This book make me very uncomfortable and was just not for me. I am sure someone else would enjoy it, but I sadly just could not.

If you are looking for something with a hunger games vibe this is it, just add in some >read a lot< of smut.

The premise of the book was decent, there is a lot the author could have done. But often times it felt rushed and jumpy. I'm not sure if I'll pick up book 2, but it isn't completely out of the question.

I really wanted to like this book, but it was terrible! I couldn’t even finish it. The idea for the book had legs. The characters were likable. It was poorly executed.

I just loved this book. It was so easy to get lost in and I just loved meeting these characters. I look forward to seeing what’s next from this author.

This book seemed really interesting but I didn’t get a chance to download it before time ran out! Definitely plan to read in the future!

i never ended up downloading this but i picked it up recently, so i figured I'd also review it here!

This was interesting. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a real plot with multi-layered characters instead of a series of meaningless sex scenes. The description of the environment painted a vivid picture of the tower in my head.
Not usually a fan of alien type books but this one is worth reading. I might look into getting the rest of the series.

4/5 stars

POV: Damon and Melody
Pacing: Quick and easy read
Steam: Instant attraction, good chemistry, wide open door erotica

Overall
This sci-fi romance was the super steamy, action packed, tournament with 'Hunger Games' feels I never knew I needed! I really enjoyed the chemistry right from the start between Damon and Melody. Damon, a prince in disguise, enters the tournament to face a sworn enemy and Melody is one of the virgins in the hunt. The challenges and danger in the tournament with sexy scenes mixed in made this story a super fast, entertaining read. I enjoyed seeing how the characters escaped each danger they faced along the way. The romance part of the story is filled with good sexual chemistry and multiple erotic scenes between Damon and Melody as well as other participants occasionally. Overall, if you're looking for a read with a variety of sex scenes, good chemistry, romantic suspense and an interesting backstory then I would definitely recommend this story! I really enjoyed the start to this new series and can't wait to read more from this author.

*Thank you so much to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this digital ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Survial, sex, and betrayal in this reality fantasy adventure experience.

If you love steamy erotic sci-fi then this book is for you. Not for the faint of heart as there is a heavy balance
of scorch and descriptive scenes when characters are fighting for the prize.

Happy Reading

4 out of 5 stars. This novel was a mixture of what I expected and what I had not expected. Also, even though I had not read the Hunger Games series I had watched the movie versions and can definitely say that this novel felt like an adult sexualized version of the Hunger Games – game-wise only as there was no similar plots – with a Cinderellaesque twist to it. THIS NOVEL WAS SOOOOOOOOOO HOT!!! Yet, there were a lot of situations I can see a lot of people not enjoying about this novel. So, if you can overlook those issues and want to just enjoy a REALLY SMUTTY sci-fi romance to read this would be the novel for you!

Thankfully I really liked the main characters – Damon and Melody ... along with their two “true” friends that they made along the way. Though sex IS the name of their game in this novel ... I found that Damon and Melody showed a lot of depth, heart, and character growth throughout this novel. Plus, the “instant feelings” that Damon and Melody feel for one another sound like the “mate attraction” (even though it is never truly stated that way) to me ... which made this whole relationship between them something that hooked me from the beginning. They were simply made for one another.

However, I just wish the ending was more/had more. More Damon and Melody. More information. More chapters of explanation. More.

Nevertheless, if you are one who enjoys erotic science fiction romance with a Hunger Games / Cinderella twists, then this is the novel for you!

After one has experienced the love and obsession of The Hunger Games there is always the constant hunger for something to fill the void the end of the series brought about. I was one of those kids who worshipped the series almost as much as the Harry Potter series and went into a terrible book hangover when finishing it. After reading the synopsis I wondered if this would be the adult romance version of the beloved series I longed to recapture the feeling of. I was intrigued by the premise and hoped for the best.

Damon had one goal and that was to kill the man who killed his father. As that is not particularly legal in normal life situations finding out his enemy had entered the Virgin Hunt Games was his chance for revenge. Then his gaze meets Melody's and his determination falters. Now he must struggle with the choice between protecting Melody and revenge. Finding out that the best to infuriate his enemy is by sleeping with Melody makes her even more enticing. But if he had to actually make a choice between the two what would he choose: restoring his father's honor and making his kingdom proud or saving the woman who has stolen his heart?

