When Jackson McBride's imploded with a judge ruling against him in a painful custody battle. His cousin Boone came through with a plan to help him get through it. The three McBride cousins have inherited a property and together come up with a plan to make it self sustaining.
Add widow Caroline Carruthers to the group in Redemption, Texas, she and Jackson bond together and overcome the painful parts of their lives.
A lively story with fabulous descriptions and vivid characters, it's easy to see why the Eternity Springs series is so popular.
I requested and received a Netgalley ARC to peruse and offer my opinion freely. Great contemporary western romance with a variety of truly likable characters.

I am so glad that the author decided to break this book into parts. We are able to get a complete story this way without taking away from the sadness of the beginning of the book. Caroline and Jackson are just so cute together.

"Jackson" by Emily March
Don't miss your chance to learn the story, or should I say stories, of Ruin, Texas, Redemption, Texas, Enchanted Canyon Ranch, Enchanted Rock, and the characters that bring these places to life. You will meet some truly interesting characters, each with their own story to tell. This is a sweet clean contemporary romance and characters in need of the healing grace of hope. I was gifted an ARC of this story by the publisher via NetGalley. I really liked this story. If you liked the Eternity Springs series I am sure you will like this story too.. I didn't feel the level of magic that Eternity Springs has... but the healing aura does abound. There were times that I got a bit lost for a few moments when time/place/character speaking suddenly changed and it took me a few beats to catch-up. I did make the adjustment but those times forced me out of the story to re-orient myself with time, place, and character. BUT, I did still loved my time in Texas, hope you will also. Happy Reading !

I love the premise of the book and thought the with our does a relatively good job delivering on it.
The characters are sweet and looking for new beginnings based on their challenging past.
It was told from a dual POV but it changed randomly and I wasn't sure who was telling what part of the story.. There was minimal drama in the beginning but the with our made up for it towards the end. It was almost too much.
I liked the main characters Jackson and Caroline and the secondary characters were equally as important to this first in a series novel.

It wasn't bad just needed a little tweaking.

This book is branched off the Eternity Springs series. I love this series so I was happy to see some of the same characters and the wisdom and magic that they bring. Jackson and Caroline have started a new beginning in the town of Redemption. Their paths cross and all the magic and the lives in this town start to intertwine. Great read and wonderful love story. Can’t wait for the next book. A must read.

Very sweet and fun story...I really can't wait to read more about the McBride men in this town :) We've met some previously, but the book stands alone and just shows all the good fo people.

From the time I started reading her Eternity Springs series, Emily March has always managed to develop characters that engage my emotions & draw me into the story. Jackson is a songwriter & musician that, since his divorce, has lost the ability to believe in love & write his music. He’s just lost the opportunity to see his 6 year old daughter since the courts are allowing her mother to take her on tour with her. Caroline has lost her husband to dementia. Even though he is still alive, he doesn’t remember her.

A chance meeting in Redemption, Texas leads to the start of a friendship. Jackson was there at a particularly low point in Caroline’s life. A year later, Caroline moves to Redemption to open a bookstore & Jackson is also there. This time they are both free. Will they allow the chemistry to take them further than friendship? Will Jackson’s past interfere?

It took me awhile with this book to get into the story. I started it and it just did not catch my interest or attention. I continued to read since I wanted to do a review and I finally enjoyed and liked the story. The author gives vivid descriptions of the town and area so I felt like I was there. i did not like one of the characters at all but for the most part it was a good story with a happily ever after.

I’ve fallen in love with Redemption Texas and the people who live there. The cast of characters are fabulous and each very unique. Jackson McBride and his cousins are all super sexy and perfect gentlemen. I hope Emily March writes more of these guys and I’m excited for the road to Ruin.

This book was not very engaging. I did not care about the characters. There was just not a lot of development of these characters. The story was very slow moving

I’m a huge fan of Emily March and love all of her books. Her new book “Jackson” is no exception. Her love of family shows through in the story along with personal pains and redemption in her characters. I highly recommend this book.

