I always love a single dad and nanny romance. This story started off very good, but soon some of these characters became very annoying. Specifically the twin sister veronica. Also it is super unrealistic how easily everyone forgave each other. Your sister slept with and got pregnant by your fiancé and all is forgiven by the end??

I really enjoyed this first book in the Boys of Jackson Harbor series and I wish I had picked it up sooner!

Nic is a runaway bride but with good reason. She just found out that her fiance and twin sister had been seen each other behind her back and that her sister is pregnant. After leaving the church, she ends up in small town of Jackson Harbor where her sister was supposed to start a brand new nanny job. I felt so terrible for everything Nic went through. She had a lot of introspection and growth as the story progressed. I especially liked the times she stood up for herself when faced with grumpy/rude Ethan, and I loved seeing her find herself and addition to finding love.

Ethan has been struggling since his wife's death 3 years prior. He loves his daughter and his family, but is hesitant to let someone else in. There were times I wanted to shake him and say stop being so standoffish or a jerk to other people around you. However, he really is a good guy overall. He just needed to open up emotionally and I liked seeing him share more of himself with Nic.

The story moves at a good pace and introduces a whole host of characters. I can't wait to read more about. Ethan's siblings were especially fun and I am already seeing the hints of future romances here. I can't wait to read more of the series!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.

I love Lexi Ryan and I absolutely LOVED this book.

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley. I thought this was a cute love story but it also had some triggering subject matter such as depression and suicide as well as others so be aware of that going in. I don't have personal experience with the topics that are handled in this book but I think they were handled well but I would definitely suggest you read own voices reviews. As I said this was a cute love story. We have Ethan who is a single father and then there's Nicole who has been dealt one shit hand after another. After her most recent devastation she flees to a small town and she begins to find herself. I guess you would say this is a grumpy sunshine romance however Nicole deals with depression so it's not always sunshine and rainbows. I loved the kid in this book. Her name was Lilly and I believe she was 6. She just added more to the story. It was cute with a little bit of steam and it was slow burn. I do have to say that Nicole forgave her sister way to easily. I mean they never really sat down and had a conversation about what happened and the sister never really gave a heartfelt apology and yet they all went on like nothing ever happened. I definitely want to continue on with this series because I want more of the Jackson boys.

Oh man, this story was a real trip! Anything you couldn’t imagine to except, did, these characters were a blast despite it all and this story was really enjoyable til the very end.

Her wedding should have been a day she dreamed of and not a total nightmare. Nic always wanted a family and was about to get it until one little event changed everything. Taking her sister’s place was easy. She had done it numerous times before growing up. Benefits of being a twin. Until she meets the man who makes her feel alive and the worst part is he is her new boss. A story of healing, confronting the past, and hoping for a brighter future.

This book had me stressing.

This type of stories are my guilty pleasure but this one is definitely not. I was so stressed with the characters, especially Nicole and Ethan.

I mean I don't mind having those wattpad-ish tropes or cliches as long as they are good and I enjoy them but this one I didn't.

I don't recommend this one (sorry).

Every now and then I need to cleanse my reading palette with a book just like this. The Wrong Kind of Love is my first Lexi Ryan read and I was in to everything she was doing. Fun, sexy and packed with all that good drama, this book is an easy read that as a great contemporary romance at its core. 4 stars.

This isn't the first book of this premise that I've read, but it's definitely one of the top ones.
After Nicole finds out her sister is pregnant because of her fiance, she runs to Grand Rapids. Michigan, and takes her sisters place as the nanny to the widower, Ethan.
Ethan was... interesting. I think I might have enjoyed it more if he'd been more consistent as a character, but I do like the way he was able to work through his grief, and find people to support him.

Okay, seriously. I only have one complaint about this book, but its a pretty major one. It's so hard to read with tears in your eyes! It was impossible to not get emotionally invested in the Jackson family (also my maiden name, we have a family business, etc.) Good grief Nic is hurt for obvious reasons and Ethan is so damaged. Plus the rest of the family...
I absolutely cannot wait for the next story!

Nicole finds out her twin sister is pregnant with her fiance's baby on the supposed day of her wedding. She ends up running away and pretending to be her sister so she can take over the nanny job for a six year old girl. She meets a stranger that she has a one night stand with on what was supposed to be her honeymoon night. A shock is in store when she finds out Ethan the doctor is also her boss and the stranger she hooked up with last night. Ethan is a single father and has had his share of heartache. Nicole makes him feel something he never expected to feel for anyone again. Can the couple overcome the past to have a future?

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

First in the Jackson Harbour series, this is a very good read. The story of Nic and Ethan is one which goes through lot of ups and downs. Both with baggage from past, unwilling to trust and look forward fights the life battle in their own ways. Ethan with a pack of meddling siblings and Nic with a selfish twin struggles to find true love and realize it.

A very good read.

