Beautiful illustrations and a great message make this a perfect book to read with your kids! The cover is what caught my attention first- it's so adorable! Pick up this book and gather your kids onto the couch, you won't be sorry!

In this picture book, a rabbit is given three wishes when he had not been expecting them. He decides to consult with three of his friends to find out what they would wish for. He then tries to figure out if he wants what they want.

Read this book to your child while enjoying the delightful illustrations. See if your child would make the same decisions that little rabbit does.

All in all, this is a sweet rhyming story. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-galley. All opinions are my own.

Thank you for the review copy, NetGalley. Wish tells a cute story about friendship and selflessness. It also sends the message that good deeds tend to come back to you. The sweet illustrations in this book are lovely.

This is a beautifully illustrated book with a good message. The art style and spare text give it a dreamy quality. The very last line of text about going on an adventure is lovely. Kids will enjoy reading this!

Simple rhyming couplets tell the story of a rabbit who somehow manages to capture three wishes, though the whole process of that is not described. Lucky rabbit goes off to ask his friends what they would wish for, though he gets such specific answers that none of it applies to him. What he ends up doing. . . well, you could see it coming a mile away.
I wish I could give this higher marks, especially because I believe kids would like and learn from this. But the ending feels like a TV episode where the protagonists lose, only to be reprieved at the last moment by a ridiculous dues ex machina, which takes away anything that might have been learned before it.
The artwork has a vaguely 3D feel to it, though not too much. Most of it is pastel landscapes that are pleasing, if you notice them while reading the text.
2.5 pushed up to 3/5

The artwork is the best part of the book. It was captivating. It tugs at the heart strings. It's the kind of artwork that would make you say, "Awwww". It is simply nicely done and perfect for a picture book.

I'd like to say that the story elicited the same reaction, but I had a bit of a disconnect.

The rhymes feel like they are geared towards a much older audience and not a preschooler or toddler. I have trouble envisioning that it would keep a young child's interest for the entire story. It is a short story, but it does seem a bit longer. I have to admit that I lost my way a few times and had to re-read a few lines.

I think that I got the message of the story, but I also feel like I'm missing something. Like I was waiting for a punchline to clarify or accentuate a point.

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the ARC

Chris Saunders' Wish is a treat for the eyes. The images are magical and carry the love and warmth of the text on every page as you join in on Rabbit's search to find out what he could wish for. The themes of friendship and generosity are woven into the text so that young readers easily identify them, but there is room for exploration and discussion of much more! In the words of a first graders:
"Aww! You need to read it!"
"Rabbit is so sweet!"
"AMAZING pictures!"

This is a story about kindness and friendship. A little rabbit is granted three wishes. When he can’t decide what to wish for, he asks his three friends the mouse, the fox, and the bear what they would wish for. After listening to them, the rabbit decides to grant them their wishes only to notice afterwards that there is no wish left for him. But his friends appreciate his generosity and share their wishes with him.

The story is heartwarming and the language is child friendly and most of the time simple and rhyming. But my favorite part were the pictures. They are gorgeous. I just really enjoyed looking at the pages. The illustrations are colorful and delicate and feel like a bit like magic or like a dream.

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wish by Chris Saunders is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary. I found this book adorable! The lovely illustrations with cute little animal friends and a generous nature added so much to the book! A bunny gives his three wishes away to his friends but that doesn't leave him with nothing. Cute story

When Rabbit is chosen by not just one but three wishes he is unsure what to wish for. He asks his friends what they would wish for and as they tell him he continues to wonder if it's a wish he would make. Once he has asked them he makes wishes for his friend, then realises that there isn't a wish left for him. Will he find a way to have his own wish granted? And how will his friends react when they learn their wishes have come true?

This book is beautifully illustrated and holds a message encouraging you to show kindness and friendship to others and the rewards that can bring.

The illustration of the wish as a floating object, reminded me very much of a dandelion clock and gave the illustrations a magical quality. I also loved how Rabbit's scarf led you through the story as it blew onto the following pages. I found myself following it and wondering where it would end up. As a child that would definitely have kept me intrigued and as a teacher I would be encouraging children to predict where it the story would lead.

The story would be great for reading with young children when introducing rhythm and rhyme and how that can help a story to flow and move along.