Both main characters were good ones. People that you begin to care for and want a good outcome for. It was interesting that the very first time Caroline and Jackson met, she was married. Now that was something I wasn't expecting. Coming to Redemption does stir the seemingly dead music in Jackson's soul and it seems like Caroline has also stirred that up as well. I guess you could say from the very beginning she was like his muse.

There is really good world building and very descriptive painting of Redemption. For me, the only problem was that at times it felt like a bit too much history and description. It began to feel like a travel log at times. It slowed the story down for me. I was interested in more things happening with the people especially the main characters.
Jackson is working with two other family members. Boone and Tucker are his cousins and they are all in when it comes to make this new venture succeed. Celeste Blessing was another wonderful character who pulls a lot of threads together. She's 70 years old plus. She helped different people meet who otherwise might not have. She's considered kind and extremely wise by most people. She also almost scares people with some of the accurate wisdom's that come out of her mouth for the future that people will need. If only Angelica would listen to some of that wisdom. Angelica is Celeste's cousin and she isn't mean but she is a bit flaky. And the two of them are often butting heads especially when it comes to running the new inn.
Maisy Baldwin is another person who is secondary to the story. Caroline and Maisy are developing a new friendship though.
If you really want to see a unusual woman you will get to see that in Jackson's ex-wife Sharon. She is also known as the singing sensation Coco.
There is a twist or two towards the end of the book with a good Epilogue. All in all, I have to say that the book was an okay read, with the potential to be more. A little less about their surroundings and a more action with the actual characters of the story. I missed the depth that it could have had.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

I’m a huge fan of Emily March! I love the Eternity Springs series. The trouble with a town series is that you run out of people. I was so pleased that she’s extending our family. I loved Jackson’s story, the characters, the dog! And I am SO excited to see this Redemption group grow!! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to read and review this one! Thanks so much Emily for letting us all be a part of the Eternity Springs/Redemption Family!

It’s a good heartfelt emotional read but it’s just not holding my interest. Unfortunately I am going to have to add it to my DNF list.

I received this ARC for an honest review. This story is about Jackson and Caroline. Jackson was a song writer to his ex wife and he is having problems writing after the divorce. Caroline is finding her way after her husband was diagnosed early onset Alzheimer’s . They meet by chance at a B&B in Redemption, Tx. Caroline was there to do a story for a travel magazine, and Jackson was there to check on some property that his aunt left him and his cousins. When Jackson first saw Caroline, he started to hear music again. During their stay, they crossed paths again after dinner. Caroline’s tour guide also wanted to see the property because it has a ghost town. Caroline received a call that her husband had a heart attack and Jackson volunteered to drive her. They became sort of friends on the drive. They didn’t reconnect until a year later when Caroline opened a book store in Redemption. Much more happens, but I’m not going to tell you.

Jackson by Emily March is a wonderful book. Three cousins, Boone, Tucker and Jackson, inherit property when their Uncle dies. He leaves them property from Ruin, TX to Redemption TX; therefore, they literally own the road from Ruin to Redemption. This story about the people who truly get their lives redeemed in Redemption is really heartwarming. Don’t miss this one. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book.

I am enchanted by the writing of Emily March. When the Eternity Springs Colorado series was over I literally mourned. I am so grateful with 'Jackson' and the new Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas series. The story is poignant and heart lifting, filled with memorable characters with deep, human issues in which we can all share. I want to go the the Hill Country now, and can't wait for the next in the trilogy.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Great second chance romance. I love Ms. March’s Books and she did not disappoint with this one. I loved Redemption, TX and the characters of Jackson and Caroline. I look forward to the second installment in this trilogy.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

A slow easy read. Characters were mostly realistic and mature but none of them were very deep The ex wife was dramatic self indulgent, selfish, conniving and not very likeable. The leading man, Jackson started out strong but fell off the pedestal before the ending.
The ending seemed contrived and the story/plot fell short. Not a great love story, not a lot of twists and turns. Not a very deep thoughtful book with the exception of a hint at second chances in life, and redemption of relationships but definitely an entertaining one.
