Ren Faire romance, wenches, taverns, sexy pirates.... I loved this cute Rom Com so much. Simon and Emily have great chemistry. I like the supporting friends roles too because it made the every day romance more relatable.
The family love between sisters and niece was perfect. Simon well and Mitch 😉were both swoon worthy. Honoring loved ones, support of family, Renaissance history and small town culture. This book was rich in life and love.

Such a great story, it was sweet and cute.It was fast paced and I loved the concept.I adored the characters and I devour it in one sitting.
Emily has moved to stay with her older sister and niece for the summer while her sister recovers from a car accident.Emily goes her niece Caitlin to sign up to be a cast member for the Ren Faire. But she has to work too, there she will meet Simon, the Faire’s organizer. They do not get along well at first.Their conversations were fun!
I loved the set up and the characters were well developed!I loved Emily, she was so nice.Simon was a swoon worthy hero, I loved him so much!

Just an OK book. Story feels very choppy, would have enjoyed multifaceted character development rather than relying on the same traumas over and over

A rom-com set at the Ren Faire. What more could my cos-playing heart could ask for? I was barely into this book and I was giddy with laughter and as the story went on. It only got better. Swoony moments of fun that I could not get enough of. This debut is going to be a big hit.

A sweet romance that has so many touching moments between Simon and Emily, that will have you dreaming for much more...
Let's begin by stating that this is Jen's debut novel and the first time reading anything by her, so I am rather surprised at myself that I was able to enjoy her story. Why am I surprised you may say? Because lately, with new authors I have not been hitting it squared. And it scares me to think that this may be a constant thing with future new authors. Either way, I can say for sure that reading that synopsis had me drawn to idea of requesting this baby. I mean, have you read it? Renaissance reenactment? I mean, HECK YES! Sign me up one hundred percent! There is a lot to this story that brings the eye to the attention in all good aspects. Especially when dealing with the characters that will have you questioning a few things, but also make you fall in love with them.
I am keeping it short and sweet with this review, because you cannot miss from reading this novel. I am keeping my eye out that hopefully we can get a book for Mitch? Seriously, I need his kilt to be taken off by my teeth if I am being honest. Jen DeLuca, you better give us more Mitch action. Because I seriously want him like right now. But overall, this story is heart melting. Make sure to check it out, because you don't want to miss out on it.

WELL MET certainly has a lot going for it. Its characters are charming, the setting is unique, and it's a hell of a lot of fun. It's a book I would recommend to anyone looking for an engaging rom-com in the vein of Sally Thorne. With that said, I wish I had been able to connect to the romance itself more. The pivot moment in which realizations are made and feelings begin to change felt unearned to me and impacted my overall enjoyment. Books like these hinge on the romance and if you're not fully into that aspect, the story as a whole takes a hit. However, I did still get a lot of enjoyment while reading and I suspect that many others will love this one more than I did.

This is a contemporary romance. However, at the 25% mark, I still don’t know for certain who the love interest is. There are two men the protagonist focuses on. One is hot in a kilt, funny, and kind. The other is a jerk. Based on the blurb for the book, I’ve figured out she’ll go for the jerk but I’m not sure I want to stick around for his redemption. She should go for the guy in the kilt. The author made a mistake here by using a likeable-relatable character the reader would want as a foil for who the author chose for the heroine. I’m now at the 35% mark and will not finish. I stopped caring. The author should have given at least one moment of shared interest between hero and heroine early on so the reader is hopeful instead of annoyed.

Emily Parker is starting over. When her sister is in a car accident, Emily moves to Willow Creek to take care of her and her niece. She looking forward to putting a bad break-up out of her head and focusing on reconnecting with her family. When her niece drags her to Renaissance Fair auditions, Emily decides to give it a whirl - after all, she spent a few years working in a bar - she can put on a corset and be a wench for a few weekends this summer. What Emily didn't expect was to fall into Fair life - making friends with her fellow volunteer and starting a fake fair romance with a dashing pirate. But when Emily's relationship with Simon turns a little more real, she's going to have to make some decisions about her future.
If you are looking for a light romance with a Shakespearean twist - try out Well Met. I was pleased with the character development throughout the story. Emily is an engaging character who knows herself. She's very family oriented and willing to stand up for herself - which is a great message for everyone.

I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS MORE THAN FIVE STARS!!
NEW FAVORITE!! I’m still swooning!!!
THANK YOU BERKLEY AND NETGALLEY FOR SENDING ME AND EARLY COPY!!
I have officially been WOOED by Jen Delucas world!! Ahhhhh I just want to go back and reread it!! This book gave me all the warm happy fuzzy butterflies!! I never wanted to put it down, I was captivated and consumed with Simon and Emily’s renaissance romance!!!
This story follows Emily who’s had a really awful breakup as she goes to the small town of Willow Creek to help her sister recover from a bad accident and help take care of her teenage niece. Apart of taking care of her is joining in on the summer renaissance faire and becoming a tavern wench on the weekends. She meets the swoon worthy pirate Captain Blackthorne who she is trying to come to terms with is the same firm English teacher she butted heads with. Ahh these two fall head over heels in love with eachother and it’s developed so PERFECTLY! So much chemistry that it was practically oozing off the page. My stomach was full of butterflies over ever interaction between them, I just couldn’t stop reading I wanted to stay in there world!
I loved Emily and her journey towards realizing her self worth. It’s so important and I felt so deeply for her. I loved her relationship with her sister, and Stacey as well! I loved how supportive they were and how important family was in this book. I loved all the side characters and I’m dying for more of this small town. (Please tell me Mitch and April get a book!!) I loved the bookstore element and the faire element. It was so adorable but I loved how Faire was more than just Faire. For Simon it’s something completely different and deeper and I loved how that was written and watching him grow into himself as an individual.
I’m in love with Simon. Oh my god. That man made my heart swoon and melt. THE QUOTING OF SHAKESPEARE! THE SHARED LOVE FOR ENGLISH! Ahhhh all those book store moments and faire moments! I’m in love! I love history and the renaissance era so putting that into this modern love story I can’t!! I want a Simon!! THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN HIM AND EMILY!! So much steaminess!! This book is filled with everything I love about romance!
I truly can’t speak highly enough about this book. I’m dying to reread it already and I’m so excited for everyone to read this when it comes out in September!!! It’s a new favorite of mine and I can’t wait wait for people to fall in love with Jen Delucas words as I have! I’m so excited to read more from her and I’m crossing my fingers we get more summers at Willow Creeks Renaissance Faire!

