A Funny, Sweet, and HOT romantic adventure
Sexy retired quarterback Lance has taken over his grandfather's team The Mustangs and all it's employees. He wants to make changes .Hi dream is to see this long time losing team become winners again. He's loud, jumps without looking and a bit of a playboy.. He starts by firing old boys club and doesn't follow the rules and uses non PC language when he does it. Charlotte is one of the long time employees and head of HR. She is a rule follower, paper pusher and dismayed by her new boss's lack of decorum and the possible legal outcome from his methods. While she maneuverers, all the right forms filled, and apologies sent, Lance works to rebuild a broken team., when he mentions a possible addition, and Charlotte lists his playing stats from memory, Lance can't believe his luck. Charlotte is a super fan with a knack for numbers, and an eye for hidden talent. Together this unlike duo will try to rebuild the worst team in the league and it's not going to be easy between these two opposites.
What a fun read ! It was hard to like both these characters in the beginning. They each were so stubborn, and wouldn't listen to each other. This was not an insta lust/love read, this relationship took time and it got dirty before things started changing. The characters were fantastic, each breaking the normal types found in so many books. Charlotte was a statistical genius, not a gold digging women, or even someone searching for Mr. Right, what an awesome female characters trait. Ms. Madsen is not afraid to break stereotypes. Lance while presented as a typical jock was anything but when his character was fully drawn out. This was a fun, sweet, dirty, lol, romance wrapped around a sports team family.

When Charlotte’s boss dies and his grandson, Lance, takes his chair as the owner of the NFL Mustangs team, she gives him the riot act (as HR rep) about the way he is treating the employees. She is a stickler for the rules and he is an a$$.

I loved this fake wedding date/boss-employee/slow burn/sports story HEA! I thought it would be more predictable and same ole-same ole, but the author Cindi Madsen did a wonderful job with the storyline and had me loving it from cover to cover! This had so many wonderful aspects! I loved the family parts, the characters were all fantastic, even the heartbreak part I felt so hard (I literally felt the hollowness in my heart and chest…but I won’t ruin it and give more deets, as I signed a NDA!), and I loved the epilogue!

Overall…I absolutely loved The Wedding Deal by Cindi Madsen and would totally recommend it!

A football romance from the owner's box that is infused with laughter, wit and a whole new 1st row staff. Clearly, an HR nightmare according to Sec. ??? well, ask Charlotte bc she is the walking talking rule following HR manager. Lance, former QB, current owner, a walking talking rule breaker. Together they make their own team (there's heat) and need to come up with a winning combination for the real team.
Enjoyed the story concept with a kicka** female in sports and lighter reading that had me lol'ing regularly, but still bringing forth several realistic issues. I did feel his brother's wedding got a bit more time and detail I could have done without. Still a great stand alone read and I look forward to more in this series.

This was a fun, easy going, slow burn romance with Lance and Charlotte. When his grandfather dies, he leaves Lance his NFL team, the Mustangs. The most losing team in the league. The only person to stand up to Lance is the HR manager, Charlotte, who is not afraid to speak her mind and remind Lance that he must temper his words and follow the guidelines in the employee handbook. With the clock ticking for the start of Draft Day and having to effectively rebuild the Mustangs, a week off to attend Lance's brothers wedding could not come at a worse time. The most effective use of time? Bring Charlotte with him, together with her forms, her handbook and her sass!

The book is enjoyable, shows that women can be powerful in business, but not total bitches. The writing flowed and the story moved along at a reasonable pace. Nothing felt rushed or dragged out. Ms. Madsen did make me want to root for the characters and for them to find their HEA. I would certainly recommend this book.

A wonderful story that takes to people who are skeptical about love and throw them together. Charlotte is all about following the rules because it is what keeps her grounded. She doesn’t believe in love. Lance has been hurt before and has trust issues. For the love of football they will make their own rules. These rules eventually lead to things crossing the line into the personal.

The story is filled with fun and witty wisecracks from the characters. The tension between the two is often hilarious. The family dynamic is great! You will enjoy the mini madness that takes place at the wedding and in the office. You will find plenty of opportunities to laugh and thoroughly enjoy the ride to their happily ever after.

The Wedding Deal is a workplace romance with a bit of an enemies to lovers thing going. Because nothing says conflict of interest like...well, I can't say because I was forced to sign a NDA. 😉

You see, our heroine, is sassy, feisty, and the head of Human Resources. So any pertinent information I have about this book and the characters in it can not be disclosed. I can not in good conscience, or financially, tell you anything about the Mustangs, their staffing issues, or the actual Wedding Deal. Nope. Legally, I am bound not to disclose the tension filled lusty moments between boss and employee. I also have nothing to contribute to any conversation, accusations, or rumors about players being added, coaching staff, or other prominent parties.

So if your looking for the scoop, you'll just have to sign the NDA (also known as one-click) and read it for yourself!

