I have read all of the Eternity Springs books and I was thrilled to see another in the series. It looks like this is also starting a new series which is also good news! Jackson and Carolyn are both wounded in love, him with a divorce and her with her husbands death. Redemption, Texas is a place of starting over for both of them. Beautiful story of rebirth and romance. Can't wait to see what comes next in the series.

Jackson by Emily March

First in a new series, a spinoff from the Eternity Springs series. While it can be read as a standalone, there are many characters from the prior books that would make them more dimensional if some of the prior books were read.

Family centric, contemporary small town romance. Clean. Beautifully written with emotional high and low points.
I admire Jackson for his actions in the face of tragedy but mostly for his love of his daughter. He knows when to speak up and actually follows through in sharing his thoughts and feelings.

A wonderful romance and start of a new series. Hints are dropped in the epilogue on whose romance may be next in the town of Redemption, Texas. I’m looking forward to further books.

Jackson is Emily March's newest offshoot from her Eternity Springs series. The setting is Texas and will involve the McBride cousins, all who seem to be haunted by their pasts. Jackson has an ex-wife who just won a custody battle and he's distraught over not being able to have contact with his daughter. His cousins convince him to return to Texas and a new business opportunity. That's where he meets Caroline who also has come out of an emotionally draining time ending in the death of her husband. She's ready for a fresh start. Jackson and Caroline find Redemption, Texas a perfect place to begin their next chapters. As in March's other books the conduit to change is Celeste - a lady who knows a lot about everyone to the point of knowing what's best for them and she has the ability to convince people to take her advice. Well, Celeste shows up in Redemption to help her cousin do what Celeste does in Eternity Springs. Their back and forth added some levity and humor to the novel. I liked this book and am interested in reading the next because of the way things left off with Jackson's cousin and one of Caroline's close friends. 3.5 stars rounded up.

Jackson is the first book in the McBrides of Texas series and the 16th in the Eternity Springs series. I do not think it is necessary to read the Eternity Springs series before reading Jackson - I feel like Jackson reads more like the start of a series rather than a continuation. You do get caught up on some past characters but I think you will be fine not reading the first 15 books.

Overall I enjoyed this book but I did think it took awhile to get into the story. I also wish there was more romance. Sure, there was a central romance, but for some reason it didn't feel like that was the focus. This read more like women's fiction to me.

This is a sweet story about Jackson, a songwriter who went through a nasty divorce from his celebrity wife and Caroline who lost her much older husband to Alzheimers. Both brokenhearted and not looking for love. But then they found each other. Sometimes you find what you need when you're not looking. Excited to read about Jackson's cousins, Boone and Tucker!

4.5 stars raised to 5 stars. This both book 16 in the Eternity Springs series and the first book in The McBride's of Texas series. Even if you have never read a book in the Eternity Springs series, you can still read this its more a 1st book in a new series than one of a continuing series. Plus the Eternity Springs series books can all pretty much be stand alone books. The book may have some of the characters appear from the past books, but not in a way that makes you unsure of what is going on. I originally started reading book 7 and loved the book, so much I have read all the books in the series, except for #5 and #6, which I still plan to read.

I loved this book and am so excited to continue with another off shoot of the original series. It is pretty much a sweet romance with little sexual content, which is refreshing. There was only one area of the book that I wasn't crazy about or maybe a bit bored (and thus the deduction of half a star), but since I was not able to write my review immediately, but instead a couple days later; at this point, I can not quite remember specifics of what it was, so I probably could give it a full 5 stars. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and wonder which of the other 2 cousins will be the main feature in this book. I am guessing Boone, but it could be Tucker. I'll just have to wait until later this year or next year to find out.

Years ago, I fell in love with this author’s stories, especially the Callahan brothers series, and was looking forward to this trilogy. Sadly, I ended up very disappointed.
40% into the book and I was still not engaged and never felt connected to either Caroline or Jackson. It dragged and I ended up skimming through it . Overall, it felt flat.
I respect the author’s time and dedication, and for that , I will give it a 3 stars review.

This was a very charming way to spin-off the Eternity Springs series. The McBrides of Texas is sure to be an enjoyable series. Caroline and Jackson proved to be soul mates after each experience life changing events leading up to their meeting in the idyllic town of Redemption, Texas. It was just a bit confusing at first remembering all of the cousins and other characters from Emily March's previous series' who were mentioned during the first few chapters. Other than that, I loved the characters, dialogue, the small town homey feel to this lovely story. I would highly recommend Jackson, even if you haven't read any other of Ms. March's books.

It was great to start a new series by Emily March that takes over where Eternity Springs left off, and it's a winner! The story incorporates the people from Eternity Springs while weaving a whole new adventure for Caroline and Jackson in Redemption, Texas. The description of the canyons, brothel turned inn, dance hall, and stores/restaurants in town come alive when described. It's a rare gift that makes this authors books a joy to read. I can't wait for the next story in this series.

