Jackson is the first book in a spin off series of Eternity Springs by Emily March featuring the McBrides of Texas. Jackson is going through an ugly divorce and even uglier custody battle when he and his brothers move to Redemption, Texas to inspect the land they inherited. Caroline is saying the "long goodbye" to her husband when the book begins. Neither of the main characters are looking for love, but both find companionship in each other.

I personally struggled to connect with this one which is what led to me abandoning the book. Caroline and Jackson's relationship is easy to buy into, however I couldn't see them becoming more than friends with what they are both experiencing in their personal lives at the time of the book. Many things felt forced or fell flat for me.

Imagine being able to live out your dreams and experiencing the ability to live again. Jackson and Caroline’s lives had hit rock bottom as their world was literally ripped apart for very different reasons. Taking a chance they both end up in Redemption, Texas following their dreams. It was time to live again and experience all life had to offer and falling in love was just what they needed. What a wonderful beginning to a series that you will want to read to the end!

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

This book was generic for me. There were a lot of recycled troupes and for people who generally enjoy the romance genre it probably works very well. It just wasn’t for me.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I have not read the prior stories of this series and even though some of the characters make appearances, I don't think it is necessary to read them.

This book seemed a little choppy for me. It was hard to tell how much time had passed at one point. It seemed like a year had gone by, but Haley (Jackson's daughter) was seven for two years? I was confused. Now it was an ARC that I read and sometimes they haven't gone through a final revision.

The premise of the story was a good one but again a little choppy. It is written in my favorite dual POV format. Also the author did a fade out of the sexy scenes so it would be up to a parent to determine if it is appropriate for those under the age of 18.

While I did enjoy it, it would not be a book that I would want to re-read again. Again, this is my opinion and someone else may thoroughly enjoy it more.

You can go wrong with Emily March. Part of the Eternity Springs series three cousins start a new with some "magical" lands in Texas Hill Country. It's an emotional story with a beautiful romance.

The cover on this one caught my eye, and the blurb had me grabbing this book! This book was an easy read with little drama, and a cute HEA.

What did I like? I like the idea of a road to Ruin all the way to Redemption. Sounds like my kind of place! Plus an enchanted canyon with saloons, and brothels. A place where two people could find something and be happy.

Would I recommend or buy? I’d read more from the series. This is book one so we have a ton of characters which will flesh out more going in I’m sure. Idea was great but Jackson and his ex was a bit much.

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

This book was NOT what I though it was going to be.

After reading and enjoying The First Kiss of Spring, I jumped at the chance to read another book by Emily March. However, this one was not IT for me. This time around, I didn't get a feel for the characters, their connection or the romance that was supposed to be developing between them. I did enjoy Tucker and Boone so hopefully there's some romance in their future.

All in all, an okay read.

It was unrealistic, rushed, and not a lot of connection but for some reason I really enjoyed the book. I will start the series from the beginning now because of this book. I can't wait to read the other 2 to understand more about Tucker and Boone also. It might have been the setting that made me like the book because everything else was rushed and not really well connected but I could feel the love and the setting and how beautiful in my mind everything was. Received this book as an ARC and this is my opinion.

Jackson and Caroline have a long, bumpy road to follow to their HEA! The descriptions are like you are right there along for the ride with them

This was a nice romance to read while in quarantine. Both Jackson and Caroline have lost someone, though not in the same way, and it was nice to see them come together. They were both a little gun shy of a new romance and told themselves it was just for fun. I liked the peripheral characters and look forward to reading more about them in other books. The names of the towns and locations in this book also gave me a good laugh, even while making subtle points.

Jackson is a second chance romance for those who like a feel good romance. Jackson is the first book in The McBrides of Texas series which appears to be a spin-off of Emily March's Eternity Springs series. I haven't read any of this series but it appears quite a few characters are integrated into this new series set in Redemption, Texas. The writing was great and the romance was sweet. If you like series on the tame side, then I recommend this book.
Caroline Carruthers' husband has early onset Alzheimer's and when he unexpectedly dies she decides she wants to restart her life. She moves to Redemption, Texas and opens a bookstore. Jackson, a singer and song-writer, is still reeling from his divorce, custody battle and lawsuit against his ex-wife. He needs away from it all and hides out in a small Texas town of Redemption.
There is a huge cast of characters and they all have a nice camaraderie. I especially liked Celeste's troublesome and eccentric cousin, Angelica. The story isn't all cuteness and sunshine, there are some heavy issues within and are dealt with in a tasteful way.
I, personally, wasn't a huge fan of this book because it took way to long to set up. Caroline's husband was still alive at the beginning and it took to (I believe) chapter eight to even get to Redemption, Texas. The romance was sweet but I wish that had been a little more heat to it. Then one of my worst nightmares happened and I honestly didn't even want to finish reading. It took me months to finish this book but that was just me. I don't think others will have the issues that I had. I think I was just being stupid picky.

