I received an advanced reader copy to leave an honest review of this book. I have read the entire SWAT series and love all of the characters. I love how everyone is a great big family and you get to see the characters from previous books. Paige Tyler has a great writing style that is easy to read and keeps you engaged.

This book follows Zane, a werewolf who was injured in the previous book and still feels the effects, and Alyssa, an FBI agent that handles cases with unique characteristics. Zane and Alyssa meet in a night club where their two cases seem to intersect. Zane is trying to find the man who betrayed and attacked his pack in Dallas and Alyssa is trying to track down missing woman. Alyssa is used to seeing the abnormal with her cases but usually there is no explanation; she suspects that Zane is unique based on his strength and the comments he makes. When she finds out what Zane really is, a lot comes into focus for her. But they have two very different lifestyles even though they feel a major pull towards one another. The question is whether they can make a relationship work once everything settles.

Paige introduces a whole slew of surprises in this book. I cannot wait to see where she takes us next with this series. This was an excellent read and a fresh spin on the series.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebook/Casablanca Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is book 9 in the series. It reads well as a stand alone. It's fast paced and suspenseful. I was confused about "monster" until almost the end. I think it should have been made clear sooner. I think there are many who will enjoy this book. I rate it 3.5 stars.

Zane is a wolf shifter and on the Dallas S.W.A.T team. He and two pack mates go to L.A. looking for the man that tried to kill his pack. Alyssa is on a special team in the FBI, she hunts down supernatural creatures. They both are watching the same man and end up fighting his bodyguards. Zane knows Alyssa is The One for him but will she consider him a monster? When Alyssa gets kidnapped, Zane will do anything to get her back. It has hot moments in the book .

Wolf Instinct by Paige Tyler is an exciting adventure. Full of paranormal beings, action, danger, and romance, Wolf Instinct gives readers exactly what they need. I felt the adrenaline pumping and the intensity of the situations as they continued to grow out of hand. The characters were easy to like. Their own dilemmas plus, their current mission had me on the edge of my seat waiting. I had know what happened next.

This book was impossible to put down. I absolutely loved the atmosphere that Paige Tyler brilliantly created. The growing passion and the dialogue between SWAT member Zane and FBI Agent Alyssa, had me hooked. It was funny how they could easily communicate without words. Their bodies were so tuned into each other's presence, neither one had to verbalize their words. There was a powerful connection that led to a make it or break it moment.

The truth found a way of coming out in the least likely of times. Their banters were heated. The FBI procedure and handling were done well. I liked the sense of mystery. It kept me guessing. Overall, Wolf Instinct is a must read for all romantic suspense readers.

I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

These books are crack, and I can't give them up but more importantly I don't want to give them up.

This book opens up the world a lot--it's not just werewolves anymore, it's possibly the same universe as the psy-ops series and definitely vampires. I assume she's setting the stage either to finish the SWAT and spin off something new or just looking to expand the series.

What fun! This installment in the SWAT series had mystery, danger, action and of course…romance. I was wondering what would befall Zane and was a bit worried that it would be the stereotypical human damsel. I needn’t have worried. Alyssa turned out to be an FBI Agent tasked with working on possible supernatural issues, so she was not completely clueless to the possibility of the paranormal. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t shocked though. I love that she is a strong woman, but never crossing the line into bitch-mode, thus making Zane’s attraction more than just “she’s the one”. Their relationship developed nicely, letting us see Zane’s Alpha side without it going Neanderthal. Ms. Tyler gave them each a depth that made me care about them. As always, I love the SWAT Team’s camaraderie – now including Alyssa’s people. The book has me excited for new expanding possibilities in the series…I only wish I didn’t have to wait.

Zane Kendrick is recovering from getting shot by hunters while he is in Los Angeles looking for the missing police chief behind it all. While trolling a club for clues to the ex-chief of police's whearabouts, he catches a scent so wonderful, so sweet, he recognizes it might be The One for him. Talk about bad timing!

Alyssa Carter might be with the FBI, but she's not with any department Zane has ever heard of -- she's investigating supernatural activity and immediately notices that there's something different about Zane. It doesn't keep her from checking him out, or thinking his British accent is the sexiest thing she's ever heard. She wants him, but her solitary years make her hesitant to go for it.

Meanwhile, together they find clues that may lead them to more than they bargain for when it becomes clear that werewolves aren't the only supernatural creatures out there.

Wolf Instinct is book 9 in this series, and you might think that the series would be winding down by now,but Paige Tyler has really done a great job of keeping this series interesting. Like most of the other books in this series, I really enjoyed Wolf Instinct. Zane and Alyssa are perfectly matched for each other and when she says of Zane in his wolf form that "he's beautiful" I fell for this group of SWAT officers and their soul mates all over again.