Looking forward to the stories of Jackson tribe

3 1/2 stars
This is the first book in a series that begins with a bang, but then seems to fade out a bit. Nicole (Nic) is set to be married to the man she believes to be her match, but when she hears him talking to what she assumes is another woman (that he can't stop thinking about her), she is shocked. When her twin sister Veronica pukes all over her wedding bouquet, she discovers that she has been betrayed as it is revealed that her sister is pregnant by her almost husband. Disgusted and angry, Nic flees, though in the process, she accidentally grabs her sister's purse and decides to use the plane ticket to where her sister was headed. When she gets there, she hits a bar and meets a gorgeous man who takes her mind off of her troubles for at least a little while. And when Nic decides to stick around town a little longer and needs a job, she finds one... as a nanny to a single father doctor - who happens to be the hottie she hooked up with at the bar her first night in town. Will they give it a go, and if so, can Nic find it within herself to trust again after all she has been through?

Why why why have I waited so long to read this! Lexi Ryan is a new author to me and after devouring this book in a day (including staying up till 2am on school run day) I will definatley be reading more by her.
Nicole is about to have a happiest day of her life, her wedding day, but it soon turns into a nightmare when she finds out at the altar that her twin is pregnant with her fiancé's baby! Wanting to escapes the whispers and the gossip Nicole grabs her bag and heads to the airport intent to escape but when she gets there she discovers she has got her sisters bag and her plane tickets to a new place. When she arrives in Jackson Harbour she meets a handsome stranger and is hoping he can make her forget the past 24hrs. Roll on the following day and turns out sexy stranger is her new boss as she's taken her twins jobs to help her out while she goes in Nicole's honeymoon and so begins our story with Nicole and Ethan.
This story was just one big roller-coaster of emotions full of angst, sexual tension, comedy and drama. Loves the chemistry between the 2 of them, they try so hard to fight the way they feel due to past experiences. The subject of mental health was done tastefully and I'm glad more authors are writing about it and making it the norm now and something that shouldn't be hidden away. Over all a brilliant book and I can't wait to read more about the Jackson Harbour boys and girls.

Book Review- The Wrong Kind of Love by Lexi Ryin

This book starts horribly for Nicole. I’m a bit shell shocked just reading it. I could not even fathom it in a real life situation. I love how the author has her go to Michigan instead of her sister. I probably would have done the same thing. Meeting Ethan was interesting. A crowded bar and some liquid comfort. I liked Ethan at first. He was a nice guy until Nicole started her job.
I was annoyed with this story. First the main character has lost pretty much everything, then she is asked to keep some big secrets. The author also made sure that Nicole felt the presence of Ethan’s late wife everywhere. It was at times hard to read while everyone rolled in their guilt and fear. I was disappointed that neither main character seemed strong enough to stand up for herself or move beyond the past.
I did like the storyline, how Nicole meets Ethan and his family, how she does her job and fits in. I like how caring she is and thinks about how others would feel. Ethan doesn’t have a chance. It took him a long time to figure things out which drove me crazy.
The author created this interesting scenario especially when the truth comes out. Ethan really made things difficult and some major groveling was in order. The ending was what I expected which made me happy. I liked the story overall. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I received the ARC from NetGalley before I realized that I'd read this already.

I enjoyed this. Apparently, I have a thing for the twin switch trope.

The tension was crazy good and I really appreciated how Ryan handled the issue with the sister.

Wow, this was my first Lexi Ryan book and I am impressed. I really loved the world she built and the characters she created. I loved getting to know Ethan and Nic and I will definitely be adding the rest of this series to my list.

This story is centered around Nic, a woman who is basically stood up on her wedding day because her sister is pregnant with her fiance’s baby. Nic quickly leaves town to escape the drama and finds herself in a completely new town with its own charms and an opportunity to get to know herself again.

The second storyline is centered around Ethan, a doctor who is managing being a single parent with a busy work schedule and a large family who also runs a family business. Ethan has a lot on his plate and a past he’d rather forget.

I completely devoured this book. I really liked how the romance was a slow burn, it had a quick flame in the beginning and almost immediately became complicated. I really enjoyed seeing Ethan and his family as well as Nic and Ethan developing their own personalities along with their romance.

The end did feel a little rushed, I was about 75% through and wondering how things were going to wrap up, but the end did the story justice and was satisfying. The epilogue did well to fill me in on how things were going while teasing the next story, which was perfect because I can’t get enough of this world.

There are some steamy sex scenes but I appreciated how they fit into the story overall and it didn’t feel like they were there just so there was sex. Both characters talk about how they feel, try to check in with each other, and work through their feelings which makes the relationship feel well rounded and mature.

Nic is Walking down the aisle only to discover that her identical twin sister is pregnant with her groom’s baby. How can’t this be her life? So, she takes on her sister’s identity and trials to Jackson Harbor to be a nanny. When she gets there, she goes to the bar and meets a sexy brooding stranger that fate puts I her path. Can lies be the foundation to the life she wants? Lexi Ryan has captured our hearts with the boys of Jackson Harbor!

This book did a great job of showing emotion on both sides. I was laughing and crying multiple times in this book. It was an alternating first person between Nic and Ethan.

Due to extenuating circumstances, Nic has to lie and say she’s her sister Victoria and is very uncomfortable with this since she has feelings for Ethan. she’s tired of trying so hard to be accepted and loved and is always changing herself to try and hold onto that love. She’s ready for a chance to find out who she really is and this lie is clawing at her insides.

Ethan lost his wife and hasn’t opened himself up to anything but sex. When he sees Nic in the bar, she starts a crack that may eventually open him back up to love again. We have to see if the lie comes out, or if Nic will leave before that happens. Will love overcome all?
