If you’re looking for a fast, engaging, HEA, then Taste the Heat is just the book for you! This story has wonderfully flawed, yet charming characters that bring a special kind of animation to this short, but addictive story. Their lives have endured betrayal and suffering, yet they have chosen to seek happiness through the fallout of a painful past.

Jason is a fabulous hero; he exhibits equal amounts of confidence, courage and has a gentle nature to compliment it all, while Colby is charming and sweet on the surface, as she hides a flawed and damaged soul. And lets not forget Jason's daughter Emma; she is a whirlwind pre-teen who almost steals the show!

I can definitely recommend this book to anyone who reads the New Adult genre (meaning heat rating is low with no explicit sex) and enjoys a sweet story.

Jason and Colby are childhood friends. Jason was the brothers best friend that Colby had a crush on. When they met up years later the chemistry was instant. Now to just get rid of some emotional baggage. This was a quick fun Sunday afternoon read!

Great read, the story of Colby and Jason. He was her brothers friend back in high school and she hasn't seen him in the 12 years since she left town.
She doesn't plan to stay in town, but what started out as a plan for a fling with Jason quickly turns to them questioning if they want more.

Looking forward to the rest of this series.

Jason and Colby grew up together, since he was her brother’s best friend. Colby even had a mad crush on Jason growing up. They meet up again at a charity event at which she is serving as the judge of a cooking competition in which Jason is a competitor. They are instantly attracted to one another, but the widowed Jason and distrustful Colby have a lot of obstacles to get over in order to have a relationship.

The supporting cast includes Jason’s adorable daughter, his parents, and Colby’s brother and sister, all of whom bring added zest to the story. It’s a relatively quick read, but you won’t want to put it down! I loved it!