Melody's family is chronically poor to the point where she's willing to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. To ensure racking up enough credits to save them from poverty, she's more than happy to sleep with Damon to start the ball rolling. But once she sleeps with him once can either of them let each other go to pursue their other desires?

There is not a lot of substance to the story. While trying to describe the book to my husband he was thoroughly confused. It seems a bit too complicated and also seemed to focus on the women sleeping around while men are supposed to be loyal to their mate. There was sex, it seems, every single page of the book. I understand it's an erotica but... there is a line between erotica and literary porn. This was more the latter. Don't get me wrong, Damon and Melody were likeable characters, but the games aspect seemed secondary to them just get naked every second of every day.

Also... there were some aspects that blatantly ripped of The Hunger Games... For example, in the Hunger Games they had the infamous Tracker Jackers. In this book they had Barbed Jack Beetles who would use electrified stingers to stink a person to death before laying their eggs in the dead body. So a more grotesque version of Tracker Jackers. In the Hunger Games Peeta is injured and is then nursed back to heath... Damon, same. I wanted a book that was similar to the Hunger Games not something seemed more like a pornographic fanfiction of the well known series.

However, always a small ray of sunshine in a stormy sky, I was intrigued to see what the future held for the couple being as Damon was a prince and that would, in itself, lead to some issues with having a commoner princess. I will probably read the next book in the series out of morbid curiosity but I can't say I was blown away by this book. I see what the author tried to do there but, in my personal opinion, the sex scenes need to be pulled back a bit to keep it from being literary porn and the games themselves need to be a bit revamped so they weren't a faded photocopy of The Hunger Games.

This book it was not exactly how I imagined it or what I expected that the story is going to be. I really like it. There’s action scene, there’s romance scene. I also fascinated that the author has a very creative way descibing the scenes. The side characters are interesting, the story is fast-paced and intriguing. Bonds are formed between lovers and friends. I absolutely loved the ending.
I got much more than I expected. Since the ending didn’t have cliffhanger so I am excited to read the second book. Will there be more Damon and Melody?

I was given an e-ARC via @NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a bit outside of my comfort zone, but I can’t say I expected much different from the title and synopsis. I found it too intriguing of a story to not give it a shot. It’s definitely more erotica than sci-fi/paranormal romance, but there was also still a storyline to follow rather than just completely gratuitous sex. Overall, I enjoyed it well enough, but it’s not for the faint of heart.

I didn't enjoy this title. I couldn't get into it at all. I want to be drawn into the story and this did not do that. The character development was lacking. As was the world building. If you are going to write science fiction, you have to create a world that the reader cares about. I found myself skimming and skipping around trying to become interested, but it just never happened.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) for my honest review.

This book was interesting. It had a Hunger games vibe with the addition of spicy kinky sex.

Melody goes into the games to earn as many credits as she can to send home to her family and help them put food on the table. Damon goes in wanting revenge for his father's death and to win back his people.

Some of the things I didn't like about the story were the aliens. I don't normally read things with aliens so I ended up just pretending they were all human. There were some clichés in the book that made me giggle. There were also some confusing things. The year is 2324 but not everyone has a tv in their home? It's 2021 and most homes have at least 1 - 2 televisions in their homes. The timeline also threw me. The first three days are pretty well documented but then it's like all of a sudden it's day 7 and they are freed from the tower. The rules of the games aren't spelled out for the reader clearly and the prize for the winner of the games isn't specified. I wish there were just a few more clarifications from the author on the game.

Reading others' reviews I need to add some trigger warnings. There is a significant amount of sexual content but there is also a lot of death and eluded to rape. This book is not for the timid.

I would definitely recommend to someone who likes Sci-Fi, dystopian, fantasy, and erotica. It was good and I can't wait for the other two books in the series. It came full circle and had a satisfying ending so I'm not sure what the other two books will have in store but I will definitely be reading.

This style of romance is not my normal reading preference, but now I want to find more of her books. I really enjoyed this one! Who is Damon? Where is he and why? Where is he from? Who is Bastion? What dow e learn about Damon's family's history with Bastion? Where is Bastion from? Who is Melody? Oh goodness, once all the Hunters and Hunted are paired up and the hunted are released, we get to see 4/6 levels pretty quickly. What are each of the levels like? I liked Galeisha. Damon is not what I expected and Melody is a mad mother ______. You fill in the blank there. In some places, this went to almost erotic. It definitely had some kink on it! Most importantly, it did have love and romance. First book I have read by her and once again, I really have to get more of her books to read. If this book is any indication of her writing style!!

