Carter was tense after the dream about Jude.Carter and Jude had met in college and been together but when they broke up it wasn’t in a good mutual way. He had left Jade devastated. His body was amass of coiled muscle. He barely managed not to look over his shoulder , searching for her sweet face that had begged for a promise he couldn’t keep. Carter was the head of his own security company that he’d built from scratch, personally taking care of many of the situations his high- end clients demanded with discretion. He was always careful to separate business and pleasure. Carter stood over the man-Trey- who dared to try to blackmail his sister- Alice. Trey swore Alice was lying, it wasn’t him. Carter was known as the most placid Diallo brother, also the most dangerous. He had a lot of control. Carter had already deleted the dirty pictures of Alice and wiped the copies free from the cloud. And along with every piece of information the idiot found. He was leaving -Trey- his sister ex- when his phone rang and he saw it was his oldest brother and the CEO of the Diablo Corporation - Kingsley. Kingsley asked when could he be back in Miami as there was a situation . Their brother Jaxon - a local Miami celebrity and member of the corporation's board of directors had gotten into trouble again. But with the pending IPO, the public scrutiny from increasing stupid antics could ruin the company’s stock as soon as it was offered. Carter was the company’s “fixer”. After reading about his brother’s latest mess he sent Kingsley a message saying he wasn’t sure that was something he could handle but he would have some ideas by the time he got there. Carter used his natural skill set and his law degree to good use to keep the family successfully thriving. Carter and Jude met again ten years later over this latest thing with his brother-Jaxon. Carter had never forgot Jade. Jade had become a P R agent and started her own company. When carter sent Kingsley the name of the firm to handle jaxon’s situation it was Jade’s company. Jade doesn’t want to see Carter again but couldn’t resist the contract she was offered so Jade is hired.
I liked this book. It’s a second chance romance and a good one. I loved jade and carter together and how they interacted. I do think Carter should have contacted Jude a long time ago and apologized to her. I really liked that Carter took care of his family. I also liked th author showed Carter had some insecurities himself. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend this.

home, Cindy heard some laughter. It was an Englisher, he walked over. After her brother Jamie got there he said he was drew Collins. Than he walked back with them to their dairy farm and he helped Jamie fix the gate. Drew had been raised by his aunt since his parents had died when he was ten. His aunt had just passed away not long ago and he got the part time job at the Lapps farm but also was going to college.Cindy had an enormous hole in her heart when he own ,other had passed. Cindy blamed herself for her mother dying. She couldn't seem to move on and no one seemed to understand her. Everyone else and moved on with their lived her father had even remarried. Cindy couldn’t find peace and didn’t have the same relationship with God. Cindy and drew have an instant connection with what they had been through and the lo9sss the had suffered. Cindy had not yet chosen to be baptised into the Amish faith even though her family keep trying to push her. Drew and Cindy start spending time together but often in secret as Drew is an Englisher and that is not acceptable for an Amish woman to become close to an englisher or anyone outside their faith. Cindy and Drew’s feeling grow until they fall in love. Cindy’s father tells drew if they marry cindy will be shunned by her family and community. Cindy has to decide if her love for Drew is more important to her than her religion, family, and community. So her family chooses to shun her.
I liked this book alot. It upset me her family chose to shun Cindy even knowing from other readings of Amish books this happens . But than they never seen that she was unhappy and struggling since her mother's death. I understood her issues. This grabbed my attention right away and held it until the end of this book. I loved the ending. I chuckled at times while reading this book at others I choked up. I loved the twist in the story. I think there should have been more conflict and indecision between Drew and Cindy about the decision for Cindy to leave everything behind and marry Drew. It should have caused more as this is what Cindy knew all her life- her family, her community, her religion, her way of life. I suggest you read this series in order for a smoother and more knowledgeable read. I liked the plot and pace of this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

I appreciate the free copy but this story felt rushed and unbelievable. What year is this happening in?! People can't write a simple "dealing with a family emergency" on a piece of paper or text it to their supposed "best friend"? Who owns a security company but makes no attempt to track down someone they feel they have wronged badly and send a note of apology? It seems like the author had an idea and a destination but no plan to develop this foundation into an interesting story.

Her Perfect Pleasure is the third volume in the Miami Strong series (personally I think it should be titled The Diallo family lol) by Lindsey Evans. The previous volumes are Bare Pleasures and The Pleasure of his company. The novel is published in the Kimani line, dedicated to romances where heroes are black or mixed.

I didn’t know the author at all before this book and what attracted me was that 1- it was in direct download on Netgalley (it helps lol) and 2- I love reunion stories and I liked the synopsis a lot. I don’t regret having read it at all because I had a very good reading time and it made me want to read other romances by the author especially the previous volumes.

Concerning Her Perfect Pleasure, it’s really a nice reunion story. The heroes met in college. After some misunderstandings I let the readers discover, Carter and Jade Tremaine broke up in sorrow. Then they meet again ten years later.
Jade has become a PR agent and Carter has created a security firm while watching for the family corporation. When our heroes meet again, the corporation is in a tricky situation because of one junior family member and Jade is hired to arrange it. When Carter suggests the firm created by the young woman he doesn’t know who’s behind it but the heroine is totally conscious she’ll probably meet our hero. Even if she doesn’t want to see him again, it’s a golden contract she’s been offered so she accepts.

As soon as the novel begins we understand he never forgot the heroine. So it’s not a surprise that he chooses to do everything to win her back. And we also suspect she’ll be determined not to let him. However their attraction stays strong and she yields really fast while keeping some hesitation.

I really liked the story even though I found it to be a bit short but it’s the line’s format. Simply I’d have liked sometimes more details on some points like the events chronology that I found too fast. It’s why I don’t give it the maximum rating.

The secondary characters are very present and we enjoy meeting (or seeing again for those who read the previous volumes) the big Diallo family (a total of 13 children lol). The author’s style is flowing, there is few love scenes not very described. The story is written in the third person with both heroes points of view and can be read as a standalone without any trouble.

To conclude I recommend Her Perfect Pleasure for those who have no problem with Harlequin short format. You’ll have a good time with the characters.

It was just okay, I didn't hate it. But I didn't love it. either. I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Realistic characters, great family vibe, good wrtting although I would have liked a bit more passion between the main characters than I got. I felt the passion was based more on past longing than on who they were as people now.

Bless NetGalley for making this story available. I was attracted by the hot cover, enough to made me download it. I honestly did not expect much from it because it is from Harlequin and Harlequin and I don't always see eye-to-eye. But colour me suprised because I ended up enjoying this more than I thought I would.

The main male lead Carter is a charismatic SOB. In fact, I find the entire Diallo clan interesting (except for cocky Jaxon). Each siblings have a good dynamic and I do enjoy their good nature banters.

Jade is an interesting character. I like that she is strong and independent without coming across as arrogant - something that I cannot say very often because occasionally, i would find myself reading about supposedly "strong female character" but to me come across as "too stupid too live". I don't get that vibe from Jade which is a relief.

I like the chemistry that the two leads have. I do however wish there were more "Jade and Carter" scene instead of "Jade thingking about Carter" or "Carter pining over Jade" scenes.

I liked the way Carter took care of his family and that even if he was handsome he was insecure, I like seeing heroes that allow themselves to be vulnerable.
This is a second chance romance and the reason why their relationship didn't work out in the past was believable although it was a little over the top and dramatic. BUT this is a harlequin so it made sense.

I think the book failed to deliver in the sexual tension part, there wasn't much sensuality in the sex scenes, they just felt flat to me.

Overall as a harlequin it delivers 👌 it's a short second chance romance book.
