Thank you Netgalley for the ebook. And exchange for an honest review.
The world building was good for the most part. I didn't click with any of the characters and I found the romance awkward like tried to hard to make it happen.
But let me say just because I didn't like certain things doesn't mean I didn't find the rest if the book interesting.

Book in Search of an Identity

This is a peculiar book made up of odd bits of different types of speculative fiction that don't come together as a whole. The world-building lacked as I couldn't quite pin down what it was supposed to be. Steampunk? Medieval-ish fantasy? A modern parallel universe? I don't think I ever figured that out! I never like to see modern words and phrases in speculative fiction unless it is clearly modern—which this is not—so I felt constantly jarred out of the book’s world. The group of assassins did not come across like true hard-edged killers should; these aren’t just regular men (or boys, given how they sometimes acted) with a normal job. That made for strange moments as well. The heroine at first seemed like she would be a gritty character, exiled and with a contract out on her, but she soon morphed into a YA type of heroine. Ugh. If you enjoy fantasy, I suggest finding a better-written series with a consistent, understandable world.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

I recieved this arc through NetGalley for an honest review of my thoughts and mine alone. This novel was very enjoyable, this character growth was impeccable. I really felt myself being amiable towards the characters and could feel myself empathizing with all the emotions they were going through. This novel was very enjoyable.

Interesting concept and characters. Noc was especially intriguing and I discovered more to his story and why he keeps himself so locked away. The beasts were fantastic and I loved Leena's character when she worked to tame them or anytime they came into the story, really.
Steady plot and tension that built to a knife edge and leaves you wanting more.
I received a copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

AUTHOR FEATURED ON FRESH FICTION
First off, it’s truly painful to only pick five novels. How on earth am I supposed to do that? There are so many lovelies out there, and I just want to snuggle them all. From stories that sparked inspiration for my own work, Kingdom of Exiles, to just plain amazing concepts… Sheesh. This is so hard! But, as I must follow the rules, I’ll only bend them slightly by admitting the following: I feel like Harry Potter is a given. It completely and totally shaped my childhood, but since that’s on an echelon all its own, I’ll go ahead and pick my top five fantasy novels to date (in no particular order) that get shelved next to JK Rowling for me.

Okay, ripping the band-aid off in 3…2…1…

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the mash up of assassins and a beast charmer. Fantasy romance is a new genre for me, and I am looking forward to reading more. I liked the characters and how they all interacted and sized each other up. The sexual tension and steamy moments between Leena and Nox were great. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and seeing what happens.

Kingdom of Exiles is a pretty standard entry in the world of fantasy, with a special chosen MC and her dark and broody bad-boy love interest. Leena's feisty, Noc's broody, they're uncovering the complex conspiracy behind Leena's hit. Unfortunately, the romance didn't capture the sizzle of a proper enemies-to-lovers romance, and ended up feeling a bit insta-lovey. Overall nothing about this book really stuck out to me. It's competent for what it is, but nothing special.

Fantasy romance is somewhat new to me so I was intrigued by Kingdom of Exiles. The world Maxym Martineau created is lovely and I was quickly pulled into the story.

Though I love fantasy romance, I couldn't get into this one. I found myself skimming most of the book and couldn't connect with the characters. I won't be continuing this series especially now that it's transitioned to YA only.

It's been a long time since I've loved a new paranormal romance. I think as I've moved to more thrillers and mystery books, i thought it would be hard to revert back to paranormal romance but after this story i m totally back. Kingdom of Exiles is no ordinary romance story. It presents a new fantasy world filled with lovely monsters, magic and crazy romance.

Leena Edenfrell is a charmer. She charms magical beasts that can be called upon when needed. Exiled from her homeland from her people, Leena survives by selling her magical beasts, an act considered a "crime" in her society, risking her life every day to do it.

And to add to that like it wasn't enought now someone has put a bounty on her head. In her desperation she makes a bolt move and bargains with the people who are after her. She bargains with Noc, the man in charge who has taken on the responsibility to fulfill the execution order.
Leena bargains with Noc, she convince him that can provide him and his men magical beasts that only a Charmer can call. Each beast has a special talent from simple ones to extraordinery. So the deal is on Leena, Noc, and three of his men set out on a quest to capture the magical beasts. However, they are rather surprised when Leena proves to be much more of a challenge than expected.

Leena has a secret, a secret that can prove her innocense. She has to find and capture a special beast. While they journey adventures find them, bonds are being created and a love rises with dangerous results.

Will Noc and Leena have the chance to do what they have in heart or their duty will overcome all?

This was a great start for a fantasy series. So smart the use of the beasts, they were one of my favorite parts of the story. The world building was so beautifully created and evolved throught out the story. The writing was fresh and simple in a good way. I truly liked the story and now i am looking forward to reading more books by Maxym Martineau.

Although it took me a bit to get into the Kingdom of Exiles I'm glad I kept on reading. The story is intriguing, the characters are interesting and the ending left me wanting to read the next book in The Beast Charmer series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I started reading this one but didn't hold my interest. I though the concept was good but I wish I could have connected with the characters more.

Kingdom of Exiles brings an amazing new concept into the world of fantasy that I found exciting and interesting. I found that the book had a YA feel to it at times which wasn't expected, but it held itself well. I look forward to the next two novels in the series.

I really enjoyed this one. Very exciting. I wish the romance was more fleshed out though. Other than that, I enjoyed the characters and the action.

This was a pretty good read! I sometimes have a hard time getting into fantasy and dealing with world building, but this title did it well. There were stretches where it got a bit long--it's almost 500 pages!--but I mostly enjoyed it and got through it quickly.

I ended up enjoying this book but the first half of this book was a little slow going for me. It was loaded with action, adventure, and a romance.

I'm equally disappointed I didn't read this when I downloaded it, and happy because I would have DIED waiting over a year for the sequel.

I loved this book! I love the world, the storyline, the characters, the beasts, the romance. I mean, EVERY.THING.

If you are looking for a fun, entertaining, romantic and epic Fantasy, get this book y'all!