Overall, another entertaining installment in the series.

An ARC was provided for review.

Paige's SWAT wolf stories just keep getting better. And yipee the paranormal world has expanded with this delicious story. This makes me very happy. There are so many twists and surprises in this story. That makes it my favorite kind. I love being surprised by the author's imagination.

Zane Kendrick is the only Brit in the Dallas SWAT team pack. He's the one shot with wolfsbane poison and almost lost his left arm. He's now the "weak" link on the team and the pack is careful not to have him go it alone, which just torques him off. He, Rachel Bennett and Diego Martinez are trying to track down Randy Curtis, their former boss who tried to exterminate the who pack. He may be hiding out with family who are Black Swan Enterprises, a world money making conglomerate. On an op watching Stefan Curtis, the black sheep of the family, they run into Alyssa Carson an FBI agent trying to locate missing girls. She thinks Curtis is kidnapping them. She's on a FBI/CIA Special (aka supernatural) Threat Assessment Team investigating weird stuff worldwide. Zane wonders if she's the government's arm of hunters exterminating werewolves so the team decides he needs to stick close.

It is going to be interesting to see where she takes this series in the future now that we have a bigger supernatural world and we have closed the mystery of who is behind the hunters. I can't wait.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wolf Instinct
SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series - Book 9
By Paige Tyler

Sourcebooks Casablanca - July 2019

Paranormal Romance

Zane Kendrick was in LA following a lead with his fellow SWAT team members Rachel Bennett and Diego Martinez. They'd had to split up which was why he found himself alone when he noticed twin young ladies in danger of being abducted. Being a werewolf, the odds were in his favor, regardless of the injury he had recently sustained that hadn't completely healed. However, he found he had an ally in a woman who had shown up and had as many secrets as he did.

Alyssa Carson's newest FBI assignment was the unusual. She was sworn to secrecy, not that anyone would really believe the things she'd seen. She'd jumped into the fray to help Zane rescue the twins, but she was hesitant in trusting him with her case. However, the group she worked with was small and she was in LA alone, so agreeing to work with Zane, Rachel, and Diego just made sense. Their help would speed things along. It had nothing to do with the attraction she felt for Zane.

Wolf Instinct is an action packed, exciting adventure from beginning to end. I loved seeing more about the relations between beta and alpha werewolves. The truth about their adversary was a shocking twist. There were surprises which will add interesting elements for future stories. Most of all, it was a wonderful love story of Zane finding the perfect heroine just for him. I really am looking forward to seeing where Paige Tyler takes the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series next.

Heads up fans! this series is continuing to gather momentum in new and adventurous ways as more of the SWAT team members find their 'ONE'. This is not a book to be read out of order since it continues the story from the last one.
In their search for the villains from the previous story key members of the SWAT team are in tinsel town in pursuit of clues. Their search takes them to a night club where they not only spot their quarry but also notice some strange goings on. Two submissive wolves are being targeted and Zane smells the most enticing scent, could it be his 'ONE'?
As it turns out the enticing scent belongs to FBI agent Alyssa who though not a werewolf herself hunts super naturals. Though wary of each other they team up in pursuit of a common goal to decipher and unravel the mystery. Their search leads them to the most bizarre and sinister outcome which threatens to obliterate who and what they are.
Nine deep into the series, the author manages to make the story exciting while keeping her readers in suspense until the very end. It's a good thing that Alyssa is working in super natural crimes because suddenly werewolves are not the only super naturals in town.

