Such a great book!! I loved this series so much. Somehow, it made me feel like I was 12 again getting into fantasy books.

Stephanie Garber is so great at world-building. I think as I have grown older, it is harder for me to read fantasy than it was when I was a teen. I feel like Garber did an amazing job with this trilogy and I am always on the lookout for what's next.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I'm glad I got the chance to read this novel. It was a unique storyline.

I absolutely loved the first book and the second wasn't as strong in my opinion. However, this last book really was strong and ended the series on a strong note. I felt like everything came together. The world that Stephanie Garber created was so magical and it felt like we were right there. I highly recommend it!

Such a great book! I loved the ending. I even loved some of the villains. I love Stephanie's world building in the whole series.

I would read anything in the Caraval world sight unseen. Just hand it to me and I will invest the rest of my day to it.

It has taken me forever to get here, but here I am!

Overall, I think I'm finally happy to be finished with this series. I wanted to love it, and definitely liked Legendary better than Caraval, but just kept finding myself slipping and working towards DNF-ing the whole thing. This series reminds me a little bit of The Selection Series -- I would read it if I didn't want to really take it seriously and just enjoy the ride.

I obviously had a thorough love/hate relationship with this book and couldn't get really sold or hooked throughout my read (although I really have a big thing for villains, and this book DELIVERS there). The descriptions and worldbuilding are phenomenal but the plot felt convoluted, and god I keep getting frustrated with this weird love-triangle-thing? Isn't everyone over this trope?

Overall it wasn't bad, but definitely not my favorite, and unsure if I will revisit.

I read this in anticipation for ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART, which I received a physical galley for. I found this conclusion to be lackluster, and I really hope that the sequel series the author is working on picks up.

Meh. I was so looking forward to this one but it really fell flat for me. It seemed like the author would remember that she needed to wrap up a plot line and just throw in a chapter or two. Or remember that we hadn't heard from Scarlet in a while so she needed a quick chapter. It was fine but definitely disappointed in the ending.

I can't talk much about the thing I liked most about this book without spoilers but there were definitely writing choices I appreciated. It's brain candy at it's best in my opinion; I can see it being a CW show.

By far one of the best books I have read in a long time. The magic, romance, and suspense are spectacular and put you on the edge of your seat. I am so glad I decided to stick with this series after the first book.

Legend is a magnetic character with depth that is hard fought for. Tella is the heroine we strive to find. The other characters that support the endgame of the story (Scarlet, Julian, and Jacks) are as beautifully written as those who are considered the main. The multiple POV writing style is incredible and really brings the story home.

I would recommend this series to anyone. Fantasy readers, romance readers, YA, adult - to doesn't matter. It has something for everyone. It is magnificent story and the writing is pristine. I am grateful for the chance to have read it and been a part of its journey. If you have not picked up this book, do it! You will not be disappointed.

I am not a big fan of the "circus" but I did find enjoyment in these whole series. I love a good trilogy that wraps up nicely at the end.

I fell in love with this series as soon as I laid my eyes on Caraval. The twists and turns found in Finale are out of this world! Just when you think you know what will happen next, the opposite occurs. I've loved going through these adventures with Scarlett and Tella, and am really sad for them to come to an end. However, this amazing trilogy could not have come to a more amazing conclusion. It truly was a grand Finale.

It's so hard to believe that this series is over! I was surprised and happy with this final book in the Caraval trilogy. I think it held all of the feeling and emotion of the series wrapped up in a complex web of hopes, dreams, lies, deceit, and possibilities!

Going in, I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought of Caraval as Scarlet's story and then Legendary as Tella's so I wasn't sure what to expect in this book...but was pleased that it was a mixture of both sisters. I also really enjoyed getting a look into their past and a little of what makes them who they are. It's those answers we crave from the beginning that finally come out.

I was perhaps a little disappointed I one aspect of Tella's life - won't mention due to spoilers - but I wanted to see more of someone and less of another. I felt like, at times, we were told "this thing is happening and cannot be undone" and then it was easily undone. Granted, I could see some unreliable narration going on that likely is the case for my frustration (ha!) but still it was a little miffed ;)

All in all, it was a dramatic and satisfying ending to a lovely and magical trilogy.

