Sadie and Colt were such a prickly couple and you could tell that Colt fought his feelings for Sadie but she just had no clue at all that his actions were covering that love.

There were times that I just got so annoyed with Sadie when she accepted the way that her father treated her, yet I really liked her!

I also felt for Colt that he let the actions of his terrible parents have more influence on his life than the example of Susannah and Frtiz who took him in and also raised him.

Looking forward to seeing more of this family as it looks like Pen and Ethan may be the next couple.

Homecoming for the Cowboy is a tangled romance full of responsibility, confusion, misunderstandings, and attraction. This is Colt and Sadie’s story. It was an enjoyable story, but was too heavy on all the misunderstandings for me. This is my first time reading a story from this author.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

A wonderful story about redemption. One needs it for something that he’s not responsible for and she needs it for her attitude. Another needs it to save the family business but even more to bring the family back together. With the backdrop of a ranch and especially the goats, we see grit and determination to save the ranch and to save relationships. A very warm and heartwarming story that will draw you in so deeply that you just might feel the urge to milk a goat!

Will he break a promise or break her heart?

Colt Vance owes everything he is to the Martin family, which is why he’s stayed far, far away for years. But now that Fritz Martin has asked him a favor, he’s back in Last Stand facing the one temptation he can’t ever give into: his mentor’s middle daughter.

Sadie Martin doesn’t like Colt Vance, or so she’s told herself for years. He’s far too charming and has her father wrapped around his finger. But Sadie doesn’t have a choice except to work with Colt to save her beloved goat farm.

Working together tests Colt’s resolve when it comes to his attraction to Sadie, and Sadie comes to realize she doesn’t just enjoy Colt’s company, she craves it. But Colt can’t break the promise he made to Fritz years ago. Can one tenacious farm girl convince this stubborn cowboy love is always the answer to any problem

My thoughts:
rating: 4.5
What a great start to a new series , can't wait to read more of it now I've read this one, loved the characters and how they was family in any ways even if it wasn't by blood , once I started reading I got lost in the story and did want to put it down at all , the story came to life before my eyes . With that said I want to say thanks to Netgalley for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book.

Didn't like it; coward hero, weak dormat heroine.
This story did have a good potential, but those bad MCs didn't work out for me.

Will look for more books from this series

I'm always on the loo out for a fun cowboy based read for my library patrons. Homecoming for the Cowboy fits the bill as Colt tries to deny the attraction between himself and Sadie. She is confused but doesn't realize that Colt is trying to keep a promise to stay away from Sadie that he made years ago to her father. However love rules all in the end as the couple decide that being together is the best place to be after all.

Homecoming for the Cowboy is a sweet romance. I love books with cowboys. Colt and Sadie try to fight their attraction, but being back together on the ranch is a temptation they find hard to deny. Nicole Helm writes a short story that will leave you with a smile.

This was an enjoyable story, but not so compelling for me as usual with this author’s work.
Colt and Sadie are likeable characters, and a group of interesting supporting characters, linked in a web of strong relationships and affections, made me enjoy the story.
Hero and heroine are trying to avoid a long lasting crush and attraction; as a matter of fact, the first half of the story is mainly about avoidance, “attraction but not action”, until Sadie, at last, in an epiphany moment, decides it’s time to change.
Colt is a troubled, honorable man, trying to keep a promise (the fact the conflict arises mostly from said promise felt a bit weak for me); as a man with lots of baggage and self-worth issues he’s an example of the tortured hero Nicole Helm creates so well.

Homecoming For the Cowboy, is a fast easy book to read. Some drama, but not the annoying type. I liked how Sadie got Colt to see what a great man he is, right after she figured it out that is.

I started out reading this book to review it for an article, Am I glad I did! I loved it. It was sexy, funny and heartwarming. I loved it so much, I went out and bought two more books by the author and they too were wonderful. Ms. Helm has another fan in me!

Cute, fun romance. Colt struggles with his growing feelings for the daughter of the man who saved him as a boy. Sadie tries to understand her feelings for a man she thought she hated

First book in the series. Three daughters, and three foster sons. Hmm. Ok, a little formula here, but it works. This one has Colt, who has returned to partner up to save the ranch. He always butts heads with Sadie, since he promised her dad he would never try anything with the daughters. naturally, sparks fly and they fall in love. Her sister Pen, a widow, comes home with her three daughters, and when their father has a heart attack the other daughter comes home too. With Ethan, a cop in town, I am guessing he and Pen will be the next story. Fun read, and one I recommend.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. I love the attraction between Colt and Sadie but I do have to admit this was not one of my favorite storylines.

The family history and the stubbornness of all the characters just made it a difficult read. I would however give the author another chance and will try other books of hers.

A great start to another new series set in Last Stand, Texas. Homecoming for the Cowboy by Nicole Helm, book one in the Bad Boys of Last Stand series. Enjoyable characters, a great storyline, setting and dialogue. I look forward to read what the rest of the series brings to us.

This the first book in the series and I enjoyed it though the premise was different than I expected. Essentally Fritz is the dad and many years before he was married to a cop, Susanna who is now deceased. They had 3 daughters together , and Suzanna fostered 3 boys who she felt needed help. So essentially they became a family with six kids.

Colt was one of the boys and Sadie was the middle daughter. Cold has always had a thing for Sadie but was told that she was forbidden. Now years later Colt has invested in the ranch Fritz owns and now partners with Sadie and that is when the fireworks starts.

I really enjoyed the story though at times Colt seemed like a stronger character on the outside than he was on the inside. Sadie was the one with courage here as she fought to be with him. I really loved the story and loook forward to more in the series.

The story of Colt and Sadie. He is back in town to help save Sadie's family ranch. She doesn't want him there any more than he wants to be there, but soon the attraction between theem is too much to ignore.

Lookings forward to the other books set in Last Stand.

This is the best book I have read by Nicole Helm thusfar! It was a sweet and romantic book about two people who have resisted their feelings for each other for years, but can’t ignore them any longer.

Homecoming for the Cowboy is the story of Colt and Sadie, two goat farmers who grew up together. Sadie comes from a loving home, Colt comes from an abusive, alcoholic father, and Sadie’s parents take him in as a teenager. As a teen, Colt is warned by Sadie’s father to stay away from his daughters, and Colt takes his promise to not pursue any of them very seriously. However, as the years go by, it becomes harder and harder for him to keep that promise as his attraction to Sadie grows. When the family faces a hardship, Colt returns home to help out, and his feelings become impossible to ignore.

I really enjoyed this book. The feelings between the two were clear from the start, and there was a lot of sexual tension and a slow burn to finally get them together. Since they grew up together, there was already a lot of love and understanding between the two; they just needed to change the dynamic of their relationship. I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, and I cannot wait to read the next book about one of Sadie’s sisters finding love.

HOMECOMING FOR THE COWBOY by Nicole Helm is a fun small town romance! Colt and Sadie are acting on the attraction they both feel. I couldn't put this book down! A five 🌟 read for sure!

I am enjoying the new series (seems to be an interrelated set of series) centered around Last Stand, Texas. This is the first in what I hope is a series focusing on the Martin ranch. Fritz Martin and his late wife had three daughters and three foster sons. He made the boys swear as teens they’d never get involved with the girls. But Colt Vance has always had a thing for Sadie Martin. He grew up in an abusive home and doesn’t think he deserves her. She is isolated and not great at expressing emotions. She also initially sees his return to the ranch as a threat to her role when she is the only daughter who stayed to run the ranch. This is a seeet romance where two wounded people eventually find each other and we get glimpses of the next romances (Ethan/Pen and Bracken/Mack if I had to guess).
