I didn't expect to fall in love with Grant and Aubrey as hard as I did, but I fell as soon as they piled into Grant's car for the ten hour drive to Boston for Thanksgiving. The divorced couple often saw each other on opposite sides in the courtroom, but they worked hard not to engage with each other more than necessary. It's revealed pretty quickly what tore the two apart, and my heart broke for them as they healed. In the two-day journey, Meader told their love story through flashbacks and the dual perspectives allowed the reader to understand how each of them interpreted key moments in their past. Then Came You is an emotional read, but also a very important one with topics I wish were more openly discussed in society. If you're looking for a quick swoony read that will also twist your heart, Grant and Aubrey are just what the doctor ordered!

A poignant story of love, loss and healing. The author does a remarkable job of discussing a loss that is often devastating for many couples. In this story she uses wit, humor, friends, family, sex and a very grumpy cat to help this wonderfully flawed couple through the processes. You feel their pain and experience their healing as they reconnect and rediscover all the things that make them good together. It has a happy ending but getting there is a road of reality checks.

This one’s a heartbreaker!

This book is about the third partner in a law firm ... Grant. Grant and his wife Aubrey separated two years ago and neither one can move on from it. So when Grant gets the opportunity to drive Aubrey home for Thanksgiving, he takes full advantage to try and win her back.

We finally find out why Grant and Audrey get divorced and what a heart wrenching reason! This story is about love and heartbreaking loss and trying to come back from it. I just loved that Grant never gave up on Audrey and kept trying to get through the brick walls she erected around her heart. Audrey did make me mad at times and I wanted to give her a swift kick and tell her to get off her butt and go back to Grant ... they don’t make many men that caring! And I loved Audrey’s grandmother, Libby ... what a gem! A great finish to a wonderful series!

As the third in the Laws of Attraction series, Then Came You is definitely my favorite. But the funny thing is, if I had realized it was part of the series, I might not have read it at all. And that would have been a mistake on my part.
First off, Then Came You can be read as a stand-alone. Because of my issues with the couple in the first book, I don’t even remember much about Aubrey and Grant as secondary characters. Maybe that helped, I don’t know.
Secondly, if by reading the blurb you get the impression that this is a sexy, funny, second chance story...you’d be partly right. It’s definitely sexy, there are some funny bits (grandmother Libby is someone I’d love to spend a day, or a week, with) but there’s some heavy subject matter, too. Enough to turn me off...no. But there’s more than enough chick lit-ness to push back on my like-it-lighter romance loving heart.
Aubrey is a character that some may find hard to like. I liked her in spite of that, thanks to both looking at her through Grant’s eyes, and through the honest writing of Kate Meader. I think another author might have written Aubrey as less sympathetic and harder. But Meader expressed all the different shades of Aubrey in a rainbow of strength, sadness and love.
Grant was perfect, maybe too perfect...until he expressed more of his own pain. He then became more real and even sexier, if possible, than before. I could almost hear that slow southern drawl in my ear. I read each character differently, because Aubrey came through in a clipped Boston accent (very different than the dropped Rs speech one hears while walking through Southie or in the shouts at a Red Sox game). Their juxtaposition made them so much more compelling.
I think Then Came You is a book that either you like, or you don’t. Not every reader will be satisfied. But you won’t know which you are, until you try it. I liked it a lot, I hope you will to.

This story explores rebuilding a marriage that foundered after a miscarriage. Divorce Lawyers Aubrey Gates and Grant Lincoln were college sweethearts, but their marriage did not survive losing a child. When Aubrey is injured and unable to drive to Boston for thanksgiving, Grant volunteers to drive her in the hopes that spending the time together will allow them to rekindle their relationship. Aubrey all ready on edge because she’s never really felt accepted by her family reluctantly agrees. Sweet soulful book that I found myself laughing, crying and loving. - right to the perfect happily ever after! I’m new to this author and I’m so happy I took a chance on her!