“This isn't music” Zane said to fellow werewolves Rachael and diego who were all SWAT team mates, practically shouting to be heard over the beat coming out of the club that the sign at the entrance said was Attitude. Rachael was the newest member of the pack. The three SWAT members went into the club -Rachael and Diego pretending to be a newlywed couple and Zane was undercover as a British tourist. The target -Stefan- was standing with a security team of four at the far end of the bar. He did the same he did every night that they had been following him. Staring out at the people on the dance floor. Stefan’s uncle was randy Curtis who was the former Chief Of Police in Dallas and current member of the FBI’s top ten list of fugitives. Randy had tried to murder an entire Swat Team, as well as their friends and families-the team Zane was a member of. Six months ago the werewolves of the pack Zane belonged to, what a “ hunter” was. But in September they’de learned that groups of men roamed around the country killing any werewolf they stumbled across. Within weeks werewolves were coming to dallas looking for protection. Than Zane realized Stefan had moved from the bar to talking to two young girls as Zane wondered how they had slipped past the bouncers. Than Zane realized this was set up as a waitress brought the girls some drinks that were drugged. The effects showed immediately on the girls. Than Stefan left with one of his security men and the girls were being ushered by the other three toward the back of the club. When out in the back of the club Zane had already taken out one of the men when a woman stepped in and took out another of the men and he realized it was the woman with the scent that smelled so good in the club. The woman was FBI agent Alyssa Carson and she had pegged Zane as a cop and “special”. Than she thought CIA or some other three letter agency. Because he slipped through the crowd like a trained killer. Alyssa doubted he was there for the same reason she was. As she knew Christine Howard , her friend, inj the LA FBI field office was the only other law enforcement i=officer in the state that knew about the case Alyssa was investigating. When the body of one of the many missing people- a woman- had been found in a landfill with a bizarre cause of death Christine called Alyssa as she specializes in the strange and bizarre. Alyssa had no doubt Stefan was going to kidnap the twin girls considering his team. She saw the girls had been drugged. Maybe they were the guys who grabbed women and she could find them before more bodies were found in the landfill. Zane and Alyssa stopped to get something to eat after Christine picked up the girls and to take them to the hospital. Zane and Alyssa decided to meet the next morning to figure out how she and the Swat team could work together. Zane thought Alyssa may be The One from her scent but he couldn’t pursue it as he felt he no longer had a soul. Also he had to find Curtis and put an end to the hunters trying to kill everyone he cared about. Zane still couldn’t do much with his left arm after being shot by the hunters. He had tried to get a back hand swing with that arm at one point, and the pain had been so severe his vision had gone a little dark for a few seconds. From what his pack hacker dug up Zane had to wonder if Alyssa was working or was a hunter. Alyssa used her FBI card to rent an apartment across from the garage where they found the car the twins had been in with several identical to it there. Alyssa and Zane took a shift to watch the garage and rachael and Diego took the other. Than Zane had went to Alyssa's apartment for coffee and they became lovers. Than had followed Stefan to an unknown club which was different.- super loud with strobe light that about blinded you and several odd smells. Zane ran into a guy who was the twins alpha and he stayed with them than they saw the twins on the dance floor but the were taken by Stefan and another man and several odd creatures- who turned out to be vampires. before anyone could stop them. Zane and his pack hadn’t know vampires actually existed. Zane also saw the horror and other negative emotions on her face when she seen as a werewolf. When he had charged to protect her. Zane now knew Alyssa was definitely The One but now it was over.
I loved this book. It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it until the very end. I loved the action, danger, and intrigue. I loved Zane and Alyssa together and how they interacted. I rooted them on through the book. I couldn’t find anything to criticize in this book-HAPPILY! Loved the relationship of the SWAT Team as well as the relationship between Christine and Alyssa. I didn’t want to put this down. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

Alyssa is a special agent for the FBI, she investigates crimes that seem to be paranormal in nature, when she runs into Zane, a wolf shifter working for the Dallas SWAT team. She knows something is off since Zane is investigating in LA.

Accidently, Zane discovers that werewolves aren’t they only supernaturals in town and at least one of the other supernaturals wants all werewolves dead.

Zane recognizes Alyssa as his soul mate, now he just has to convince her and keep them both from dying.

Enjoyable and entertaining, Wolf Instinct answered a few questions in this series while opening quite of few new plot avenues and possibilities.

Paige Tyler is another new author to me and my only regret is I didn't begin reading this series from the beginning. "Wolf Instinct" was amazing and held me captive from beginning to end. I love paranormal stories of every kind and this didn't disappoint! Although there was a lot of information and details, it wasn't hard to follow. The chemistry between Alyssa and Zane nearly set my kindle on fire and I couldn't wait to find out how their relationship would work out. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to review this title.
My review is my honest opinion of this story.

WOLF INSTINCT takes us back to Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series with an intense, steamy romance with a few twists and discoveries that make this particular book one that followers of the series really need to add to their collection.

Zane has found his One in Alyssa. Yet she hunts the paranormal beings that she doesn’t really understand — just like him. Zane has been previously injured and going on this particular mission is his way of stating he’s fine, even when he isn’t really. When Alyssa teams up with Zane for this mission neither expected what they would eventually discover about the missing girls or what is preying on them. Somehow Zane has to explain exactly what he is and what Alyssa is to him without having her turn on him. That there is wildly addicting chemistry between them is on his side of the argument, but can she accept what she only has a vague idea of as her future reality with him.

There are twists in WOLF INSTINCT that caught me off guard and I completely loved the turn this series seems to take in Zane and Alyssa’s story. At nine stories in a series, I’m pretty comfortable with that world and begin to wonder when it’s going to wind to an ending. I don’t have that feeling here at all, in fact, it feels as though we are building for even more danger, intrigue, and romance. Which is perfectly fine with me as I’m going to hate leaving this world behind one day.