This is a beautiful book. It is clean romance that has more of a romantic women's fiction vibe.Jackson is a father dealing with a rocky divorce and custody issues.Caroline is a recent window who is trying to move on.Their romance is subtle and balancing for the both of them.This combined with small town and heavy emphasis on family dynamics won't appeal to everyone.I recommend this as a well written book.

I came to this book with the wrong expectations because it's less cowboy romance and more women's fiction focused on a quirky small town in Texas with a side of romance. The romance also just didn't work for me. The heroine is processing a lot of grief, and the hero is dealing with ex-wife drama and missing his young daughter. There's a lot going on in the background, and so much time is spent on setting up this town as the star of the series. This is definitely a case of the right book for someone else but not for me. If you're interested in lots of background characters and relationships with the town basically being a character in the story, then give this a go. If you like romance, but you need more going on than just romance, then this might be a great pick for you. If exes inserting themselves into the book's romance isn't a dealbreaker, then again, this might work better for you than it did for me.

Jackson and his two brothers find that they have been left a huge area outside of Redemption, Texas. They come to the area to find the most beautiful, peaceful place they have ever seen and start making plans.
Jackson needs to do anything to keep his mid off the fact that his daughter is being pulled all over the world by his ex-wife and, he can only see her every five months.
Caroline wins a visit to Redemption and, has a wonderful time, especially meeting Jackson and seeing this beautiful land he now owns. Caroline's husband ends up dying soon after and, a year later, she decides to move to Redemption and open a book store.
These two had an instant connection that both backed away from because Jackson has lost all trust in women and, Caroline had to grieve has husband's illness then, his death.
Now, they decide a friends with benefits relationship will work well for both of them. No emotion, no connection, no relationship, right?
This was an amazingly wonderful read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

I've been trying to read outside my normal genre comfort zones lately. This is not a typical book that I would read but I thought it looked promising on the cover. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that it was part of a series (a spin-off of a main series?). I have read another author's series that is set in a town and all the books have characters from other books, etc and I really like that series. Miss March's series though...I don't know. Maybe if I read the main series I would have liked this better? I didn't have a hard time following the story, I don't think you REALLY need to read the main to get what is going on in this book but I just didn't believe the "romance" if that is what you want to call it. I was hoping there would be some more romance scenes but it was very light. If you are someone who likes romance but doesn't necessarily want all the "steaminess" than this book may be for you.

This is a touching, sometimes heartbreaking love story. I loved the story and the characters in the book. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

The two main characters are rebuilding their lives. They both end up starting over in the same small town. It’s a second chance at love for both as they first become friends and after a time that friendship turns into more. Very descriptive writing especially of the magical canyon property in Texas. A mixture of entertaining characters who bring the town of Redemption to life for the reader.

I received an advanced version of this book for my honest review. I highly recommend this story by Emily March. It was well written and had a steady pace. The characters worked well with each other and the plot was easy to follow. Jackson and Caroline have a strong attraction for each other and work through their issues to form a solid relationship. Emily March has a terrific writing style and I look forward to reading more books from her.

This is the first book I've read by Emily March, but it won't be the last. This is a very well written book, she makes it come to life with her words. Emily March is a new to me author, but I did discover that this is actually the start of a spin-off series of her Eternity Springs series. I can say that you don't have to have read the original series to enjoy this story.

Jackson McBride has been struggling since his divorce. As a songwriter, its been a tough road since his break-up and he hasn't been able to write a good song in a very long time. Couple that with the fact his ex is playing hardball and he isn't able to see his six year old daughter for extended periods of time, to say he's in a tenuous place is an understatement. When he gets a call from one of his cousins that their great aunt has left them a sizable piece of property in Redemption, Texas, he takes off to go see what it's all about.

Caroline Carruthers is struggling herself. Her husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and while she knows putting him in assisted living for the latter part of his life was the right decision, it doesn't make it any easier. When she is given an amazing opportunity to write a piece on the town of Redemption, Texas, she jumps at it. Not only is it a great distraction, but it gives her a chance to do something she loves.

When Jackson and Caroline meet in Redemption, it's clear right away that they are attracted to one another, but neither is in a position to act on it. They become friends, but is that how things are going to stay between them? They may not be looking for love, but maybe they can help one another along their path to healing.

I enjoyed this story and all of the people that reside in Redemption. Something tells me there is a lot more to learn about this interesting place and the people that inhabit it.

This was an awesome book. It was well written and easy to say connected with the storyline. Emily made you feel like you where in the book with her as you read it. I would recommend this book.
