Firstly, I have to say that I absolutely loved The Orchid Girls by Lesley Sanderson so was very much looking forward to reading this latest book and I definitely wasn’t disappointed.

Ella and her husband Chris live, very happily, in the house at 46 Heath Street. However, one morning Ella’s world comes crashing down around her when she receives and anonymous note telling her that Chris is having an affair. After Ella confronts Chris he admits everything and says that he is leaving her and he wants to sell the house. Ella is devastated and turns to her friend Alice for support who ends up moving in. But not everything is as it seems and 46 Heath Street holds lots of secrets. Will Ella discover the truth ?

This is a great book and I love the way it is written with alternating chapters with Ella and Alice, as well as some old diary entries from Chris’ Mum. This book will keep you guessing until the end when everything starts to fall into place. If you have read Lesley’s pervious book and enjoyed it you will love this one too ......... if not then you need to add both to the top of your reading pile.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.

Oh my! This book is twisty and absolutely gripping, as promised. I had started reading a different book and could not get myself into it so I turned to The Woman at 46 Heath Street. Now this one I could get into. I was hooked from the very beginning. I adored Ella. She is a wonderful narrator and seems to be just a great person (she’s real in my head, okay?). Her story was written so so well. The back and forth between time lines was great too. I will say I did predict some of it from the middle of the book. I could guess the major plot twist. I do read a lot of thrillers so I am pretty good at guessing plots. But it didn’t take away from the book. It was still a wonderfully written, absolutely gripping and terrifically twisty book!

Great story, atmospheric, a thriller rollercoaster of a book. Gripped from the first page - a must read for those thrill seekers

Ella returns home from a spa weekend and finds a note - "Your husband is having an affair". from that moment on, everything is wrong. Her beloved mother in law died a few months earlier and now her husband is leaving her, and telling her she must leave the house she loves so much.

Ella, determined not to leave the only home she's ever known, refuses to leave and is tormented and harassed by a mysterious bully - be is 'the other woman' or Chris, himself. She asks her new friend Alice to move in and the next layer to this story begins.

Lesley Sanderson knows how to write a freaking book. My GOD, this was exciting. Sure, there were points where I figured things out a bit....but then a twist changed my theory. The diary entries from Nancy, Ella's mother in law, add a bit more mystery - and helped move the plot, as well as adding more to the plot.

All in all, this is an exciting thriller to add to the mix.

Thanks to the NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Brilliant book! Had me guessing all the way through and loved the unexpected twist of an ending! This is another book that deserves way more than just five stars. If you only read one book this year make it this one!

A structure of brick and mortar can raise so much passion in a person when it is the only home she has ever known. This book is proof of that as Ella loved living in 46 Heath Street. Orphaned at a young age, rejected by her mother, thrown into foster homes, then finding love with her husband Chris and a mother figure in Nancy, her MIL, Ella was happy with what life had brought to her until the death of her MIL.

Then came a note - Your husband is having an affair!!

On confronting, husband accepted it and walked out, and then kept pressing her to sell the house. Ella took in a lodger Alice as she hated being alone. But Alice too had her own secrets regarding the house. The house was the focal point of everyone's lives.

My first book by Lesley Sanderson, the book was slow to start with. I could feel Ella's pain, her loneliness and her sense of betrayal. The book was a bit moody, it gripped me at times, then looked at me indifferently, then caught hold of me in a clinch. We had a love-hate relationship going on with a constant ebb and flow. There was another parallel storyline happening so I could guess the story and the reason for the house being so important to Ella, Chris, and Alice.

Ah my niggles, repetitive scenes, no twists, no sharp turns, no exclamations from me, Ella was too needy and the story was predictable.

A domestic mystery of sorts, the plot line had its suspenseful scenes, physical abuse described made me want to whack the man - ah, those were the good moments!!

There's nothing like a good dramatic domestic thriller to ease into the weekend with. The woman at 49th Heath Street is a fast-paced, twisty, gripping and suspenseful thriller that hooked me right in from the first chapter!
The plot for this one is really strong although 1 chapter midway had me a bit confused. I was quite taken with Ella, the main character of this book. She's lonely, desperate and was cheated on by her husband. I like how the author let's us have a glimpse into Ella's head as we see the story unfold from her POV. This book has some very interesting, if not strong characters.
However, I would really have liked for some closure at the end of this one, something that eluded me. Otherwise this was a really good book!
Thank you Netgalley, Lesley Sanderson & bookouture for an arc.

The Woman at 46 Heath Street was a book that I read very quickly. I loved The Orchid Girls by Lesley Sanderson so I was super keen to see how she followed it up. Despite picking the ending early on it was a great read. It had me hooked and if I hadn't had such a busy weekend I would have finished it sooner. I am definitely a fan of this author and will be keeping an eye out for what she brings us next.

