The Wrong Kind of Love was a very engaging story with spectacular character development. I felt so invested in the story of Nic and Ethan and his cute little daughter that I didn’t want to put the book down. I loved the banter between Ethan and his siblings, making me anxious to read their stories of love too! My only negative comment would be that the climax felt too scripted and with too much foreshadowing. It didn’t seem plausible that Nic, who hates lying, wouldn’t realize that she could stay as the nanny once she was able to come clean. She acted like the lie would be forever which didn’t make sense.

3.75/5

This was the first book of the Boys of Jackson Harbor series and I thought it was an ok story. Nicola runs to Jackson Harbor after she finds out that her sister is pregnant with her fiancé’s baby. Due to mistaken identity she ends up working for Ethan Jackson as his nanny. I loved the push and pull of the characters and the road they have to take while dealing with their issues to get the HEA they both deserve.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I haven’t read many books by Lexi but this book makes me want to read more of her books.
In this book we have Nicole and Ethan. Ethan is an OB/GYN. Nicole is unemployed and running from her former life.
Nicole discovers on her wedding day that her fiancé has been cheating and his mistress is pregnant. But with who? You will have to read to find out. It’s not who someone’s first guess would be. Ethan is living one day to the next with his daughter. Nicole needs to have a job to be able to survive so she takes a nanny position based on different lies. Ethan is smitten with her as she is with him. But once the truth starts coming out can they survive?
Lexi is one of my new favorite authors. This book will be book one of a multiple book series. It contains love, loss and deceit by the ones they love. Will it have a happy ending? You must read to find out.

Nicole has waited for her special day all her life. She is about to get married to the man of her dreams but there is something nagging her at the back of her mind. Of course, it's all confirmed when her twin sister admits she slept with her fiance who she was trying to stay celibate for and is now pregnant with his baby. Suddenly she accepts the truth she has been trying to hide from herself- her fiance and sister deserve on another... Attempting to escape the chaos of her life, she takes her sister's flight to a new place that offers exactly what she needs... a new job and a new place she can start over. Her first night there she gets drunk and has a great one-night stand with a new man to capture some semblance of happiness, even if it's just for one night. Little does she know, at the time, he's also her new employer...

I really love the twin scenario books- I think it reminds me of my childhood of watching the Parent Trap. It just never gets old! I would recommend this book for anyone who wants to read a romance with all the family drama tied in. This made me laugh several times and it was totally relatable because sometimes life is messy and confusing with all the good in between it. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #NetGalley

This is the first book in the Boys of Jackson Harbor series, but the second that I've read. I actually started with the last in the series, but that really didn't matter. I really enjoyed both this first book and the one I've already read and reading them out of order, doesn't really matter.
This story is about Nic and Ethan. Ethan lost his wife three years earlier and no longer wants to have any kind of relationship with a woman. When he meets Nic, he finds himself drawn to her and they can't resist one another. When they find out that Nic is to be his daughter's nanny, things get a little awkward.
The storyline deals not only with a growing romance but also the question of depression and mental health. In many ways, Nic and Ethan are perhaps not ideally suited, but the way that the story unfolds and their relationship grows, it becomes clear that they are in fact, perfect for one another.
I really liked Ethan and Nic as a couple. The sexual tension between them was really well done and then when they finally worked things out, it worked really well. I'm always a little bit worried about how a child is dealt with in this kind of book, but how the couple interacted with Lilly worked really well.
Having read two books from the Boys of Jackson Harbor series, I'm really keen now to go and read the rest.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was my first Lexi Ryan book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lexi Ryan writes well, has good plot and character development, and keeps the reader engaged.

This is a one-night stand turns out to be the new boss story. Yes, Nicole gets caught in the middle of family drama/secrets and Ethan spends so much time trying to protect himself that he loses sight of the woman he knows is better than what he thinks, but it all works out in the end.

Nicole's development into a more self-confident woman is great to read. And this family sure does have lots of drama - hope we get to read more about them.

This was a great introduction to a new author for me. The writing was well done, the characters were well developed. My favorite part was the storyline that I did feel I could find fault in was made plausible by the author. She actually predicted what the issues would be to the reader and persuaded me to be “ok” with it. I love when an author realizes the perception of the reader and goes the extra step.
Ethan and Nic are fire from the day they meet and watching them avoid the spark between them was entertaining. Lilly was a fantastic addition to the story as well. Something about the open hearted way and acceptance of a child always seems to get to me. The whole Jackson family is introduced in a way to set up future books. Overall the book was an intriguing story that had me coming back for more

3.5 Stars Great Story!

This is the first book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series, and the story of Ethan, and Nicole. This was an emotional story, both Ethan, and Nicole had been hurt, and they didn't know who they could trust. I really enjoyed reading the journey these two had. The characters are well written, and they have great chemistry. This book was steamy, passionate, intense, and funny.

