Wolf Instinct is the ninth book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series. This book is a romantic suspense novel with fantastic characters and a great storyline which adds to the SWAT Team World that Tyler has created.

Zane Kendrick is a werewolf SWAT officer who is in Los Angeles looking to take down the man who attacked his pack. While following a lead at a nightclub, he meets the One, his destined mate, when she comes to his aid. FBI Agent Alyssa Carson is investigating several missing person cases when she meets Zane and agrees to work with him and his team. The attraction between them is instant and explosive, but personal and work-related secrets and half truths keep Zane and Alyssa from fully trusting each other. Will they learn to open up and accept their differences in time the solve both their cases and save their lives? Read it and find out!

This is another great addition to Tyler’s SWAT series. The heroes in this series are strong, hunky and intense characters who have a deep moral compass and work to help those in need. The heroines in this series are kick-ass, strong women who are smart and can hold their own against alpha males. The stories are filled with danger, intrigue, intense chemistry and heart-melting romance. All the books in this series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Wolf Rebel, to come out!

This far down the series, you’d be hard-pressed to wonder what Paige Tyler has up her sleeve when it comes to expanding (slowly but surely) the SWAT universe. The holding pattern is admittedly still there: each books typically features a SWAT werewolf’s transformation, then his subsequent journey to finding his ‘One’ soulmate, as Tyler continues the pairing of Zane and an FBI agent who seems to have no problem swallowing that there is something supernatural around Zane and his team members.

Honestly, I’m a little indifferent to Zane/Alyssa’s lightning-fast relationship which felt a little lacklustre—having established the theory of ‘The One’ early on in the series by default sort of permits the author to justify some degree of instalove/lust—because the way the pairing is written doesn’t feel all too unique from the other pairs that came in Tyler’s previous books.

I was however, engrossed instead by the direction ‘Wolf Instinct’ took. What I didn’t expect was Tyler’s huge step into the paranormal with more creatures of the night joining the fray as the werewolf SWAT team gets more deeply embroiled in the whole hunter/werewolf fiasco, with some new and intriguing plot strands that do show some potential for future books. The ending left me nonplussed nonetheless, with a hurried and rather abrupt HFN that felt more inconclusive beyond the immediate acknowledgement that Alyssa was easily welcomed by the growing werewolf family in Dallas.

Still, as a standalone, ‘Wolf Instinct’ does work and the gift of Tyler’s writing is that she makes it easy reading for those who feel intimidated jumping straight into the ninth book of a series. There’s sufficient action and enough of a game-changer reveal, so to speak, towards the three-quarter mark that left me intrigued and curious enough about what Tyler might write about next.

I love those SWAT wolves and now it is Zane;s turn to find his One! Wish I could listen to this book on audio as Zane's British accent is sure to be very, very sexy.

As the Dallas SWAT work to find Randy Curtis and more info on the Hunters, four of them end up in L.A. and while they are there, Zane meets Alyssa when they both work to stop two women from being abducted. Both Zane and Alyssa have secrets in their lives and it is hard for either of them to let the other get close.

As they work together to figure out what Stefan Curtis is doing with the kidnapped women, they stumble onto an even darker secret and more danger. We finally learn who is behind the hunters and just who is in charge. More importantly their former chief of policy, Randy Curtis, finally gets taken care of.

While at the end, it seems like there may be a slowing or even stop to the wolves finding their One, we get a hint that might not be true and that Rachel might be next to find her One. Some hints about this as she keeps having nightmares and feels like she is seeing someone. Definitely, looking forward to that book!!

Thank you Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for the advanced copy of Wolf Instinct for a review. The story picks up where Wolf rising left off. Zane heads to LA following a lead on the man who tried to kill his entire pack. Once there, he crosses path with Alyssa a kick ass FBI agent who feel like The One! Along the way, Zane discovers werewolves are not the only supernatural beings around, and maybe he isn't the monster he thinks he is. I love this series! This was the perfect holiday read; lots of action, sizzle and romance! Can't wait for the next installment!

Zane is a wolf shifter and on the Dallas S.W.A.T team. He and two pack mates go to L.A. looking for the man that tried to kill his pack. Alyssa is on a special team in the FBI, she hunts down supernatural creatures. They both are watching the same man and end up fighting his bodyguards. Zane knows Alyssa is The One for him but will she consider him a monster? When Alyssa gets kidnapped, Zane will do anything to get her back.
I know this is short but I didn’t want to give too much away. I loved this story. Zane and Alyssa are perfect for each other. Action. Steamy. Wolves and other creatures. I can always count of Ms. Tyler’s books to take me out of reality. Two people with rough pasts find love.

