I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me through NetGalley. This book was just absolutely wonderful. It was just so easy to get lost in and I just couldn’t put it down. This is the eighth book in the Blessings, Georgia series and even though I hadn’t read the previous books I was just so lost within this story that I didn’t even care that I hadn’t read the previous books. I most definitely will read more by this author.

Let me start by saying I want that house on the cover.
I love this town, its people and the sense of family. Of course there's a lot of gossip thrown in there too.
Bowie and Rowan are a great couple but the book held so much more. A senseless feud that has gone on for generations imploded, lives were changed forever.
I follow this author on social media and felt she put herself and family into some of these characters. No one is a stranger in Ms Sala's well spun tales. I enjoyed this story immensely and can't wait for the next one.

A Rainbow Above Us is a heartwarming emotional story regarding a small town ravaged by a hurricane & the people that survived it. It’s a story about love, loss, guilt & redemption. Bowie James came back into town to help his grandmother, Pearl & Aunt Ella fix their home after it was nearly destroyed by the hurricane & the flooding. Rowan is the sole survivor of her family & has no one left. Pearl & Ella had taken Rowan under their care & offered her a place in their family. From the moment Bowie & Rowan met, they were drawn to each other.

These characters grab your heart & you suffer alone no with them. The plot mainly involves Bowie’s past & why he left town & didn’t come back until now. They say you can’t out run your past & in Bowie’s case, they’re right. He was not the one at fault for the events that happened but the minute he stepped foot in town, it all started up again. The story is a study in contrasts. The family drawn together in love & supporting each other against the family ruled by hatred, fear & revenge. One survives the encounter & one implodes.

A Rainbow Above Us by Sharon Sala 5 stars

There are trigger warnings for violence and sexual assault in this story.

I love the Blessings, Georgia series and look forward to each one. This one shows the aftermath of the Hurricane that occurred in Forever My Hero. Bowie James has come to Blessings to help repair his grandmother's home that was flooded in the hurricane. However, his memories of this town are far from good. He and his mother were driven from this town by Judson Boone and his family. When he was still a teen, the men in the Boone family beat him to a pulp and told his mother to leave town. This had to do with a family feud and hate that spans generations.

He meets with his gran and his Aunt Ella in their temporary housing in the nursing home. Another hurricane refugee is Rowan Harper, a woman that has lost her family and her home. Their interactions form the love story for this book. I throughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one in this series. Sharon Sala writes characters with courage, grit and faith in their hearts.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC.

Bowie comes home to fix his grandmother’s and aunt’s home after a hurricane devastated this small southern town. He hasn’t been here since his mother took him and ran when he was a boy. Lots of history...like who his father is and town bullies. But also lots of love. Rowan’s had her own share of hardships but meeting Bowie isn’t one. A true feel good romance sure to please readers.

A Rainbow Above Us is the latest book in the Blessings, GA series--and one of my favorites. Bodie has come back to the town he left so many years ago, the town he swore to never return to. After a hurricane runs through town and ruins the house he grew up, his aunt and grandmother have no where to go. Bodie has become a successful builder and brings a crew to rebuild, but finds his aunt and grandmother have taken in a young woman who lost everything in the storm. Rowan was sheltered by her father, but doesn't realize how much until after he'd gone. She and Bodie have an instant connection, and both have pasts that are painful, but find that with each other, they may be able to get through. This was a great and heartfelt story--and I absolutely recommend it. It can be read as a standalone, but I would suggest reading the rest of the series. as well.

Sharon Sala is a new author to me and I am so happy I was given the opportunity to read this book. I am definitely going to be reading more stories by this author. This is a story filled with real, believable, characters with some intrigue, mystery, and real emotions. It is a story of love, hate, friendships, and family all blended into a wonderful, funny and sad story. Don't miss out on this one!

Another great addition to the Blessings, Georgia series! After Hurricane Fanny tore through town and left his grandma and aunt homeless, successful builder Bowie James comes to town to repair and remodel their house. He said he'd never come back to Blessings, but they're the only family he has left. He and his mother were run out of town years ago and he hasn't forgotten those responsible. As soon as Bowie shows up they're determined to kill him but he's not the young boy he once was. He's a strong determined man who can hold his own.

He meets Rowan Harper, a young woman who lost everything in the hurricane and realizes that he's never known anyone like her before. Old bitter feuds stir up trouble but Rowan and Bowie work to overcome it to be together. Excellent!

Sharon Sala brings us back to Blessings and all the familiar faces who live there. This time, we meet Bowie James returning to help his Aunt Ella and Grandmother Pearl after the devastation of Hurricane Fanny. Not long after his return, he receives a welcoming that most people would avoid from the people who ran him and his mother out. Still, he gets his family and Rowan Harper, the woman who sought shelter with them after losing everyone and everything, back to his trailer.

Bowie and Rowan each have a past that never truly goes away living in Blessings. But, they also have each other to lean on during the good and the bad. It is up to them to see if they can put the past behind them and become the people they want to be for each other. With the help of the townspeople and self reflection and growth, will they learn from the past to achieve a better future?

