I absolutely loved this book. It drew me in the second I started reading it. Amazing story line and I did not see the ending coming, which is hard to do considering the amount of thrillers out there. This has to be my favorite Riley Sager book!!

Wow! Riley Sager has done it again. This is my favorite kind of book, the kind that you pick up and cannot put down. I read it in two sittings because it was so compelling. While I did see one of the twists, as it was true Sager fashion, I did not see the ending twist coming! I would highly recommend this for a great summer read!

Riley Sager has done it again! As with his previous two novels, I was drawn into this book from the very first page, just as Jules is drawn into the Bartholomew despite her hesitations.

From the minute Sager started posting on Instagram about his newest novel I knew I had to get my hands on it ASAP. That's how amazing his books are. He has this ability to slowly pull you in and the next thing you know you're on a wild ride and you have no idea where you're going.

Such is the same with Lock Every Door. It starts out ordinary enough, with Jules being down on her luck and finding a gem in being an apartment sitter at a ritzy New York apartment building. Sure the rules are weird but $1000 a week for 3 months is totally worth it. Right?

Until some really weird, creepy things start happening. And when Jules' new friend Ingrid disappears she knows something is very wrong.

The end? Was ridiculous in the BEST way. I finished it on an airplane and when I was done all I could do was set my Kindle down and ponder what just happened.

I need this book to be a movie. I need it now. And I need you all to read it so we can discuss. Get your  hands on this book NOW. It will blow your mind.

What an excellent psychological thriller! I devoured this book in one day! I love how fast paced it was and how each chapter left me wanting to read more until I finished the entire book. This is the third novel I read by Riley Sager and let's just say I will be a fan of anything he writes forever. This will be a great summer read!

This is my favorite Riley Sagar book. The twist in the end I couldn't see coming. This book was so good. I will be raving about it in Summer Reading Guide next week.

Another great book by author, Riley Sager. I enjoyed this book because of its thrilling, fast-paced , edge of your seat nature. Jules becomes an apartment sitter at one of Manhattan's most prestigious buildings. She is bombarded with crazy rules and even crazier neighbors. At times the thrill vibe was a bit unbelievable but I still couldn't put this book down. I highly recommend you check this one out.

Thank you so much @duttonbooks for the @netgalley of Riley Sager’s highly anticipated new thriller! Lock Every Door tells the story of Jules and her discovery as to what is really going on at New York City’s finest apartment building, the Bartholomew. Jules enters as an apartment sitter for apartment 12A and within minutes of realizing she is being paid to stay in New York’s best apartment she thinks it must be too good to be true. Told over the course of a few days, Lock Every Door follows Jules journey to discover the mystery of the past and present and see why people seem to be disappearing into thin air. I LOVED this book and it completely lived up to its predecessors of Final Girls and the Last Time I Lied. @riley.sager has easily become one of my favorite authors because his thrillers are extremely fast paced and keep you guessing until the end and this was no exception. While reading I honestly did not know where the book was headed and no matter what clues I discovered as a reader, I did not figure out truly what was going on. I love Sager’s novels because although the characters are usually women in a time of adversity, he does not make them helpless and in need of rescuing, he makes them the heroes who decide their own fate and can save themselves from danger. I highly recommend Lock Every Door to anyone who loves a thriller as this would be a great beach or summer read because it goes quick. Lock Every Door comes out on July 2, so make sure to get your hands on a copy!

After loving last years “The Last Time I Lied” I was so excited to be approved for “Lock Every Door.” This was definitely a read that gets you hooked from the beginning and you aren’t going to want to put down.

You’re offered $4,000 a month to apartment-sit a luxury unit on the top floor of one of NYC’s most famous apartments. The only rules are no visitors, no social media, and no bugging the other residents. And Jules, who only has a couple hundred bucks to her name, recently lost her job, found out her boyfriend is cheating on her, and is now homeless, can’t believe her luck when she is offered this opportunity.

However, things aren’t maybe as great as they seem, as a series of mysterious disappearances start to alarm Jules and her friends and Jules sets out on a dangerous journey to learn the truth.