Wolf Instinct by Paige Tyler is the 9th book in her wonderful SWAT series. I am a big fan of this series, as Tyler always gives us exciting stories that are pulse pounding action, with a great couple, and the hot men (werewolves) that make up the Alpha Swat team. Wolf Instinct was another wonderful romance suspense that Tyler does so well.

Zane Kendrick, our hero, is a member of the Dallas Swat team, and on assignment with two other members to Los Angeles looking for someone attacking werewolves. Zane does not believe he will ever find the ‘One’ that some of his mates have found, but when he meets an FBI agent who helps him stave off an attack, his instinct senses something different about her.

Alyssa Carson, our heroine, has been working as a hunter to discover the reason why many deaths on different cases, were drained of their blood, seeming to be the work of animals (or monster). She was a great kick-ass heroine, who not only was smart, tough, savvy, but also preferring to work as a loner. But when Alyssa meets Zane, she realizes that they seem to be working on similar cases, and decides to work with him.

Zane quickly knows that Alyssa is the ‘One’, but he also feels that because of her FBI job and hunting, she may not be willing to become his mate. However, the chemistry between them heats up fast and furious, as they not only made a great team, but a hot one. How will Alyssa react when she finds out that Zane is a werewolf?
What follows is an exciting action-packed adventure that will tie in both cases, which Zane and Alyssa are investigating. The story line escalates when they discover that vampires are behind a major organization and the ensuing deaths. Alyssa finds it difficult to believe that vampires exist, but when lives are at stake, and Zane calls in help from the Dallas Swat members, she will call in the FBI for help against a powerful enemy. As we raced to the exciting suspenseful climax, we held our breaths as to who will survive.

What I love about this series is not only the suspense and action-packed story; but Paige Tyler always gives us a wonderful sexy couple. Zane and Alyssa had sizzling chemistry, and were great together

The last 1/3 of the book was very exciting; I was unable to put the book down. I loved Zane and Alyssa; and I also like Zane’s two partners, whom I hope we get to learn more about them in future stories.
Paige Tyler does it again with another intense, intriguing, fun and sexy story, and as always Tyler manages to keep the story in the forefront, and still give us a beautiful sexy romance. Wolf Instinct is another fabulous addition to this series. If you have not started this series, I suggest you do so, as it is a fun, exciting and sexy read and Paige Tyler is an author you need to be reading.

I love this werewolf series! The SWAT team is so awesome. This book focuses on Zane and a new character Alyssa. If you've not read the previous books in the series, you should so you understand everything. If you haven't, you can still enjoy the book.

The way Zane and Alyssa met was great. She is a kick butt FBI agent who looks for things that go bump in the night. He just happens to be one of those things. I thought the author did a great job with the monster angle. Plenty of action and romance.

It was a 4/5 for me.

If you have never read this author before, know that she writes character driven; action packed reads that will leave the reader both satisfied yet looking for another “fix.” This story is the perfect example of her writing genius. She balances action and heat with a wonderful story line and great character development. I could not me more content with this book.

Wolf Instinct is the story of a wolf shifter (Zane) and a monster hunter (Alyssa); you really can’t have more opposite characters then these two, but when Zane’s wolf decides that Alyssa is their mate, nothing will stop them from claiming her. Alyssa on the other hand works in a job that is against everything that Zane is. The Ultimate question becoming, is Alyssa just doing a job or does that job reflects her personal beliefs?

Within this story the passion and romantic development is perfect. I loved the push and pull between Zane and Alyssa. They are both trying to fight nature, feelings, professional expectations, and life in general to do what is best for them. I also love this author’s take on the traditional shifter story. It’s both familiar, yet unique and this story felt new and fresh, not at all like the recycled story line so many shifter books seem to have. I loved that it read like a whole new world to me.

This story is a fun, flirty and sweet read and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a lighter and softer shifter story (without all the pain and darkness). It’s extremely character driven so the reader will never be bored. The humor and dialogue that these characters have just makes the book so much more enjoyable. I laughed more than a few times; the action kept me on the edge of my seat and I fell for these characters with each page turned. I received an ARC via NetGallery and I am leaving an honest review.

Zane is part of the S.W.A.T. Special Wolf Alpha Team and he's working with his fellow werewolves to find out who the hunters were who tried to kill his pack. His search takes him to Los Angeles where he meets Alyssa, a special agent who investigates supernatural crimes. They end up working together and Zane is sure she is the One for him but with the way she feels about "monsters" will she be able to care for a werewolf even if he is a good guy? This novel is the latest in a great paranormal series.