The Virgin Hunt Games by Mel Teshco ARC Review

I received a copy of The Virgin Hunt Games in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis:

EARTH, YEAR 2324

Melody Simmons desperately needs to fill her bank accounts with credits that could help her family climb out of near poverty. And in the Virgin Hunt Games, that means enticing as many hunters as possible to bed her. The downside? Billions of viewers from all parts of the galaxy would be watching her fall from virtue with avid interest.

Alien Damon Banscott despises everything about the Virgin Hunt Games. Except the fact he can now legally destroy his enemy in the games. He is in this only for revenge. Then Damon sees one of the beautiful hunted and, for a moment, his heart stops beating. He’ll fight to the death before allowing another hunter to touch and deflower Melody.

But while the hunters get more credits by pleasing their captive mate sexually, the hunted women received more by finding their pleasure with any of the hunters who weren’t their assigned mate.

Let the games begin…

“It’s okay to be scared. It’s when you don’t feel fear anymore that you need to worry.”

Okay, first off. The concept of giving away your innocence for money is kinda weird. Okay, scratch that, extremely wrong.
However. I actually didn’t mind this book at all. The storyline was pretty good, good characters. Plot was a little confusing at first but built itself back up after a bit. It was exciting though. I would definitely read any other books that are set in this universe, hopefully with the same characters. Possibly Fallon and Galeisha. *hint hint*

4/5 Stars!

The Virgin Hunt Games was a fun book to read. The story flows well and is hard to put down once started. The main character is a woman named Melody, who joins the games in order to help get her family out of poverty. The games consist of the “hunted” and the “hunter”. The “hunted” are virgin females who are paired with a “hunter” that must capture them and take their virginity. Women are encouraged to evade their “hunter” and even join with other men to gain money, which is the primary motivation for most of the players. The “hunter” makes more money by capturing the “hunted” early on which makes for an interesting dynamic. The male lead is a man named Damon, who is secretly a prince looking for revenge against the man who killed his father and was paramount in forming a treaty that is at a great disadvantage to his people. Melody and Damon form an instant connection and must spend the next seven days working together to overcome deadly challenges.
As characters, Melody and Damon worked well together. They helped overcome each other’s weaknesses. Melody was especially refreshing in that she wasn’t the stereotypical weak character. She fought for her survival and didn’t completely rely on Damon. She did this by using her analytical and fighting skills. For most of the book, she analyzes her surroundings and uses it to her advantage. Damon and Melody grew to love and trust each other by working together and relying on each other.
The rules of the game were explained early on, which was very helpful. It allowed the reader to know what to expect. The arena also seemed like an interesting setting that the author could have expanded on. The arena was multi-leveled and offered different advantages. Each level also had its own challenges. One of the things that could have been expanded on was the ending. It felt a bit sudden and rushed. The main problem was solved within the last few pages. The resolution seemed a bit too easy. An expansion on this would have allowed the characters to have more closure.
Overall, the book was a nice read.

Enjoyed the premise, and our heroine Melody but wasn't engaged enough to want to reread. Intimate scenes were steamy and was a quick read! This was overall fine, didn't wow me but also didn't disappoint more middle of the road more than anything. The announcers constantly chiming in the background did give me a chuckle or two.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received by IndieSage PR*

What an interesting read. At first, the title kinda gives you everything it says it is: a game where the hunters win by finding their assigned hunted first and the virgins get points for fornicating with anyone but their assigned hunter. The writing was a little confusing at first because a lot of the drama stemmed from reasonings I didn't understand. I won't spoil anything but let's just say it didn't make sense to be upset about winning. Otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised by the romance between Melody and Damon. It's almost funny, because at first you think it's a kink book but the two main characters go a lot deeper than the physical stuff, making you question alongside them if there are ever really any boundaries you cannot cross.

It was certainly unique to me, something hot and thrilling to read as you never know if someone's screaming in pleasure or terror. There weren't as much sex scenes as I envisioned, which I guess makes sense when everyone's running for their lives/credits. The whole story kinda jumps right into it and you don't really get to go into depth about what made the world it is now. The author definitely explains the what's and why's but it didn't come off as a post-apocalyptic read, just straight sci-fi.

I liked the aliens, the good and bad guys, the grey ones. Some scenes really came to life and the moments were hot. The confusion and insecurities interesting enough to get me involved. It's a stand-alone HEA that I found entertaining.
