A girl goes missing, and a PI is sent to find her. She gets tangled in the questions of who did this and why. This book keeps you guessing around every turn it takes, and right up until the end, you will not want to put the book down.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. martin’s Press for the preview!

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.

I have enjoyed all the books in this series, but this is my least favourite. Roxane is asked by her brother Andrew to locate a woman who asked to use his phone in some distress, but has now disappeared. She is also investigating the mystery of the knock-off leggings in a very half-hearted way. I like Roxane and the strongest elements of this book were her relationships with Catherine, Tom, Andrew and her neighbour Shelby.

I struggled to really care about the 'case'; there were too many profiles and identities on BusPass and Facebook and it all seemed bit tame and dull.

Hopefully the next book will be better.

Roxane Weary is becoming my favorite investigator. I absolutely love everything about these books. The character development is just as strong as the mystery being presented. Every. Single. Time. I can’t wait for the next one!

If you are looking for a “new” author to add to your list of favorite crime and mystery writers, look no further. Roxane gets a middle of the night phone call from her brother, Andrew, who’s freaked out by an impromptu visit from Addison, the DJ from the bar where he works. Andrew tells Roxane the young woman was bloody and upset when she barged in, asked to use his cell phone, then disappeared. He’s right to be worried, because the police land on bis doorstep after a call from Addison’s father. It seems Addison left a voicemail for her father that didn’t contain much more than Andrew’s address. And now the police want to know where all the blood Addison trailed in came from. It soon becomes apparent that Addison is not the only member of the bar/dance club where Andrew works who has disappeared. This book kept me twisting, just when I thought I knew what was happening, I was thrown another red herring. A real mind %^&*
