I am a big fan of both the McKinney and the Walker clans and Zach's story fell right in line with the awesomeness of this series. First off, I enjoy Claudia Connor's writing immensely. She has a way with her writing that draws me into the emotions of the storyline.

Zach is the hot (hehe) firefighter and Nora is the ER nurse about to set him on fire. Nora is a very sweet and relatable character, struggling with living on her own her young son. When she has never been able to rely on anyone other than herself, Nora is taken aback at Zach's offer to help and willingness to follow through. But Zach is persistent and present.

The slow dance of their romance is sweet and a great read. I loved catching up with the McKinney's and the inclusion of the Walkers into their brood.

Thanks NetGalley and Claudia Connor for the great read.

Zach Walker has been happy with his carefree life but recently felt something wasn't right. With his older brother happily married, he was beginning to think something was missing, yet despite having an endless stream of female admirers he never wanted to make a connection permanent, until he literally bumps into a nurse at the hospital. He's instantly smitten, but what now?

Nora Sellers doesn't have time for a relationship. With an exhausting job as an ER nurse and a ten-month-old son to care for, there aren't enough hours in the day to have a relationship too. Besides, she needs to fix up her house. When she crashes in firefighter, Zach Walker, she's instantly attracted but how can she find time for someone like him around her hectic life?

A definite feel-good vibe is present within this novel as the narrative flows beautifully. The protagonists are perfect for each other, with a mutual understanding of the commitment required for their chosen careers. Still, nothing worthwhile in life is easy and for Zach, who has always kept everything in his life temporary and Nora, who from an early age learned the only person to rely on was yourself; changing mindset to form a loving, supportive relationship isn't something easily achieved. Life proves them both wrong and results in a satisfying happy ever after.

Anyone who has read any of Ms Connor's books will appreciate the details she adds to her current stories to include updates and titbits of gossip about characters which have already featured in books of their own. With the inclusion of the McKinney and now the Walker clan there's always plenty of uplifting and engaging details. However, this, like the other novels are standalone so this author's novels are enjoyable for any reader who loves a heart-warming romance.

If you like hot firemen, single mom nurses and great chemistry then Zach Walker and Nora Sellers story is a must read. Neither want a relationship because of things in their past. They can't seem to fight the attraction between them though. A very enjoyable story by Claudia Connor. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to the next one in the series.

I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw that this book was coming. There is nothing better than a Claudia Connor contemporary romance. The family she has created in this series is big, loud, fun, and once they fall they love hard and deep. The books in this series never fail to leave me feeling warm and fuzzy with a great big smile. This book is no exception. This one like the others is fun and romantic with low/no angst and a passionate slow build love story right at the core. Zach and Nora worked wonderfully together. He wants to help her and she's smart enough to know she needs the help. Zach never saw himself as a family man but spending time with Nora and her baby have him looking at life a little differently. I enjoyed how their relationship began, grew and built up with a nice easy pace making it feel real and natural. Put this one on the must read list. I highly recommend it.

Nora and Zach were great!
She’s a sweet single mommy to a cute little baby boy named Will. He’s a hot firefighter and ex-playboy. They meet when he goes to the hospital with victims from a car wreck where she is a nurse in the ER. One thing leads to another and the drunk driver hits her and she falls to the ground. Of course he feels guilty about it! BUT you shouldn’t date people you rescue or people you work with according to him.

I really enjoyed this story and look forward to the next one in this series.

A great story about a player and single mom finding love when they least expect it. An instant connection and great chemistry makes for an entertaining read. Definitely a great addition to this series.

Waiting for You is a winner! The second McKinney/ Walker Novel by Claudia Connor gives us unforgettable characters in a wonderful story. This small town romance has the emotional intensity that I have come to expect from this author. Richly detailed and completely absorbing read. It is the kind of story that makes me wish that I didn’t have anything else to do but read.

The story follows a realistic story-line with authentic people. The kind you would want as neighbors, along with the nosy but not quite meddling Walker and McKinney siblings. I just loved seeing them all, male and female get into Zach’s personal business. It also has a slow burn that builds up the attraction and romance to a nine-alarm level between nurse, Nora Sellers and firefighter, Zach Walker. Good thing he is a firefighter. Then there is little Will. If Zach is hard to resist, Will is impossible to do so. Another strength of these stories is the children, cute, normal and far from being too perfect.

Loved Nora and Zach’s story! Can’t wait for the next brother’s story but I know it will be worth the wait.

Nora is new in town. As a single mother and ER nurse, she is used to being independent and taking care of things on her own. Zach takes his job as a firefighter seriously, and harbors guilt over his feeling that he didn’t do enough to help his sister years ago. When Nora has an accident at work, Zach takes the blame on and insists on helping her out, especially after he sees just how much she has on her plate by herself.

These two were so sweet together. The interest is there early, but neither is looking for a relationship. Zach has never done commitment and Nora has learned not to rely on anyone but herself. But Zach is determined to do a few things to help her out, and his family and friends are just meddling enough to make sure they find themselves near the other often.