This was a cute book, easy to pass the time but I would probably pick something else, why? well while I did love myself some Lance and thought he was funny and a sweet geeky guy, Charlotte although smart kind of annoyed me sometimes and I also found this book to be a little slower than I tend to like. We have another fake romance who we know will eventually lead to the real thing..Wished we had an epilogue probably would have given me what I felt was missing.

This is the first book in this new series by Cindi Madsen. I have to say it was a great start to this new series. I just loved Charlotte and Lance. They had so much chemistry between them. The story line was humorous but I also found it to be sweet and romantic. Cindi Madsen really knows how to tell a story. This book had it all. It was sweet, romantic, funny and had just enough drama to keep you guessing. I really am looking forward to the next book in this series. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

“I’m about to violate every section of the handbook.” -Lance

It was hard for me to connect with the
characters because of the writting style. I may be a little biased for first person point of view, but as I kept reading I was able to understand them better. I guess I just love it when I'm in their head. See things as they see them.

The story is cute and I enjoyed the pace. Definitely a slow burn. Also as a fellow Bookworm I loved all the other book references.

“Listen up, Edward Cullen." - Charlotte

I think Lance has to be my favorite. Funny, passionate, and sweet. A big guy with a bigger heart. Charlotte is smart and beautiful. But because of their walls in general I don't think I felt much for either character until half way of the book. When they let their feelings show. I loved them together and that epilogue was everything I hoped it would be.

What a great book! I’ve read books by Cindi Madsen before, so I figured I was in for a treat, and I wasn’t wrong. Charlotte and Lance are so wonderful together. I absolutely loved the quick wit and bantering between the two of them, and laughed out loud a few times. Lance takes over his grandfather’s football team, The Mustangs, and Charlotte, the HR manager, is scrambling to pick up the pieces when he decides to do a complete overhaul of the organization. Suddenly, the two find themselves spending a lot of time together as they work to mitigate the damage Lance has unwittingly done, while also pulling together a new pool of talent to help the team start winning again. Lance is scheduled to travel from Texas to the East Coast for his brother’s wedding, and decides that bringing Charlotte along for the weeklong trip will kill two birds with one stone: They can work on rebuilding the team, and Charlotte’s presence will stop his mom from her well-meaning but unwelcome attempts to set him up with other women. Charlotte and Lance agree neither of them is in the market for a relationship, so it seems perfect. It turns out that fate has other plans. The two of them find that they are a great team, both in the office and the bedroom. But Lance has trust issues from a relationship gone very bad, and a misunderstanding on his part might ruin their working and personal relationships. I really loved how “real” both characters seemed. They were flawed and funny and a perfect match for one another. And Lance is eager to have Charlotte’s help when he finds out she’s got a head for stats and a deep knowledge of both the team and the game in general. Far from being threatened by her, he encourages her to speak up and takes her advice very seriously. They both have a healthy respect for one another, and Lance has no qualms with everyone knowing Charlotte is a part of the decision making, despite football still being a male-dominated enterprise. There are a few other characters introduced in the book that I’m hoping will get their stories told, too, especially Sean Bryant, the new head coach of the Mustangs and a guy with an “All-American Dude meets Viking vibe.” This book had humor, heart and heat. Definitely recommended.

4.5 stars

The Wedding Deal, by Cindi Madsen, was everything I’ve come to expect from Madsen: great characters, lots of chemistry, and good writing with plenty of sass and humour. Charlotte James is the head of HR for the football team Lance Quaid just inherited. The attraction between them is obvious, but Charlotte is a rule-follower. She is good at her job, knows and loves football, and refuses to cross those lines. Lance learns quickly that she’s an asset to the organization and asks her to attend his brother’s wedding as a business associate so they can work at rebuilding the team. It isn’t long before sparks fly outside the office.

I really liked Charlotte and Lance, but more importantly, I loved them together. They truly complimented one another. Madsen brought great balance to the story, showcasing the pair’s chemistry with a slower burn that made perfect sense for Charlotte’s cautious side. I loved the push and pull between them, the flirty banter and how they had trouble keeping their hands off one another once they were finally together. They talked about things before they acted, which I also loved. I’d absolutely recommend this book to anyone who loves romance.

First up, thank you for the chance to read this book, sadly, I got to 11% and had to stop reading.
Since last year I have totally fallen for the romance genre (adult or new-adult), and so I was very eager to read this one. Sadly, Charlotte is just eh, and Lance really needs to listen for once. While I still like Lance over Charlotte, because he is cute and seems quite sweet, I also think it is annoying how he treats people. Like how he fired people? How he just mocks Charlotte? How he just doesn't give a shit about things? He seems to think that office = footbal/sports. But that isn't how it works.
And Charlotte needs to chill and stop being so snarky towards her boss. I get that she is pissed by his attitude (anyone would be), but this is not the way to get things done.
Plus, I thought that maybe this would be a tad bit different from the tons of other books about getting a fake date, but it was just too much like other books I read. Sorry. :(
Again, I normally don't rate DNFs, but on Netgalley I have to. :(

A stickler for the rules and a hothead who doesn’t even read the rule book. What could go wrong in that scenario?