If you have followed the series from the beginning I feel that WOLF INSTINCT is a critical story. And I like the direction it is leading us.

I loved Zane and Alyssa together, they have issues to be dealt with but they are a believable couple. There is certainly danger here, some unexpected twists and turns, and always a very satisfying ending (even when it seems like a Happy For Now one). Love the Paranormal world of werewolves, thrive on Romantic Suspense? Then you’ll want to dive into this series, you’ll soon be hooked.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Werewolf Zane Kendrick will do whatever it takes to take the man who attacked his SWAT pack and his search has taken to Los Angeles where a smart, sexy agent comes to his aid and all his wolf instincts tell him that she’s The One. Alyssa arson has investigated some weird stuff lately as a FBI agent and finding people drained of blood definitely falls into their category so when she agrees to work with Zane and his team, she doesn’t have time for the attraction between them. When they discover the sinister truth it will take everything they have to make it out this mission with lives –and hearts- intact.

The electrically explosive chemistry between Zane and Alyssa is WOW to the factor of 10 but this relationship has a couple major handicaps which keeps readers on pins and needles. First they have this major mission that takes precedence and some uber important secrets that could implode at any moment, but their attraction will not be denied no matter how much they fight it which has sparks flying in every direction.

This fast paced and energetic plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of thrilling suspense regarding not only the relationship and the secrets but of course the search for the bad guys. Stunning twists and world rocking unveilings adds some truly remarkable, adrenaline pumping excitement to this story. These jaw dropping revelations also grips readers hard and has them curious and eagerly awaiting just where the author is taking our favorite SWAT werewolves! STAT someone bring lots of ice, because this is one sexy and red hot read.

What a great book! Zane and Alyssa were both wonderful characters. I absolutely loved them together, and loved how their relationship slowly developed throughout the story. I just wish there had been a few more “steamy” scenes (LOL!), but that’s just me being greedy. :P Everything (plot, action, romance) felt on-point, well-written, and well-paced, with never a dull moment.

I also enjoyed all of the supporting characters, and found myself especially intrigued by the twins, Zoe and Chloe. What is up with those girls and their creepy-cool “connection”? I wanna know! Here’s hoping they’ll get their own story one day! *crosses fingers*

Oh, and the action scenes? Awesome! I loved when all hell was breaking loose, especially the scene in the club when the “big reveal” happened. I felt like I was right there with the characters, surrounded by all that chaos and mayhem. I was holding my breath, eyes flying over the pages, and then… BAM! Surprise! (Oops!) I couldn’t stop grinning like an idiot. The “big reveal” is my absolute favourite thing when one of the MCs is hiding something from the other, and I felt like the author totally nailed it here. :D

This is a new-to-me author, and jumping into this book, without having read any of the previous ones in the series, left me feeling very confused in the beginning. I didn’t understand how on earth Zane had become a werewolf… But thankfully, all was explained and I was thrilled to find out that it wasn’t the usual “born” or “turned” (by another Were) that I see in so many other shifter stories. Think “Vampire Diaries” (one of my favourite shows!) with a bit of a twist. :P

I thoroughly enjoyed this book (and loved the author’s writing style), so I’ll definitely be checking out more of her work in the future.

SWAT werewolf Zane Kendrick will do whatever it takes to take down the man who attacked his pack. His search leads him to Los Angeles where he meets Alyssa. There is an immediate chemistry between them that tells Zane that Alyssa is The One.

FBI agent Alyssa Carson has investigated some weird stuff lately including finding missing people drained of their blood. When following a clue leads her to Zane, she agrees to work with him and his team. She feels the attraction between them but feels she needs to concentrate on solving this case.

Action, drama and suspense; Wolf Instinct has it all! Alyssa and Zane’s story is a welcome addition to this fast-paced and thoroughly entertaining series! Zane is everything I hoped he would be, with his smooth and sexy British accent, and all the typical Alpha male protectiveness will rise to the fore. As a couple they have intense and passionate chemistry, and the usual support cast are along for the ride. The plot was interesting and picked up where Wolf Rising had left off, keeping readers up to speed with the timeline of events. A great book that ensured my full attention and kept me totally engrossed throughout.

Alyssa is a strong heroine who doesn't need a man to come to her rescue. The attraction between her and Zane was off the charts! Zane does NOT want "the one" but realizes shortly after meeting Alyssa that she is his! Alyssa feels a pull toward Zane but is not ready to be his! Paige does a fantastic job of writing strong women and men and making them work together. There was good mystery and suspense. A wonderful addition to the ninth book in this series. Can't wait for the next book!
