A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. A good start to a series about the McBrides. This one touches on Jackson and Caroline and how they deal with life problems thrown their way. Easy to follow along on how everyone comes together.

This is a new author to me. I loved this book and need more of the cousins. I like that the author told Jackson's back story and he had a rough background in the love life. We see him work through this in this story. Caroline has her own set backs but she overcomes them more easily. Yes there is drama but it involves Jackson's back story. This book takes you through the ups and downs of Caroline and Jackson falling for each other. I had a hard time putting this book down. It was a great read.

Jackson (The McBrides of Texas #1; Eternity Springs #16) by Emily March ... My new favorite place is Redemption..Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. Emily never fails to pull me in from the beginning and never lets me go. Jackson McBride (divorced..missing Haley his daughter) Caroline Carruthers (widow...) Both move to Redemption to start over... Jackson inherited property with his two cousins... Caroline opens a business... We touch base with old friends from Eternity Springs ..Celeste and her cousin play important parts... There are happy and sad tears, laughter, turning pages in their lives, angst and so much more getting us to a HEA. I can hardly wait for the next book in this series.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Original Romantic Wonderful characters Easy-to-read Funny Page-turner Great world building Entertaining Unpredictable Happily Ever Afte

Pretty good. Love/hate....

I got to check out a upcoming release for review and even though it is part of a series I had little difficulty following the story.

I have to say I was expecting a more from this book. Maybe from the cover I was expecting a little cowboy romance. After all Jackson was a hot number.

However, much of the book mainly revolved around Caroline and most of it was conversation. We learned about half of the people in the town; friends and relatives, and honestly I wanted so much more. This read more as a women’s fiction than a romance.

Don’t get me wrong, there was large areas having to do with Jackson and his ex and daughter, but I wanted more of the love connection. I didn’t want to read all the conversations about opening a B&B and squabbling about a name. I did get bored in quite a few sections of the story.

I enjoyed the overall theme but I really think the author missed the mark on the close connection between the main characters. I got distracted and lost in all of the extraneous conversations and we did not get the full affect of what a perfect matchup really feels like in a fabulous love story.

This is definitely what I would call a clean romance but go in knowing it may be read as a woman’s fiction with an additional side of romance.

This book didn't do it for me. The characters weren't relatable and the story seemed to drag along.
Not enough substance and just seemed to lack any emotional pull.

Good romance read! This is the first book in the offshoot of the Eternity Springs series. I enjoyed reading about some of the past characters in this book. The chemistry of Jackson and Caroline was good and the story was engaging. I enjoyed it!

I enjoyed my first book by Emily March. This story has a lot of characters that took me awhile to grasp. A lot of background information was given in the beginning. You see the struggles that Jackson faces and what brings him to Redemption, TX. Jackson along with his two cousins, Boone and Tucker McBride, inherit a very large ranch from a “crazy” relative. While exploring the property the cousins learn there is a ghost town in “Enchanted Canyon” named Ruin. You need to understand that the current thriving town is called Redemption. The cousins also find halfway between Redemption and Ruin a settlement that was once called, Last Chance. It is here that the cousins decide to open a B&B, a restaurant (old saloon), and revive the old dance hall. Jackson is a talented singer/songwriter who loses custody of his little girl right before heading to Redemption. By the way Jackson is pretty handsome too! Caroline Carruthers has her own struggles that will eventually lead her to Redemption permanently. She has been married to an older man who develops dementia and eventually passes. Caroline moves to Redemption to open a bookstore, The Next Chapter. Caroline is beautiful, smart, sexy, and very sweet. She is so strong to find the courage to move on to the next chapter of her life. Jackson and Caroline develop a relationship slowly, enjoying their exclusive friendship. When Jackson’s ex and daughter faces tragedy will Jackson go back to his old life or will he find a way to make things work with Caroline after this turn of events. Read Emily March’s newest story and find out for yourself. Lots of great characters that give hints to future stories. The heat level is a sweet/soft level. Will Caroline and Jackson find themselves on the road to Redemption or Ruin? I received this story in exchange for a honest review. I enjoyed the story and it was a pretty easy read. Hard to keep up with all the characters sometimes but, they are really pretty fun.