Lance and Charlotte were hilarious. They couldn’t be more different when it comes to policies, protocols, and paperwork but when it really matters, these two are perfectly in sync. Their passion for the game, their team, and each other was off the charts. I loved the banter, the honesty, and the drama.

This is an awesome start to this series! I loved all the characters and can’t wait to see who’s gets their HEA next!!

5 Stars and here’s why:

I loved this story! And the book cover had me from the get-go! THE WEDDING DEAL is a flirty read and the title pretty much gives away the plot. Still, it’s a witty contemporary romance that had me turning the pages to see if Charlotte and Lance finally get together or if they call it quits. Everyone loves a good wedding story and Ms. Madsen delivers. I found the author’s writing excellent, the characters engaging, and the plot thoroughly entertaining. If you like sexy guys with a side of sports and savvy girls with a mind of their own, then this book is for you. Highly recommend.

I know with Cindi Madsen I can expect entertaining, romantic, sexy, light-hearted stories and swoony heroes; and The Wedding Deal continued that tradition.

I think the blurb pretty much gives away what the story is about; we have Lance who is taking charge over his late grandfather's NFL team, which t has been doing pretty bad and among his drastic measures to turn the situation around is firing most of the team; one who doesn't get fired though, is Charlotte, his very capable Human Resources manager.
I liked both Lance and Charlotte, they were easy to care for and both have very distinct personalities. I do admit a couple of times I wanted to shake Charlotte a bit because she's a total rule follower but that was also part of her charm and of who she was, so I get it. The banter between these two was one of my favorite things, you really find some very funny dialogues in this book. While the plot may be predictable there wasn't a moment were I wanted to stop reading, Cindi manages to have you engaged with what is going on.

I think anyone looking for a funny and charming romance story should definitely add The Wedding Deal to their list.

When Lance Quaid received a life ending injury to his knee, he knew his quarterback days were over. Around the same time, his grandfather passed away and left him the NFL team he owned, the San Antonio Mustangs. He doesn’t have any experience in running a football team, but he sure knows what works for a team to win. Plus, the Mustangs were winless last season. On his first day meeting with the coaches and staff, he fires half of them. Yes he knows he lost his cool, but these men haven’t done anything to help the Mustangs win. When his HR manager storms in yelling at him for what he had just done, telling him there is a process to follow before he makes any rash decisions. Charlotte James is a sexy and extremely smart woman and he comes to realize, he’s one lucky SOB to have her on his side and working for him. He’s never met anyone that knows stats like she does, heck she knows more than he does.
Charlotte all of a sudden is at a loss for words when Lance suggests she come with him for a week to North Carolina for his brother’s wedding. Since they have so much to do to get ready for the draft, they could work when he’s not doing wedding stuff. Working closely with Charlotte is becoming harder than Lance thought. She’s sexy and funny and all he can think about is kissing her and taking her to his bed. However, he knows that Charlotte has all these rules and he doesn’t know how to convince her to break them.
Will this week work in his favor or will Charlotte turn him down.
GREAT BOOK! I loved it.

Lance Quaid just inherited the worst losing football team in the NFL from his grandfather. Now that Lance can no longer be a quarterback because of injury he's looking forward to turning the San Antonio Mustangs around. Too bad most of his staff doesn't seem to have the same attitude. When Lance ends up firing just about everyone, he makes Charlotte James' life miserable since she is the Human Resources Manager.

When Charlotte gives Lance a piece of her mind, Lance is quickly turned on by Charlotte's sassy mouth. Too bad she works for him because she is the first woman who has excited him since his ex-fiance cheated on him.

Charlotte is a rule follower and likes her life neat and orderly. While Lance doesn't like to follow rules, he quickly realizes that Charlotte is worth far more to him than an HR manager....she has a fantastic mind for football.

When Lance has to leave town for his brother's wedding, he convinces Charlotte to go with him so they can continue trying to form a football coaching staff. Charlotte reluctantly agrees, after making Lance sign a form called The Wedding Deal!!! While these two are in North Carolina for the wedding, things start to heat up after having to spend so much time together. Just when it looks like these two are going to get a happy ending, things from both of their pasts come back to haunt them causing Lance to say things that he will later regret. It will take a LOT of grovelling and one fun and interesting move to win back the heart of the woman he now realizes that he is in love with.

I just adored this story. Charlotte was such fun. I loved her knowledge of football. I also loved that some of the story seemed to tie in with the recent history of the Cleveland Browns (my fav team) even though the author said she is a die hard Denver fan. I also enjoyed Lance. It was fun watching him have to rely and trust a female again. I also loved Lance's crazy and strong family....they were all a hoot! Overall this was a great story with great, fun characters.