"Well Met" is a book that will keep you turning the pages long after you should have turned out the light and hone to bed. The book takes place over a summer during the local Renaissance Faire. The setting creates a dreamy, Shakespearean quality to the whole plot and I fell in love instantly with the cast and setting.

Prepared to be wooed and hear me well, ye fair ladies, folks, and knaves. This contemporary Ren-Faire set romance is going to delight you while tugging at your bodice strings.
I blew up my ARC reading list schedule because Well Met by Jen DeLuca has been at the absolute top of my most anticipated 2019 romances since I saw that cover and read the words "Rom-Com at a Renaissance Fair." When it landed on my eReader I knew I had to read it right away, and it definitlely lived up to my expectations!
Told in 1st Person POV from the perspective of Emily, a twenty-something who's jerk ex-boyfriend just unceremoniously dumped her, despite the fact she dropped out out of college to work and help him get through law school. Now Emily is essentially homeless and therefore totally ready and willing to help out her much older sister, who needs assistance after having her leg shattered in a bad car accident.
One of the tasks Emily ends up with is volunteering with her teenage niece at the local Renaissance Fair, not exactly what Emily had in mind for the summer, but also not something that sounds too terrible. Especially since it seems there will be beer, jousting, and men in kilts! Too bad the fair organizer is such a grump.
As Emily becomes Emma, bar wench, every weekend, she also discovers she's so much more.
Absolutely delightful from so many aspects. The details of the fair, the cast of secondary characters, Emily's relationships with her sister, her niece, and the new friends she makes. Plus, the romance! I won't say much more because I'll let you fall for the guy-liner wearing pirate yourself!
A must read, definitely worth a pre-order!
I received a free copy in exchange for a fair review!

Well Met was so unbelievably fun! I loved every character I was introduced to and was blown away by their chemistry. I particularly enjoyed how these characters learned lessons throughout the whole book instead of just at the end, it felt more natural and made for a more compelling story.

I flew through this Renaissance Faire enemies-to-lovers novel; it's so absolutely charming and engrossing that you won't put it down. I'm in love with these two English scholars turned tavern wench and dastardly pirate and I would willingly read about their encounters forever.

Great characters with good development and chemistry. I loved the unique setting of a Renaissance Fair.

I loved this book! It was so cute and funny! I especially love that the main character was named Emily and worked in a bookstore because that means we're *basically* the same person.

This book was cute. It is a lighthearted and easy read. If you love Shakespeare then this is for you! Both of the main characters wax poetic about all of his works. The story is set against a Renaissance Faire. I so appreciated the insight into all the planning that takes place to execute a faire now, where I have only ever attended as a patron. There is a lot of wooing and even a handfasting and I loved the romance that came naturally in this setting.

Absolutely adorable! Characters felt real and relatable. Plot was fun. The setting was fresh and I can't think why more romances aren't done with this as a backdrop. Who needs weird time-travel plot devices when you can just unlace your bodice and drive home in your air conditioned vehicle at the end of the day? Honestly, I wasn't really feeling the chemistry until the faire started and the love interest got into character, and then it went from meh to YEAH. Or, should I say aye? Anyway, it makes me want to go back to the Ren Faire and make out with a pirate.

I love this book. It's a perfect and sweet contemporary romance.

I didn't know I needed a Renaissance Faire romance, but Jen DeLuca sure did. If you had asked me if I would have enjoyed a romance set in the very niche world of Ren Faires, I would have chuckled in your face and pretended I don't have a secret passion for medieval sport and turkey legs, but Well Met let my true nerd come out and I loved every second of it.
The romance between Emily and Simon is perfection. A slow-burn enemies-to-lovers story is my jam and this fit the bill. It's ingenious really - allowing these characters to hate each other in real life while flirting and charming each other as their medieval alter-egos.
Well Met is refreshing, funny, and Shakespeare lovers will be tickled by many references to the immortal bard scattered throughout the book. The romance was hot and I can already tell this is a book I will be returning to time and time again. I might even hit up a Renaissance Faire this summer...

Emily, after moving in with her sister April and niece Caitlin to help out after her sister's terrible car accident, gets swept into volunteering to help with the local Renaissance Faire. She's a little wary of all the huzzah-ing and bodice, but she's especially of the guy in charge, Simon, who is all frowns and Making Sure Everything Is the Same as Last Year. But, that changes after she meets his Faire person, a pirate captain full of swagger.... Of course, there's Miscommunication near the end to wrap it all up, but the epilogue adds a nice, full-circle touch that usually is too rushed in romances.
Well Met is a fun, quick read with a modern female protagonist, like if Jennifer Cruisie's Temptation setting were mixed with Jasmine Guillory's 21st century female protagonists' sensibilities.
