This book series has a lot of potential. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. Upper elementary and middle school students would like all of the technology aspects of this book. Many readers of this age would be hooked right away. I can see why some adults would not like this series as it is a bit unbelievable and futuristic but I do think readers in the target audience's age group would really like it.

On face value, The Ghost Network sounds cool - 12 year old hackers who come together at a secret school, but it starts off on such an inconceivable spot that the whole story is called into question. Sure, kids are getting smarter, and there are young hackers out there, but hacking security doors at the grocery store to harass the school principal is a bit out there. Many of the book's events would be more believable if the characters were not so young. I can see some of the book's appeal, but not to a general audience. This is not a book that makes me want to read the next installment.

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy.

I appreciate having had an opportunity to read and review this book. The appeal of this particular book was not evident to me, and if I cannot file a generally positive review I prefer simply to advise the publisher to that effect and file no review at all.
