Sometimes it takes a new beginning
Caroline Carruthers married young to a much-older man. Now that he's gone, she's lost...until she dares to chase a dream all on her own. Moving to Redemption, Texas, is chapter one in Caroline's new life story. Opening a bookstore is the next. Finding love is the last thing on her mind as she settles into this new place called home. But when she meets a handsome, soulful man who's also starting over, all bets are off.
to reach a happily-ever-after
Jackson McBride came to Redemption looking only to find himself, not someone to love. Ever since his marriage ended, he's been bitter. Sure, he used to believe in love--he even has the old song lyrics to prove it--but the Jackson of today is all business. That is, until a beautiful young widow who's moved to town inspires a change of heart. Could it be that the myth of Redemption's healing magic is true...and Jackson and Caroline can find a second chance at a happy ending after all

My thought:

Rating:4

Would I recommend it? yes

Would I read anything else by this author? maybe

Will I go on with this series?yes

This is my first book by this author and I can see why a lot of people like her work ,because this one was a slow burning romance , while they both felt the heat towards each other , they was both scared to make a move , and scared to trust their feelings once more, I liked how they took their time been friends before moving towards a relationship. With that said I would like to thank Netgalley and the Publisher for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.

WELL Apparently I have just stumbled on a popular series! This is about Jackson McBride and the heartbreak he suffers from loosing his daughter. Even though Jackson is a song writer with a dry spell going on; God sends him an inheritance and a feisty widow named Caroline. Smooth moving and light hearted story. This is my first in either of these two series - but it stood alone just fine for me. "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martin's Press via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." DONT LOOK ANY FARTHER FOR A GOOD BOOK!!

Jackson is an easy read. I like the Texas setting. My favorite character is Angelica, who is a pistol. Jackson is aching over he loss of his daughter and Caroline over the loss of her husband. Together these two find each other in Redemption as each embarks on a new career endeavor. A tragedy changes their lives and everyone has to adjust, but will all parties be willing?

Another hit by Emily March! Since Jackson has had a rough time with his ex-wife and child he is definitely not looking for a relationship. Caroline is heartbroken over her husband’s early dementia diagnosis and subsequent death. Eternity Springs and Redemption, Texas are special places that I wish I could visit! I don’t want to give too much of this book away, but I did not want to put it down! Can’t wait for the next one!

I'm a big fan of Emily March's Eternity Springs series, so I was psyched that she was writing a spin-off series. I was hoping that we'd be getting Boone McBride's story, because I feel that he's due for a happy ending, but Jackson is the story of Boone's cousin Jackson.

Poor Jackson. He's been in a nasty custody fight with his ex-wife over his six year old daughter, Haley. His ex is a big time pop singer, with tons of cash and lawyers, so now Jackson is going to go six months without seeing his daughter while his ex is on tour and the poor guy is a broken hearted mess. When his cousin Boone calls and asks him to meet in Redemption, TX, Jackson has no reason not to go.

Boone, Jackson and their cousin Tucker have all inherited a bunch of property from their great aunt in Redemption. That's where Jackson literally runs into Caroline, who has her own woes. Her husband, who is significantly older than she is, has early onset Alzheimer's. He's fallen in love with another woman at his memory care facility and doesn't recognize Caroline. When Caroline has a chance meeting with our favorite Eternity Springs angel, Celeste Blessing, she's on the road to Redemption to write an article for her.

Caroline and Jackson's story isn't rushed, which is something I like about Emily March books. I can't recall any of her stories being built around instant love. Their relationship is sweet and starts with friendship, something both of them are in desperate need of. Also, I love Celeste's cousin Angelica!

I was happy to see some of the gang from Eternity Springs, but it isn't necessary to read those books before reading Jackson. I can't wait for more McBrides!

Having thoroughly enjoyed the Eternity Springs series, I was happy to see Emily March starting a spin-off series. This story is set in Redemption, Texas and has many connections to the characters in Eternity Springs that we've all come to love, including Celeste Blessing. Although, Celeste has some stiff competition with her cousin Angelica who I think will feature prominently in Redemption and in future books.
Once again, Emily March has brought two wounded characters together that need to rebuild their own lives and hopefully move on to the next phase of their life together. Caroline has recently lost her husband and is trying to start over, while Jackson is trying to move past a bitter divorce and difficult custody arrangement. Neither is looking for love but they are both looking for healing.
This was a great start to a new series that promises to be as heartwarming and enjoyable as Eternity Springs.

What a wonderful story, Emily March tells through her awesome pen and characters. Jackson is part of an established series drawing me to read those released books that introduced his cousins and family.. Each character in small town Texas are uniquely named and are key to this next stage in Carolyn's life.

