Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a decent historical romance. Caroline meets James when she is at a suffrage meeting. Things get out of hand and she ends up with a concussion and in the care of Lord James. James is immediately attracted to her but tries to keep his distance since he has his own dark past to content with. Caroline and James are great together but I couldn't help and think that things moved rather quickly between them. Caroline acts naive and a bit childish for a woman fighting to get equal rights for women. James is so over protective that he treats her like a mindless child rather than a woman. The story It could have been better but it did entertain.

Caroline doesn't take well to James's orders, “I already have a domineering father, my lord. I don’t need another man telling me what I should and shouldn’t do.” She tipped her little chin in the air." A disoriented James is an amusing James, "he rubbed the back of his head. “Hard to sleep, love, with you screaming.” His eyes narrowed. “What in blazes are you doing in bed with your clothes on? Have you been at the whisky again?” I liked this book, I loved James.