Sharon Sala has brought us another family from Blessings. It was so nice to meet new people while catching up with the familiar. I really enjoyed seeing these two young people grow as their story progressed and how the past shaped not only them, but the people around them. Their story was sweet and warms the heart. I look forward to meeting more people from Blessings.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this privilege.

Another great book by Sharon Sala. This is one of my favorite authors. This is part of the Blessings Georgia series. I love the details she puts in her books and the emotion between the characters. I really liked how the town finally came together and supported Bowie once they knew what really happened in the past. This is a book that I highly recommend

Well first off, this is a great series and I love the little town, the townspeople and the sense of community. These books all have what I would call karma and redemption themes without cliché or cheesy- which I love.

Bowie James is back in town after having left under horrendous circumstances. Bowie is immediately loveable. Coming in to help "his girls" displaced after the hurricane. His grandmother and aunt meet a sweet girl at the nursing home who also suffered tragedies thanks to the hurricane and is need of rescue herself.

Rowan is the isolated farm girl unaware of her sweetness and beauty. She was just the everyday sweetheart and I was anxious for she and Bowie to get together as a couple.

The other happenings in town always lead to a very interesting and dynamic book when ready of Blessings, GA. The entire Boone family must face the sins of their past and the way they treated Bowie and his mama, Billie. Never fear that Sharon Sala won't give them their due- and then some. Redemption of one is usually at hand and I loved the person it fell to this book.

Thanks for the ARC NetGalley and Sharon Sala.

This novel depicts the power of love and the emotional draw that family brings when disaster strikes. It touches on hot topics of loss of innocence in many ways. The hero is a result of rape. He sees the rapist face in the mirror. Having been beaten and run out of town by the rapist and his family, he’s further devastated by his mother’s suicide. Even so, when a hurricane damages his grandmother’s house, he returns home to rebuild the only home he ever had. There he finds another lost soul, the heroine. The hurricane destroyed her farm, taking the life of her father as well.Giving strength to one another, supported by his grandmother and aunt, they face the past truths, and in doing so, they are freed to rebuild hope and love as the house is rebuilt. This story is a pleasant, quick read that leaves readers turning pages to discover the reactions of the characters to the events in the past and present. It is a story of hope and redemption, with an abundance of family love.

This was an easy read...a bit lacking in character development for me, and it sometimes bounces from one character to another all of a sudden, but overall, a good wee read

Bowie and Rowan are the latest couple to find love in Blessings, Georgia. Town lost both her father and their farm after the hurricane hit Blessings. Bowie returned to Blessings to rebuild the his grandmother and aunt’s home that was badly damaged by the hurricane. Bowie and Rowan are both dealing with pain from both the past and the present, but their love is helping them to find the rainbow at the end of the pain. This book is a great addition to the Blessings, GA series!

****This review contains some mild spoilers. Please don't read it if you don't' want to know ***

From time to time, I need to read a sweet story. Sharon Sala’s Blessing series is all about heart and romance during adversity in a small town in Georgia.

If you’re looking for extreme angst this is not for you. You won't find twists or unbelievable shocks either. Just a straightforward romance.

Most of the stories have insta-love in them which I’m not a fan at all but for some reason, it’s perfectly acceptable in this series.

The book tells the story of Bowie James who comes back to town to help rebuild his grandmother and aunt's home after it was damaged by Hurricane Fanny. Currently, they're living at the nursing home. Pearl and Ella have created a bond with a young woman, Rowan Harper. Harper lost her home and her father during the Hurricane. She's thankful for Pearl and Ella's friendship and their offer of shelter.

Bowie lost his mother when he was eighteen. He loves his aunt and grandmother and when his aunt calls him, he knows he can't leave them stranded. Bowie builds homes for a living and helping with their home renovation is the least he could do for them. But coming back to Blessings will mean bringing back the longtime feud between his family and the Boones.

The feud began three generations ago. It became worse when Randall Boone raped Bowie's mother when she was sixteen. Then when Bowie was a young man, Randall, and his brothers beat him up and told his mother and him to leave town or worse. Ten years later, Bowie is only back to help his grandmother and aunt. Yet, on his first night back, Randall’s brothers, Melvin and Emmitt, try to attack him but Bowie defends himself. The next morning, his car is keyed by Emmitt's son, Emmitt Lee Jr. The cops are called in and they take the kid away. Bowie wants to be left alone but the Boones don’t seem to want to let him be.

Putting aside the last twelve hours, Bowie is happy to start rebuilding. Bowie is ready to pick up “ his girls” (Pearl and Ella) but he wasn’t counting on meeting Rowan. His aunt and grandmother had offered Rowan a place with them when their house becomes livable again.

As the days' progress, Bowie realizes Rowan's a beautiful woman inside and out and he’s lucky she has helped his family and happy she's in his life.

In a small town, nothing it's kept quiet for too long. Secrets and bad deeds have a way of surfacing. The town soon realizes the unfairness that had been bestowed upon Bowie and his mother.

I enjoyed A Rainbow Above Us. It was fast-paced, romantic and had plenty of small-town charm. The town of Blessings is a character on its own. Most of its people are good people. They rise to the occasion and lend a helping hand.

Cliffhanger: No

4/5 Fangs
