Suspenseful and intriguing, All The Dirty Secrets is a great read.

The story is about recovering from a stab wound to the gut, and dealing with the news that a sister’s killer might beat the system,

It has well-crafted characters and the storyline was easy to follow.

A riveting, suspenseful read with the right amount of twists and turns. I didn't know this was the fourth book in a series, but thankfully I didn't have a problem following along. I did feel an overwhelming urge to start from book one so I could get a full grasp into who Jake Carrington really was, but that was only because he was a great character to get to know. Nonetheless, the story had all the elements I look for in a suspenseful read. I was engaged and invested in the story until the very end. I will definitely be reading the previous books and be on the look out for more books in the series.

This is the 4th book in a series, and it would probably help if you've ready the early books and have an understanding for the characters.
While the writing seems solid and easy to read, I didn't care for the characters and couldn't really get overly invested in the story and find it enjoyable. At times there is too much going on and I would feel lost and disjointed.

On y retrouve Jake Carrington qui se remet d'une blessure au coup de couteau. L'assassin de sa sœur pourrait refaire surface. Mais une nouvelle enquête est là pour Jake la femme d'un commissaire de police, tout porte à croire que la victime avait une liaison. Quant à Melinda la petite amie de lycée à Jake qu'il n'a pas vu depuis le meurtre de sa sœur, elle va disparaitre comme d'autres femmes qui seront retrouvés mortes. Jake va devoir se poser des questions, Melinda a t'elle vraiment disparu où se cache t'elle?

Un livre lu d'une traite tellement j'ai accroché à l'histoire si émouvante à certains passages, captivante, addictive, remplie de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages attachants. Hâte de lire les livres précédents pour en savoir plus sur les personnages.

The author never disappoints. Another suspenseful thriller. Jake, the main character, is thrust into an investigation which brings back tough memories about his sister who was murdered. Add to this, his boss's wife is a victim and an old girlfriend may be involved. As Jake is trying to recover from a wound while spending time with his girlfriend, he is called into the investigation immediately. Mia is not happy he is working so hard. His partner Louie wants to spend more time at home with his family. All is put on hold as they work through the case. Women wanting to spice up their marriages are talked into pictures they really were hesitant to take. Blackmail, suspense, mystery and is the old girlfriend and her accomplice murderers? Wonderful suspenseful thriller mystery.

Wow Marian Lanouette is a new author for me and I simply love her work. If you enjoy police procedural novels this series is up there with the best.
Lieutenant Jake Carrington is recovering from an injury when his boss calls him back to work to head up a murder enquiry. The victim is the commissioners wife - found in a sleazy motel room with some very incriminating evidence just hours after hosting an important charity dinner.
Where does the evidence lead ?
Once you start you will just keep on reading this exciting novel until the culprit is revealed. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Marian Lanouette is able to have readers follow a story without realizing what they believe is right is leading them in the wrong direction. The work of Jake Carrington is full of mystery adventures and suspense that will have readers excited to start with book one or waiting for the next in the series.



The characters are well developed and readers of the series will loved this addition to the series and those just starting the series will take a little longer to find what they might be looking for in Jake Carrington.

I enjoyed this police procedural/ mystery. This is my first ride with Jake but I did enjoy it. I am now going to read the first three books in this series. Is his ex girlfriend a killer or is she a target? Jake has to do some fine sleuthing and soul searching as well.

Exciting with twists and past stories that add to the mystery. This was my first tale with Jake Carrington. Sorry I missed out on the first three, but that certainly didn't hinder my enjoyment of this one. I will go back for the previous ones and do look forward to the next one in this series. Nice to be able to read a police-centered story without foul language.

This is the fourth book in the ‘Jake Carrington’ series by Marian Lanouette, though the first one for me.

Lieutenant Jake Carrington needs some downtime as he recovers from a stab wound to the gut, and attempts to deal with the news that his sister’s killer might beat the system, however, it's cut short by a very sensitive case: the murder of the Police Commissioner’s wife. The crime scene is a dive hotel, complete with provocative, incriminating photos which suggest the victim was having an affair. But Jake finds that hard to believe and so does the main suspect . . .

The intriguing story-line totally captured my attention from the start as I found myself in a world of blackmail and debauchery and the author set the perfect pace in this action-filled, suspenseful thriller. In addition, I loved the complex and well-developed characters that Marian Lanouette has built on. I thought the camaraderie between the partners in crime, Jake and Louie was particularly well done. I was totally absorbed all the way through, until the fulfilling conclusion. The author’s writing style was very appealing, enabling me to visualise each scene whilst reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed this instalment in the ‘Jake Carrington’ series and I intend to catch up with the first three books.

All The Dirty Secrets by Marian Lanouette was a quick read with lots of twists and turns. It is also the 4th book in the Jake Carrington series. This is the first book of that series that I have read and I missed a lot of the back story. It was a good story but would have liked to have known it was part of a series first.

Lieutenant Jake Carrington is on holidays, recovering from being stabbed in a previous book. His trip is cut short when the police commissioner demands his presence on a case - the murder of his wife in a seedy, dive hotel. Next to her body is a pile of provocative photos. The photographer is an ex girlfriend of Jakes and she is on the list of prime suspects.

Jake Carrington is the lead investigator in the blackmailing cases that have hit his town involving the police department itself. Not only that but a major person of interest is an old high school girlfriend.
In the beginning I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book but it quickly grew on me. I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series but that didn’t detract from this book.

An amazing thriller! Had a couple of red herrings that I tried to follow, plus a surprise ending. Highly recommended!

Is Melinda a serial killer or a target? That's what Jake has to figure out- and fast. He's still dealing with the aftereffects of his sister's murder when the police commissioner asks him to take on the case of his own wife, found slain in a nasty hotel. With nasty photos by her side. The big twist-Melinda, a photographer, was Jake's love interest for a time. This is the fourth installment in Jake's series and I only read the last one- and think you will be fine with this as a standalone. Fans of serial killer procedurals will appreciate the twists Lanouette has added. Jake's a good character you will root for and Melinda- well, no spoilers. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

The fourth instalment in the Jake Carrington series and Jake's holiday is cut short when the police commissioner specifically requests him for the latest murder, the body of his wife has been found in a seedy rent by the hour motel with suggestive pictures of her left with the body, was she having an affair? Can Jake manage to stay impartial given who the murder victim's husband is?

During the course of the investigation, Jake as to face a blast from the past, a girl he went out with in highschool who he more or less hasn't spoken to since the death of his sister Eva, with her being a suspect in his investigation can he set aside his own personal feelings to get to the truth>

Another great police procedural read and a bit more insight into the dynamics of the police force in America, with the Mayor trying to push for a suspect and have the police commissioner arrest, they are working against the clock to produce results but will the results have devastating results?

All the Dirty Secrets is a good suspenseful thriller that will keep your attention. A quick read with interesting characters.

I love the covers of all the books in this series. While I enjoyed the others I am already starting to get a bit tired of the "formula". For a quick, easy entertaining read this one is for you!