I love this series, and I loved Finale!! There were plenty of all-hope-is-lost moments, and overall it was a fast-paced, romantic, and gorgeously-written third book. I’ll try to remember to say more once the books I released, but this book was an absolute pleasure to read!

Thank you to the publisher, Flatiron Books, for sending me a review copy in exchange for my honest review.

"I'm the villain, even in my own story."

Man Stephanie Garber can write good villains. Like true villains. Like villains you cheer for. I didn’t want Jack’s to win but man if it was a movie after some scenes I’d cheer for him. You go bad guy!! Way to be bad!! Like I hate him, he’s awful, but it’s such a beautiful awful. Don’t get me wrong if a man did to me what he did to Tella I’d want him dead. But he was also so good at being bad. Its probably what I like most about these books. Why I keep coming back. The characters are so strong, so perfectly crafted. And man do I like how strong they feel. When it’s love, hate, obsession. I feel that! All of it. Hard. What a way to write characters! I’m so impressed. I vividly remember book one, when Scarlett and Donatella’s father, Marcello Dragna was introduced. I felt so much hatred for him. How does this happen? I don’t think I’ve even felt what the characters feel so vividly and strongly. Like I said, I’m impressed by these characters and how well they are written.

Moving on. I have no idea how I feel about this book. I love and hate it at the same time. But I also feel this way about the series in general. There was too much going on BUT not enough. I’m so confused. It feels complete but also not finished. I’m not making any sense. Not even to me. I really like Legend and Julian. Which is funny because the story is about the sisters not the brothers. I liked the whole idea of Caraval and playing a magical game as a contest. But I love stories with magic and romance.

It took me so long to get into this book though. I didn’t get hooked until I was 45% into the story and then I couldn’t read fast enough. It was a little overwhelming for me at the beginning. For some reason it was giving me a lot of anxiety. Which is ridiculous but true. All in all I still recommend it. Even if I’m confused at the moment.

This was a wonderful ending to a magical series. I loved so much how well everything fit together and how easy it was to get lost in this series and this final book. I had a love hare relationship with it the entire time because I wanted to read it right away but I knew it was the last one and I wasn't ready to say goodbye to this world yet.

I have enjoyed this series so far, but this book was disappointing.

First off, I was expecting the Fates to be a bigger menace. Don't get me wrong, their deeds were evil, but we got to see a handful of things they did to terrorize people whereas I was expecting more of an assault. After all, they had spent years cursed as the playing cards, I would have thought they wanted to wreak total chaos. Honestly, I was expecting the kind of mayhem that a breakout from Arkham Asylum would produce.

Then there was the fact that there was a massive buildup to the ending and the the matter itself was dealt with rather insipidly. Mind you, abrupt endings are a major pet peeve of mine and there was nowhere much to go with this one where the resolution had to include the Fates' fate as well to how the love stories were going to play out.

Once again, I enjoyed the journey, but not the destination.

It was the perfect end to an amazing series! I feel like all character's stories wrapped up well and ended up very satisfying for me.

Welcome, welcome to Finale. All games must come to an end…

I am obsessed with this series, and I was both thrilled and devastated to read the final book. Finale was everything I could have hoped for and more. The magic continues to sweep you into the world of Caraval, and I loved the tie-ins with tarot cards and the Fates throughout Finale and Legendary. It gave a fantasy storyline more of a bridge to the real world, similar to the muggle lifestyle and artifacts in the Harry Potter books.

Finale has it all: magic, family, love, loss, danger, temptation, mystical beings, and the ultimate game.

This was a fun and satisfying finish to the trilogy. The world that the author created in Caraval carried through and really made you care about the characters and their future. They are all complex and flawed, making the more likeable, even when you're cringing at their decisions. The romance angles can overpower the rest of the story at times, but overall everything meshed well together. It would be fun to read the whole thing in a row to get the full effect again - maybe one day! Recommended to those whole love a well built fantasy world.