Beginning of a new series, The Boys of Jackson Harbor, and I think I will be returning for several visits. Lexi Ryan always writes us a good, romantic story. Some of her characters have flaws, just like we all do, and I enjoy reading about how they redeem themselves.

Nicole finds out at her wedding that her sister has been having an affair with her fiancee. Not only that, she is pregnant with his baby. So Nicole takes off. She just needs to get away. Fortunately, her sister had planned to leave and take a nanny job to end the relationship. So Nicole takes her place. There she meets the right man and falls into the right kind of Love.

Ethan was in a very bad place. He lost his wife, was raising his daughter \with help from his mother, who had a very sudden trip planned and required bringing in outside help.

This is a simple story on the surface but deep emotions drive the characters. Betrayal, sickness, parenting…all issues that have no cookie cutter answers. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the brothers.

ARC received for review

It was good and Ethan has some seriously HOT brothers, but he was a grade a douche-bag. Then there was the whole drama between Nicole and Veronica. Sorry, she forgave her way too quick and easily.

I enjoyed reading this book very much! Even though the predictability of this story would usually annoy me very much, it was okay in this case because the story was just that good. The sexual tension between Ethan and Nic was off the charts hot and even though the hero behaved like a jerk sometimes, I actually really liked it. It just added to their attraction somehow. 4 stars because the heroine let herself being walked all over by her twin sister.

Sweet romance between Nic and Ethan. Nic finds out on her wedding day that her sister and fiance have been cheating on her. Nic takes her sister's place as a live in nanny with Ethan and his daughter Lily.

Lots of expected components typical to this type of story. Nic and Ethan meet and have insta-attraction. Nic doesn't realize that Ethan will be her new boss. Some sexy times ensue.

Ryan writes believable characters. Both Ethan and Nic have to overcome some baggage and do so in a low-key, less angsty sort of way. Ryan does a nice job dealing with forgiving one's self and mental health issues.

Definitely continuing with the series.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This one was perfectly fine and enjoyable. The characters didn't have a ton of depth, and this was definitely more of a sexy and steamy romance, rather than one filled with tons of substance and fun relationship build up. I didn't LOVE all of the sexy scenes, but there were definitely parts that I did find really entertaining and super exciting. All together this was an enjoyable book, but not a favorite.

Such a good story!

I want to read this one over and over again. This was my first book by the author and I'm kicking myself for it. I need more of the magnificent writing and remarkable stories.

I quickly fell in love with the characters. My heart breaks for what Nic had to go through but it only demonstrated how fierce she is. I love her growth throughout the story, I love reading about her self discovery and her continuous fight to get past her struggles and the upcoming  issues she has to deal with.  She is worthy of admiration. I love her strength, her kindness and her good heart. She shines so bright and Ethan, of course, couldn't help but give her his heart. He doesn't stay behind, he is an amazing father, caring, sweet and fun. I loved reading about the development of their relationship. With every turn of the pages you could feel how they were opening up to the other, how their connection grew deeper and more meaningful. I absolutely loved the build up in their relationship.

Sweet, emotional and heartfelt.

I love Lexi's books, I this story is really great, but several weeks after finishing the book, I still can't give it more than 3.5 stars…

Don't get me wrong.

I love Nic and Ethan's story, but there were too much forgiveness here, especially towards her twin sister, and that really ruined the book for me.

I just couldn't "undo" her betrayal (and the consequences of it) in my head, I couldn't past through it...

I guess I'll have to give a chance to the rest of the series. Maybe there is a love story waiting for her selfish sister?......

The Wrong Kind of Love was the wrong book for me. On one hand, the author has an easy enjoyable style. One the other hand, I hated her characters and the story she told. Her characters weren’t just flawed, they were downright unlikable. I found the heroine’s ability to forgive people as frustrating as it is ridiculous. You’re telling me she had a heart to heart with her sister and forgives her after she slept with the heroine’s fiance? I just can’t wrap my mind around it but maybe because I respect myself more. I would like to say I am a “bigger person than that,” but I honestly don’t think she was a better person for it. But that seems to be the theme with all the characters in this novel. Whether it’s cheating, being a doormat, or just plain being a jerk, most of the characters had a least one trait that made the unlikeable.

This could have been made up by a great plot, character development, or well-written erotic scenes, but nothing really stood out. There was little if any development, the erotic scenes were good but nothing earth shattering, and the plot was unremarkable.

Overall, I would say the author does have talent in telling a story and telling it well with her smooth, uncomplicated style. However, I just didn’t enjoy the story and the characters in it.

3.5 stars.

This is my first time reading this author. I liked the big family and all of those characters. Ethan wasn’t bad and Nic was certainly something. Girlfriend is really hard on herself and she did have a pretty crappy past. Her twin sister is an ahole and in my own opinion, Nic forgave her way too soon. Besides all that drama, it was an okay read for me.