Then Came You is perfection, plain and simple! The H and h are emotionally complex characters who love deeply, suffer a terrible loss and can’t find their way through it together. They’re divorced, but the love, attraction and chemistry are as potent as ever.

This has all the feels and the sexy is dialed up to hot, just like I love it! It’s a winner!

Then Came You is the last book in Kate Meader’s Laws of Attraction series and unfortunately it was a bit of a letdown. Second chance romance is one of my favorite troupes, but for me this one left a bit to be desired.

Grant and Aubrey are both divorce attorneys and after a long relationship and three years married, they have been divorced for a year. At a mutual friend’s wedding they reconnect with Grant offering to drive Aubrey home for her grandmother’s 90th birthday party. I’ll admit I was a bit excited about them taking a road trip especially since it was obvious there were still feeling between them, but it soon became Grant trying to break through Aubrey’s seemingly impenetrable shell. I adored Grant and I felt deeply for his loss and his worry about the demise of their marriage and the guilt he felt on many levels. For so much of this book Aubrey’s lack of emotion was almost scary and the fact she flatly refused to even try with Grant bothered me. As the story unfolded, I understood that her upbringing factored into her response or lack their of, but I kept waiting for her to see the light and for me it came too little, too late in the book. I wanted to see them work through things together, not have “a-ha” moments alone and while it was obvious that physically there was nothing wrong between them, I found myself wishing they hadn’t acted on that and instead worked on the communication their relationship was so sadly lacking.

The premise of Then Came You was promising, but unfortunately the romance was disappointing leaving me wanting more.

A very sweet story. Grant, lovable hunky southern gentleman, wants to reconcile with Aubrey. Something happened in their past, never to be discussed or shared with family, and it tore them apart. He offers to drive her home for Thanksgiving, sweet guy that he is but really wants that second chance. Aubrey is very stubborn thanks to her snobbish upbringing but he breaks her down eventually. Lots of feelings, I needed a tissue a few times and others found myself giggling. Beautiful ending to an awesome series, a little reunion of sorts with previous characters and a tidy ending. Thanks to the publisher for extending an early copy through Netgalley, the review was voluntary.

This was a new to me author and the premises hooked me, I am a sucker for that second chance romance.
Aubrey and Grant are both lawyers and forces to be reckoned with in the courtroom. They represent opposite sides of being a divorcee attorney and it’s a battle when they are in the same room. Little side note they used to call each other Husband and Wife.... talk about tension!
Aubrey and Grant just didn't work out, so they got divorced, but now Aubrey has a family event to attend and surprise, she 'forgot' to mention to her family that her marriage did not work out. Her granny is going to be 90 and she needs Grant to just pretend that everything is still good between them. Of course life happens and she hurts herself and is not able to fly. Guess who is going on a road trip?! Two ex's in a confined space with lots of static electricity you know it's going to be quite the ride. The more time these two spend together the more their relationship starts to change and heal. Grant is determined to make Aubrey see that they still love each other and the tension between the two is there from chapter to chapter This is definitely a great read to see the relationship reignite between these two! I found myself rooting from page one for them to just get back together! I'm glad I took a chance because I love this author and love how this story had a great flow to it!

This is the third and last book in the Laws of Attraction series, and what a fun series this was! This one is still considered a standalone though. It was much more emotional than I expected. The story focuses on Aubrey and Grant. We met them in the first book and I was immediately intrigued with what exactly had transpired between them. Well, we get our answers in this book. While I do understand what would make them drift apart, I feel like it was just a miscommunication between the two that escalated into divorce, when it really could have been resolved quite easily. They were pretty much opposites, but I loved their individual characters too. I really loved these two together and was rooting for them throughout the whole book! We also get to see all of our favorite characters from previous books. And that epilogue was amazing! This was the perfect ending to a great series. Highly recommend this entire series!