They do not have an easy road from friends to lovers, but it wasn’t overly angsty either. They both had things they needed to work through on their own to build a relationship together. The bumps they find along the way were just enough to keep the story moving without being over the top.

I love returning to the McKinney/Walker world again. It is such a warm group of characters that they feel like my own family. I loved the way they gathered Nora into their fold without ever questioning that she would want to hang around the boisterous bunch. Because a dependable family is exactly what Nora needed, what she had never had before.

Real, authentic, Family, no angst and totally wonderful. There are many variations to the Romance Novel and most of them I can do without. Claudia Connor has a lock on the Family Romance in all its' shapes and forms. She is simply the best at portraying a large, caring family with all its warts and all its' beauty. I've read all her books and loved them all.

Zach Walker is, or was, quite the ladies man. Love em' and leave em' happy and satisfied. This bachelor fireman has no place in his life for long-term commitment. He has a big extended family and sees no need for a family of his own. Except, he gets a yean at times and the good book or solitary walk just doesn't seem as fulfilling as it once did, neither does the endless parade of women. He's at a point in his life where he wants . . . more.

Nora Sellers has a past that has taught her to depend on no one, except herself. She trusted a man once and has now ended up as a single mother to her 10 month son Will. She is not about to make that mistake again. She has always wanted roots and community and has found that in the small community outside Norfolk, VA. Her job as a nurse is fulfilling and the fixer-upper house she has bought, while needing a total overhaul, is hers and she plans to stay put and raise Will there. No man required.

The love story of Zach and Nora is so sweet and it is wonderful to watch two people, with tall barriers around their hearts, grow and reach out to each other and find that rare gift of true love.

It is hard for me to describe with words the warm fuzzy feeling I always get with a Claudia Conner book. I get such a strong feeling and visual image. For me it's like slipping into a really warm bubble bath on a cold winter's evening, with candle light, no kids bothering you, a really good book and all the time you want to soak and relax.
Zach and Nora are both a little skittish about getting involved in a relationship, but they slip into it seamlessly, without really noticing. While there is a bit of conflict, the only true angst for me is trying to keep all the McKinneys and Walkers straight in my head. I love how Conner's books are so family oriented, especially the heroes being great examples of what a partner should look like. A real pleasure to read.

Waiting for You by Claudia Connor
Hot fireman? Single mom? Sign me up! I didn't realize how much I missed Claudia Connor's writing and the McKinney/Walker families until I lost myself in Zach and Nora’s story. Connor's writing is so compelling you feel a part of the story as opposed to an observer.
Zach has a little bit of martyr syndrome. He thinks his tragic childhood means he isn't the right guy to give a girl their happily ever after. Slowly, but surely, he finds more ways to spend time with Nora and Will, and not falling in love becomes impossible. There is something so sexy about a man loving a child that's not biologically his.
Nora was wonderful. She just wanted to raise her son in a forever home and give him the roots and stability she lacked growing up. I loved her fierce independence. She wasn't about drama or games. Nora was sweet and had so much love to give to those around her.
The build-up of Zach and Nora's relationship from fireman and ER nurse, to acquaintances, to friends, and finally to lovers was so well executed. If you crave a slow, sweet burn, this is the story for you.

I am so happy that we've gotten another book in Connor's McKinney/Walker series. I totally love these books. It seems like I've been waiting forever for it but the great thing is that it turned out to be worth the wait. If you're a fan you'll get my joke. If you don't get it start reading! I just love how this book started out with one shift at the fire department pranking the other. I wish the author added more of this to her book. There is a good amount of interaction between Zach and his coworkers, I just thought them giving each other a hard time was cute.

Poor Nora, she is such a hard worker to have this accident happen to her right as she started her new job could have been a big misstep in her life instead it brought her Zach and his crazy family. Something she really needed in her and her sons life.

I just swooned with the was Zach acted towards Nora's son. He was so cute with him. I love a man who loves a kid.

I'm glad their relationship isn't all smooth sailing. No ones is. They needed the rocking road parts to really prove to each other that they'd be there when they needed them. Even with a few backslides.

I totally enjoyed this story and was happy to visit with past characters from both the series. It's great to visit and see how their lives are going. I will say to truly enjoy this book (this might only be for me) I'd read the series in order. All the books are wonderful so it won't be a hardship for you.

I love this series. Zach and Nora are perfect for each other. Zach is a firefighter and Nora an ER nurse. They meet and feel an immediate spark but neither is looking for a relationship. Nora has a baby, Will, and he's her priority. While Zach has the reputation as a player, he's ready to change his ways with Nora.

This wasn't just a wonderful romance. It also gives the reader a chance to catch up with the McKinneys and Walkers. Claudia Connor has created a wonderfully close knit family who look out for one another and are always there to back each other up when help is needed. Her stories are touching and often bring a year to my eye.

Sweet book about learning to love and depend on someone. Good book, but tended to drag some and all the drama was in the last 80 pages or so. For once it wasn’t the man being dumb it was the woman. Zach is a sweet guy and was easy to love. Nora was such a strong willed person, but many times to her detriment. It was slow paced, but to be real I guess it had to be. Interested in the next for sure.

