I appreciate having had an opportunity to read and review this book. The appeal of this particular book was not evident to me, and if I cannot file a generally positive review I prefer simply to advise the publisher to that effect and file no review at all.

I hadn't heard of this author before now, before NetGalley, but apparently he's written quite a lot over the years, including some Star Trek pro-fic (I think it's pro-fic). Lots of YA in his bibliography and he seems to emphasize (or at least include) humor at times. This is his second collection and the stories are in a humorous vein. The humor didn't usually work for me, but I don't always agree with the crowd on things like this. I don't have a good comparison but to me it's not like Pratchett or Adams. These seem to start with a humorous concept and then flesh that out into a story without much further humor.

In a Green Dress, Surrounded by Exploding Clowns and Other Stories, starts off crazy and only gets weirder from there. If you like insane stories that mess with your head, feel free to read this book.
