favorite author of thrillers, and I will now read EVERYTHING written in the future by this truly talented writer.
Thank you to NetGalley and T. M. Logan for the ARC!!!

Wow! This was a thrilling read, it literally called to me whenever I put it down. The characters were perfectly at ease in their skins, played their parts to perfection with a deftly constructed narrative.

29 Seconds is a must read. I could not put it down. Logan kept me guessing how the story would end. I will definitely be reading every book by T.M. Logan.

An amazing thriller! Had a couple of red herrings that I tried to follow, plus a surprise ending. Highly recommended!

The publisher provided me with the opportunity to read this in exchange for providing feedback. (via NetGalley)
This book was engaging from the beginning and kept a good pace that made it hard to put down.

Loved this book. It took a little while to set the scene but after that, it was tense, gripping and action packed. I started reading it in the bath and didn't want to get out until I'd finished ... needless to say, the water went very cold! Can't wait to read more from the author. It isn't the most realistic plot but I find that thrillers often aren't these days and in this case, it made for a pretty unique plot. Highly recommended!

If you were given the chance to make your biggest problem, or rather, a person causing your biggest problem, disappear, would you take it? When Sarah is given this one time opportunity, she becomes conflicted; morally, is it right? Or should she take it in order to preserve everything for which she’s worked so hard? T.M. Logan explores this moral quandary in 29 Seconds, and while the reader is introduced to both sides of Sarah’s dilemma, the plot meanders, the details are vague when they’d benefit from being sharpened, and the conclusion is rather unsatisfactory. While the premise of the story is promising, 29 Seconds feels flat and uninteresting throughout.