Zach is a known ladies man, fearing commitment and kids, until work brought him to the ER and Nora. Single mom and hard worker Nora is not interested in a player when she has to consider her son. Will is a scene stealer for sure, Zach turns into a big kid around him and his parental instincts shine. Hard not to fall for the guy when he connects easily with her baby. Always fun when the McKinney and Walker families get together, it's like controlled chaos. It's enjoyable to read a love story with mature adults and realistic situations, a bonus that the guy is a firefighter. Both series are wonderful reads but not required before reading this one, there are plenty of cameos of other characters but none of their story. It was an honor to receive an early copy, my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Waiting for You is a beautifully-told story of finding that missing piece of your soul when you least expect it. Claudia Connor continues the McKinney/Walker Brothers series with Zach Walker and the nurse he cannot resist in Nora. These two are way beyond games as their lives intersect at the hospital where Nora first sets her eyes on the sexy firefighter. I loved their sweet dance around the other as they each think their lives are set and there is no need to explore more in terms of a relationship with each other or anyone else for that matter.

I do believe, however, that Zach moves fate along and soon becomes a fixture at Nora's house, helping the single mom rehab her DIYer house. He was wonderful to Nora and her adorable son, Will, and I couldn't help but hope these two would figure out that perhaps they might just fit pretty darn well together, if Nora could let him into her heart.

The story proceeds an even pace with very little angst but I appreciated that both main characters knew themselves well and didn't keep us waiting for when they would finally succumb to their mutual desires.

Whether it's a McKinney or a Walker, they know how to love fiercely and I'm always ready for more when it comes to this crew. We get more than a glimpse of this very boisterous family as they welcome Nora without skipping a beat, which is always a treat.

There are many tender scenes paired with a touching kind of passion that only Connor can deliver so flawlessly.

Wildly enjoyable, Waiting for You is a great addition to this series and I can't wait for more of the Walker clan with Luke's story coming up next.

4 solid stars!

Another yummy Walker brother bites the dust. He falls for lovely Norah and her adorable son, Will. Of course, there's personal angst and some hot sex (took a while to get there). Great story with lots of interaction and "help" from the McKinnery/Walker clan. Can't wait to see what happens with Luke, and where is Dallas?

I’ve been hooked by this series since sexy Matt McKinney. The first book by Claudia that I had read and it she instantly became one of too favorites authors to read. She will make u laugh and cry and feel as if u are a part of the book. When I was given the chance to read a advanced copy of waiting for you I was so excited. I devoured it. I love the characters Zach and Nora. Also being able to visit with the whole clan was great. I can’t wait for the next book. If you haven’t picked up anything by Claudia I highly recommend her.

FINALLY - The First FIVE STAR REVIEW for 2019 from Happily Ever Chapter!

I can’t believe it’s been two years since Nick’s book came out and I was shocked, surprised, and THRILLED to see a new McKinney/Walker coming out! The cover has the same sepia wash tone that the first book did and fits well into her series. Visually, the cover does not pop, but if you’ve read any of this author’s books, you’ll be watching for her name and won’t care about the covers anyway!

POV ~> Third person

Claudia Connor is an amazing storyteller. Her characters are so down-to-Earth with realistic qualities, good and bad, that make them relatable and reader is easily able to form attachments to them.
Zach Walker: Second-oldest Walker boy, Lieutenant firefighter, commitment-phobic, former player but would now rather enjoy a quiet night at home. Confident at work, but past guilts and self-doubt clouds his worth as partner, brother, and/or father.
Nora Sellers: ER nurse, single mom to infant son, Will. Abandonment and trust issues after mom died and dad basically checked himself out. Independent. New home owner, though it’s little more than a money pit fixer-upper. She’s determined to settle in and put roots down, for her son’s sake.
These two meet while both on shift. Zach bringing in a probable DUI, a combative turn causes Nora to become injured when the rookie makes a mistake, leaving Zach feeling incredibly guilty… again. His guilt, plus an attraction to the fiercely independent woman, has him returning to the ER later to “check on her” and “apologize”. From there, he can’t seem to stay away from her, he’s drawn to her and her son. Finding excuses to help her out with minor repairs and/or maintenance, they slowly develop a friendship. The relationship is a very slow burn type thing that develops on its own and against their supposed will.
Add the McKinney and Walker clan to the firehouse comrades and nurse’s station and you’ve mostly got the cast lineup for this story. Almost all of the cast are lovable. Catching up with the families was fun. I honestly don’t think there was anything about this story that I did not like. Predictability was low and the conclusion was solid. The tease at the end of the book about book 3 has me dying for its release now, too!
Another fantastic book by this must-read author!

I truly enjoyed reading Waiting for You. The single parent storyline isn't anything new but I think the author does a good job with this romance. Zach and Nora were a perfect match. I think both of them being in service professions helped them forge a friendship that helped move them into the next level.