Many thanks to the publishers for granting me access to an eARC of this book for review via NetGalley

This was so heartwarming and sweet. Dandelion wishes turn into a question of what to wish for and an exploration of others wishes. Rabbit is such a charming character and the rhyme is perfection. We loved this adorable picture book.

Rabbit earns three wishes. But he doesn’t know what to do with them, so he turns to his friends for advice. Great book about how helping others leads to good things in return. This book is simple and repetitive, but the message goes deeper so that even older children can enjoy the story!

I admit it, I'm a sucker for kids picture books. So when I saw that this one was available to "wish" for, I did and my "wish" was granted!

The cover is just the tip of the iceberg re: the beautiful artwork. It's so delicate and gentle. The colors work well and the storyline is sweet with the rabbit and his friends and his three wishes. I think the artwork is a tad more interesting to me than the story, but it all worked well together.

I think this one would make a great gift. 4 solid stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for an eARC copy of this to read and review.

A beautiful picture book about a rabbit who receives three wishes. Not knowing what to wish for her asks his friends what each of them would do with one wish. In the end Rabbit grants, his friends wish instead of his own. Truly beautiful!

3.5★
“Once every year wishes take flight,
filled with hope and twinkling light.
They dance in the air, with a swirl and a swish,
you have to be lucky to be chosen by a wish.”

[My Goodreads review includes an illustration of wishes landing on Rabbit's nose.]
Rabbit is lucky! Three wishes land on his nose, but he doesn’t know what to do with them.

[My Goodreads review includes an illustration of Rabbit consulting Mouse.]
So off he goes to ask his friends for advice. Mouse, and Fox and Bear all have good ideas, but Rabbit isn’t sure they’re what he wants.

[My Goodreads review includes an illustration of Rabbit imagining a hot air balloon adventure.]
He imagines what he’d do with their wishes.

He grants their wishes, but then he realises that he forgot to find a wish for himself! Oops!

[My Goodreads review includes an illustration of Bear taking Rabbit, Mouse and Fox in his boat through the sky, seeking adventures.]
No matter. Bear has a surprise for him, and he collects Rabbit and the other two friends and off they go to find an adventure!

This is a very pretty children’s picture book told in rhyme. The illustrations are lovely, the rhymes aren’t really up to scratch. I’m someone who enjoys rhymes that actually rhyme and scan or else free verse that doesn’t. I find this an awkward mix that isn’t neither one nor the other.

But it’s a cute book, kids and parents will enjoy it, and I thank NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for a preview copy.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from Quarto Publishing Group - words & pictures and Netgalley for my unbiased opinion of the book, I loved the graphics and artwork it was magical. The story touched my heart and it will be an instant classic for many years to come. The story is about a rabbit who only has one wish that can be granted and he goes and talks to all his friends to see what they wish for hoping it will help him decide. This is a must-read for any kid and a great book to give as a gift!

Wish is a lovely book about friendship and about putting yourself in the shoes of others. Very cute illustrations and a nice message.

What a beautiful book of friendship and wishes. When Rabbit gets a wish, he doesn't know what to wish for so he asks his friends. They each tell him what they'd wish for but Rabbit thinks "Is this wish for me?" When he finally makes up his mind he makes wishes for his friends, but he's sad when he learns he has no wishes left for himself. Then Rabbit's friends share their wishes with him and he soon realizes his self-less act is rewarded.

Beautiful illustrations and rhymes, any child would love this book. Older kids could get a lot from it as well with its powerful theme.

This was one of the cutest children's books I have read recently. The colors were bright and images captivating. The simplicity of the images also made it easy for the reader to stay focused. I loved how the bunny's scarf flowed through the pages, almost giving the reader a line to follow through the story.

The messages of being selfless, treating others as equals, and inspiring others are well written and clear. This is a great book for young children with a deeper meaning.

Thank you Netgally for Wish. I read it three times. My favorite part of the book are is illustrations. They are soft, gentle and the animals are so innocent and genuine.
This is a touching story about the power of kindness, sharing and friendship. Little Rabbit has never had a wish before but one day he gets not one, but three! Not knowing how best to use his wishes, he asks his friends what they would do if they had a wish. This act prompts Rabbit to give all three wishes to his friends. They are so grateful for his kindness and generosity they share their wishes with him.
While I don’t think this will be a go to book in the library for most young patrons, I feel it definitely has a place for readers ages 0-110.
A beautiful story and gentle message for all in a not so gentle worked.