I enjoyed every aspect about this book, although I feel there were a couple things I would have liked to see more resolution on, including some info on Jules family.

This is definitely an exciting book that is a true page turner! Don’t hesitate to check it out - you won’t regret it.

5/5 stars

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was so good and so creepy! Definitely a page turner. Jules takes a house sitting job that turns out to be much different than she bargained for.

Thanks to @netgalley for providing me with a copy of @riley.sager ‘s upcoming release!

Jules scores the job of a lifetime being an apartment sitter at an elite Manhattan building. She can live in this beautiful place while earning excellent money. However, as she quickly learns, this place is more of a mystery than she realized. There are strict rules to follow, which doesn’t sit right with her best friend. The more she hears, Jules begins to feel uneasy about the building’s strange myths. Since she isn’t allowed to have outside visitors, she becomes friends with Ingrid, the sitter in the apartment below. After setting up a time and place to meet each day, Ingrid goes missing! As Jules searches for her, she learns that other sitters have unexpectedly disappeared, and that the building holds more secrets than she realized! Will she find Ingrid and discover the truth about her disappearance, or will Jules be the next to disappear?
I think that this one was my favorite Sager book! I could not wait to pick it up each day to see how everything would play out! It was vivid in my my mind and seemed like a Hitchcock movie. It would be excellent as a screen adaption! I highly recommend it!

Well, I finished this book about ten minutes ago and I’m still sort of in shock!!! This was a MUCH wilder, creepier, scarier ride than either of his last books. And yet in a way it was almost a nostalgic read, at times making me remember reading RL Stine books as a kid. Jules is a fabulously written character, and her journey from entering the Bartholomew to ultimately solving its mystery is a believable one. I bought into her character completely. It raises interesting questions about socioeconomic equality, and the plot was extremely creative. I personally loved how Sager managed to make the ending somewhat shocking and he kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, yet I never felt like he used the ridiculous and eye rolling plot twists that are unfortunately becoming ubiquitous as of late. Solid 4 stars and a fabulous summer read!

Thank you Netgalley and Dutton for the free digital copy!

No family. No job. No boyfriend. No money. Meet Jules Larsen.

When Jules is at the end of her rope and without hope she seeks a quick job and stumbles upon an ad for an apartment sitting job at one of the most glamorious buildingings in New York. Convinced she will not recieve an offer for the job, Jules is thrilled to learn she has not only gotten the job but that the position offers a substantial monthly sum.

Jules is excited to become the Barthalothe's newest resident and quickly dismisses the building managers strict rules: no visitors, no interacting with permanent residents, etc. She decides she can handle a handful of bizarre rules to make a "to good to be true" deal work.

The apartment is idealic, a bit mysterious, and a tad dark but Jules ignores her instincts that say something about the place is a tad "off" until one night she hears a scream. The next morning a fellow apartment sitter has vanished. What unfolds next for Jules is anything but good. Far from good. As far away from good as is possible. It's horrorfying.

Riley Sager's, third, "Locke Every Door"is a fun and fantastic read! The story is paced adequately with interresting characters and plot twists. Sager is a master at creating endings that make your blood turn cold. If you're looking for a good suspence thriller that will entertain, look no further. Well done, Mr Sager. Well done.

I’ve read a couple books by Riley Sager. Though this is not one of my favorites by her I did enjoy this book. It really took a turn I did not see coming and kept me reading.

First and foremost thank you to Netgalley for approving my request Lock Every Door by Riley Sager. What a ride! Sager has the ability to reach out and grab you from the first page, and he doesn't let you go until the end. I was first introduced to Riley Sager by Book of the Month and now he is a MUST READ.
Jules Larsen has been through a lot. Some would call it tragic and some would call it life. Jules is haunted by her past, and is now couch surfing with her bestfriend. Between her cheating boyfriend, and loss of employment she just can't seem to catch a break. Then her luck changes. Responding to an ad for an apartment sitter, she soon discovers that the address is none other than that of the infamous Bartholomew. The setting of a favorite childhood novel that she shared with her sister, Jules is automatically smitten and is absolutely stunned when she finds out that not only is the job there, but the pay is way more than she could hope for, even if taking the job means she has to follow a strict and unsettling list of rules. No guests ever not even family, no pictures, no social media updates, no talking to other residents and you must always be there at night. Easy enough, right? When Jules starts talking to other residents, and they go missing she starts to wonder what she really got herself into. Weird noises, disappearances and rude neighbors all attribute to the storm that is brewing. Is Jules going crazy? Are things what they really seem?
Lock Every Door is a modern day horror story with the twist I didn't see coming. The scary reality of it makes it even harder for me to sleep at night. Riley Sager left my head feeling. This is a definite must own book! Thank you again for the review copy!