Ella receives a hand written letter at home, addressed to just her. To her shock when she opens it all it says is "Your husband is having an affair" He whole work comes crashing down and her husband Chris moves out. Struggling to cope and lonely in her big, beautiful house in Hampstead Heath she asks a friend from yoga Alice to move in with her. Chris is threatening to sell the house but she is determined to fight it. Strange things start to happen around the house but Alice is there to help her. Between all of this we get glimpses into the past with the diary of Nancy, Chris' late mother.

This book will have you reading just a bit more as you need to know what happens next. Plenty of twists and turns.

Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinons are my own and are in no way biased.

This started off strong and I found it initially to be quite compelling. I did feel it became a little bit repetitive and the story seemed to have come to a bit of a standstill.

The Woman at 46 Heath Street by Lesley Sanderson is a twisty, fast-paced thriller that will catch your attention from the very first page. Isnt that the best kind of book? Im not a fan of novels that take forever to get into it. I want the author to drop me into the action right away!

Can you imagine getting a note that informs you that your husband is having an affair?

Synopsis:

The last letter is addressed to me. No stamp, swirly handwriting in black ink. I pull out a piece of paper, stiffening when I read the message. Hands trembling, the note slides to the floor. Your husband is having an affair.

Six words written in neat block letters. Six words slipped through her letterbox, destroying her marriage, exposing Ella’s perfect life as perfect lies. But Ella has a plan: Alice is the answer to her problems. A lodger, to help keep her afloat, a friend, to keep the loneliness at bay. Only Alice has her own reasons for wanting to live at 46 Heath Street…

How could he? Ella is justifiably upset but refuses to leave the house although her husband wants to sell it. She has just spent several months caring for her sick mother in law Nancy, and now that Nancy has passed, Ella refuses to leave. She ends up letting her new friend Alice stay there with her and right away I didn’t trust Alice.

I don’t want to give too much away because you have to see how this unfolds for yourself! I love a good suspense novel that contains lots of secrets!

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The description of this book sounded as if it would be right up my alley and it started off strong, pulling me into the story quickly. Unfortunately, it became predictable pretty quickly, which made me lose interest.

Ella and Chris have been happily married when all of a sudden Chris wants a divorce. Ella is crushed but her yoga pal, Alice, comes to her rescue and moves in with her to help with expenses. Alice is a great friend, but is she really??? Strange things start to happen which will keep you guessing until the very end. This book grabbed me from the first few pages. It is a captivating page turner with lots of twist and turns with an ending I did not see coming. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this very addictive read in exchange for an honest review.

Ella receives a note that blows her world apart “your husband is having an affair”. She is devastated and tries to reason with him but he moves out immediately. She finds out he has maxed out his credit card, has missed mortgage payments and has other money problems. She is a complete wreck and is obsessed with finding out who the other woman is. Chris (her husband) then tells her he is putting the house on the market. She has a stake in the house and to help her pay her share she decides ask Alice, a woman from her yoga class if she’d like to rent a room for a while. But...is Alice a friend or a foe?
The story is told by Ella and Alice with flashbacks to Nancy, Chris’ mother. The description of the house and Hampstead Heath was so vivid that I went to google earth to see if such houses really exist. This really was a good compelling read which pretty much had me hooked from the beginning. I like the way its secrets were revealed and I very much enjoyed the ending. Recommended.

A psychological thriller dealing with secrets and revenge - this book had interesting characters and several twists and turns. Even though I guessed the ending about 75% in, it was still awesome!
Ella is living her dream life - wonderful marriage and a magnificent home at 46 Heath Street - until one day she receives a letter with six little words....."Your husband is having an affair". She is devastated - she thinks her friend Alice moving in will help her heal. But what are Alice's true intentions? And does her beautiful home harbor terrible secrets?
Thank you to Lesley Sanderson, Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC of this great book!

This was ok once the whole. The flipping between times was a bit disjointed and I found it quite annoying. Storyline was interesting but not sure if delivered overall.

A very engaging book that holds your attention throughout. The flashbacks to the late 1990s add more flesh to the story. There are twists aplenty but for me I was able to guess about 2/3 in - however, this didn't stop me from still thoroughly enjoying the whole book.

A gripping and intense read. I was very excited to start this one since the blurb had fascinated me.

It was an easy book to read, the characters were interesting and I wanted to know more about them, the more the story went on.
I would recommend this book to my friends!

3.5 Stars
A well written and interesting read. The book begins without any preamble and gets you right in to it. It’s hard to put down. The suddenness of the situation makes it a compulsive read. The writing style makes you connect with the plot and stay connected. The diary pages are a good variation and the initial guess is that they belong to Nancy. The plot actually has 2 storylines and both are engaging, and reveal the personalities of all characters well.
There are no loopholes or gaps in the plot. Almost everything that you can think of questioning is answered somewhere in the plot, that level of attention to detail is admirable and a rare quality in most authors today. The ‘reveal’ was actually a pretty easy guess so that was a little disappointing. But the writing was engaging and the story telling was enticing.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn’t even get halfway through this one. The writing is awful. From the main character rambling on about her dead mother-in-law the entire time to the lack-lustre storyline, this “thriller” is completely uninspiring. Trust me and just skip this one.