This is the first book in a new series by Emily March. The story begins in Eternity Springs, which fans of the previous series will recognize immediately. For those who have not read Emily’s books before, Eternity Springs, Colorado is a town where hearts are healed. Celeste Blessing lives there and is like an angel on earth, guiding people to find peace.
Boone McBride also resides in Eternity Springs and receives a letter, which sends him to Redemption, Texas. Jackson McBride’s world is crumbling and he is guided to go to Redemption also. Caroline Carruthers, who is barely hanging on while seeing her husband fade in health and his memory so spotty that he does not know who she is most days, is sent to Redemption by Celeste. These lives intertwine in Redemption.
In previous books, many fans of Emily March have gotten to know Celeste. She is always there with confidence boosting sayings and love. In this book, we see a different side of her. It is so refreshing to know she is human after all. With her stubborn cousin, Angelica, Celeste has to bring out all of her inner calmness not to explode. It is very humorous to see the calm, peaceful Celeste struggle with her emotions.
The story focuses on Jackson and Caroline. They both are going through a tough time in their lives and they form a friendship that helps them heal. As time passes, they realize that they have much more than a friendship and that they have found a lasting love.
I loved this story, as I have all of Emily March’s books. She writes with a gentleness and healing and I always enjoy my visits to the world she creates.
I want to thank NetGalley.com and St. Martin's Paperbacks for allowing me to read the ARC of this book. My review is my own opinion, not influence by receiving the ARC.

This is a great book. Caroline is a great female lead that has been through tragedy & come out stronger. Jackson is a good counter male lead that has also been through tragedy & is finding his way to stronger. This story is a great read. I love revisiting old characters & places but especially love spinning them off into a new place. Redemption, Texas sounds like an awesome place to go & visit a while. I look forward to going back with the next book, which I think might be Tucker & Gillian’s story. Highly recommend getting into this next series about the McBride men.

Jackson was a perfect in-between read of more intense novels. This is story feels real, messy and imperfect with the complications that come with following in love when you're a grown-up. Jackson and his cousins have inherited land from a family member, which means the land and the nearby town of Redemption are a perfect escape for Jackson from Nashville and the custody battle he's just lost with his ex-wife. Caroline needs an escape from the overwhelming needs of her older husband, who's suffering from Alzheimer's disease and takes an assignment in Redemption. When Caroline's husband passes away, she decides to make Redemption home and a open a bookshop in town. Naturally, Jackson and Caroline reconnect and begin to explore a relationship that both grows and suffers the pitfalls of life along the way. Jackson and Caroline are both incredibly likable characters that navigate the challenges in their lives gracefully, and it's hard not to root for them - especially when Jackson's ex-wife unexpectedly reenters his life

The McBrides of Texas Trilogy.

I received an advanced copy of this book. This is the first book in the spin-off of her Eternity Springs series. In this one, Caroline is married to a much older man, but he doesn’t know who she is. Jackson is divorced, and just lost custody of his daughter. Jackson just finds out that he and his cousins have inherited a large amount of property in Redemption and Ruin, Texas. Caroline’s husband suddenly passes away, and after falling in love with Redemption, decides to buy a building and build a bookstore and start a new chapter for herself. After they let their friendship go a little further than strictly friendship, will their hearts lead the way, or will their baggage get in the way. This is a great book, and if you like her books, one not to be missed.

I absolutely loved this book. It had everything a romance novel should have, tears, laughter and best of all love, p.us a glimpse into the next book.
Jackson is hurting. He misses daughter so much. Caroline married an older man, she looses him sooner than she expected. Can Redemption and Enchanted Canyon work it's magic on their broken hearts.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.

WHERE DO I BEGIN?

I am relatively new to Emily March's writing. Every time I read one of her books, I fall in love all over again.

Caroline is a young woman married to a much older man. She has loved Robert all through their marriage. Now he is in a home for people with Alzheimer's Disease. He no longer remembers Caroline. And he has become enamored of one of the other patients in the center.

