Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.

This is the story of 5 roommates from university who come together after a few years for a roommates wedding. The book, which takes place over the course of the wedding takes Luca, the main character, through flashbacks from university, to discoveries of things she never knew happened. I loved the way this book intertwined the stories and constantly kept you interested in what was going to happen next! This book was a quick read and you wanted to find out what ultimately was going to happen for Luca -- would she be able to finally hit it off with an old crush? Or would she be yet again the one leaving the wedding solo?

I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and one that made me LOL in many a place. It would be the perfect holiday read.

The story takes place over one day and a few flashbacks to the past and both present and past are cleverly combined. Predictable in places, yes but I love a good love story and this didn’t disappoint. It was exactly what I needed to read.

This was my first book from this author but it certainly won’t be my last as I love her tone and style of writing.

This felt like a typical summer holiday beach read which is great. I’ve reviewed this on my Instagram a few times and really just think it’s a very reliable book to recommend to a lot of people as it’s very across the board enjoyable. Fun, funny and silly too, this is a perfect read if your looking to escape into a story for a few hours right now.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title.

This was an average, simple story with clever moments. While I did find myself curious about the ending, it wasn't the stay up all night read I was hoping for.

“The Time of Our Lives” by Portia Macintosh.

A marvelous funny and light chick lit story. It was an easy read, in which the story’s main focus is on the two main characters (Luca and Tom), their friendship, their past and a possible future.

Star rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

A sweet & funny chick lit with the perfect ending! I loved the authors sense of humour.

Though it was very predictable, most books like this are & i’m not mad about it! I like knowing exactly what I am going to get when it comes to chick-lit.

The Time of Our Lives is basically a reunion between university friends at one of their weddings. (It reminded me a little bit of the movie 10 Years.)

It was a little bit slow to start but I did enjoy the humour and the crazy dynamic between house mates. They all had a specific quirk which made them all fit together, like weird shaped puzzle pieces that do eventually make a nice picture.

It was a little predictable and I found it dragged on a bit, but it was also entertaining at times. The group together was hilarious and their antics were the highlight. It didn’t excite me in any way, but I was curious about certain outcomes and the conclusion.

Luca is the only one of her friends not in a romantic relationship but is fine attending a wedding solo. While there, Luca experiences highs and lows from meeting an attractive man who seems interested in getting to know her better to being asked to fill in last minute as a bridesmaid.... oh, and coming face to face with Tom, the university friend who broke her heart. As the night progresses, Luca must decide if old feelings still remain, and if so, what should she do with them.

This book was a quick read and was filled with cute moments between friends and possible lovers, and I enjoyed the multiple timelines as a way to explore Tom and Luca's past. However, I was expecting more romance. The majority of the book seemed to be geared more towards the dynamics of the group of friends and their drama. I think I would have enjoyed this book a little more if the focus had been more on Luca and Tom's relationship.

Also, there was too many typos and errors with spacing that it made the reading experience a bit difficult and less enjoyable. Perhaps it was because the book had not been fully proofed yet or the formatting with a digital copy was off.

This is billed as a romance, but it’s really more of an ensemble piece with an under-developed second-chance romance. Ten years after graduation, our heroine Luca is invited to the wedding of her best guy friend from college. Lo and behold, Tom, the guy who broke her heart is the groom’s best man and one of the bridesmaids is the women he broke her heart for…and the sister of the bride. Although there is witty banter and a nice combination of relationship issues with the supporting characters, the book has a number of problems that make it just an okay read, not a stand-out. The major issue is the low self-esteem of the female lead, Luca. She even admits that she’s one of those women who apologizes for everything. She is hanging on to a 10-year-old crush when nothing ever came of the college relationship but friendship. Tom took up with another woman and stayed with her for years despite a very rocky relationship. He rejected Luca twice, yet she’s willing to give him a 3rd try…after the guy she’s ready to hook up with turns out to be married and Tom gives her a lame excuse for why he stayed with Cleo after realizing his mistake. The author’s choice of using chapter-to- chapter flashbacks also disrupts the flow of the story. Conclusion: Boring story with an odd, preachy ending.

While still an entertaining novel, this one just wasn't one of my favorites. There were some good character basis in Luca and Tom as well as other characters. While the story was a nice light read, it was missing substance to me to make it a really great novel. It was fun and entertaining with parts that did make me laugh out loud. I would definitely try another one by Portia but this one just wasn't my personal taste. If you enjoy the light comedic contemporary reads though give it a try!

This was super cute. I loved the characters and the story line. It didn't break any new ground, but it was an easy and light read which I loved and got through in less than a day.

This is a story of seven friends who met at university ten years earlier and are having their first reunion in more than five years. There are misunderstandings from the past and mixed signals in the present and who knows what the future will be like for this mismatched group of friends.

It was a bit hard to follow the story as it switched back and forth between the past and present lives, but I kept turning the pages until I read all of it. Not exactly my type of read, but still enjoyable.

Thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for an ARC; all opinions are my own.

I really liked this book!

Luca is attending a wedding of her old university friends. She is anxious about bumping into her old crush from her uni days.

The story flips between the uni days are the present. Each flashback reveals a relevant chunk of information that leads to the current day.

I loved the characters, they were all really well written and believable. I could visualise each character.

If I had one small critique of the book, it would be the amount of supporting characters. There was quite a few of them, sometimes I had to try to remember who they were.

As I approached the 50% mark I felt more and more attached to the story and didn’t want to stop reading it.

I really liked the ending, it was rounded off perfectly without sickly, unrealistic happy ever after fantasy.

I recommend this book to any fans of rom com stories. I loved it. Thank you for the advanced copy.

This romantic comedy was definitely one that I loved. I could not put this down and finished it quickly.
Took me on a journey that I enjoyed every step of the way.
Uplifting and entertaining.

Immersive, satisfying read. Thoroughly enjoyable book, the two main twisting threads are easy to distinguish and follow through to the conclusion. Funny - with some actual laugh it loud moments and heart warming. Recommended for a book binge as once you start it’s hard to put down.

Thank you Netgalley