My love – second chance romance. This is one emotional story that kept pulling at my heart and had me melancholy through parts of the story. I cannot imagine what Aubrey and Grant felt but through the terrific writing of Ms. Meader, I can go along with their journey. As always, Ms. Meader’s writing is fun (crazy cat and even crazier Grandma), flirty and full of passion.

What an ending to the series! The chemistry between Audrey and Grant has simmered all through the series and I just couldn't wait to see how their story would play out. Not only is Ms. Meader one of my all time favorite contemporary romance writers but this story sets the seal on why she holds that place in my affections.
So Audrey apparently does not like to fly and since she can't drive, along comes Grant her ex-husband to the rescue. Surprise! Surprise! Audrey hasn't had the heart to tell the one person she loves the most in her family about her broken marriage so Grant and Audrey are going to have to pretend to be husband and wife in her parent's home. The biggest surprise of course is the conspiracy between Grammy and Grant! Poor Audrey she's definitely been had by a determined man.
The one thing that's been a puzzle all along is why they broke up in the first place. The chemistry has been sizzling, clearly there are feelings on both sides and yet no one seems to know what actually happened. When the truth is revealed it's heartbreaking and totally not what you'd have expected. The author shares the back story of how they met, and fell in love, married and divorced as the two of them hit the road. Can their differences ever be resolved? Grant is determined to win his wife back.
As they deal with her dysfunctional family the story plays out to a beautiful conclusion and an unexpected happier ever after. Another winner for the keeper shelf. I'm looking forward to what comes next from this author.

I’ve read almost everything Kate Meader has written, loved it all and, well, Then Came You. Forgive the title pun, but this book is, by turns, a classic example of Ms. Meader’s exceptional writing, and unlike anything of hers I’ve read before.

And I mean that is a good, positive, oh-how-I-loved-this-book way. It’s a deeply emotional, heartfelt and swoony romance that straddles the line with elements of women’s fiction—evidenced in Aubrey’s journey—and guys, it made me cry. Ms. Meader writes with such heart—paints a picture with her words, which tells a beautiful story—that even through the tears, I smiled.

Grant and Aubrey are just perfect. From my first meeting with them to the last word on the last page, I loved them separately and together. They flirt, fight, banter and (re)build something with each other and the reader that’s sure to win hearts left, right and center.

With all the feels, an Alpha hero with a big, soft heart, and a heartbreakingly relatable backstory that gave their second chance much depth, Then Came You absolutely captivated me.

I was waiting for Aubrey and Grant’s story to be published. I couldn’t wait to find out the reasons why they got divorced. I thought it was going to be a silly reason, like Grant was working too much or Aubrey was insecure. I was surprised when the reason was revealed. Surprised isn’t the correct term. I was heartbroken for both of them.

Then Came You’s plotline was straightforward. Aubrey and Grant were a divorced couple who are forced to take a road trip to Boston for Thanksgiving. Audrey never told her grandmother that they got divorced. While on the trip, Audrey and Grant are forced to acknowledge the reason why their marriage ended. They also are forced to recognize that their love never went away. Will they be able to put the past in the past? Or will it continue to keep them apart?

I thought Audrey could have benefitted from therapy the majority of the book. Girlfriend had issues which started in her childhood. She was so tense that it was rubbing off on her cat. I couldn’t stand her the first few chapters. But, when she and Grant started on their road trip, I began to see another side to her. I began to like her when she began to open up to Grant about why their marriage ended. I liked that the author wrote her the way she did. She wasn’t perfect, and her issues weren’t going to be solved overnight. I had been getting sick of characters that had perfect lives. Audrey was a breath of fresh air.

I loved Grant. There was a point at the beginning of the book where I thought he was a pushover. But, as the book went on and I began to see the damage that Audrey’s family did to her, I started to understand why he was like that. And I admired him for it. I liked that the author chose to show his reaction to what happened to him and Audrey. My heart broke into bits. I also liked his resolve to mend things between him and Audrey. I will say that he had more tolerance than I did. If my in-laws were like Audrey’s family, I would have lost my cool.

