Very intense. Edge of seat read. Religious themes but not overwhelming. Would read again.

Serial kidnapper plus stalking crazy ex. I liked that it wasn't until 80%into the book we see the reason her snooty ex wanted his stuff back and her silenced.

I hope that we learn of the kidnapper is found and solved

Who is Tessa? Why is she talking to someone named Henry? Who is Kayla? Where is Tessa from? Where do we currently find her? What is she doing? What heroic thing does she do on her way to work one winter morning that lands her in the news? How was it incredibly stupid? Who are Patrick, Ryan, and Shirley? This book was suspenseful on multiple fronts for various reasons. Now I need to read more books by this author! This was my first book by her!!

Sometimes a single choice can change our lives forever. Tessa may have saved Henry's daughter from a kidnapping but it causes her life to spiral into the deadly sights of the one she's been in hiding from. Now Henry is trying to protect her but trust never comes easy when you've been living life in the shadows. A thrilling story of trust and life.

Rating 4.5/5*

This is an enthralling romantic suspense with a heroine who has escaped an abusive relationship by running away and keeping herself under the radar being thrust into the lime light when she thwarts an attempt to kidnap a young girl, the daughter of Special Agent, Henry Miller who is a widower. This not only introduces her to the girl's father, but also places herself in danger. Dare she trust him with her secrets? Can he keep her safe and catch the serial kidnapper?

This is a story from the Love Inspired series and lives up to that genre. It is a suspense filled, heartwarming romance with well developed characters, plenty of twists and turns and lots of love! The romance is a slow build as Henry and Tessa slowly learn to trust each other and she reveals her secrets. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading further books in this series and by this author in future. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Hmmmm this was kind of a mixed bag for me. I liked the concept and the storyline in general. I just felt it was a bit...lost sometimes and I certainly don't mind characters being religious, I just felt that at times the younger children came over as twee and not very childlike with some of the things they said. But not being religious myself that could just be my own bias.

Tessa has reinvented herself after fleeing her abusive older boyfriend. Now settle in a small town, she lives under the radar. But when she stumbles across the abduction of a young child, she steps in and saves the little one from a horrible fate.

Henry Miller is an FBI agent and widower. He struggles with his career and his young family, relying heavily on family and friends. His latest case becomes deeply personal when a serial child abuser targets his daughter. Now he is left with the perplexing mystery that is Tessa. She is clearly not involved but she IS hiding something and he intends to find out what.

Henry knows she's hiding something, and until she wants to confide in him, all he can do is protect her as she is the lone witness to the attempted kidnapping.

Short, quick-paced read, heavy on Christian faith and a clean Romantic Suspense. There is plenty of action including shootouts, bombs and the like to keep you interested.