Carolyn is introduced to the reader after her husband who has early onset of dementia has entered. a care facility where he resides, Carolyn comes in contact with a number of characters uniquely named that will help lead her to her next stage in life and to Jackson, a former song writer musician.

Take this journey....it is a sweet telling of a love that develops after the two main characters experience life changing losses. This is the rebuilding of life after loss....in new surroundings with wonderfully named towns and characters. Redemption, Ruin, Eternity Springs. little towns in Texas all will pull you to visit these life changing places. Truly a well told story. As with so many good books, the book returned to me for days. Peppered throughout are words of wisdom, old sayings that slip through the pages and awaken the lines, the camaraderie developing between the characters as they share their lives. Wonderfully welcoming.

I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin Press for this lovely experience

Ms. March's spin-off from Eternity Springs was awesome. Jackson and Caroline's story was great. I'm really excited to read all of the Enchanted Canyon series. It was fun to see how all the characters from her past books get together. Kind of like a family reunion.
Jackson, fresh off a divorce and a nasty custody battle is down but not out. Caroline trying to find her way after the death of her husband. They made the perfect couple. The background characters were so much fun. Angelica Blessing, Celeste's cousin is quite the character total opposite from Celeste. This series is going to be so good. Look forward to the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed reading Jackson. Jackson meets Caroline shortly after arriving in Redemption to look over the properties he and his cousins recently inherited. They shared a warm camaraderie, but nothing more at that point as Caroline was married and grieving her husband’s Alzheimer’s, and Jackson was grieving the loss of his daughter during a custody fight.

Readers are also introduced to a strong cast of quirky, yet loving and supportive characters. A year or so after meeting Jackson, a widowed Caroline decides to start the next chapter of her life by moving to Redemption and opening a bookstore. This allows her to reconnect with Jackson. A series of challenges threaten to upend their relationship, but they hang tough to find their happily ever after.

I liked this book and I thought Caroline was sweet, but I didn't feel a strong connection to Jackson. For some reason, the Blessing cousins and personalities within Redemption reminded me of Gilmore Girls and Stars Hollow, where everyone helps each other, quirks and all. Not my most favorite book in the world but definitely one worth reading.

Loved this book. Jackson and Caroline are perfect from the first word. Having Celeste bring her magic to this is a wonderful set up. New friends , old friends, everyone gets into the act. Watch everyone grow stronger in Redemption.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I so enjoyed this sweet romance it was totally heartwarming, a lot of this was due to Jackson’s little daughter Haley.
And I liked being along for the rebuilding of Caroline’s life after she lost her husband and in on the inheritance Jackson and his brothers received, all in all it was such a good read but I did want to know a little more about how Jackson came out on all the song writing dealing his ex was making with him.
Love a good epilogue, I think this one will grab you!

Jackson by Emily March was sad, sweet, sexy, and everything in between. This story was well written and created some very lovable characters. I'd like to read more by Ms. March.

Reading this book, I was transported to Redemption, a small town in Texas. The scenes are so vivid that I could visualise the whole thing and the history attached to it.

Jackson is one of the three McBride cousins. They have just inherited a gem of a property in a magical canyon in Redemption. They get together to explore the prospects of this property and what they come up with is astounding.

Caroline is a widow who decides to write a new chapter in Redemption. A place where she had a short visit before she was faced with a heartbreaking tragedy. However, she puts her big girl's panties on and decides that she has to move forward.

Jackson and Caroline have a brief meeting before she receives the most upsetting news. He treats her well and offers a helping hand even if they hardly know each other. When Caroline returns to Redemption to settle, she bumps into Jackson and they soon become friends. Even though neither of them is looking for love, there is an obvious attraction between them. Will Jackson's bitterness of his past outweigh their attraction or can they heal each other and restore their faith in love?

Even though Jackson is struggling with what's been dished out to him, he is very thoughtful and a perfect gentleman towards Caroline. There is a lapse where tragedy strikes, concerning his ex and his beloved daughter, but when he realises that he might have crossed a boundary, he sticks to his word and listens to his heart. Caroline is extremely patient and understanding even when doubts start to interfere with her common sense. There is a point when I thought that all was lost, but everything is turned around nicely to give a desirable and wonderful outcome. Despite all the heartaches, there are some light and fun moments. I loved this story even through the times when my heart was breaking. It's breathtaking!

I was kindly issued with an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I love the Eternity Springs series, and I still want my very own Celeste Blessing. This was a fun, sweet and very relatable story. Caroline is so sweet, but shows some serious strength. You can read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend the whole series!

Jackson is a small town story type of book that pulls you in. I felt like I was with Caroline and Jackson every step of the way in their relationship from friendship to love. Truly an enjoyable book.

I will say, the first chapter or two hits you with a lot of info and it is cluttered, I had to go back and reread it a couple time to get myself sorted out to continue the book but well worth the read.
