This is one of my go-to authors. It was a fun story with likeable characters. The relationship the sisters had was not totally realistic to me, but overall this was a good story and left me wanting to read the rest of the series.

When I initially picked up this book, I had expected some cheesy erotica series filled with bad writing, instant love, unnecessary family drama and annoying characters yet I was surprised it only fell in the instant love category. (Come on! Three weeks to fall in love?! I think not!) Lexi Ryan was able to draw me in with her well executed writing style and the realistic characters who dealt with betrayal, heartbreak, depression and suicide. Many other factors that were contributed made this a excellent read and I was pleasantly surprised the author was able to easily factor them all into the story without ruining the premise nor flow of what was happening. Hands down a must read from Lexi Ryan. I look forward to reading the remaining books of the series and getting the oh-so-steamy doses of the Jackson brothers (and let's hope Shay down the line)!

This is a romantic and sexy book. I've enjoyed it a lot, but I've had some objetions to certain behaviors of the characters.
Mainly I did not understand how Nic could forgive her twin sister. She betrayed her in a very hard way and I think the autor softens the situation, because of that it seems less real.
The love relationship between both protagonists keeps on well the sexual tensión and bed scenes are erotic and so much hot.
Although there is insta love just when the two of them had sex, this is a thing that did not bother me.
The secondary characters are good defined. I specially liked the child, Lily, because she is an adorable girl. She brings many sweets moments throughout the whole story.
Regarding the end, I thought it was precipitate. I would have liked an ending more focused on them.
In general it has been a beautiful story and I want to continue this series.

Poor Nicole! She really got the short end of the stick when it comes to family. And the one time she decides to act out of character, it backfires in a big way. Initially anyway. Dr. Ethan Jackson is a one night encounter that pops back up as her boss. Nic doesn't WANT to lie, buts gets caught in the middle of some family secrets. And there are so many secrets. Ethan acts like a jerk to try to protect himself and Nic is rightfully offended. I like how she started out as the unsure one but became more confident, while Ethan was the one who was rattled by her presence.
What started out as a disaster ended up being the best thing to happen to them both. Just missed 5 stars though. I don't get how easily Nic forgave Veronica. Sure Marcus was horrible, but Veronica still did what she did. I almost felt like she wanted Nic to thank her for it. Looking forward to reading more about the Jackson clan!

I thoroughly loved reading the amazing first book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series. When Nicole finds out on her wedding day her groom to be has gotten her twin sister, Veronica, pregnant, Nicole leaves town and takes Veronica's place as a nanny. When Nicole is asked by the son's grandmother to pretend to be Veronica, Nicole has no idea who her employer is, Ethan. As Nicole and Ethan work together, they discover their feelings and attraction for each other becoming harder and harder to avoid. Read the highly recommended and wonderfully written must read love story.
I reviewed a copy through NetGalley.

The Wrong Kind of Love kicks off the Jackson Harbor series, and introduces the Jackson brothers and sister. I am drawn to series that feature family members and small towns. Lexi Ryan has launched the premise of a sexy, smart, entertaining series. I think the story suffered a bit from being combines with the series launch, The hero and heroine were not as complex a character as I would have liked, and I didnt get enough character growth from them. the story was entertaining. The intimate scenes were passionate and well placed. Ms Ryan writes crisp dialogue and inserts appropriate humor. Her secondary characters are really strong, and I think the subsequent books will be entertaining as well. I look forward to the series.
I received my copy through NetGalley and am under no obligation to the publisher.

I always enjoy reading a Lexi Ryan novel. This one did not disappoint. Great writing and a great romance. I would recommend it!

A little more drama rama than I usually go for, but in spite of that I enjoyed this.

She decides to stand in for her twin sister as a way of starting afresh after a huge betrayal. He's a hot doc with a cute daughter and several cupboards full of emotional - as well as literal - baggage that needed sorting through.

There's a good old enemies to lovers thing going on with some excellent tension, but of course we have the jeopardy of her big old lie hanging over much of the story. I cannot lie, that kind of irritated me for it was a situation where being caught out in a lie was much worse than simply coming clean. I digress.

It's a complete story and he has several equally hot brothers plus a sister so plenty more to come. Where on earth would authors be if hot protagonists were only children eh?

Recommended.

Nic and her twin Veronica go through many hardships in their lives, but nothing worse than your sister sleeping with your fiance and becoming pregnant. To add more insult to injury you end up covering for her at her "new job" as a nanny. A new town, a new start, and a new job sounds great after all Nic has been through, but then she meets Ethan and is totally unprepared for what her future holds.

Great, fast paced read that makes you want to read more in the series.

Unfortunately, this was not a win for me. I appreciate the author and her work, yet the woman in this story was someone I could not identify with. So this was something that did not work... too much of a doormat- and even though she is willing to admit it...I feel you have to do more after that.

I would say this is actually 4.5 stars.

The Wrong Kind of Love is about Nic, a girl who just can't catch a break. On her wedding day she finds out that her identical twin is pregnant by her soon to be husband. She then decides to go on her Bahamas honeymoon alone only to discover at the airport that she has her sister's purse. With a first class ticket, she flys away from a horrible situation and into a mysterious stranger's arms.

This was a fantastic read. The only reason this book didn't get a full 5 stars was due to the fact that it didn't really do anything unexpected from the romance genre. That being said I loved the story and most of all the characters. I cared what Nic was going through and what she was trying to process with her sister's actions. Lexi Ryan did an excellent job making you feel what the Nic was feeling.

This book is the first in a series but can definitely be a stand alone novel.

THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE is the first instalment in Lexi Ryan’s contemporary, adult THE BOYS OF JACKSON HARBOR erotic, romance series focusing on the Jackson siblings. This is thirty-three year old, single father Dr. Ethan Jackson, and twenty-four year old, nanny Nicole ‘Nic’ Maddox’s story line

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nic and Ethan ) THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE follows Nicole Maddox in the wake of the wedding that never happened. Discovering, on the day of her wedding, that her fiancé knocked up her twin sister Veronica, Alabama born and bred Nicole Maddox heads to places unknown only to land in Grand Rapids, Michigan with her sister’s ID, and a job as a nanny to a widowed doctor. But an almost one-night stand finds our heroine face to face with her new employer, a man who isn’t happy about what might have been. What ensues is the tempestuous relationship and building romance between Nic and Ethan, and the potential fall-out as Nic keeps secret her true identity to help a woman who is struggling to move forward with her life.

Nicole Maddox is struggling for some direction in life but with the loss of her fiancé, her future and potentially her twin sister, Nicole accepts the position as nanny to a six year old girl, a precious child who is unaware of the animosity between her father and our heroine. Dr. Ethan Jackson struggles with issues of trust including the betrayal by the woman with whom he was once in love. When his mother announces a bucket list vacation, our hero is desperate for child care and accepts his mother’s help in hiring the nanny with whom he will fall in love.

The relationship between Nic and Ethan begins as an almost one-night stand but Ethan is quick to judgement when he discovers that his daughter’s new nanny is the woman he found drunk at his brother’s bar. Unable to look beyond the heart break and pain of Nicole’s shattered heart, Ethan places an end date of their personal and professional relationship. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate but I take issue with the use of a certain four-letter word, regardless of the situation or context involved.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Nicole’s sister Veronica; her ex-fiance Marcus; Nic and Veronica’s friend Teagan Chopra : Ethan’s daughter Lily; his sister Shay, and their brothers Jake, Levi, Brayden, Carter, their mother Kathleen Jackson and bartender Ava. Ethan’s brothers are easy going and fun. Ava and Jake’s story is next.

THE WRONG KIND OF LOVE is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and love that introduces the Jackson family of Jackson Harbor, Michigan. The premise is fast paced, entertaining and heart breaking; the characters are energetic and charismatic; the romance is seductive and hot.

This was a good read. I appreciated that Lexi Ryan put a new twist on the runaway bride theme. Nic and Ethan's story is wonderful. I found myself immersed in their world, and loving every minute of it. There were some heart wrenching elements that made the resolution all the sweeter. Great storytelling.

The Wrong Kind of Love, by Lexi Ryan, had me hooked just from the blurb.
Nicole aka "Nic" meets Ethan while she is drowning her sorrows at a bar, because her twin sister revealed that she was pregnant, with Nic's fiancee's baby on their wedding day.

Ethan was dealing with the death of his wife and was closed off to the idea of love. During this time, his focus was on work, family, and his daughter.

Chemistry: 5/5; Quick Read; I highly recommend!

I enjoyed this read quite a bit. The heroin finds love in an unexpected situation. Ah, Ethan you kind of love to hate him at first. He does redeem himself in the end. This was my first book by this author and I’m definitely going to check out the rest of her books.

This is the story of Ethan and Nicole. Ethan is one of the Jackson brothers, doctor and single dad for the past 3 years after losing his wife. Nic is about to get married when the day of her wedding she finds out that her twin sister is pregnant by her fiancé.

Nic acts impulsively and she runs away, but when she reaches the airport she realizes that she carries her twin's bag and not hers and she does the unthinkable of getting into her sister's flight and flying to Grand Rapids, Michigan, taking her place as nanny in the Jackson's family.

However things will get complicated as on her first night in the town she will hook up with a stranger and a series of lies will get Nic in an awkward situation. Can love survive all?

A really enjoyable fast paced story with turn-arounds that you will find fun to read on a lazy afternoon. And let me just say.. not the romantic nanny story you would expect.. :)

Moreover, the author kicks off nicely the setup of Grand Rapids, its residents and of course the main characters, the Jackson family. Towards the end she hooks us with a hint for the story of Ava and Jake and how wheels are moving for them.

Nice start for a book series.

I think this was my first read by this author and I went in blind.

This was a great read and I immediately liked Nic and Ethan, they had lots of chemistry.

Of course there had to be the revelation towards the end with all the secrets, but I’m glad this was all sorted out in the end.

I received this ebook copy from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

This book will have you laughing out loud from the start. But then you will need to grab your tissues. Nic because the runaway bride at the alter when she finds out that her twin has been sleeping with her fiancé. The two have been know to switch lives so Nic jumps on her sisters flight and fills in to be the nanny. Nic wants to come clean with Ethan but just doesn't know when the best time would be. Nic is falling in love with Ethan's daughter and his family. She is finally feeling like she belongs. After being raised in foster care she has never felt the sense of belonging. I can't wait for the rest of the series to find out who the brothers end up with. Thank you Lexi Ryan for allowing me the opportunity to review this book.

This was my first book by this author and I confess I did read some reviews before I started it. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. There was such a connection between Ethan and Nic that you could feel it coming off the pages. Yes, Ethan was a jerk a lot of the time, but he was also a mess. It was nice to see Nic coming into her own and standing up for herself. The one thing I really didn’t care for was her sister and how quickly she accepted her back into her life. I get it is her twin and all she has, but literally there was no hesitation. It made me a little sick. I really liked this book though and will for sure be reading more of this series.
