Excellent DIY book with looks of helpful hints on creating your own jewellery and beautifully illustrated with great pictures. For either beginner, advance in jewellery making of for those (like me) that like to know and create for my sewing pieces to add a bling. Excellent book!

Couldn’t get this book to dowload properly on my Tablet, so am sorry I can’t give a very formative review. From what little I could see, it looks like it has some fun projects!

Wow Jewelry by Gay Isber is a MUST if you want to go BIG in your jewelry making. I am a mixed media jewelry maker/teacher/artist, my work has been published in various craft magazines, books and in galleries/stores. I love unusual jewelry. Making big bold statement jewelry is my passion so I was thrilled to see a book that TRULY celebrate the motto "bigger is BETTER".

The book is full of imaginative, big, bold jewelry making goodness. I had a few "wow, that's brilliant" thoughts while reading it and I'll be incorporating it into my own work. There are lots of photos both full and close up. The projects are well written and easy to follow. You can find the supplies at any big name craft store, department store and maybe even your own junk drawer. Even if you don't like your jewelry quite as big, you can use the techniques to create jewelry more your size. It is a great inspiration book to help you grow and think outside the box.

I like to do crafts. One of my favorite past times. When it comes to constructing jewelry, I feel at a lost. Reason being, I feel overwhelmed on where to start, the tools I need, the materials are endless, then putting it all together. I have read other books on the basics of jewelry making. It provided all the tools I would need and the basic materials to do minor constructing. Wow Jewelry by Gay Isber, takes jewelry making to a whole other level. She uses everything from sequins to insects, to create simple items to the elaborate. The author has provided ideas on crowns and tiaras, arm and wrist cuffs, earrings, necklaces. Also provided is the level of difficulty along with detailed instruction on how to create the pieces shown in the book. This can make the novice jewelry maker feel like a master jewel maker.

Despite the fact that the author's artistic style is *nothing* like mine, I still loved this book. Even though I'd never make jewelry that looks like this, I loved her innovative approach to design. Will definitely use the techniques with materials that are more my style.

The jewellery is dramatic, the photographs are fabulous, the instructions are easy to follow, there is plenty of variety and there certainly is a very big WOW factor to all the jewellery to be made. You can make it big and blowsy or you can tone it down, its up to you, but one thing is guaranteed, you'll have fun making it and wearing it.

This is a jewelry book for those searching for inspiration in making their own creations. It also covers technique and materials, but really the essence of the book are the finished pieces. The style reminds me of the 80's: bold, flashy, colorful, over the top. Showstoppers. It will definitely appeal to anyone who is attracted to this aesthetic, but will also be useful to those who will use the wealth of ideas to create their own pared down designs.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

While the big bold jewelry in this book isn't my personal style, I was still inspired to try some new techniques. I especially like the wire work. Many projects use resin and gold leaf, which I am anxious to try.

This book is over the top- fantastic creations of bling!!!! The book begins with the author/designers story. She then describes the media she uses for her creativity and the processes; even down to the how to of photography and marketing the creations. She lists sources for the variety of materials she uses and inspirations for creativity. Next she details 25 different projects all of which are shown with photographs and complete instructions. There are full instructions on a variety of craft processes many of which I haven't seen detailed before. There is plenty of knowledge and inspiration shared in this book. Even if bling is not your thing the craft processes included can be used to be creatively. Enjoy!!!

Wow Jewelry
by Gay Isber

Jewelry takes on a whole new meaning with Gay Isber’s expression on modern handmade jewelry. The only instructions that really showed how to make jewelry was the part where they showed through photos was how to connect wire to beads. There is of course other tips and tricks for specific projects, but very little of it seemed to be something I would be interested in trying. In fact only one project caught my eye to make and that is the Aqua crystal drops.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fascinating crafting book with the focus on big, bold statement jewelry. As a jewelry and mixed media artist I found her ideas interesting, although I am not sure I would use nail polish or insect wings in my own personal jewelry. Gay Isber's book is a great resource for someone looking to add unusual materials or bold, chunky ready-to-wear art jewelry pieces to their style. My only criticisms were that a good discussion of some basic techniques (drilling a hole in the resin jewelry after it has dried, etc.) and the lack of a logical progression of projects overall (easy to hard, head to toe, material type, etc.).

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a review.

Wow Jewelry by Gay Isber was certainly an interesting jewelry book! I will say upfront that my husband is a lapidary artist and silversmith. I often create with him and choose items to put together. That being said, the jewelry I'm interested in is much more natural. Wow, Jewelry is exactly what the title says- Wow, as in over the top! I found the techniques offered in this book to be interesting. Many could be completed with simple tools and supplies. They were not the average jewelry making techniques, some included insects and nail polish. The jewelry items in the books are what I would consider costume or prop jewelry. They are large and colorful. Not the type of items I see the normal person wearing in the American Midwest. I would definitely recommend this title if you are creating jewelry for costume or stage use. It was a fun read and I enjoyed the colorful photographs.

Wow Jewelry seems appropriate for jewelry sellers. It's not the audience I would like to review the book. Looking for easy projects women entrepreneurs can create at home to wear to work.

Wow Jewelry is a new guide to statement jewelry with 25 tutorial projects included. Due out 9th July 2019 from Fox Chapel, it's 176 pages and available in paperback.

I trained and worked as a metalsmith and jeweler for 16 years. My designs tended to be traditional with an emphasis on costly materials and traditional historical design. 'Exuberance' was not really a watchword in the formal jewelry business in my experience. These designs on the other hand, utilize inexpensive, relatively easily sourced materials for major impact in big showy costume pieces.

The biggest value in the book for me was in the author's well described artistic process. She describes quite well the thought processes that she goes through designing a piece. She has a very cool philosophy about using all sorts of 'non-jewely' items in her pieces (like nail polish, insect parts, various plastics and resins as well as other bits).

While there weren't any pieces which called out to me to be made right away, I can definitely see using some of these techniques in my future crafting. The book is also very well photographed and the tutorials are written simply and clearly.

The models in the book are certainly creatively positioned and made up (see the cover art).

Worthwhile as inspiration.

Four stars.

Wow! This book was certainly titled right. It is full of big, bold, and very unique designs and the photos are eye candy for the soul.
Jewelry artists are always on the lookout for inspiration and this book most definitely has that. The book is delightfully laid out in increments that any jeweler can follow easily. The materials can be easily obtained and, again, used creatively in the designs. Despite information on sites like Pinterest and YouTube, artists will want to own this book both for inspiration as well as a reference guide due to the distinctive ideas presented by the author.