On a day her heart has broken one more time, she meets a woman called Celeste. Celeste asks for a favor from Caroline. She convinces Caroline to write a travel article and go to the small Texas town of Redemption Texas in order to gather the material for her article.

Celeste is a character from the Eternity Springs series. She is a woman of many talents.

Caroline goes to Redemption. She is welcomed and made to feel at home. While there, she meets three cousins, Jackson, Boone and Tucker. They have just inherited a large property and they are there to decide how they will use this inheritance.

Caroline receives a call that her husband is in the hospital. He has had a heart attack. Jackson drives her back to Austin because she is in no shape to drive on her own.

Over a period of time, Caroline has become a widow and she has decided to change her life. She is going to open her own books store in Redemption. It is called A New Chapter.

Jackson is at loose ends. He was a song writer and band manager for his ex wife, Coco. She is a singing super star. And she also has ripped his heart out by the roots. Jackson has a six year old daughter, Haley, and now Coco is preventing him from seeing Haley at all.

Jackson throws himself into the development of the bed and breakfast, the restaurant and bar and his favorite part of the development, the dance hall. These are all properties from the 19th century and are part of the inheritance. Each of them have a history. And they are on the road to another small town, Ruin.

Caroline is a very strong woman. She has never been allowed to learn that about herself, but now she has an entire new life ahead of her. She is on her own and enjoying it very much. She has moved to a new town, made new friends and developed a new attitude about her life.

Jackson has not written any music since Coco took his daughter away. He no longer feels the music nor does he even have a desire to find it. But, he is immersing himself in developing the valley and creating wonderful places which will draw guests. The hard work is moving him forward into life. Music starts to be at the very outer edge of his mind and heart.

This book is filled with characters who are exquisitely drawn. Ms March is a master at creating people who are complete with perfections and flaws all in one person. The town of Redemption is populated by caring people who are involved in making the town a welcoming and warm place to live.

Jackson's family members are peripheral characters so far. But it is apparent that at least his two cousins, Boone and Tucker, will be lead characters in the next chapters of this new series.

Characters from the Eternity Springs series are a very small part of the action. But, each of them are reminders of the wonderful books from that series.

This plot moves at a good pace. The action is filled with human behavior of all kinds.
There is humor as well as drama. Nothing is over the top, and for me everything moved as though it were real life rather than pages of a book.

I like the characters Ms March creates. Each of them would be good friends, and certainly never dull.

This book is a wonderful introduction to the new series. And Jackson is a hero who deserves a terrific woman like Caroline. They are a perfect couple.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley. I am voluntarily writing this review and all opinions are completely my own.

A beautiful tale of finding love in the most unexpected ways! Emily March is a wonderful writer (I knew this already) but she really shines with Jackson and I couldn't help but fall deeply in love with this story. I think every romance reader should try an Emily March book and this is a wonderful place to start!

This book was just okay for me. I felt like their was something missing the entire time I was reading it. I think people who read the original series will enjoy it much more.

Emily March is an author that I will always read . She is never a disappointment. Her books evoke so many emotions. Jackson was no different. From the first page she grabs your attention and tugs at your heart strings. If you like her Eternity Springs series you will love this one. Set in a place called Redemption. Celeste Blessings even makes an appearance.

Jackson is the first book in the McBrides of Texas series, which is a spin off of a previous series. Jackson can be read as a standalone and the first book I've read by this author. Caroline is new to Redemption and looking for a fresh start. I loved the interaction between Caroline and Jackson, he was so sweet to her from the beginning.

This was a good read, sweet low on angst. Honestly, I don't have anything that I didn't like, the only reason I rated this a four star was because I couldn't really get lost in the book, it was enjoyable, but I didn't feel a connection to the characters or the story.

I received an advance copy of Jackson by Emily March from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. Even though I was able to follow and enjoy the story, it is very obvious this is one of many books in a series. It can definitely stand alone but there were lots of characters and references related to other books in the series. Jackson is an easy enjoyable read. I would recommend it for readers who prefer mild sexual scenes. Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to preview this book.

I loved this this book! A feel good love story for sure. All of the characters were likeable and very well developed. I can't wait to read more about the secondary characters, I hope there are follow ups!