Author Emily March is a master at telling stories about broken hearts, lost love and redemption. She does a superb job with Jacksons' broken family and heart.

Jackson is one of the good men. He loves his daughter and just wants to be with his daughter. Jackson becomes a broken man because he and his ex's constant fighting causes him to lose visitation rights. His emotions of anger, sorrow and fear are so real that the reader will feel a pain in their heart for everything he is experiencing. The fact that he even notices Caroline is a miracle with all his hurt and lack of trust.

Caroline's loss is another part of this story. I understand her pain because my mom died with Alzheimer's. It broke our family’s heart that she didn't know us at the end, so Caroline's reaction rang true. I loved how much she loved her husband, her heartbreak and how she survived it all. Her example of grace in the face of such heartbreak create an atmosphere of hope.

The emotions created for the reader around this plot was handled with finesse and several times I had to bring out the Kleenex. There was a point at the end of the story that my heart almost broke and I was so into the story that it hurt for Caroline at what could be the ending for her story that was not satisfying for me.

You need to read the book though to see if she gets her happy ever after.

I give it 5 STARS for stirring me so emotionally.

This is a second chance romance story. Although the characters were interesting I found there to be too much concentration on multiple other characters in the book and not enough focus on the two main characters. That being said, the story was still enjoyable but it did not do it for me. Maybe it would have worked better for me if I would have read the series from the beginning, but at this point I will not explore any of the other books in this series.

This book is a wonderfully entertaining spin off of the Eternity Springs series that introduces the McBride cousins Jackson, Tucker and Boone who have inherited 3,000 acres of pristine canyons along with a brothel, a saloon and an old dance hall that haven’t been touched since the 1940’s and a ghost town on the road between Redemption and Ruin. Only Emily March could develop more heartwarming characters that I love just as much as the ones from Eternity Springs. I love the new setting and the romance that grows between Jackson and Caroline and I know you will too. I read an early copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Jackson Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas by Emily March
Have read a few other books by this author and have enjoyed the stories.
Starts with Boone and he has a letter he doesn't want to open but Celeste visits him first because she needs help with a relative that got herself into trouble in VA.
He also hears from Jackson in TN who's going to meet up with him as he has nothing else to do now that he's lost custody of his little girl. There is a surprise visitor when the family sits to listen about the land they've inherited.
Love exploration of the area the 3 men go on and the treasures they find.
Story also follows Caroline whose husband is in a memory care facility and doesn't know her at all and he kisses another woman til his heart attack.
She and Maisy and the McBrides were investigating the cousins land-Enchanting Canyon and is hours from cell service and towns...
We learn on the drive to the hospital about Jackson and his ex wife and his loss of music. We also learn of her troubles...
The cousins have to plan what to do with the land and buildings, to come up with something that will create money...
Like what happens to Caroline in the long run with her new shop something she's always wanted to do. Love that she takes 'after' pictures of the improvements from enchanting canyon.
Even though there are a lot of people in the story they are easy to keep track of what each is doing.
Like when the improvements have all been done and the family and friends are invited to Angel's Rest Inn at the Enchanted Canyon as a test run for the opening...
So many emotions during this whole book. Tragic events and some really special things happen also.
Love this series and being able to keep up with the others that make up this whole series. Can't wait to read more and the previous ones as well.
Received this review copy from St. Martin's Press via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

I am enjoying this spinoff to the Eternity Springs series. Great new characters! I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. I would recommend to to others.

Wasn't sure if I was going to love the character Jackson. His surliness wasn't very attractive to me. But once Caroline cracked through his crustiness Jackson started to grow on me. In the end, this is a charming read. If you're looking for an overall great read by the pool or beach give Jackson a try. Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book for my honest review.