I have loved the previous two books by Sager, and I had high hopes for Lock Every Door. While not the strongest of Sager's works, this book was super enjoyable, fast-paced, and unpredictable. Sager leans into older horror tropes in each of his books, and while that could get tiresome, he does it with new twists that keep the stories fresh. In Lock Every Door, we follow Jules Larsen as she takes on a job as a house sitter in an upscale apartment building, famous for its mysterious past and a book written about one of its tenants. Jules happens to be obsessed with this book, and it gets a little annoying how often the book is brought up, considering the plot of the novel-within-a-novel is never really fleshed out and it's not clear why exactly Jules loves it so much. Still, as strange things begin happening in the apartment building, the book hits its stride and I was unable to put it down. I highly recommend this for fans of Sager's other books.

I discovered Riley Sager last summer after seeing him on a panel at Thrillerfest and immediately hopped out to pick up "Final Girls". I became an instant fan of his writing and storytelling. I was so excited to get my hands on an early copy of "Lock Every Door" and thoroughly enjoyed going on my third thrill ride with him.

"Lock Every Door" has all the things I want from a thriller - a complicated protagonist I'm rooting for, some creep factor atmosphere, twisty plot turns, a story that propels me to read "just one more chapter" and a whole lot of "wait...what on earth is going on here?". Happy to say this book did not disappoint.

When Jules comes across an ad to get paid to apartment sit she jumps on the opportunity. She's just lost her job, broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of the apartment they shared. She barely has any money in the bank and to say she's desperate is an understatement. When she finds out that the apartment is a duplex on the top floor of The Bartholomew, an iconic upper west side building that is shrouded in mystery and the home to only the wealthiest of people, it seems her luck is finally turning around. Sure she can't have guests come to visit and is required for spend every night at the apartment, but for $4K a month the rules don't seem so bad.

But Jules barely has a chance to enjoy her Central Park views before she realizes that something is not quite right about The Bartholomew or about the people who live there. And as she begins to ask questions and look into the building's history she quickly learns that if something looks too good to be true it probably is.

I was hooked from the start of this story and was so intrigued. The story built gradually, but was page turning in the "I want to spend more time with these characters and figure out what the deal is". And when I hit the final third of the book I dropped what I was doing to finish the book. I wasn't quite sure where things were going to go, which to me is the best part of a good thriller. And as a New Yorker I also thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions of the setting and the Dakota-vibe of the historic apartment building. I am a fan of Riley Sager's writing and characters and was rooting for Jules the whole time.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton Publishers for the digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is definitely a must read summer thriller.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️— Lock Every Door by Riley Sager— Out JULY 2

Thank you to Dutton and Netgalley for a copy of this ebook!

Jules is at rock bottom. Lost her job, her boyfriend and she’s sleeping on her best friend’s couch. She also has less than $500 to her name. But then an ad for a apt sitter comes to her attention in a famous building from her fav book. And it pays $1000 a week. Her best friend things it’s too good to be true...

What I loved: the plot in general. I thought Sager did a great job of pulling in the history for this old building and relating it to the plot. Loved the dynamics of the people living in the building. Each one played their own role and had a different importance to the book! The alternating timelines went from 6 days before til now, so it was not a long stretch and Sager’s writing keeps the pace fast and moving!

What I didn’t love: Jules’ decision making at times. <— can’t say anything more. But mostly, how the Ingrid plot line played out. Again, can’t say why!

Read this if you like Riley Sager! He is def consistent, but not in anyway formulaic which I love. Definitely an auto read author for me!