The cat was a huge hit for me. He added much-needed humor to certain situations. I was laughing out loud when he was in the scene. As a cat owner (I have two), I can relate to some of the situations Audrey found herself in with the cat.

I disliked Audrey’s family. Her parents were a piece of work. I couldn’t get over how selfish and self-centered both of them were. The only one I liked was her grandmother. She was a hoot. A pot smoking 90-year-old grandmother. Who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Loved it!!

Grant’s family was more realistic. His mother was 15 when she had him and she worked hard to provide a good home for him. She might not have had the money, but she adored her son. His stepfather was as good. As I said, they were more realistic. More what I am used to seeing in real life.

I loved Then Came You was a second chance romance. The reasons why Audrey and Grant divorced were heartbreaking. Even in the previous books, you could see how in love they still were with each other. So to watch them rebuild their relationship was beautiful.

The sex scenes were off the chart hot. I loved that Grant gave Audrey 3 orgasms for his one. The author was able to keep the sexual attraction and chemistry going throughout the book.

The end of Then Came You was one of the more emotional that I have read. I wanted to hand hankies out to everyone. But, it was the epilogue that got me. I will admit, I had tears during it. It was an ending that Grant and Audrey deserved!!! Plus, I liked seeing what the other couples were doing too.

I would give Then Came You an Adult rating. There is sex. There is language. There is mild violence. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.

I would reread Then Came You. I would also recommend this book to family and friends.

I enjoyed this book because it's a plot I haven't seen much before. Aubrey and Grant have been divorced for about two years, based on circumstances rather than falling out of love. They're both unhappy and secretly miss each other. Aubrey's broken arm and fear of flying (introduced at the end of the previous book) give Grant an idea to volunteer to drive her from Chicago to Boston for Thanksgiving and her grandmother's birthday. He uses the time in the car and offering support when dealing with her family to try to get something rekindled between them. There are a lot of flashbacks/recollections of past important events in their relationship that help enrich the story. I enjoyed this, and the epilogue was satisfying conclusion to the series.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It had some steam, laughs, and some real problems.

Aubrey and Grant are divorce lawyers who were once married. Now she needs help getting home for Thanksgiving. Grant is such a sweetheart and so understanding. I enjoyed Aubrey as well but at times I really wanted to shake her. She grew up with a mother who didn’t show any affection and wanted perfection causing her to be extra hard on herself. I understand we deal with situations differently but it was hard reading how she closed herself off and pushed Grant away when he needed her, they needed each other.

Regardless, I enjoyed reading their story and enjoyed the grumpy cat, too. It showed that even though people love each other it might not be enough to prevent a relationship from crumbling. In this case they found their way back together.

The third book in the series has Aubrey and Grant. Two lawyers who were married at one time but are now divorced. You are taken through their time together as Grant decides to drive Aubrey from Chicago to Boston because she broke her arm. She also has a cat and wants to take it. He knows all of these things plus she has also not told everyone that they are divorced or the reason for the divorce. The drive to Boston begins the look back into their life from college to marriage to the reason for their divorce. The reason for their divorce people may not agree with but I do understand the turmoil that she was going through. She was trying to keep everything a secret and when she found out that he had spoken to her grandmother everything began to unravel. Her tight nit life that she wanted to portray was blown apart along with the one person that she was still in love with Grant. She decided to follow him to Georgia and see if they could finally have any chance of being back together. The last part of this book is very good and brings you up to date on the couples from the other books also.

I'm a big fan of this series and was very excited to read Grant and Aubrey's story. I really enjoy this author's writing style and would recommend the entire series to fans of contemporary romance. I was prepared for the second-chance at love story and all the baggage that usually comes with it. However, this story was far more emotional as it deals with the loss of a pregnancy. After their loss, Grant and Aubrey dealt with their grief in their own ways which eventually led to their separation. Determined to reconnect with Aubrey, Grant inserts himself in her plans to road trip home. This was a memorable read for me and I highly recommend!
