Claire’s sister Darcy goes missing from her job at a butterfly farm. Some valuable butterflies are also missing. Claire and her husband Nick vow to do anything they need to find her. The more they investigate the stranger it gets.

This book wasn’t my favorite book of Harpers but it kept me entertained. I didn’t care for Darcy’s husband, he was immature and some of his actions did nothing to help his wife. The plot was clever, but a bit far fetched for me. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I love Karen Harper's series. Claire's sister is missing and she and husband Nick are turning over every possible clue to discover where she is. Clues start to come together. Many people want to help, especially a creepy library guy, who figures large in the story and an even creepier doll. My one complaint about this book is there are a lot of characters to keep track of and it sometimes became confusing.

I haven't read a book by Karen Harper in a long time (I devoured so many of her books years ago) so I am really glad I decided to give this one a try. Overall, it's a great book. I enjoy the way the author writes and tells her stories. The mystery is intriguing, the characters are tough but likable, and everything wraps up in a satisfying way. I will be looking for many more books of Ms. Harper's in the future.

I loved this book just as much as I did all the others in the South Shore Series. Well written with well developed characters this book was an easy read with the main character, Claire Markwood being very headstrong and getting into many scary situations., yet always finding her way out of them.. Great story!

Another great compelling read from Karen Harper! It is just the right mix of suspense and mystery.
The book captured my attention from the very first page and had me reading until late night.
Complex characters and a twisty , unpredictable storyline and finish made for a very satisfying read.
Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book.

Dark Storm is part of the South Shores series. This is the only book in the series I've read, but I was able to understand without any issues. Naples, Florida is the setting, and I could only think hot and humid because I live in Florida. A missing sister and some missing peculiar butterflies from the farm where she works is intriguing. Who steals butterflies? It's a mystery with many layers and threads to unravel. I found the plot exciting and dynamic. I was pulled in immediately and wanted to know the ending so bad! I will read more from Karen Harper because I really enjoyed this book. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Reading Karen Harper's latest novel was like playing a guessing game or trying to put all the puzzle pieces together. The story takes place in Naples Florida and continues her books that feature Claire, Nick, Darcy, Steve and all their children. Darcy has vanished from their home and most of the books details Claire as well as Nick's efforts to find her. Their search is complicated because in the beginning they have no clues or ideas what could have happened to her. An older man who volunteers to read to children at the library tries to help them as well. Won't say more since I want everyone else who reads this book to be as surprised as I was.

This is the last book in the South Shores series. I have read the whole series and have really liked all of them.. Lots of different story lines that all come together at the end and tie up all the mysteries. I did figure out parts of mystery early but enjoyed this series very much
