This is the second book in the series, and even though I didn't read the first one (yet), it was easy enough to read without feeling I've lost a lot of references from the first book. I enjoyed the book, and will search now for the other books in the series. Recommended for anyone who loves a good read that keeps you entertained up to the end.

Sorry I could not finish this title, it didn’t interest me. I found the plot unengaging. I read the first 100 pages so to give a full review would be unfair.

Really really enjoyed the book, I found myself gripped all the way through. I haven't read the first one in the series but I'm definitely going to go and read that one now.

The 2nd book in the DI Ridpath series, this again had me hooked from the outset.

I thoroughly enjoyed the way that M J Lee draws you into the storyline with its numerous twists and turns. As with the previous book this left me wanting to read more about DI Ridpath.

4.5 stars

Edge of your seat suspense that keeps you entertained until the very end.

DI Ridpath is in the process of getting his life back together when everything goes wrong.

The characters are very well-crafted and the storyline is easy to follow. A true suspenseful novel. Masterpiece.

Where the Dead Fall by M J Lee has DI Ridpath see a motorway accident, where a nearly naked man is hit by a lorry whilst running from a man with a gun.

This starts an investigation where DI Ridpath has to prove he wasn't going crazy when claiming to see the man with the gun.  This is a police procedural, and a thriller, with Ridpath having an estraged wife and daughter, whom he's trying to repair his relationship with, during all of this chaos.

This is the second book in the DI Ridpath series, and I hadn't read the first one.  I found it to be a fine police procedural, but I'm not hunting down the rest of the books in the series.

Where the Dead Fall  was published on 11 April 2019, and is available from  Amazon ,  Waterstones  and  Bookshop.org .

You can follow M J Lee on  Facebook  and his  website .

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to  Canelo .

Having read the previous book by M J Lee, I knew I would enjoy this one and I wasn't disappointed. This return of DI Ridpath is a gripping and twisting crime thriller. Ridpath is involved in a motorway accident but why didn't anyone else notice what happened? The investigation leads Ridpath and team investigating feuding Manchester gangs..

I have just read this while trying to play catch up with myTBR pile and catch up with series of books.
I really do like the main Character in this book 'Ridpath.
I was thrilled to be able to dive in this second instalment of the DI Ridpath series. It certainly didnt dissapoint.
What I also like is the fact that I know a lot of the places as living around the area means you visualise locations so differently. I think this is the first time i've read a book that mentions a little village called Partington.
DI Ridpath, is part of the Greater Manchester Major Incident Team, although he is working for Mrs Challinor the Coroner, I like the fact that he's working for the coroner as i think it adds a real interesting elemnt to the cases he's working on.
For me this book was as good, if not better than book one. I look forward to continuing to get to know Ridpath and other characters as this series builds. I just know it's going to be a corker of a series.

I absolutely loved the first DI Ridpath novel, and this second in series didn’t disappoint. There’s something about setting and the authenticity of these novels which truly sets them apart! Excellent. Kept me engaged and reading as quickly as I could to get to the end, in a good way!

With thanks to Netgalley and Canelo

Having not read the first Ripath book, I found it a little bit hard to first get into this book, but I still enjoyed it.

Where the dead fall is a solid crime book

This is a great read. It moves along at race-neck pace, the plot is solid, the characters believable and well-drawn. A great book for anyone who enjoys a good police procedural.

‘Where the Dead Fall’ is a straightforward and entertaining detective story set in the Greater Manchester area. All the usual plot ingredients are there: complex private life; difficult senior officers to work under; a central character who brings all the plot strands together into a satisfactory denouement. OK, it’s not the greatest literature and a fair number of the cliches that afflict this genre are, sadly, present. But the pace is well maintained, credulity not quite strained beyond breaking point, and the bad guys get taken down in a satisfying ending. The plot had a few interesting and unexpected twists and turns, which helped to counterbalance some of the odd cliches - if this review whets your appetite I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Recommended for an easy read that will pass a few hours quite happily.

Loved it. The second in this series. Great pace, great characters. A little long-winded in places. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Second Ridpath book and as good as the first......set in the north of England where I am from makes it even more enjoyable. Great start to the intrigue and the pace keeps interest through out the book. The personal life of Ridpath interjects the story which I like. Looking forward to the next one!

Didn’t realise this was the 2nd book and thought it was a stand alone novel to be fair, I’m off to find the first one now!

Compelling novel that grips from the starts and doesn’t let up! A real page turner, I loved the storyline and characters and really bonded with the lead detective, I had no idea who the bad guy/girl was until it was revealed, and the ending was a corker

A must read

This was my second Ridpath book so i was expecting to enjoy the ride; set close to me in Manchester Lee manages to draw the Northern psyche without clocking you over the head with it. It is there in the narrative without ever once falling into cliché. This plot is pacy and intriguing, definitely one to keep the pages turning . Enjoy!
